Sat at the bar and ordered a beer for me and a beer for my husband, asked to keep the tab open. We get 3 sips in and I get an alert that my card has been charged almost $80. I let the bartender know she charged the wrong card so she tells me to wait and gets a manager to come talk to me. Manager works it out, voids the charge and closes me out for the two beers. We decided it was best to leave. Monday arrives and I get an alert saying that the charge processed on my card for twice the amount of the two beers. I call and the manager tells me there will be cash waiting for me at the bar whenever I come back out. I've bartended and managed bars for over a decade and the way this whole thing played out was shady and unprofessional. If you decide to go, bring cash and don't have high hopes. read more

It sucks what Covid has done to my neighborhood hangout. Prior to the pandemic, I had been going to Joxer's every week for the awesome karaoke league that's hosted at their bar. I have a long history with Joxer's, I used to go all the time, then a close friend of mine had a falling out with the previous owner, so I boycotted it for five years. After the owner sold it, I decided to go back and it was pleasant to see some familiar faces still holding it down after all these years. The atmosphere is great, the drinks are fairly priced, and the food portions are extremely generous. It's typical bar fair, so don't expect culinary masterpieces. But I will say that their chicken wings are a step up from a LOT of places and are definitely worth checking out. read more

First and last time I support this business. I called two weeks ago to make a reservation to watch a game show that I was a contestant on (wheel of fortune). Called the day before to confirm and the day of. The day of they had no "knowledge" of my reservation. After tAlking to the owner it was decided I could watch the game show outside. All we needed was 30 minutes btw. They said they can't because the tv and the big tv inside were connected. They put my large party In a corner and say they will put the tv on but won't turn the volume down of the mediocre music down for 30 minutes because of "business" that honestly they barely had any. I'm upset my friends spent money on drinks and food there. We left and ended up watching it at a friend's place. Wanted to support and give money to a business during these difficult times especially. I will always remember how they made me feel which is like NOTHING. Again my first and LAST time at this establishment. A complete shame. read more

First time and will return. A classic bar for watching college football. And since ours was a night game, the bonus of a pretty good live band playing everything from Stevie Wonder to Tom Petty. Lots of screens. But that old-fashioned dark Irish bar atmosphere with just the right touch of grunge. And super busy but super attentive bartenders. Tight squeeze for seating, but that's because this had the evening crowd in full force. And Firestone as well as Lagunitas on tap. Plus a decent cider (did not catch the brand). Cheers. read more

This place makes me feel like home, I always love Irish Pubs, and will continue to after this one! I say it all the time. Amazing community of people at the bar, that when you sit down, you feel like family. Vicki the bartender is super cool, sweet, cute, and full of personality. She was so nice to spend time with while i had an hour or two to kill before work. Ordered the Reuben, which is gigantic, and sweet potato fries for 9 bucks! Amazing deal. Today was an amazing day, thanks to my time here at the pub. I've come here a few times over the years & while the staff here are friendly, it's really just an average space. If you're into sports they're all over this bar so you'll be set but for a chick who is really only a baseball or hockey gal, the day after Thanksgiving I just wasn't interested in sports stuff. I came out with some neighbors because they wanted to play pool & not have to deal with crowds. Everyone that comes here is also super friendly & quite frankly there were zero douchebag types going here. Joxter's is anything but pretentious. The staff was super nice too. So why the 3 stars? Honestly the food I had wasn't great but it was pricey. I can't completely fault a little dive bar for not making the best fish & chips though because, well, when you've had fish & chippers in England it kind of makes most everything suck comparatively so while I wasn't expecting much, it still could have been better for the price I paid. Fish & chippers + my ginner drink (gin/Hendricks + lemonade- pink is what they had) was about $30. The staff didn't seem really used to gin stuff there either but, in their defense, they did pour well with it so that's at least something. The crowd was older that night... except for one group of random punks? I guess they were there watching the game or something. It just felt a little comical to me in contrast with everyone that was there the other night. All in all, I regularly walk by Joxters and rarely give it the time of day. I had an ex that went here to watch football & all that. I'm pretty sure I've been here a few times in the past for Dodgers season stuff but it's been years since that ex & those days & while I had a decent night out with my friends, the place is really just kinda eh. I did like that it wasn't loud & dramatic though because that was necessary but going back to the... eh for what it was during not baseball season. read more

Just had a great time at this bar. Came to watch the Celtics and Heat game 7 and with so many TVs to watch the game on including the projector I will be coming back. The Irish Bartender was awesome and took care of everyone delinks and had a hat on that we spoke about the match from last night. I recommend this bar and the burgers and wings hit the spot. A solid neighborhood Irish pub with a wide selection of liquor and a bunch of beers on tap. They have billiards, occasional live music, and an open patio for those who enjoy the fresh air while having a brew. I used to visit regularly when I worked in the area, but that was 10 years ago. I found myself in the area and decided to visit and see if it's everything I remembered, which was really good. Nope - it's better! Interior nicely updated, the bartender lady was super friendly and quick/attentive to all customers, food is generous sized and good (though I admit the Philly cheesesteak could have had more seasoning)), and food and drink moderately priced. Do yourself a favor and just don't go - service sucks - employees the worst - talking sh!t about customers who can hear them - turned off the Dodger game with score tied in extra inning to show goofy videos and a soccer game that hadn't started yet. When I asked the bartender to put the game back on - he told me some else had asked to put the soccer game on, and he asked first. I didn't know I had to ask to watch the end of a game they were already showing .....a DODGER game - tied in extra innings - what LA sports bar does that? Joxer's is THE BEST. We were here the other day and a patron said something racist to another patron. First, the other diners stood up and intervened. The racist people quickly left, but when the staff heard about it they brought out a round to the people who had been recipients of that nastiness. And they kept checking on them and on everyone else. Good people! Not to mention the bloody Mary's are amazing and the buffalo sauce is so delicious and those Irish nachos are divine. I have been coming to this amazing pub for the last couple of years to watch my favorite sports and enjoy the amazing atmosphere. Thanks to Eugene they don't only show the Scottish or English league, he always finds a spot for me to watch my german league matches too. Eugene and Shannon are the secret stars of the Joxer. They handle every crowd and never lose their smile and good spirit. Shoutout to Shannon at this point for her life saving Bloody Marys best in town! I popped into this place in an effort to grab a quick lunch and catch the last 30 minutes of Bayern Munich v Real Madrid. And I did just that, and it was fine. This is the kind of place that you might find on the outskirts of Braintree, Massachusetts, or Fall River, or Bellingham where a couple of mooks run the joint and most everyone that goes there in the day is somewhat tough and in some cases scary, and that vibe relaxes a tad at night and the locals come in and kind of have fun. St Paddy's is their Super Bowl, I've been told this is a Redskins bar as well. This is that kind of place but it's in Culver City, also 86 the tough and scary. Somehow the sight of the place on a street lined with palm trees just doesn't give me the right feeling. Don't need a Jameson neat at 1 pm onna Tuesday, particularly when it is 72 and sunny out. But hey, if you have a hankering for a dark dingy soccer viewing/drinking session in the middle of the day this could be your spot. Big space, lots of TVs, ATM, Pool Table, dingy, dank, didn't see the restroom. No waitresses, at least in the day you go up to the bar to order everything and they give you a number. Patty melt was passable, save for the piping hot, completely cooked tomato buried in it. Never saw that one before, was easy enough to remove. The steak fries were good I guess. they have Malt Vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. Blah. read more
