My friend and I went to eat in the restaurant called Vic ' s & Angelo. After that great restaurant, we ventured to Johnnie Browns. A very open bar, and restaurant. Also a very good live band was playing there. People were outside on the sidewalk, and listening to the music. As well as we were also. We danced, for our very first time on our kind of blind date. Our time at Del Ray Beach was great except for Johnnie Brown's. My girlfriend and I had two beers each on a Sunday night. The bartender sold us $7 shiner bocks, and gave us no warning of last call. The establishment was suppose to be open to 12, and we purchased the beers around 11 as the band was ending their set. When we said something to him about security telling us to head out, he did let me girlfriend know that he would let us finish. However, security working did not receive the same message, and pressured my girlfriend to leave as I was in the bathroom. The actual Johnnie Brown's staff, responsible for closing up shop and namely the windows that night took a personal disliking to when she told security the bartender gave us the green light to finish our drinks. In addition to rudely closing the windows blinds on us, and pressuring us to leave, he began repeatedly telling my girlfriend to "have a wonderful, wonderful, and wonderfullllll evening" in a provocative, antagonistic manner. What man instigates with a woman? These are the antecedents which create a hostile environment and the next triggering event which would have been a response from either one of us. However, we walked away, and left our drinks fully unfinished. I would not go back here. I followed up later with the manager on call, Gio, who did nothing to compensate except told me to stop in and see Vinny, who may compensate me next time. However, we live in Chicago. Great work, Johnnie Browns. They also prefer druggies over their patrons, and did not say one thing to the man standing outside, tweaking on drugs next to us, falling over, and blowing cigarette smoke at us, and not buying a single thing from their establishment. As an avid hamburger connoisseur, I've been on the hunt for the best hamburger in Palm Beach County. I've driven all over and have yet to find a burger that's as good as Johnnie Brown's Steakhouse burger with a side of onion rings. If I were on death row and about to be executed, this would be the staple of my last meal. The service is ok, nothing to write home about, but I've never had a bad experience there. read more

This place is amazing! Long diverse menu. Lots of drinks. I'd recommend coming here in the day though because their band can get loud at night. Burgers are to die for. Went to Johnny's last night and after about 5 minutes we witnessed the manager dragging out a man and literally slammed him to the ground where he hit his head on concrete curb and was knocked out cold. There happened to be a first responder out with his wife and he held a rag on his bleeding head until an ambulance arrived. His family was extremely distraught and the police didn't seem interested in hearing from the witnesses about the assault. I don't care what this person might have done to warrant being tossed out - you can walk someone out and say buh bye - but this horrible act of violence was extremely disturbing to watch. Needless to say, I will find other places to hang out in Delray beach. Johnny's is just too trashy. I hope that man lives. read more

Came here for drinks after dinner and was a little disappointed (primarily at the crowd and the band). The bartenders were great and extremely attentive though they were busy. A patron bought us a round of shots because we came in with a bachelorette party (4/21) and we had the green tea and it was really easy to drink (great, and bad depending on how you look at it....) The crowd was mostly older, which is fine, but the drunken idiots are not. Security could have helped but they were more interested in keeping you from bringing in or taking out drinks. The band was so-so. They covered Chicago for the entire hour we were there. My bachelorette wanted to hear a song but they totally ignored me, though they were happy to take my $20. The next time I am back in Delray I will stick to ROK bar or Bull Bar over this place. read more

I have been to Johnnie Brown's several times and can commend the wait staff and bartenders for keeping a large crowd with drinks. Tonight I was very disappointed in the security staff. Past times I have been there I have seen nothing but professionalism from them, but tonight after being there for a while I walked across the street to the ATM. During that time the punk with the black fishing hat had a hormone boost and messed with my wife about saving a seat. We are taking less than 5 minutes while I was gone. Order here for the first time for lunch, I got the chili cheese fries and these should honestly be taken off the menu. The chili was marinara sauce that they added what seemed to be pinto beans. The onions weren't raw or chopped like traditional chili cheese fries instead in was two big pieces of sautéed type onions. The fries had no taste as well as the cheese. All you could taste was the sauce which was awful. Won't be back. read more

Good for late night music. Always has a high energy band. I only gave it 2 stars because they cater to smokers. If you smoke, you'll love it. If you don't, be prepared to GAG! They allow smoking inside the building. Smoking should only be allowed outside the building. Those of us who enjoy music and dancing should be able to do so without the health hazard of breathing second hand smoke. read more

We stopped for a drink at the bar on Sunday April 15th during The Delray Affair. Very, very weak tasting vodka tonic & Bloody Mary. Especially for $7.50 per drink. I had the coconut shrimp and pain killer. Shrimp was awesome and the drink was tasty, nice and strong. I had several family members there with me and they all really enjoyed their food as well. We had walked around the other restaurants before selecting this location. What appealed the most to me was the open lay out of the place. When we stopped to view the menu we were approached by a very polite waitress who sold us on how awesome their location is. I will go back again next time I'm in town. read more
