The Pizza Tour did stop in and got the Gyro Pizza. Pretty cool concept. Lamb and beef, tomato, tzatziki, onion, fresh garlic, and feta. This might be ok if you want to hang with the local college crowd for beer and giggles but thats all. Dont go expecting great food, any service or good prices. Ok we rocked up at 7.00pm on a Friday, three other tables already seated. We are of 6. Soon the eating area was full and the same guy who was inexperienced (putting it nicely) was trying to cover the whole area. The food was average, two orders of the six were messed up, the fries with the burgers were cold, several things on the menu were out, (on a Friday!) and we had to go ourselves to the bar to get drinks. Wow this place us just a train wreck of a restaurant. The service is just terrible. We went in with a group of 8 one Friday evening for dinner. They were not busy, which was kinda surprising for a Friday. Waiter had to come back 3 times to clarify different people's orders. He wrote them down...sooo maybe he couldnt read his own writing? Food took forever to come out and when it did half of the table got their food and were done eating before the other half got their food. One person never actually got their food. Drinks ran dry from sheer neglect. How they stay open treating customers like that is a real puzzler. The food was meh at best. Every restsurant on the square has better food by comparison. As a financially contributing alumni of UNG, I went back with some college friends for the nostalgia of it. We were told there would be a DJ coming as we went on a Thursday night at 9pm. We decided to talk to some people about the coming DJ and see if we knew any of the THREE other parties at JB's with us. My party of four ordered TWO beers and Josie, the bartender, decided to cut us off for talking to the other parties and being annoying, she decided. We told her we weren't drunk but just trying to be social and she said she could get the bouncer to kick us out if we wouldn't stop. We were horrified. Josie is the rudest bartender I have ever come in contact with. We have never been spoken to the way she spoke to us. She is the reason I will never return. Shame on you, Johnny B's. Some mighty good wings in there. Johnny B's is normally the first place I think about when I want a beer or some wings while catching a game on TV. I enjoyed their BBQ wings and Teriyaki wings with some beer while watching the ALCS back in October. The live band was totally awesome and they did a great job covering Johnny Cash and some of the newer hits from the radio. The staff are nice especially considering how busy the restaurant can get. "Manager"? is as rude as can be. Sign says no public restroom. I'm a customer. Thought there was a difference. She yells at us to get "the fuck out". No explanation. Then comes out to our table ten minutes later ask if there is a problem. As if she was stewing over it. Said she heard us snickering? And said we didn't have to be here and we could leave. The staff and service was great, especially considering 100 bikers (literally 100) came in just 2 hours after opening so they were very short staffed. Great sports/college bar with good food. Voted best wings in Dahlonega for several years running. A long list of wing flavors. Also great thin crust pizza with a wide variety of styles. We got a Loaded Baked Potato pizza last night. So good! I like the Gyro salad, Chicago Dog, and Reuben as well. Cheap beer! Late night brings the college kids, so eat early (well, at least before 9 pm) if you're planning on dinner Thursday thru Saturday, but stay late if you want to shake your groove thang! read more

Johnny B's is the local spot for the younger crowd of college students. You'll quickly outgrow it over time, but when it's not filled with clowns on Thursday and Friday nights, the wings are great on Tuesday night for half price. I live in Dahlonega and have been going to JB's for a long time. They recently got a new manager who is awful!!! My family went there and we ordered an appetizer and and dinner. We never received our appetizer after waiting 20 mins. Our food came and it was all cold, not barely warm but cold. When we finally got warm food. 30-35 mins after ordering we still didn't get our appetizer. We asked where it was and they asked again what we wanted. After the worst service I have ever had in my life and a lie from the manager that they were busy, we got our bill and the manager didn't comp anything on it. I have never been treated so poorly in any other restaurant. He is the worst manager I have ever seen. On top of all that, the portion sizes are very small and 1/2 the time they get your order wrong. Found this place on a fluke, and when I finally got here, I thought how the Hell have I not heard about this place before? I'm a wing freak and gosh 'a mighty Joe Friday they didn't disappoint! I had 20 in the Angry Dawg flavor and they were excellent. My son took in the Pizza Burger and loved it. Half pound burger with marinara sauce, pepperoni, mozzarella, tomato and onions... Poor kid didn't know what hit him... The wings did I mention they looked like they came from a Pterodactyl? Huge! Gonna step the heat up a level next time I'm in there... Never got to the pizza. I've been here a few times and was never impressed either way. I went late last night with my wife because most places were closed and I figured a burger here would be better than a fast food place. We got a big surprise. We both ordered the special and got a gourmet meal for a very low price. Very good! Our server was attentive, but not annoying, just like I like it. One of the few bars in town but sadly just not the place to be. Immediate feeling was it was just a bunch of bikers and trashy people smoking outside and on patio. Inside was completely dead both times I went ON A FRIDAY NIGHT! and Saturday. Then they have a band that was actually good the first night only to find out the following week they just play the same 8 songs lol. The bartenders are very nice until later in the night when they have a few drinks in them and take foreverrrrrrrr to get you drinks. Terrible service and atmosphere overall. Food is okay. read more

Ok so it is hard to find and looks a little shabby from the outside. It is a local beer joint in a college town. It has live music on the weekends and a mixed crowd of young and old. I have eaten there 4 times in the last two months. The waitstaff is cute for the most part, I have drawn the same sweet girl every time. My 11 and 14 yo girls love the place. They have a Big Block (kitchen Sink) burger they can't resist. The fries are spot on how we like them. The wings are pretty good, though I have had better. I have not tried the Chicago deep dish pizza but have been told by MANY regulars it's awesome . But what brings this big boy Yankee in is the Italian beef sandwich. I can't even write this review without my mouth watering. I add the hot Italian sausage and get it with the hot and sweet peppers . Good lord why do I live 30 minutes away from this goldmine. Dip that fat handed sandwich into the au jus and have that brown liquid gold run down your arms as your mouth praises the lord. Have you gotten the picture. This would be a five star but we sat on a Friday night for over an hour before food came. If I didn't have the overwhelming desire to shove a giant beef sandwich in my mouth we might have left. Went to eat at Johnny B's, we have been here many times and the food always takes a while but this time we arrived at 6:30 and ordered right away and at 7:20 finally left when our food still had not arrived. The poor waiter (he was very nice and apologized repeatedly) even offered to take care of our drinks since the manager Kristin Morris would not come out of the kitchen to talk to us. This was the most ridiculous restaurant experience I have ever had, I am local and I definitely plan on spreading the word. If you are in the mood for wings I will definitely recommend Rooster's. Oh and while we were waiting (seems to be the theme here) for the manager to come out someone apparently got burnt in the kitchen so we got to listen to the expletives screamed across the restaurant. Feel sorry for the servers who work here if they have this type of management support. read more

This place was great for many years, however recently I have had terrible experiences. Be careful not to complain to the bartenders. They seem to get their feelings hurt easily and will deny service if there is anything you disagree with. Also, it seems like the bartenders run the business instead of the owners which is honestly sad. Would recommend going to the square for good local food and a beer instead of this place. You'll get treated better and get better food. If you're looking for a crummy bar with below average service from the bar then Johnny B's is for you. Not a good place to take your family to eat, or to be treated like a decent person. Their wings are good but not worth the atmosphere. I've been treated better and had better food in smaller towns. Every time I go to Johnny B's I think, "Maybe this time it wont be horrible". And, every time, I deeply regret going to this establishment. The food is obviously quickly made with little care for flavor or presentation. You can tell they use the cheapest ingredients possible. It ALWAYS smells like old beer and urine. The bathrooms are DISGUSTING. The floors, counters, and tables are always sticky with old alcohol spills. The staff is rude (WILL scream and curse at customers) and completely unorganized. When you try to drink the tap beer, it ALWAYS taste like they haven't cleaned the hoses in about a year. And, to top it off, there is always underage college students there just standing around awkwardly in everyone's way not ordering food or drinks. All of this is an easy fix, but you can just tell the management does not care about its customers or bar and that they are just skating by right now. I hope one day this place FINALLY gets shut down by the health department or Lumpkin police. DISGUSTING. read more
