I called and the manager said we didn't have a pizza as a part of your order. He understood my distress and took my order over the phone and quickly accommodated my family and sent us our pizza in 20 minutes. i ordered through grub hub, but it still seemed to be their delivery person not a grub hub driver. they rang the bell after i instructed them not to. the pizza was good but the spices were only in the middle of the pizza. the vodka sauce was good but the pasta was overcooked. the bread was loose in the bag that had the other items in it. the utensils i was given were from an airplane. it had the delta logo on it. so god knows where they came from or who put them there. overall, not a great experience. read more

Pizza hard to pick up wen fresh outve oven . Crust needs be little thicker on bottom and maybe tell customers let it cool for at least five minutes . Also ask that bottom is brown or coooked well done on bottom so it's not so weak to pick up . It was just falling down wen picking it up .but it's was very tasty just needs to be fixed . read more

Food was absolutely delicious!! Garlic knots are the best I have had in NJ!! I recently moved to NJ and ordered from this place for the first time the night we moved in. Though a little pricey, I can still give it up for Johnny Napkins. We've since ordered regularly and plan to continue doing so. The food always comes as indicated but more frequently sooner than expected. We have ordered here twice in the last two weeks because we enjoyed the pizza so much. This is perfect if you're in the mood for some solid American pizza. We tried the classic and the Lil Grandma pizza. Dough, sauce, and cheese are all really great. Not too greasy, proportions are good, crust is perfect. The pesto on the Lil Grandma pizza was impressive and not too garlicky - you could actually taste the ingredients. I ordered on Yelp/Grub Hub and my phone froze so my order went through but I wasn't ready for it to send, if that makes sense. Come to find out, they don't deliver to my office. And since the order was partially ready I couldn't cancel. The establishment is 11 mins from my office so I just picked it up. This place is super close to my office and because of proximity and price, they are always one of my choices when I have to order in. I absolutely love their monster sandwiches, pasta dinner are in humongous portions and even the lady delivery driver provides speedy service, one time she even called to let us know our food was running late because of traffic. My wife and I decided we wanted to make our evening a pizza night and since moving to this town, we made it a point to try different pizza places. Most were your standard fair but I was impressed with Johnny Napkins the second I placed an order. A little bit about the place... It's located on Morris Ave and I remember it by it's former name Lil John's Pizza. It's one of those places that stands out because the original signage had an illustration similar to a character on that show "King of the Hill." I always found that amusing. Well, in a few months the signage changed to "Johnny Napkins." Original and so Jersey! I like it. Reminds me of my Italian friends growing up. Anyway, I placed my order on Seamless.com and since I use that site often, I was immediately impressed. (except, i couldn't find drinks on that menu online) I selected pickup and was given a time when my order would be ready. You know what, the time was accurate. Since this place in on a busy street, parking is located in the back. The signage back there still has the old Lil John illustration (yes!) and once inside, you'll notice this place is kinda nice. Actually, probably the nicest looking pizza joint in town. I go up to the counter and the owner immediately greets me. I tell him I have a pickup and he acknowledges that I was the online order. That's me! He was very friendly btw. That's always a plus. Turns out their Seamless deal is new so he seemed happy someone was using it. If you read this, I love it! Hope they aren't charging you too much for the service. I got a large cheese pizza and decided to try their Napkin Fries. Wow, it was delicious. The sauce on the pizza is what really put this over the top over the other joints in the area. And the fries, amazing. It had cheese and bacon. You can't go wrong with that. Just like some reviewers have said, Johnny Napkins used to be Lil Jons Pizza and it is the same owner. Sometimes it is smart to revamp, as it caught my attention and I had never been to Lil Jons anyway. I ordered : Ceaser Salad with a side of balsamic dressing as well as the ceaser dressing Calzone with Pepperoni and no overload on the ricotta The johnny napkin chicken parmasian sandwich ( which is vodka sauce instead of marinara) I ordered via grubhub, which is very convenient to me and it normally makes miscommunication less. When I saw my wait time was 60-70 minutes, I had to call to confirm because that looked ridiculous. The man that answered the phone was very nice and said its not going to be that long. It wasn't , came in about 45 minutes. He also was curious about how grubhub works and also mentioned to me my " light on the ricotta" request. I was pleased with the attention to detail and he hoped I enjoyed the food. Now I eat out a lot and I am picky, and sometimes that doesn't always work for me. But he should know that I did enjoy the taste of what I received:) I received: Ceaser salad with 2 sides of ceaser dressing , no balsamic dressing Calzone with pepperoni and I didn't see any ricotta at all, (however this could be my fault. I can be picky and sometimes when you say things like "not too much" it makes a place afraid to put any) A regular chicken parm sandwich ... It had marinara sauce. Despite all 3 things not being "exactly" what I ordered, my boyfriend and I ate the food :) The calzone had a nice dough , and was the perfect size for me. Some pizzeria's make them huge. I paid 1.50 to add pepperoni to it, so it's kind of like a build your own calzone because they only make a cheese one and everything is additional. Their could have been a few more slices of pepperoni , simply because it's an extra cost to the customer. My boyfriend had the chicken parm, he said it was tasty , but aside from it not being vodka sauce, the marinara sauce was kind of dry. I would say that I would order here again and try something else, I would probably get a pizza and try that , and maybe burgers another time. Im been visiting family in Hillside and been disappointed with the pizza here. I decided to try Johnny Napkins from the reviews and gave it a shot. Hands down, the best pizza , I was blown away by the taste, and even the look, oh I cant forget the perfect crust that brought me back to the New York style slices. You don't have to take my word for it , but all my family and friends were convinced too, so that should say something. I also tried the zeppoles, two for two for taste and texture, they looked like donut pillows and weren't oily like other zeps , you have to have them with coffee.
