    The Breakfast Classic

Brunch Goals Achieved at Jonathon's Diner! From the classic to the creative, every bite delivered. The Breakfast Classic : two eggs, crispy bacon, golden waffle & toast is pure diner comfort done right. But the real star? The All-In-One Waffle: a fluffy Belgian waffle with bacon baked inside, topped with scrambled eggs, sausage, caramelized onions, green chiles, and cheddar cheese cream gravy, all drizzled with hot sauce. Sweet, savory, and chef's kiss perfection! Elite Tip: Come hungry, sit back, and let Jonathon's remind you why breakfast is the best part of the day. #YelpEliteEats #BrunchGoals #JonathonsDiner

Chicken salad was good. Service was fast. Waiter was a little annoyed I wanted to change my cheese to Swiss and I saw her making fun of me but other than that overall the food was good.

I haven't been to Jonathon's in years since they have moved locations but the food tastes just as good. Big servings for a reasonable price. Also service was moving well for it to be so crowded. If you like the diner feel then you will appreciate the feel of the restaurant.

My daughter and I decided to brunch here today. I haven't been to Jonathan's since they moved locations. It's more spacious than the last place. It's really nice and simple. Service was good and everyone was helpful. The food and menu was the same which is a good thing. I was really glad they didn't make drastic changes to the food/menu like most places do when they get bigger establishments. The food is obviously a little pricey but the portions they give you have VERY decent. Worth the money. My only complaints are the Steal Oats had no flavor. They were cooked right and had good looking toppings but bland, and the Latte with salted caramel was too sweet and left a weird aftertaste. I would probably never get their coffee again. My daughter said the gravy was also very bland and seemed to be missing something. Other than that the food was good. We did order a Chicken Fried Steak and eggs with a side of pancakes to go for my son. The steak is huge! It was the size of the container. So overall the food is good but certain things could be better. We'll be back.

Cute little diner! When out of town I like trying small locally owned businesses. This one was near our hotel and had good reviews and I'm glad we stopped by. Standard breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast. LOTS of bacon on my plate! The waffle was good. The Caesar salad was fresh and tasted like homemade dressing. Great service too!

Do NOT eat here. I use to love it but once you find a cockroach in your food it's all over!! Shows how downhill they have gone.

Was told it was a good spot to check out on Sundays and it did not disappoint! $5 Mimosas and had a nice variety of options on the menu. I got the breakfast tacos and swapped my chopped potatoes for fries instead. Great flavor on the fries as well. 0 complaints. Excellent service even on a busy Sunday afternoon. Would recommend. Let me tell you now. This is the best breakfast spot in Dallas! I came here randomly after yoga and when I say everything I ate was a 10/10. It was a 10 out of 10. Our service for a Saturday morning was really good & our food came out fast. I ordered the Breakfast with brunch potatoes , scrambled eggs with cheese and their pancakes! Everything tastes soooo homemade like your mama made it! I got full so quick and they give you a lot of food. Jonathon's definitely will be seeing me again. It's a diner still so it's not loud or anything. Also they close at 2:30 so come before that!

Then the chicken fried steak was solid with the green beans and mashed potatoes being the stars of that dish. However my fish sandwich came out with raw in the center. After sending it back I waited a solid 15-20 minutes for another sandwich and it was cooked bone dry. Was it worth the wait? Absolutely not as the flavor was not there. Then we ended the meal with the fried butter cake. It is exactly what it sounds like and was quite mushy. Overall it did not mesh well together in my opinion. I feel that the porch definitely does deserve a repeat visit from me as I do not believe this rating is fully representative of what this restaurant offers. However, this rating is valid of my experience this day.

Subtle & distinct rub. Very crisp but juicy. Nice smoke. 4 excellent sauces if you want them. The Dino beef rib was perfect. Salt & pepper infused. Moist with right texture, not fall off the bone, some gentle pull, but bendy...which is the best way in my opinion . Likewise for the brisket! The sides were perfect, the crisp slaw was tangy & not drowning in sauce. The potato salad was infused with scallions. Also right amount of dressing. Well seasoned. The biggest compliment: you really need no sauces for the meat. Thats what great BBQ should be. Maybe small dabs intermittently. Mind you, the sauces are awesome, but I preferred vinegar for beef & blue cheese for wings. Again: sparingly, letting the meat shine. If I have to critique a 5 star: maybe have a heat lamp. Because even the best brisket can get dry if you linger. Out of 4 big pieces, half a piece got a bit dry, but the rest stayed succulent. Ha ha. Nice staff. Nice guests during the football World Cup. You order & get from counter. $135 for 1.5 lbs beef ribs, 0.5lbs brisket, 12 wings, pint slaw, pint potato salad, & soft drink. My son & me splurged, very happy happy.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.
