my friend and i were in dire need of sustenance after a 5m hike, but she requested no IHOP. yelp pointed us to john's place, and it served. what i ate: - daily special: sausage (4) + eggs (3) w/hashbrowns + english muffin: sausages were savory and oily, hash browns were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. eggs were a slight dissappointment; i asked for over medium, and only 1 of the 3 eggs was actually over medium. no worries, i still ate everything (oink oink). pros: - price: just a little more than $6.50 for my meal. what a steal! i suppose the price can be cheap because there is no real wait service. you order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. - food: my meal was delicious, but i suppose it's difficult to really mess up breakfast - friendly servers: took my order with a smile. a few servers walked by to top off coffee cups, and take away plates - plenty of parking - seemed like lunch and dinner items were also available during breakfast, but i'm not sure if breakfast was served all day - food came out very quickly cons: - small menu. though the menu had all your classic breakfast favorites, nothing was super imaginative or special. this is basically any typical IHOP/denny's diner, but this is based purely on breakfast. would i come again? eh. probably not. read more

Let's put it this way...Johns place offers a wide variety of different food groups and cultures. Ranging from Greek, American to Mexican and the food groups are all done exceptionally well. Mon-Fri they offer breakfast special starting at $4.89, 2 hot cakes, egg, and choice of bacon or sausage. The gyro is a must try, fries are steak cut and always fresh. Get this, they also serve breakfast all day. It's the kind of place where you can get anything on the menu at anytime of the day and it's always very good. They also have a full salad bar, I would say the only down fall for you catered individuals is it's a self seat and self served place with no servers just take your number and they deliver the food. Definitely not coming back! Service sucks! Food takes 20-30 minutes to get. When we finally got the food it was hardly anything. You get just one slice for French toast, when my husband asked about it they said that's the way it is with the combo. The scrambled eggs was like scraps. When another customer next to us who seemed to know the workers around got the same combo she got 2 slices of French toast and full of scrambled eggs. I guess you have to know people here or be the right color! There's other places around with better service and better serving sizes. read more

The menu here is good. American and Mexican food. Decent salad bar. Everything we have ordered has been delicious. I especially love the atmosphere. Fresh flowers on the tables, family friendly safe music playing. They do have TV screens as well. Definitely worth you time and money. read more

Went there and ordered a breakfast, it was about 2pm, no customers in the place. I asked the coffee be in a regular cup and went to sit in the windy outdoor patio area. The server came out and just DROPPED THE PLATES IN FRONT OF ME! never looked, just ran back in. NO follow up, coffee. They have very disgruntled women working there, they are rude and this young server was rude. Geeze, they earn $14 per hour now! I told her people have choices where to spend their money, and she was rude and didn't care. She said go ahead a d leave your review and you don't have to come back! Sorry John, your should have handled this type of issue in the past as they are running the customers off! I won't be back! Bad service is the worst. read more

We just moved to the area and were looking for a cheap and quick breakfast the day after we moved into town. I Yelped this place. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to you. Husband got the steak and eggs. He said it was good but nothing special. I had the 3 egg breakfast. Same thing, good but nothing special. It was about $6 for mine and $7 or $8 for his. So average pricing, similar to Denny's. Restaurant was clean and service was polite but not especially friendly. Breakfast burrito, leave out the meat and potatoes, add avocado, and you have a meal that is soooooooo filling. The avocado omelet is equally as good. In fact, all of the food that I have eaten here over the many years have all been good. Simple family styled burger joint with a good menu to choose from. Been going to this place for years and have tried a lot of their menu. the staff is always friendly. From breakfast to burgers to sandwiches to chicken strips, this place has it all. They even have a salad bar inside. Their omeletes are delicious but very cheesy. Burgers are always freshly made and beat a fast food burger anyday. I like going here when I am just so tired that I can't deal with thinking about what to eat or my husband and I can't agree on anything. They have the best greek gyro for a "dive" restaurant and the greek owner takes pride in his food, buying the best olives he can get his hands on. They offer mexican, breakfast all day, greek, american, etc. My husband loves the chicken and the breakfast burritos. My son always gets breakfast. I get the gyro every time. My mother in law always goes for the tuna sandwich and my father in law loves the shrimp and chips. It is really casual and the staff is friendly (although there are a few girls with an attitude sometimes, the rest are super nice. LOL). It's all booths, so you are able to relax and be comfortable the whole time. It's a nice place to have around the corner from your home, but not worth driving distances for. read more

I worked at Johns for almost 2 years and never got tired of it. THe food there is great and the atmosphere is awesome. The owners are some of the nicest people. After working there so long its amazing the regualrs you get to know. Johns has a loyal following! and for a good reason! duh. =] I, personally, love the salad bar. the clam chowder on fridays is amazing and I would definatly recomend the French Toast if its breakfast your after. We have great chicken snadwhiches and a really good Gerdenburger! I really hope you'll try it out. Hopefully I'll be working there again soon. =] read more

Right upon entering two of my senses went off, visual and scent. The smell of the industrial cleaning solution made me order my food to go. The decor very dated but clean. The sign outside stating best breakfast burrito is what drew me in. As I was waiting for my burrito I was watching the short order cooks work and my heart sank in disappointment. One of the cooks used his hands to flip the pancakes!!! I don't know why but this was his flipping technique with every batch he made. Then he proceeded to grab sausages from the fryer with his hands!!! The sausages were sitting in the basket and cooled down enough for him to use his hands. But after that he started cracking eggs, not to mention seeing him touch the brim of his cap a few times. Can you imagine all the cross contamination going on here?! After seeing that, I had to microwave my burrito when I got home to kill any possible bacteria. Let's just say I do not plan on returning which is a shame as I drive by this place almost everyday and it could have been a usual spot for me. read more

It's a mom & pop shop ... and local hangout. I used to come here a lot in high school and came back recently -- and I am not ONE BIT disappointed. It's the typical stuff you'll find at a diner, pastrami, burgers, all fried stuff and insanely unhealthy ... but the kind of place that for some reason the amount of grease hits the spot. In case you're trying to go somewhat healthy, the salad bar really leaves something to be desired.
