Food is always delicious. Been coming here for as long as I can remember, even before I was a yucca valley resident. My main gripe is definitely the change in fries. The price, which for most items is high, in my mind was justified by the portion sizes. These new fries are less substantial and should, in my own opinion, lead to a price decrease. Amazing avocado burger! Made from steak meat it was juicy and cooked perfectly. I really loved it. We were here with friends and had a great experience. The place was packed for Saturday lunch but we were served quickly and the food came out fast too! Our friends had the carne burritos that looked good and were huge! March 26, 2022. This is sad and breaks my heart to say, but Johns Place Yucca Valley is lacking. I called to put in an order to pick and was put on hold for 7 minutes, then the phone hung up. I called back and was told to hold, the phone was put in the counter and again hung up. We then decided to go to the restaurant and we're told to have a seat. The waitress never came to take drink order or food, instead she was focused on one or 2 tables at the front of the restaurant. This included people that had come in after we had been there for almost 20 minutes. She refilled coffee for the other tables and brought drinks to 2 tables that had just seated. We ordered the 1/4lb burger meals (burger, your choice of side, drink) and a kids bean & cheese burrito meal (burrito, side, drink). Food was really good! The kids burrito was HUGE! We took half of it to go. The onion rings were delicious. We sat out on the patio with our dog. You order inside, and pay when you order, so add a tip then or have some cash on you. At 54 years of age I've had more than my share of grilled hamburgers. Without a doubt this is the BEST charbroiled hamburger (John's gourmet) I've ever had. They combine brisket, ribeye and ground chuck for the mouth watering, juicy, flavorful patty to die for. Toasted bun and a special sauce perfectly accompanied the flavor of the burger. I'd like to see if I can have these frozen, packaged and sent to Indiana, no joke! Zucchini fries were amazing and onion rings delicious. Staff was kind, fun and courteous. Service fast. A good sized, if not a bit on the dry side, burrito with a small cup of spicy salsa to kick it up a bit. The cheese was melted perfectly. Still a nice slice of avocado would have added the perfect touch. When I picked up my burger , my fingers went straight into it and was falling apart . Sweet and weird ! Turkey paty was ok , my friends had the buffalo burger and said that the burger at the restaurant at pioneer town is better than this one but the main complaint was the bun . 3 out of 4 people took it off and tossed to the side .
