Hmmm, I showed her the special Johnny Carinos offers on-line and TV commercial and that we called and were told yes, they do offer that special. She said we can talk to the manager if we want, but nothing she could do. We did notice the restaurant was not busy on a Saturday night, I can see why. We decided, let's just have dinner and never come back. I would not recommend this location as they will not offer the specials available, the manager omits items to save money. If anyone decides to go, be sure to ask exactly what you get from one of their specials and if it's not what is advertised, turn around and leave, you will not get what you think you will pay for. Worst Service! It's getting worse and worse! We were seated and for 30 minutes sat there with zero attention. It was ridiculous. No one came up to us. When they finally come around our aisle, we were ignored. SAD. While checking the menu I noticed prices were outrageous for the lack of service. I'm surprised they're still operating. We had an amazing time. Honestly we were about to go elsewhere, but this was closer and to be honest, we just craved the bread and the olive oil. It was just so great. That's my favorite part.. When we got there we ordered some drinks and I was curious if they sold bottles of wine, which the host was so nice to get the information for me even though she didn't know. Did I mention she was new and she was wonderful?? All of the food was amazing. Don't get me started on dessert. If you're looking for the best Tiramisu? It's here, in my opinion. Lunch yesterday. The new steak and shrimp meal is far from what they show on TV - of course dummy! I asked for a medium rare steak. What I received was a disfigured over cooked piece of very low quality meat - i wish i would have taken a pic. I was ok with the poor quality of food because the lessons that I was getting reminded of were far more valuable - you get what you pay for. Also, next time, i need to avoid the place that has an almost empty parking lot. Chill's was packed! The waiter did bring it to the manager's attention but he or she said that because I took two bites they couldn't do anything. They did offer me ice cream, which was very nice but I politely refused. Just before I came up to the counter, she did the same from another party that had 9. I went with a group of friends because I have lived nearby for years and never once thought to go, so I said, hey, what the heck? The four of us arrived and were seated immediately; it was not the busy Friday night one expects. The decor gave off a combination of Olive Garden and Chili's. The menu had many different choices, from burgers to pizza, but my comrades and I chose to share two large pizzas. We also asked for three beers in the largest glasses they had. The beer was as cold as any beer should be, no complaints there. The pizza arrived about 10 minutes later, and it looked pretty good at first glance. I don't know if it was the alcohol, but the pizza seemed delectable. However, on the first few bites, you could tell something was wrong. The cheese on the pizza tasted off and was reminiscent of the many frozen pizzas I've had from those Lean Cuisines that promise to make pizza healthy. The cheese had the texture of previously frozen cheese. The sauce was nothing to write home about either; it was between flavorless and ketchupy. The crust was okay. The ambiance of the restaurant was on point, though. I looked around and noticed a retinue of barflies watching the basketball game. I could see myself with a group of friends watching the Dodgers and drinking beers until I was brave enough to order their pizza again. The beer was cold and plentiful, which is what I like. However, I think the remedy for improvement must be applied to their pizza cooking, not their excellent bar. The service was also very attentive, but it was also a very empty Friday night, so there wasn't any pressure, really. I would like to go back and maybe try the plethora of items they have on their menu. However, the primary reason I would go back is to find a nice empty seat near the bar and enjoy the Dodgers game. Suddenly, about an hour later, I felt a little sick to my stomach from what I assume was the pizza. I felt the tummy rumbles, as my dear friends say. I couldn't believe it. I was betrayed. The pizza had its last laugh. I awoke the next morning to sickness in both my heart and my digestive system. The pizza from this establishment had given me the runs. Personally, my family and I enjoy Johnny Carinos. We come here 2x a month to enjoy Italian fare. We have no complaints as the servers are always kind and attentive, and the food is always hot and fresh. It's like they know us already. My favorite dish? The wait staff is inattentive at best... very, very slow. The food was less than appealing. The eggplant parmigiana was over cooked to the point that it was alike cutting through meat and the breading was completely blackened. The steak was half medium rare and half medium well. The lasagna was salty and unappealing. Although the spaghetti was cooked al dente, the sauce tasted like peppers were its main ingredient. The best part of the meal was the salad. Wow this place looked so run-down and dead. Which was unfortunate because we really wanted some Italian food this night. From the moment we walked you can tell it wasn't busy. When we spoke with the host we were told it was a 30 minute wait. I was surprised to hear that considering the fact that it was pretty empty, they're were plenty of open tables.
