I'm so glad we found this place. As someone who's hesitant to eat out unless there's options for seed oil free meals, I'd given up on wings. It's been years since I've gone to a wing spot because I can't seem to eat them without having a stomach ache after. Not only was Joey's Wings fantastic, but I felt really good after eating quality ingredient wings. My husband and I ordered the 15 piece to share. We split the flavors to be (1) naked wings and (2) lemon pepper (non-spicy). I was surprised at just how much flavor the naked wings had. The ranch tastes homemade; buttermilk with texture from the minced dill so it seems. Paired with the naked wings it was very rich in flavor. The lemon-pepper is heavier on the lemon than most places serving this flavor, which I love. The seasoning is delicious I didn't even need a dip to be honest. I can't wait to come back and try more flavors! The staff were super friendly. Ordering was a breeze, we got our food in less than 10 minutes from ordering. The front is uninviting... I thought they were closed because the front door was closed and blocked by a cash register. One- they got our very first order wrong, even though we ordered directly through the proprietary web site. Two- They add water to the blue cheese dressing. A LOT of water. Blue cheese dressing is supposed to be thick and it should stick to the wings. This was thin like Italian dressing. Not good. Three- the flavors are off. The flavors are poorly named. The 'lemon pepper' does not taste like lemon at all. It tastes more like red pepper and paprika with a hint of citrus. The 'buffalo' does not taste like real 'buffalo' flavor at all. What really kills me is you used to have one of the most authentic shawarma wraps in all of Los Angeles at the old bakery. Now, of course, authentic shawarma is all the rage. Aside from this, my wings were sub-par, obviously from frozen, tasted a bit like they were freezer burned and the sauce had trouble covering it up. How hard is franks red hot and butter for buffalo?? All things considered the staff was very friendly, I don't want to see this place fail! If I'm paying premium prices I expect solid, fresh wings. Please fix this in the future and I will come back. I had to rely on the dipping sauce to add flavor but, even then, not much flavor. I ordered 6 garlic wings (tasteless), with ranch dipping sauce (also flavorless), and 4 thighs, lemon pepper flavor, with the honey mustard sauce (horrible). Had 2 great orders followed by 1 horrible order 2 days ago. Ordered 30 baked wings with buffalo sauce since my boyfriend is diabetic and can't have other sauces due to sugar. I added a Bbq sauce & blue cheese as add ons for me since I don't have those restrictions. We noticed the buffalo sauce was missing and called right away to see if someone could deliver some and spoke to Juliette. She apologized for missing the buffalo sauce on the order and we asked if she could help us fix this and we now couldn't eat. She said no manager was there (on at Saturday night at 7:30pm) to authorize any type of resolution and I would be called back the next day. No calls back received the next day and Postmates was also not helpful. It is a shame that this happened because the other 2 experiences were great. read more
