First visit to Jon's in Wesrminster. I used to frequent their store in Torrance when we lived in South Bay. I specifically came for a few specific items (that no one else carries!) And very pleased to see they had them! Upon entering, lots of beautiful orchid plants lines two aisles. Decent flower selection. Deli section. Very extensive offerings of meats and cheeses. Also some sausages. So many different salami options, my head was spinning. Decided to try two different ones to start. I was specifically looking for Finnish Skim.Cheese (Lappi) that no one carries anymore, beyond thrilled to gind it here at Jon's! Most of their Deli Meats are Dietz and Watson, excellent brand, and they also have a large section of prepacked Dietz and Watson items. European Butters. Huge selection! Irish; German, French, etc. Decent selection of cheeses and specialty crackers. Meats. They have orepackaged sliced meats which was my second item I was looking for. Milanesia and also another ticker slice (what I needed) for Rouladen (sliced round steaks). In addition they have round steak in the butcher case that I could ask to gave sliced up. They had a nice selection of premarinated meats, sauces and some seafood. Huge selection of fresh Lavash (Flat Bread). If you like to make flatbread pizza or use fir sandwiches, highly recommend coming here to buy your Lavash! Definitely will be back to shop! read more

I stopped by this grocery store specifically looking for a birthday cake and was a little disappointed to find that they don't have a full bakery section. They do have a display toward the middle of the store (right before the aisles begin) with premade cupcakes, muffins, and other small baked goods, which is convenient if you need something quick and simple. However, I was hoping to find an actual cake and have someone write "Happy Birthday" on it, and that wasn't an option at this location. Aside from that, everything else looked perfectly fine. The store seemed stocked and organized, and if I were in the area and needed a few items, I could see myself stopping in. It's just not somewhere I'd go out of my way for, especially if I needed bakery services. read more

Jons Fresh Market, impression is that it caters to an international clients. It has a ton of international species, ingredients, stuffed grape leaves, olive oil from Tunisia, European deli items, Mexican ingredients, tamales, pan dulce and many, many other to mention. I have been here several times, and have bought fruits and vegetables, olive oil. They have a great meat department with a ton of options I bought some meat for Sheppard Pie, BBQ ribs, beef knuckles and beef neck for a hardy soup. Overall they have good service, the cashiers are friendly and I always have a good experience. The ambiance is clean, well organized and well stocked as well. The lighting feels a little different but it could just be me It has a large parking lot and it can get full on the weekends. This location has always felt bright, clean, and spacious every time I visit, which makes grocery shopping here pretty comfortable. The aisles are wide and well-organized, so it never feels crowded or chaotic, even during busier hours. Milk is usually priced cheaper compared to other nearby markets, and every so often you can find some really good deals on meat as well. If you take a little time to look around, there are definitely solid bargains to be found. Overall, it's a convenient and dependable spot that I don't mind coming back to again and again. This grocery is nearby and I love the quality of food here. I'm usually the type of person that gets stuff at Costco but this place has some quality items as well as different items from European chocolates, Asian seasonings/foods and also cool ice creams I haven't seen before. Service wise everyone's nice and genuinely there to help out. I recommend eating their rotisserie chicken rather than trying costcos chicken. It's $9.99 but well worth the price for the taste and quality. read more

I like the convenience of this market. Parking is easy because it's located in a huge strip mall that also has grocery outlet. Never a long line at checkout. Produce is fresh. There's also hot tamales on sale that are in cookers by chicken, pork, beef and cheese. International stuff you can find here with ease just make sure to check expiration dates. read more

I have been going to JONS in westminster since they opened with hardly any problems. Yesterday July 2 i went to make some more purshases and had a problem with the cashier. I purchased 2 Asian Pears and a heirloom tomato. At the register the clerk did not know what and Asian Pear was or how much it cost so i walked back to the produce department to check for him. Told him the price which he decided to question. Then he got to the Heirloom Tomato and he didn know the price of that either. When i told him that the Produce Manger told me it was $2.39 Each he decided to question that also creating a disturbence in the check out line. Finnaly i told him its not worth to trouble and just keep the tomato, checked out and was leaving. At that time the manger decided to stick his 2 cents into the discusstion. Recaped what had happened and told him forget about the tranaction. Then one of the checkout women decided to interject herself into the sitution. Took the tomato weighed it and told me how much i owed. By this time i been there for over 15 minutes with half the store staring at me. Now i was really upset took the tomato put it in my cart and started leaving. When she said something about the price i informed her that after all the BS i was taking the Tomato and WALKING OUT I never been treated as lier in public like i was yesterday. read more

I tagged along to come visit JONS Market and it looked like a pretty neat store. I was most impressed how retro this place feels. It didn't feel like I was in Southern California at all. Maybe a small vibe of the 80s or 90s? Whatever it was, I liked browsing through the store. We first headed to the meat section and saw some pretty good prices on their value pack chicken and also some pork ribs. I think the chicken was about $1.79 a pound, while the pork ribs were about $14 for a family pack. It looked like a pretty good deal, especially with the chicken. JONS has a lot of general grocery items and also a huge frozen section in the middle of the store. It was like walking through the Throne Room in Star Wars (haha geek alert!). But more like a corridor. Cashiers are also friendly and it was a zip checking out. read more

On the hunt for a "kulich," which is an orthodox Eastern bread last Saturday, I heard Jons had a good selection of various items from Eastern Europe, so I drove the 30 minutes from Long Beach to scope it out. It delivered! I found a Kulich, although it was priced at $25 which was incredibly expensive and thus the 4-stars. I was also able to find some other items like olivye, beet salad, and other various Eastern European comfort items. Their freezer had ice cream, pelmeni, and other items from Ukraine and other parts of Eastern Europe. There was also a great selection of produce including dill without any packaging at a good price, which is sometimes difficult to find. I'll definitely stop in here when I'm in the area to pick up more specialty (and non specialty) goodies! read more

Different grocery store with different selections, unlike any other. The meat department offers some stuff you typically don't see any where else at least not on any kind of regular basis. Turkey wings and tails. Duck. Beef shanks the best price I've ever seen. Pork Spare ribs fresh. Everything is fresh, nothing previously frozen like at Ralph's or Albertsons. Just recently picked up some fresh beef oxtails for a good price, that's a rare find. It used to be peasant food long ago but then it became in demand.. Interesting ice cream choices I think from Russia and foreign countries you don't find anywhere else. Good prices on tequila at times and other spirits. I found an old school Mars chocolate bar here they don't sell anywhere else. I think it's from the UK. Also a wide variety of Latino foods. Clean store and from the meat department to the checkers the service is top notch. read more

Jon's has THE BEST produce. Fruits and Vegetables at incredible prices! I come here every year for cherries because their 99 cents per lb cannot beat anywhere else!! We do not always shop at JONS but when we do it is because we know that it is available. One thing we do is to compare the weekly advertisements of several grocery stores. We then come to JONS to take advantage of the old world European products that often are ony to be found at JONS. This time the lovely missus found items she needed and I explored the wine section. Our favorite Stella Rosa Pink is quickly put in the shopping cart. I also found Andre California Champagne, a bottle of Rossi Sangria and a seasonal drink I wanted to try; Pennsylvania Dutch Egg Nog, a concoction of blended rum and whiskey to fight the wintery coldness at night. JONS has much to offer but we had already completed all the items we needed and I added all the items as a want rather than a need. I think I'll be happy during this holiday season and I know if that Egg Nog is keeping me warm, that I'll be back for more. read more

The secret is out on their baguette and by the time I got there on Christmas Eve they had completely sold out. Needless to say, I was devastated. Some of the employees told me people were hoarding them, buying 6 or more at a time...These people need to be publicly lashed! I came back the next day(Xmas) and they weren't baking baguette at all. On my way back from a cruise, I decided to stop by this market to pick up groceries. It's not the typical Jon's Marketplace I'm used to from Glendale/Burbank. What I mean by that is that the Armenian foods are limited but you can still find certain items in the frozen or deli section. Considering that I now live in Carlsbad, my options are limited and this was a great option without having to drive to LA. The deli was well stocked and the staff were very helpful. The produce section is plentiful and fresh. I needed extra dill and there weren't any in the section. It was early in the morning and the gentleman who was filling the produce was working in another section. I asked if they had more dill and he went to the back and brought an entire box to pick from. This kind of service is amazing! Everyone I interacted with was very polite and and helpful. I will be coming to this location when I need to fill up on certain Armenian items in my kitchen. I live apx a mile radius from a Ralphs, Vons, and Costco...so I've never had a desire to try out Jons. A friend had made korean short ribs and said the meat was really good quality so I went to check them out. When I walked in I noticed the shopping carts had some wear on them and there was a lit of paper/trash in the carts. Still on board...Hungarian wine, Polish sausages, Eastern European deli items, pan dulce, etc. greet you when you enter the store. It is a lot to take in & the frozen dumpling-esque cooler always intrigued me. The meat is overall very good quality. The short ribs we have bought the most, it's typically $2.99-$4.99 the most but the meat in itself is good. I'm not sure if the blade is not sharp enough but there are ALWAYS bone fragments on the meat. A double wash fixes it right up but the 1st time I didn't think to and it was a grainy eating experience; glad to have not chipped a tooth! The vegetables and fruit are fresh and plenty. I've gotten watermelon three times and the texture is nice and crisp but it has no taste. Stick to Costco on that one. (As a side note, the cash register has in 2 of those situations weighed it and reverified if I wanted to buy it before ringing it up. It was told that a lot of customers don't realize how much it weighs and then they get mad after the get the total. Something to be said about the cliental.) 7/1/23 called to see if they carry (Lumpia Wrap) very department young girl don't know, transfered me to front desk, she don't know, transfered me to a guy...a guy that knows phone rang and rang and rang and rang 30 minutes later still ringing. Jons is my go-to place for low prices on spirits. They occasionally have sales on cognac, which they recently advertised 750ml bottles of Remy Martin (w/ two glass cups) for only $32. This bottle is usually $40+ at other supermarkets. They also have 750ml bottles of Hennessy V.S. for $31 as their regular prices. Bottles of this Henney usually go for at least $40 at other stores. I can only assume these prices are reflective on other types of alcohol such as beer, spirits, and hard liquor. The inside of the store is generally clean and well organized food stocked on the shelves. 4 years ago I went this Jon's Market at Goldenwest and I bought some food and I waited the cashier Mexican checked for me. I gave her $50 cash because I bought trust any dollars ,her not change me now and she took money goes around and came back change money for me but she told me my money only $20. I told her "I give you $50" and she told me "you give me $20". I told her I want to see your manager but she doesn't answer me. Then at the time I had appointment with my doctor so I needed go. After looking at the total I was thing something wasn't right. She actually added $7.53 of Okra to my bill. So I call the store and of course no one is being very helpful. Jon"s is actually a unique market. You can find here some produce from Eastern Europe which you cannot get anywhere else. But...there is CHEATING! Sounds terrible, doesn't it? Technique #1: the cashier puts a couple of things into your check which are not in your basket (lost $8, discovered it only when we got home). Technique #2: a very efficient and fast salesman puts a much higher price on the produce you want to buy. Last time it was for shrimps: I wanted a pound for $3.99, but received 1.5 pounds of this cheapest value where the price was marked as 6.99. Moreover, I said: I want the ones for 3.99. So I couldn't be just a mistake. Again, discovered only when I investigated the check a home, which is quite a long way from the store (lost about $5). A disgusting feeling - being cheated! Nothing against Jon's, but management needs to do better. A man gets in a altercation with me because I'm "too close" to him, when he cuts me off out of nowhere of course we're in close contact. He starts trash talking in English and Spanish, mind you he's white. Starts telling me to shut up, and keeps muttering in front of the cashier and management that's walking around NOT doing anything. I asked management if he allows this kind behavior inside the store, to which he says nothing as the man says "oh they know me" this man was obnoxious and rude. I had a mask on and always keep my distance in public, maybe if he was looking where he was going this whole situation could've been avoided. Christian helped me with my requests and he was very patient and helpful. Love the options of meats and cheeses here. Hope they start stocking the salsa turkey as it is our favorite. What a great grocery store! We are always looking for different places to shop to be able to cook different things at home and get to try new stuff. This is an European grocery store, being German and Lithuanian, I saw many familiar and Russian items I remembered. Prices are fair, service nice. Lines can get long, especially at the meat counter it takes forever, but they have so many kinds of Excellent meats that it is worth it. Large and well stocked store, great selection and everything is fresh. Worth a stop for something different. read more
