Came here a few months ago at the recommendation of my old mechanic who retired. Seemed okay over the phone, but when I dropped the car off he couldn't wait to get me out the door. It went from it will be about 30-45 minutes, to a very rude 'come back in an hour' once I started asking questions about the service and then told me I didnt need to finish filling out the form (name, address, etc). Absolutely no customer service. Charged almost $70 for an oil change with 4 quarts of conventional oil. In comparison my old mechanic charged $55 and my new mechanic (who I will write a review on after I take it in a few more times) charges less than $50. The impression I got from the get-go is that they are a busy shop and do not need my business. Well, you certainly wont be getting it. I'm sure they are great for their longtime customers, but if you are new, go somewhere else. Rude and overpriced. read more

Johnson's was recommended by my kids' piano teacher. Johnson's is no-nonsense and FAST! I have a Honda Odyssey that needed 1) emissions inspection fix; 2) problem w/ rotor; 3) brakes; 4) new tires. They did a FREE estimate and told me what I had to fix first for safety reasons (rotor, which they could do, and told me to go and get new tires). Did that and returned for the emissions thing. When my car was fixed (again, FAST!), it drove (and still does) like a dream. Like a new car! I love my Odyssey. It's a 2001 and I thought it was going to die. In Johnson's hands, it was given many more miles. A friend has a Honda Civic that needed the rear axle replaced and new brakes. Came here to get our tire patched and received superb service. We were on a tight schedule preparing to move to a different state when we discovered one of our tires were flat the morning we were departing. We called a few local repair shops at 7:30am and Johnson's Auto Repair told us to come right in. We were helped immediately by Ian and the repair took fewer than 5 minutes. I've been doing my own car repairs for the past 3 years and this is the first shop I let under my hood. They replaced the timing belt and did a great job. A lot more affordable than the few other shops I'd priced out. What's more is they let me bring in a new water pump I had and installed that for me while they were in there. And the cherry on top, they threw in a new oil dipstick and tube free of charge because mine was getting pretty bad. They came in $10 under what I budgeted based on the quote they gave me and had my car done by 3. Highly recommend this shop. I just took my Jeep to Johnson's with a loud squeal in one of its wheels. The could have told me anything, replaced bearings, etc. Who Knows? They drove it around and heard the squeal and cleaned up the insides, told me nothing was wrong, and charged me $37.00. I've never had a bad experience at Johnson's. They never try to talk me into additional repairs that I don't need. Even when they're busy, they always seem to get my car done the same day as I leave it there, if I leave it there early when they open. Had my timing belt done 3 years ago by Johnson's. They assured me that the water pump was replaced, too. Well , three years later, I needed a new water pump. I took my Toyota to another biz in the neighborhood. He found the original water pump in place (he gave it to me at the end of the job), and the nuts/bolts around it roughed up and de-threaded. He said that someone had attempted to get the water pump out, had a hard time, then gave up. So, Johnson's Auto Repair lied to me about the water pump. A few years ago, I was trying to buy a car for my daughter. I must have brought 4 cars in for Jeff to check out so I would know whether or not to buy them. The folks at Johnson's took it for a test drive, put it up on the elevator, and checked it out. They have been servicing our '94 Honda since the warranty ended in '97. Fourteen years later it still purrs thanks to Johnson's. If you want a repair shop that is really chatty and homey, this is not the place. They are friendly but short, as they excel in hard work and good service. Easy to schedule and yes, they work very fast. If there is something really minor they won't charge you for it. I can't say enough good things about these guys. I took my car in with the check engine light on and some little issues and they fixed it. When the check engine light came on again later I took it back and they fixed it 2 more times with no charge until the light stayed off. Then later the car had a completely different problem but the check engine light was on again and the fixed it again for free. They never made me fell like I was an inconvenience and were really wonderful to me. I will always take any of my car problems to them from now on! read more

Despite being very busy, he had his staff get right to work and in less than 20 minutes gave me a VERY thorough appraisal of all work required and referrals to businesses that could perform one task that couldn't be done at his shop. Jeff personally drove the truck around the block, and then showed me each defective item and explained the procedure for repair or replacement. Jeff's assessment was detailed, to the point, and very fast. I bought the truck with confidence and will gladly make the trip to Johnson's whenever it needs work.
