An extensive menu of cold and hot drinks for all tastes--from Oreo matcha slushes to avocado smoothies to boba teas. Hard to choose from so many options! We tried crème brule matcha and triple matcha. Crème brule foam and matcha foams were sweet and satisfying. Both drinks were tasty and I'd recommend getting them with 0% added sugar, so the earthy taste of matcha stands out. The matcha profile stood out more than chains like HeyTea and TeaPulse, whose matcha is definitely more watered down & turned into a sweet drink, not an authentic matcha experience. I'd come back here in a heartbeat! Ordering was easy using a machine right when you walk in. The menu is large and has a lot of fun, seasonal options but what really drew me here was their selection of matches. You can choose your milks for most drinks, size on some, ice level, sweetness added (25%, 50%, etc.), and add-ins like boba and jellies and cloud foam. I ordered a large Matcha Duo, which came with a delicious cloud foam, regular ice, 50% sweetness, and almond milk. I could have drank 30 of these it was so perfect and honestly kept me caffeinated for the rest of the day, holding me over to dinner. I also got a medium Matcha Latte for my friend with regular ice, 50% sweetness, and oat milk. She loved hers as well. This was a cute little shop that I ran into as I waited for the bus to go across town. The lady behind the counter was super friendly and gave me a few suggestions as I was checking out the menu. All their teas are brewed in-house, so i had a great selection to choose from. I went with the creme brulee milk tea with boba, and it was okay. Not too sweet. Of course , I went with thirty percent sugar, so it will likely be more sweet at regular sweetness. I wish the caramelized topping was more prominent, as it gave a great crystallized texture while sipping the bev. I think I just found my favorite boba shop in NYC!! I've seen so many reviews comparing Jooy to Omomo in SoCal, so I knew I had to check it out myself as a partial Californian transplant! The Matcha Tornado surprisingly exceeded my expectations! Each sip had a smooth creamy flavor with a subtle matcha taste and crunchy oreo crumbs against a milky base. The boba was chewy and perfectly cooked. With blended drinks, I always get worried there might be chunks of ice, but this one was very well blended, and the ratio of ingredients was well balanced. The 50% sweetness was appropriate. It really did remind me of Omomo but more on the creamy side, which I enjoyed! Just make sure you mix it well to get a bit of everything! Their pumpkin latte involved authentic pumpkin flavors, as if pureed steamed pumpkin was seamlessly combined with milk. The hojicha latte had strong flavors and was mixed well without any precipitation. Love that you can switch to other alternative milk option for free. They also have really cool flavors/toppings like persimmon and mochi in cold drinks. Even the cup design reminded me of Omomo with the peel-able aluminum foil! It was easy to puncture, and convenient for sipping on cheese foams or any spoon action. Functional cup designs truly elevate the boba experience!! The store itself is small and there are indeed 2 kiosks (one in the back) for orders. Limited seating available but drinks came out quick.
