If you're looking for something quick maybe eat here but otherwise it's a waste of money. Food has no flavor and the place is filthy. The servers go between handling cash and credit cards and then immediately go to helping the fry cook by handling buns, cheese, and bacon all by hand without washing and without gloves. The only guy wearing gloves was the busser, who also bounced between bussing tables and touching food with the same gloves and without washing. The cook never used gloves and touched everything from the cheese to the patties and buns with hand and at one point even grabbed uncooked bacon from the fridge with his hands and then immediately went to grab buns and cheese to assemble another order. There were about 6 different rags strewn about on food contact surfaces and not one ever made it back into a sanitizer bucket, just smearing old food all over the place. At one point the cook used his main tongs to grab the paper sheets off the raw burger patties and then pressed down the trash with them as well before setting them back on the cooktop. The server later came to help and used the same tongs to grab cooked bacon to put on top of a burger he was plating. The fry cook, a few minutes later, used the same tongs to grab onions out of his cold tray to heat up for an order. Absolutely zero systems or regard for public health. read more

I wish I read the other reviews before dining here. After my husband got food poisoning, I decided to see what other reviewers had to say. Guess he wasn't the only one. Like the other reviewers noted, the place just seemed off. I wish I listened to my instincts and walked out. The restaurant didn't seem clean and it seemed like the servers didn't really care. We've been to other Johnny Rocket locations and they were fine. This one in the Gardenwalk is definitely sub par and I agree it's bringing down the area. Will never be back. read more

Happy days at Johnny's A young couple was walking down Main Street arguing with each other. The young lady got frustrated with her boyfriend and just walked away from him and went into a restaurant. He wanted to make up with her so he went in there after her. He met her inside and they waited for someone to help them find a seat. They where greeted by a young lady who was very kind and friendly. The hostess found them a comfortable booth and told them to have a good time. As they were sitting, they heard a song by Elvis being played throughout the whole restaurant. The couple looked at each other and smiled because they both really liked that song. The restaurant that this couple went to is in Florida and is called Johnny Rockets, a restaurant that brings people happiness. The restaurant Johnny Rockets is a unique place. The colors of the restaurant are red, white, and yellow. On the outside there are some tables for customers to eat at. On the inside, there is a long bar were you can sit and eat by yourself and even watch the cooks make the food. At each booth there is a juke box for you to put a nickel in and select a song. There is also a straw holder that the waiter or waitress opens for you to get a straw as if you were a five-old kid. It makes many people happy to be waited on so well because you don't always get that. In the article Goodwill Hunting it says "'See?' Udemba says triumphantly. ' The Panthers didn't exist until the 1990s. So you know it wasn't made before that.'". The article tells us how you can tell what the date of something is by looking for something distinctive like the Panther head. By looking at Johnny Rockets you can tell it is resembling the 40s and 50s by the juke boxes. Johnny Rockets is definitely at the top of my list when it comes to service. One of the main reasons why I like eating here so much is because of the upbeat atmosphere. With the friendly service of the waiters and waitresses and the singing and dancing they sometimes do makes this place just as fun as hanging out with your friends. This is a great place because it is the only one of its kind. I have yet to eat in another place like it. This restaurant takes us back to the 40's and 50's and reminds us how much fun they had back then. Johnny Rockets is like a time machine, it takes us back in time to see what it was like in the past. The only downfall of the restaurant is that you don't get much food. The burgers are not that big and you only get a small serving of fries. The burgers are about the size of McDonalds but the taste of Johnny Rockets is much better. One thing I do like is that you get a good amount of a chocolate shake if you order one. The prices at Johnny Rockets are a little high compared to a McDonalds or Burger King but are average compared to a Fridays or Applebee's. Like the movie Afluenza, people expect good service and good food from the big food chains, but once the get the service they are not satisfied. At Johnny Rockets your expectations are met. Although the amount of food you get is small and the price maybe above average, the taste of the food and the happiness the store brings you makes it worth it to go there. I love the way the restaurant looks. The design and colors of the store are just as good as any others. I really like how they use a lot of chrome. I think the chrome makes things look good. Most of the restaurant is red and white which makes the restaurant feel lively. I think the restaurants good looks contributes to having a good time while you are there. One of the main reasons why I like Johnny Rockets is because of the oldies music they play. When I was younger, my mother would listen to oldies while I was in the car and I enjoyed listening to them then. So the only time I really get to hear oldies now is when I go to Johnny Rockets. It makes me happy to hear those great songs again. The other reasons that I like Johnny Rockets is because of the great tasting food, great service, and the dancing they do. Really good burgers, philly cheese steaks, salads, & fries. We were a family of 8 eating here they took our orders real fast and the food came out pretty quick. The kids loved the ketchup smiley face that came with their fries. The teenager in our group loved their milkshakes and she would give them a 5 star just for the Milkshake. Went to the Anaheim Gardenwalk Mall and was in the mood for hamburger and fries. I saw that the Johnny Rockets was on the top and looked crowed. When I got there, I noticed that there was a line coming out of the restaurant. The establishment is a bit small, and seating is limited. I guess because of its proximity to Disneyalnd, it was crawling with tourists (like myself). It was about 10 minutes before I could put my order in and was certain that they would forget my order because the waiters, cooks, and other employees are working at very fast pace. It was borderline chaos in there, but to my surprise, my order came up with no mistakes. I ordered the Rocket Double and as a bit disappointed that it was smaller than I expected. The taste, however, made up for the lack of size. There is some outside seating, however, its difficult to get a table. (I went during dinner). Pros: Good taste, service is good despite the fast pace chaotic atmosphere Cons: Limited seating, a bit squishy and cramped while waiting inside for my order. If you are at the Anaheim Garden Walk and youre hungry for a burger, Johnny Rockets is the place to go. One more star if there were more seating for our party of 7. We would have loved to have dined in and take in the atmosphere that Johnny Rockets is known for. read more

Was told they don't have filtered water. Water smelled like ocean water and was foggy. The sandwich we ordered didn't come with any sauce and was so dry. The waiter only said "oh". I should have known when I saw the outside of this place- dull and drab - what to expect but I gave it a try anyway....Big mistake! HUGE!! I had an Original burger and onion rings. The staff was very unfriendly and unenthusiastic. The place reeked of over used oil. My onion rings were gooey inside! As for my burger, it tasted like greasy relish. I am a fan of Johnny Rockets but this one is the worst- a nightmare. I will never be back. I've never been to a Johnny Rockets, and we do have one in my hometown. We couldn't find a place to eat on a Saturday night, and discovered this restaurant tucked waaaaaaaaaaaay in the back of the shopping center. It's noisy, it's busy but we were hungry and grateful to find a restaurant. The burgers are just okay. Nothing special. When I eat burgers, I love char-grilled ones, and that's not what you get here. Our service was good, and I marveled at how hard the kitchen staff was working. I don't think I'd make a special trip to eat at one of these again. read more

We were in Disneyland and were looking for a place to eat when we came here. I remember the employees being more 50's style, they had a dance routine that made this place fun and entertaining, the tabletop nickel jukeboxes played the songs you payed for and not a few songs that are played over and over. They have outdoor seating but good luck with that, it seems like they don't like going outside to serve. They take their time and I heard one guy tell a customer You order in here and you can take your food out there But he did go out for that tip. The food was not that good. Fries were hard and burger ok if you're hungry. I been to other locations that deserve 5 stars but not this location. read more

Slow service from start to finish. We watched as tables next to us were seated then ignored for over 10 mintutes then eventually get up and leave. My party was there for over an hour because of the slow service. For some reason the fries and onion rings were served 15 minutes before the salads and mains. Though my sandwich was hot it was obviously neglected on the grill because if it was left on there 1 second longer it would have been burnt. The final annoyance of the experience was that they do not validate for parking. Great burger joint within walking distance to Anaheim Islander Hotel. Stopped in on a weekday afternoon. The strip mall and Johnny Rockets were completely empty; weird but I'm guessing this is a fairly new shopping center. Our party of 10 was warmly greeted and accommodated by pulling tables together etc. The food was great, and one of the employees made balloon animals for the kids without "soft selling" tips (we did anyway). I don't have a problem with Johnny Rocket's in general BUT I do have problems with $ 8+ burgers. The Swiss cheese & mushroom burger was OK, good even but for that kind of money I'll buy a pack of Angus beef patties and some sweet bread burger buns & feed the family. The choco malt was sinfully good but again this place is pricey for what it is. The service was good , server was a nice girl who checked on us every so often. But if I didn't have a Garden Walk $25 gift card to kill I doubt I'd have gone. BTW, what is up with the ghost town Garden Walk mall??!! Oh! Before I forget, this place only has ONE booth. Ok, first time, first impression when i walked in, dirty floor, greasy looking chair and tables.. Greasy smell.. Im not a clean freak but this place is really greasy and dirty! I dont even feel like sitting down and touching anything, the menu is really gross too, it was greasy and there was ...."meat stain" on it ! so i took my order outside, i had philly cheese steak and it wad very taste less and wayyyyy! Wayyyyy! Too oily and greasy! Its like dripping oil ! And yes ! Oil not the meat juice or w.e , my fingers are all "coated" with oil and all i can taste is oil! This Johnny Rockets is hit or miss. It is a small restaurant but they usually seem to be short staff and the ones they do have a are always running around. The food is always great. I believe Disney cast members get a discount with cast ID. They are located across from the movie theater. Good for small groups not really big groups unless you like sitting outside. read more

We came here all the way from San Fransisco! I was born and raised in Anaheim CA and moved away before this Johnny Rockets opened and now I'm back for a visit at Disneyland with my family to enjoy Disney and a great meal and was very happy with the overall experience! Our last night visiting the big rat (Mickey Mouse) and decided to eat close to the other big rat (Worldmark time share). We decided on Johnny rockets. Customer service was excellent. They were busy, but staff immediately got us seated and our order taken. Food was really good and prices extremely reasonable.
