    Papaya Salad (delivery)
    Gab G.

Ordered delivery and had a great experience. I tried: + Khao soi chicken - noodles were alright, but the flavor of the curry was awesome and the pickles were amazing + Papaya salad - good, but not spicy at all - I prefer a little kick + Thai iced tea - too sweet + Roti massaman - perfect, the highlight of the order + Panang curry with chicken and coconut rice - solid It was all worth it for the roti massaman alone - I would order the massaman curry next time. Would also try the tom yum soup and mango salad.

I was lucky that I could get there. I wanted to get there on weekends but it opened 12:00 and always was a bit early when I get there. When I got there, it was Friday opened 11:30. I could get there and enjoyed the prik Khing which was my obsession. I am obsessed with the taste of the paste!

My friends and I got lunch here and it was delicious and very filling. They give you a salad and egg roll as free appetizers. We each ordered an appetizer on top of that: chicken curry puffs, steamed dumplings and fried calamari. They give you big portions. We also ordered smth from the lunch menu. I ordered a chicken pad thai. They also have happy hour all day. If I am in the area again, I would come back here. Friendly, attentive service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's very affordable and clean![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Duck and beef salad + tom yum

I got delivery from here and it was delicious! I got their crispy duck salad, while my friend got their beef salad and tom yum soup. Both salads came with a lot of protein, full of flavor, and good veggies. I also loved how crispy the duck was despite it being delivery and their being dressing in the salad. The tom yum was also delicious and came with lots of shrimp!

I've been here twice; once for dine-in and the other time was take-out. The lunch special is a great deal for $15 plus tax. You get a salad, spring roll and a main dish. I tried the chicken pad Thai which was okay, I've definitely had better. The beef street noodles were on the yummier side. The pick-up process was smooth. Waiters were attentive, I had no issues. I will continue trying out other dishes to see what works and what doesn't.

Ordered for take out . Didn't actually go in the restaurant. We've been looking for good Thai food gear our office. We ordered through grub hub. It was under lunch specials but it didn't say it came with anything. Me and my colleagues ordered different rices and they all came with a side salad and a spring roll. Nice surprise. Delivered fast food was hot and tasty. While i didn't care too much for the salad , I didn't like the dressing. My co worker did. We will definitely order again

I finally dined in at Ros Niyom! The food here is still as solid as when I order takeout. My friends and I shared the following dishes: Fresh summer rolls - Had tofu inside which was okay. The peanut dipping sauce made the dish, as the summer roll on its own doesn't have much flavor Ga prow moo sub khai dao (ground pork and rice) - This dish was a bit greasy. It was also salty, and we didn't end up finishing this dish. Crab fried rice - this was the best dish that we ordered. It was very yummy! Chicken kua gai - This was a good noodle dish. A good amount of protein; reminded me of pad see ew. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was good; it was quiet for a Saturday lunch time but it made for a nice private experience![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Local Thai spot in LIC that we wanted to try on a Friday night! Dimly lit inside and the waitresses were super attentive, my water was always filled. We got the spring rolls and curry puffs to share as appetizers. While these apps were tasty, there was nothing super unique about them. I got the mixed seafood street noodles, which is essentially pad see ew. There was a good amount of seafood but the mussels were over cooked. The noodles were yummy but I did find some shrimp shell in the dish. Other than that, the food was tasty and a solid spot for casual dinner in the neighborhood.

chicken pad thai, beef pad thai, pork Kimao
    Irene C.

Rating is more of a 3.5 - Food (4/5) - we got 2 chicken and beef pad thais and 1 pork keemao. They make their protein well but the pad thai was just okay and I personally didn't love the taste. Keemao was much better and I liked the flavor though just noting that it's marked as spicy but isn't at all. Service and Interior (3/5) - we came on a Sunday evening and place was pretty busy, but they seemed understaffed. We saw open tables, but had to wait a while as there were only two servers rushing around (though we also got seated later than people who arrived after us which was a bit strange). [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have dim lighting but it's pretty loud in there, so doesn't really give a relaxing or calm vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Peanut Curry, Kimao, Pad Thai

This is a DoorDash review. Overall this was a solid lunch option, would consider ordering again for pickup or inside. I ordered for pick up and it was ready right on time. Everything was piping hot 30 min after receiving it. I had to ask for chili powder on the side. Peanut curry tasted was great but just like any Thai curry. It had a lot of veggies and good amount of chicken. Comes with rice. Slight kick to it, but once it cooled down you mainly taste the coconut. Kimao was great but noodles were slightly undercooked. I got this with just veggies and there was a good mix. The noodles were really packed in. This was my husbands favorite Similarly for pad Thai, good portion, not overly sweet. We definitely ordered more than enough for 2 people and think we'll have left overs for another 1-2 meals for both of us. Inside seemed nice and actually had a good amount of seating, including bar seating. Not sure if it gets crowded or anything.

    Fresh Summer Rolls

My folks were in town and Ros Niyom has been on my to-eat list for quite some time now, so I figured a nice Thai lunch with my folks would be a nice. We got in around 2ish on Saturday and were promptly seated (as the only customers there at the time). The interior is cozy and clean (including bathroom). We were promptly given some table waters and menus. After perusing the menu, which had a nice variety of apps and entrees, we settled on: Apps: Fresh Summer rolls - Rice paper wrap, lettuce, carrots, cucumber, mint, tofu served with hoisin tamarind sauce and ground peanut. My dad was pushing these, and while they were fine...it was really just a bunch of wrapped greens with a small amount of tofu...I thought stomach space could have been better utilized, BUT...that hoisin peanut sauce is delicious (as a peanut/peanut butter fiend). Thai Dumplings (5 pcs.) - Steamed or fried shrimp & chicken, shiitake mushroom, water chestnut, sesame oil ,scallions, cilantro sprinkle with fried garlic served with black sweet soy sauce vinaigrette. This was my mom's choice (steamed) and she definitely won the appetizer war...these were plump, juicy, and delicious. Mains: we were admittedly a little bit boring as my dad decided to copy my order after he inquired where I was leaning (he was going for the salmon initially), and my mom got a different variety of the same - but, despite some redundancy in orders, these were delicious! My mom got the Karee Talay - Stir fried shrimps, squid, scallops, new zealand mussels with egg, curry powder, roasted chili, milk, bell peppers, scallions, onions and celery, typically served with Jasmine rice but it looked like they actually gave her squid ink spaghetti. I had some of the spaghetti and it was delicious with the curry broth soaked in for sure! My dad and I both got the Pad cha talay - Stir fried shrimps, squid, scallops, new Zealand mussels with garlic, fresh chili, herbs, young peppercorn, fingerroot, bell peppers and thai basil leaves served with Jasmine rice (I opted for brown rice sub). Plenty of seafood, nice kick, this was delightful. Oddly, after finishing the main course, they staff cleared out table and just handed us the bill, without inquiring about any tea/coffee/sweets. I guess it was overall for the better not to 'overdo it,' but...just...odd. Nonetheless, overall a very tasty experience at Ros Niyom - solid addition to the neighborhood.

We came here based on reviews plus where it was located. It is a fairly new place as the decor looks very up to date so it's nice. Even the bathroom was so pristine, so you know it's a new restaurant and everything was renovated. The service was great. I was impressed with how attentive they were. They immediately had us seated once a table was ready. Gave us menus and water right away without us even asking. There's even a qr code for those who just want to see the menu. Once we knew what we wanted, the waitstaff took down our order and served us right away. The Thai Zaab wings were pretty good. It was different from any wings that I've had before because of the Thai spice that they used to season it. I ordered the Kanomjeen Num Ya Phu, which are vermicelli noodles served with curry paste, crab meat, and coconut milk. On the side came boiled egg, mustard, and hot chili oil. All in all, I enjoyed my meal and it was very filling.

The crowd also tends to be a little more mature, so if you're 30+ and looking for an older crowd, this may be your type of place. The food selection, however, is pretty limited, and the music really seems to depend on which DJ is there. Some DJs are good and others are just okay. The last time I went was Wednesday, July 29, and while I had an okay time, the DJ really wasn't all that. My biggest concern, though, is the liquor. My usual drink is Grey Goose or Tito's with soda water. I drink this regularly at home and at other places without waking up with a headache. Both times I visited The Record Room, I specifically ordered Grey Goose with soda water, and both times I woke up with a significant headache. The first time, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured it could have been a coincidence. That's actually one of the reasons I was willing to go back. Unfortunately, the exact same thing happened after my second visit. I obviously cannot confirm what was actually poured, but because this has happened both times at this particular establishment, it does make me question whether I was actually being served the liquor I requested and paid for. When you're paying top-shelf prices, you should feel confident that you're receiving the brand you ordered. Overall: nice ambiance, mature crowd, limited food options, hit-or-miss DJs, and unfortunately a liquor experience that has now left me questioning what I was served twice. For those reasons, 2 out of 5 stars for me.

The biggest question then became, where to go? We needed a place that was relatively easy to get to that would hold close to 100 people. Jungly was a contender for several reasons - it's location, size, vibe, and menu all seemed to check off. It also helped that I had done business with the owner previously at one of his other spots. It seemed like the natural choice, so I went ahead with the booking. Jungly is located in LIC - it's a pretty convenient spot as its close to the LIRR and the subway. Parking can be a challenge, but luckily I found a spot only a block away. The space itself is nicely set up - walking in you're immediately greeted by the bar area with dining areas both to the left and the right. Due to our size, they closed the place to the public and we were able to freely roam the bar area and one of the dining rooms. In addition to standard tables, they have some lounge space and high tops by the bar. The vibe is somewhat modern - a black/grey color scheme paired with neon and golds. It looks like the space could easily be converted to a club-like atmosphere. Since we were here for a private event, the food was set up buffet style - we chose three apps, four mains, and two sides. Ultimately, for apps we chose pita bread with dips, steak tacos, and shrimp tacos. For mains we chose fried chicken sliders, smashed beef sliders, cacio e pepe, and roasted chicken. For sides, we got fries and Brussels sprouts. In general, all of the food was tasty; the strongest dishes were the tacos, fries, and the chicken tacos. The tacos were generously filled, the fries were the crispy skin style, and the chicken sliders were nice and crispy. The weakest for me was the cacio e pepe - not much flavor and just not really a standout IMO. My communication with management to set up the event were a little staccato, though in the end everything worked out. For the most part, my communication with them was consistent in the days leading up to the event. Service the night of the event was overall good - they were very accessible but I found that they could have replenished the food a little faster in response to the rate it was being taken from the buffet. The bar, on the other hand, was great - both in service and variety of liquor available. Overall, we had a great event at Jungly. They were professional, fair, and delivered on the goods. I would definitely consider hosting another event there, or dine here on my own.
