If I could give this place -120 stars, I would. The only reason I'm up & on a computer right now is because of the IV I just had stuck in my arm a couple hours ago. Which was right before my over night hospital stay for the worst case of food poisoning I have ever experienced in my life. Now, I wonder where I got this horrendous case of food poisoning....oh, right that would be Johnny Rockets. Never order a tuna melt from this ghost town of a Johnny Rockets, I only had 2 bites of it when I realized "hmm, this mayo or tuna tastes a bit funny" returned it and got a salad instead. Even from just those two bites, I have spent the past 3 1/2 days throwing up every liquid my body has ever stored. Not only was the service horrible, the milkshakes disgusting, and the food drowned in grease, I do believe since their location is so rarely visited, most of the ingredients have been stored there for god knows how long. Anyways, I've learned my lesson, it was my fault for thinking somewhere with a ridiculously stupid name like Johnny Rockets could serve anything good, let alone sanitary. read more

Route 66 IS A MUST! I couldn't believe the flavor in my mouth, if you're a mushroom and cheese lover like myself you are going to enjoy the flavor the burger gives off. My friends ordered original burgers/ bacon cheese which were both really good but nothing will beat Route 66. We needed a quick bite to eat and for a burger place that is fairly busy, they make the food quickly and cooked to perfection. The burger was so good that i forgot to take a picture of it. read more

The good: their shakes are BOMB! We got them on two separate occasions because they were so great. I'm not a huge fan of Johnny Rocket's because they're overpriced, but it was worth it this time. The bad: their service is slow and confusing. We walked in, waited, and wound up leaving once because nobody seated us or even acknowledged our existence. ... but we really wanted shakes so we tried again later, and succeeded! We love johnny rockets... We usually go to the orange block location but decided to try out garden walk. Big mistake! First, the restaurant is all the way in the back surrounded by empty stores. Once we sat the server didn't acknowledge or greet us for at least 10minutes. Looking around I notice there are only 3 people working; the cook, the shake maker and one server. This was on a Thursday night. Our burgers took average time BUT our kids food never came! The server never came back to check on us... My kids were very dissapointed. Usually we get balloons, shakes, watch the servers dance. To top it off when we tried to get our parking validated the server said they don't validate! Such a bad experience, we are sure never to come back to this terrible location. read more

Came here with my bf, sister, and her bf Sat. night b/c we wanted something fast as our movies was in an hour and this was the closest restaurant to the theater, and if you've ever been to the Garden Walk there isn't much going on in the back where the theater is. I like Johnny Rockets, there burgers taste homemade and I really enjoyed their sourdough batter onion ring and that is saying a lot as I HATE onions and their AYCE fries deal is pretty cool too. I had their Chicken Club sandwich and it was yummy! The chicken was moist, the beacon was cook perfectly, and the portion was pretty good. I recommend this place if your hungry and need some time to kill before your movie. read more

This place is in a shopping center UNDER construction and is difficult to find. Just look for the House of Blues on your GPS. The underground parking is scary at best and exits are not clearly marked. The food was fine as it goes. The ambiance left much to be desired. It's run by two non-English speaking little gentlemen in dirty smocks who seem to alternate between cleaning the toilet and serving the food (blech!). You have to ask for water and the fries are $5, which is more than twice as much as the other location, just two miles away. Expect a shake down when the meal arrives. The place is not dirty but it is unclean, especially the bathrooms. You have to request water and a menu. I had the feeling they had fired all the regular wait staff to save money, and so the guy who takes out the garbage, and cleans the bathroom, was asked to step in to be a server. It's supposed to be a 50s diner but has more of a skid row feel to it. NOT THE BEST FOOT FORWARD. Maybe they think all the foreign tourists who visit Disneyland won't notice. They seem to be mostly focused on soaking the foreign tourists for charges. OH, AND DON'T FORGET TO GET YOUR PARKING VALIDATED. read more

Disclaimer: I am not a fan of Johnny Rockets. I know they are popular and all but I just can't find my seat on the bandwagon. The girlfriend, J, and I stopped in here for a quick pre-movie lunch. The half dozen or so other Johnny Rockets I have been to didn't live up to expectations but I attributed that to those specific locations (The Spectrum, Westwood, HB, etc). In theory Johnny Rockets should work for me but it doesn't. On my latest failed attempt to achieve hamburger nirvana I decided to take a more radical approach to my ordering. I went with the bacon cheddar single and substituted grilled onions for fresh onions and then added a fried egg. The fried egg is my cheat for a lot of dishes and I was convinced that it would be the difference maker for Johnny Rockets. After all, I LOVE a good fried egg sandwich and this was definitely a step in that direction. Sadly the egg only improved the burger slightly but didn't win me over completely. However the grill man did manage to fry an excellent over medium egg with perfectly not too runny yolk. His efforts are the only reason this isn't a 1-star review. My other problem with Johnny Rockets are their fries and onion rings. Why can't you people learn to season the fries and onion rings?!?!? I am not a religious person but I do know that God invented the salt shaker for a reason. I believe failing to use said salt shaker liberally and generously after food is pulled from the fryer is one of the seven deadly sins. Bland is a deadly sin, isn't it? I'm sure that the struggling Anaheim Gardenwalk needs all of the help they can get to bring in the cash but Johnny Rockets isn't the answer for getting extra dinero out of my pocket. I dig the movie theater next door but on my next visit I'll probably eat before I get there. Life's too short to settle for inferior burgers and fries. read more

In my opinion.... The food was disgusting. I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from biting into that chicken club sandwich. I gizzled a few sodas to get that taste out if my mouth, and it still wasn't enough. I literally spit the one bite into my napkin drank my dr. Pepper and left hungry. I didn't trust another item in that menu. I didn't ask for a refund. I should have, but didn't want to insult the only 2 staff members in there. The chicken I bit into was like rubber. This Johnny Rockets wasn't too clean. It felt a little dirty eating here. The seating was a bit uncomfortable. My first time here at Johnny, and I had no idea adding fries meant you're paying for the unlimited fries. I initially thought my burger came with fries, and to make it unlimited it was an extra $2. The waitress did not tell me this, and I had no clue. The Rocket Double did make an impact. It had good flavor; I was impressed and satisfied. However, their Oreo milkshakes was not impressive. It was a bit watery and not very memorable. In conclusion, okay service, good burger, and ehh milkshakes. Maybe another JR may have given me a better experience. read more

The good thing about Johnny Rockets is that it is dependable. You know what you'll be getting when ordering. I like dependable when you need to make a quick decision. Ryan P and I stopped here after attending a bridal show in the Sheraton down the street. After fighting through Disney traffic (can people move any slower?), we parked in the Gardenwalk and made our way up to JR. We were looking for PF Changs, but I guess that closed and there are maybe a handful of other restaurants at this dead mall. No wait which wasn't a surprise. We decided on the bar to sit at as the tables with were really cramped. Our server, Julio, was really good. We started with Sprites and Iced Teas which were continuously refilled without asking! We also shared an order of the 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings. Those onion rings are like no other because they had a sourdough bread crumb crust. It made a difference. For our lunch we each chose sandwiches. She got the Streamliner, which was made on a boca burger. I chose the #12 with a turkey patty. In fact, all the sandwiches could be made with turkey or veggie burger which is nice. You could build your own as well. Service was fast and good. Our sandwiches were really flavorful. Believe it or not, this was my first experience with a Johnny Rocket's, despite the fact that I have had one near my house for the past few years. My mom, sister and I were taking a break from the hustle and bustle of Disneyland this past May, and took a stroll down to Anaheim Garden Walk. Now, we were somewhat disappointed by the venue this establishment was located in itself (it looked desolate) but the second we stepped into this Johnny's, we knew we picked the right place! We took a seat up at the bar and were greeted by a very friendly server. She told us about the specials, which we all ended up ordering - some kind of cheeseburger with fries and drink meal, if I recall - and I ordered a diet chocolate coke. HEAVEN! In fact, since then, I've recreated the phenomenom at home... Anywho, the burgers were juicy and were ordered up quickly. I liked the smiley faced ketchup art, too, that was a fun touch! By the end of the meal, we had leftovers, but my sister decided to splurge and order a milkshake - soooo indulgent and yummy! This is definitely not a place to go if you're watching calories, but if you're looking for a 'worth it' splurge, I would recommend a visit! read more

Everytime I eat at Johnny Rockets, I remember why I dont usually plan to come back. The food is medicore. I tried a spicy burger with jalapeno's and had a milk shake. in and outs milk shakes are more appeasing to my palate. However we were catching a movie at the theater near by and we figured this would be fast and convenient. Our waiter (didnt catch his name) was excellent. My friends and I pre-purchased tickets for the new Hunger Games movie. Since we on a bit of a time crunch we decided to have dinner here. You do not want to be hungry while watching The Hunger Games. The restaurant looked a little packed, which is to be expected since the theater was going to be showing a popular movie. There were only 3 people working that day. We were greeted and took a seat and waited to place our order. One of my friends was just getting off work so I was going to order for her too. It took almost 30 minutes to place our order. By the time my friend met up with us, the order was on the table. We had to keep asking for refills and we even got up a few times to get the attention of our server. I've been to tons of Johnny Rockets from LA to SD. As a chain restaurant, the food and service is very inconsistent. *Service: 2, waiter that looked like Michael Cera was nice and prompt, manager was mean. He kept on yelling at people: workers, people that kept coming in because they didn't know the place was closing. Luckily he had said we were the last customers, and started yelling at everyone after us. *Chicken Club Sandwich: 2, just didn't taste good, very dry, though the fries were good *Route 66: 4, good and basic burger. you really can't mess it up. I probably will come again because it is right next door to the theater and it's quick food, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

We've been to this place about a dozen times, so this is a cumulative review. It's location is so isolated that I can't believe it's still open. We often eat here when we go to the Ultra Star movie theatre. Every time we've been here, the employees are prompt and friendly. We've had burgers, fries, onion rings, chicken salad, milk shakes. The food is decent, and very consistent. We don't go here for gourmet burgers, but it's nice to know you will get a decent burger every time. The onion rings are very good, but the $4.99 price for 1/2 fries & 1/2 rings is a little pricy for the amount you get. The milk shakes are always tasty. There is not a lot of indoor seating, but it's nice to sit outside when the weather is nice. We often sit at the counter, too. Overall, it's worth the price. read more

Wow. Let me just say this place is delicious. Definitely a hidden gem in the Anaheim gardens. The food is freaking amazing and fresh, the burgers are huge and delicious. Went here last November while visiting the World's Favorite Mouse, and loved it. Ordered a shake, fries, and veggie burger, everything was delish but the shake was absolutely phenomenal! Only complaint was that it was packed, and it was unclear whether we were to go up to the bar area or wait for a waiter to bring us a menu. Maybe it was just us, we are a bit slow sometimes. =) It was also pouring rain, so that could attribute to the not-so fantastic service. Would recommend!! read more
