One great thing about this restaurant's location is that parking is abundant and this place doesn't seem to be very busy. In fact, the only complaint that I have about this location is that there's only one booth. the rest is basically counter seating. Service is friendly and efficient. It better be though as there's usually wasn't anyone else dining on both instances that a friend and I dropped in. The burgers are decent sized and somewhat juicy. The prices tend to be on the higher end thus both times we visited, we made sure to have coupons otherwise we'd be paying more, for burgers that we can find for less, that taste much better. Went to Jonny rockets the first night in Anaheim. Place was kind of busy. We were greeted, and given menus. Great friendly staff. One thing we noticed because we had a full view of the open kitchen, it was spotless and noticed that all of the staff took pride in their clean establishment. All of them were busy but always cleaning and wiping stuff down. The food was outstanding! Great burgers, bacon cheese tater tots, and shakes. I've been to a Johnny Rockets once about 10 years ago. I needed a quick bite before a concert at House of Blues and decided to try it again. It wasn't busy but was only 5pm so it seemed to pick up later in the evening. I noticed they had food cooking but it was not ordered yet so I guess it helps speed up the process. My burger only took a couple minutes to be ready and the beef patty wasn't too hot. So it clearly wasn't freshly cooked. All I ordered was an Original Burger with no mayo. It ended up having a ton of mustard though. It was a bit bland. I noticed they put salt and pepper in my to go bag so maybe they don't season it on purpose? The bun was good though. It reminded me of an A&W style burger. But it also cost $7.42 with tax for just the burger. I don't know if that is normal prices or because it is it near Disney. But I'd say it was way too much for what it is. Also, I heard they did cast member discounts but they said no this time. Some of the specialty burgers looked good but cost almost $10 so I passed. That's a lot for a fast food burger. The service was at least very friendly. The guys working were very nice. I came here after watching a free kid movie "Spookly the Square Pumpkin" at the Luxe theatre next door this past weekend. I was able to get free tix online but I can't seem to find them now. The waiter was non existent. Luckily the cook took our orders since we were sitting close to him and the storage area. When asked about the deal, he told me to ask the waiter. No problem. So next time when the waiter came, he delivered our drinks. When I was about to ask on the deal (I thought it would be polite to ask before he put in the order), he was already gone. So the next interaction with him was getting the check. We had gotten our food quite fast. BTW, the food here is fresh, I LOVE the fries. They do come unsalted just the way I like them. The Original Burger $5.99 is delicious and the cheese steak sandwich $9.99 was awesome as well. All hot and juicy, nothing spectacular but it was really fresh. But when my check came, I was billed $7.79 for the original burger. When asked, I said why the price difference? The waiter told me that's how corporate charges when using these coupons. What BS! These aren't restaurant.com coupons with special restrictions! If customers paid for these , they should be use it like any other gift certificates. So now you know. Came here on a Sunday morning since I was attending an expo right outside and this was the only choice besides Fire&ice. Restaurant is pretty small but with the usual Johnny Rockets fun atmosphere. I ordered the tuna melt and a vanilla shake with malt. The tuna sandwich was a bit too oily, they put enough oil or butter to soak almost the whole bread. The tuna was ok. The shake was good but would have liked a bit more of the malt flavor. You can park in the structure and get an hour free parking. There's not much around the restaurant and the mall is pretty quiet. This place needs to close down and stop ruining the Disneyland/Anaheim area. It's also dragging down the Johnny Rockets brand as a whole. I had gone to other Jonny Rockers in the past and the services and food were good. This place hires way to many servers who just stand around not being helpful. We seated ourselves and waited 10 minutes before someone came by with menus. We only got one set of utensils and had to get up and ask for another set. The bathroom was filthy and the door wouldn't even lock. We were served on paper plates and it just felt like we were at a food market or street vendors. Half way through our meal, one very inexperienced server who was also rude came by and asked if we were about done and can he bring the check. It was very off putting and seemed like he wanted us to leave. I left the bill untouched as my hands were oily from holding the burger and he came by twice more and nudged us to pay. This place is tucked away in the far back of the mall! And it's a pretty small shop, I think it seats only 68??? It wasn't too busy the evening we went. It was the evening of the Disneyland Half Marathon, which was only blocks away from the Anaheim Gardenwalk. Actually, a family even walked out after a couple of minutes. Not sure why. The place is clean and the service was great. I ordered the smokehouse double. I was a little hungry that evening after having zero sleep until about noon...that's besides the point. The burger was a little on the sloppy side, but when you're pretty hungry, you overlook that kinda stuff. They tend to overcook the meat here, like every other Johnny Rockets I've been to. So if you want a medium, order medium rare. Was trying to find a place to eat after the blizzcon event and my hunnie told me he had never been to johnny rockets. So we decided to eat go there and it was located in the garden walk area. Which was kool cause we got two free hours of parking and its actually a nice place to go on for a date. Lots of restaurant and an outdoor shopping center. I order a juicy cheeseburger with a side salad with ranch sauce and David got the patty melt with their famous fries. The food came out so fresh and good. Each order were only $7 and we enjoy everything till the last bite. The service was really good too. They were all very helpful and the happy face ketchup made me smile. I have to say Anaheim Gardenwalk has tons of parking and $3 for that second hour of parking is a steal considering Disneyland is just next door. You can't go wrong with Johnny Rockets. We had the chicken club and the bottomless fries... satisfied sharing the meal with two. This place gets friggin' BUSY at lunch time, I was surprised to see only three people manning this place, considering after we entered about 30 people showed up. Been to Johnny Rockets plenty of times. Been to this location once. The Route 66 is my favorite, by far. It comes with swiss cheese and mushrooms. YUM!! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it haha. Anyway, the fries, shakes, burgers, and sandwiches are all great, but this location is pretty depressing. Also, their employees were all courteous, polite and what not, but were incredibly boring as if they hated their job or didn't really know how to genuinely engage guests and make them feel comfortable. For their awkwardness I deducted a star. Lastly, they don't validate parking, which sucks. We ended up paying $3 because the first hour is free. read more

Haven't been to this chain in years. We were staying the night at a hotel right by here for a show we were seeing that night at the House of Blues. This place has good affordable burgers. This was not my best experience at a Johnny Rockets. Maybe it's been too long... We don't visit often. Given the scenario I will give them props for the turn around time for the meal. We ordered and our food got to us within 15 minutes. They comped us $4 cause it took too long. My issue: I ordered the burger with no pickles. It gets delivered and it is slathered in pickles. I brought it to the servers attention and apologized (as I hate returning food) and said, "I asked for it with no pickles." He said no problem and returned to the kitchen. A few minutes later he comes back and says it's actually the relish that comes on the burger. UMMM..? Relish. Ok. I was like "Okay well I guess I'll figure it out." Now that my burger is cold... I was just a pretty bummed. The food was okay. I wasn't wild about the french fries either. About the same quality as a fast food joint. Nothing to write home about. Just left. My wife and I were at the "Little Haunted Shops" event and we went in to grab a bite. The setup inside is a bit claustrophobic and we ended up moving tables because everyone that went to the restroom had to squeeze between our table and the people sitting at the counter. We asked for 2 Boca burgers, fries and tater tots. Our server brought out our fries and tater tots pretty quickly. The burgers arrived 20 minutes later and were black bean patties NOT Boca Burgers. My wife's patty came in 2 pieces and one half of it fell out when she picked it up. My wife ordered a Burger and I ordered chicken tenders. The food tasted great, but after paying I turned my chair around to wait for the receipt and I noticed the cook was not wearing gloves eventhough the box was right next to him. He kept rubbing his nose and then grabbing buns and then getting lettuce and tomato and then rubbing his runny nose again. I waited for a bit to see if he continued to do that and for about 10 minutes and 6 plates of food he went on without gloves. I signed the receipt and left. Later that night my wife got sick with vomiting and the runs. I told her after she got sick what had happened at the restaurant. On a side note my chicken tenders were great and I didn't get sick. They should have retro corporate diner as one of the sub-categories of Restaurants. This place is fun. It's all about the ambiance. And the ambiance is indeed a good time. And the staff are generally nice and typically have a sense of humour. That being said - the food is corporate diner style -so think - Fryer. Good onion rings, fries, etc... They offer a variety of burgers, salads, hot dogs, sandwiches, etc. This is not gourmet and does not pretend to be. I at least enjoy their lack of pretense. They have chosen a niche and stuck with it. It just happens to be a niche I am not fond of. I typically only force these places on myself if someone I am friends with claims that they love it and that I must once again try it. I realize deep within myself that I won't like it - but I like to have them with me as I travel through the process. I think that restaurants should really pick up the pace & this place has got it! Good job to all the staff who were working their tails off to cook & serve us this amazing food. So, I had a basic Johnny Rockets burger with American cheese. I have to admit, it was THE BEST burger I have had in a very very long time. I used to go to a place in SF that used to be comparable to this burger. It has recently gone down hill & Johnny Rockets made their burger BETTER! I could not stop talking about how great this burger was through our entire dinner. It was just so juicy and fresh. My husband ordered the Patty Melt with grilled onions and American & cheddar cheeses on grilled rye bread. He liked his meal but said it was on the bland side. He tried my burger and wished he had ordered what I had. My kids had the 2 mini hot dogs with fries. They were gone quickly so I'm assuming they were happy with their meal. After experiencing the great service and cleanly environment of the locations at the Irvine Spectrum and Laguna Beach, I was appalled at what I beheld at this sad GardenWalk location. Dirty plates, dirty tables, terrible service. I ordered the Brownie Sundae and received an old, cold brownie with flavorless ice cream and congealed hot fudge atop it. I asked them if I could have a warm brownie, to which the server responded, "It's not warm?" I'm not sure what to make of that, but the second brownie I received was at least lukewarm... By FAR, it's the smallest Johnny Rockets I've ever been in. My wife and I came here after arriving in town for a few days, and it happened to be Valentines Day. Every other dining establishment in a 20 mile radius was packed, but this one little restaurant had a few vacant seats. And that's saying a lot, considering that they probably only have 30 or so seats in the entire venue. The food is typical American burger fare, with 50's style malts and shakes. Nothing surprising, to be honest, but if you're just craving basic good food, then this should be on your short list. read more
