Had a terrible experience when I came in last night with some friends who have been regulars here for years. They were also upset and felt bad for bringing us. The bald guy was SOO RUDE to our entire party and seemed upset that we were there. I saw one girl politely ask him to check on her order since everyone who ordered around the same time as her already had their food (40 minutes had passed since she'd ordered), and he gave her an earful about how there was only 1 guy working the kitchen and that it was our fault for bringing in a group without calling ahead. WHA?!?!??! You.... don't want a group of friends to come to your bar impromptu?? For context, about 25 of us trickled in over the course of an hour after a sports event, and maybe about 10 people ordered food. Everyone else just got beer. I would think a bar would be very happy about this. This bald angry guy was yelling that we overwhelmed the kitchen. It was 9 pm on a Saturday night and the bar was very empty when we started to arrive, with the entire area around the pool table open, but evidently they're not interested in patrons or customer service. If you're looking for some decently priced brew and a chill vibe to just hangout with your friends, this is the place. Their food is very reasonable and they have a lot of tvs for your viewing needs. It can get a bit busy if you go on game days, but any other day you're solid. Parking might be tough as your best bet is to find street parking. Irish nachos with steak fries. Order that and you'll be golden while enjoying your drink. It's basically like carne asada fries but better. The bartender was really nice. For trying to man the bar all by herself, I gave her props and a generous tip for her hard work. With drinks that won't break the bank and food to feed the belly. This is a great place to go. Very cool place. Was there on a Friday night to watch some NBA playoffs. They have lots of TVs and an various areas to sit an watch. They didn't have the sound on, but being a Friday night a live DJ which took precedence. Beers were nicely priced, and even though it has the "look" of a dive bar, the place was very nice and clean. Staff was super friendly. Lots of diversity inside the bar, and felt even a little trendy which was a lot nicer than what I was expecting. They had a pool table and a shuffle board table which were both getting a lot of good use. Also an AMI jukebox which you can submit songs to through an app on your phone. read more

This is nice bar, but my question is when are cats or any other type of pets allowed in a restaurant? Last time I went, there was this lady with her cat at a table. Joxer's is the best place in LA to watch Premiership football (soccer, if you prefer ;)) Eugene, the main man behind the bar is always obliging on which match you want to watch. He's so popular, on a busy match day I've heard the soccer fans sing "we love you Eugene". Now the Cock n Bull has closed, it's the best alternative on the Westside. It's had a refurbishment recently without losing it's Sport's Bar identity . The food, although basic, is above average for a Sport's Bar and very affordable. It's in a great location, just at Sepulveda & Washington so easy to get to and some parking at the back and meters at the front. I noticed they managed to stay open during Covid so want to support the business for those efforts. Accessible location, affordable drinks, good pub food and lovely bar staff. Watched a Liverpool game here for the first time recently. As a long time LFC fan, I'm pissed I didn't come here earlier. Was an incredible environment. Only reason it's not 5 stars is bc the TV in front of me's aspect ratio was screwed up (it was squished) for the Liverpool game, even though it was working properly for the previous game, and when I asked the bartender if he could fix (it's a simple button on the remote) he said "no," obviously because he was busy and didn't want to deal with it. Had my grandma 93rd birthday celebration here last night. A lot of family and friends showed up for this last minute event. It turned out to be a BLAST. The cherry on the top is she truly enjoyed herself. Folks were singing to her making her feel like the Queen she is the staff was amazing. You know with elderly people they always dropping something food, drinks ‍ but the waitresses cleaned it up promptly and completely was understanding. I truly appreciated that cuz I know it can get a bit annoying. The place was very roomy and was great for the crowd we had there which was more than expected. They had an outdoor seating area in the front and the back. I like the layout very cool. I wish they had more bathrooms or a larger one tho. But at least they have one in their establishment. Overall we weren't even suppose to be celebrating there this wasn't on the agenda but the other place was closed tonight and you know what I'm glad it was because we had so much fun on my grandma special birthday celebration karaoke night. God works in mysterious ways truly an enjoyable experience. I'm definitely going to mark this place down as a need to visit on a date night or girls round up or just because going forward. Well-priced drinks, and nice, unassuming and unpretentious folk. This is a great, local divey-ish sports pub...that is...until you break-up with your girlfriend who had previously dated the huge, ex-marine bouncer that looks like Brian Urlacher. Because she's a bit psycho, mean, and brings way too much drama into ones life - it had to be over and she wasn't very happy about it. Since, the ex-marine and her got back together, and he may just carry a little bit of extra hostility. So, if this is you, don't go back. If this is me -- I had enjoyed (past tense) this bar very much a few years ago. The outdoor patio is great for smokers, but slows you down when trying to quick exit. "Hail to the Redskins... hail victory... " Okay... maybe I'm biased because it's a Washington Redskins bar and during football season, I'm at the front (of the big screen) table with my "people". It's seriously my second home during August - December. The bartenders, and even the owner - Mehaul, are great and are like family to all the locals that come... which is religiously during the season - and I've been coming here since 2001!!! We make it easy for them all with our practically 'assigned' seats! Shout out to Cristi! Heeeey! During football season, there's automatically a sense of camaraderie since we're all routing for the same team... check us out when we all sing the Skins fight song in unison! The beers are about $4 and I usually either get the breakfast quesadilla (egg, cheese, bacon or sausage, served with potatoes, chips, sour cream and salsa) or their tuna melt (stacked high and served with steak or skinny fries)... both are excellent. They also have the BEST turkey burger. And wonderous blue cheese and ranch dressings! I'm sure they have a magic grill and magic fryer or sprinkle their food with fairy dust in their magic kitchen 'cause everything's pretty damn awesome. p.s. the women's restroom is fully stocked with your basic toilettries... lotion, hairspray, tampons, etc... all complimentary.. and hardly ever a line!! EEhhh,,, its OK! Nothing to exciting... Went here for happy hour with co-workers... The place seemed to cramped up, couldn't even sit on the high bar tables and chairs.... There is no waiter service, so you have to order all your drinks at the bar and get it yourself and bring it to your table... all the food is also ordered at the bar, so everyone lines up behind each other and orders off a the menu that you'll get if your lucky... I tried the Irish Nachos... which is nachos but with fries... was it good? eeh it was OK! I do like fat fries so they got my attention with that... Also tried the Joxer Burger... which was good... was it the best? probably not, but for far food it was good enough. Food was ok! No happy hour on the food... had beer and how can you mess up tap beer? you cant, so it was good... I got introduced to this place through a friend who hangs out here a lot. We came here to watch the Women's World Cup Final and it was bananas! It's not a huge place so it can get filled up fast for popular events. I've been back several times since then, at various days and times and most of the time it's pretty chill. I've even sung at one of their Wednesday karaoke nights--good times! Their draft beer selection is pretty basic so don't expect anything too fancy. Same for the food--your basic pub grub. That said, the bartenders here are all awesome and friendly, and it's just a good place to hang out with friends and/or watch some sports. I visited Joxer Daly's during the 2015-2016 NFL Playoffs to watch the Chiefs vs. Texans wildcard playoff game after Googling "best sports bars in LA" and finding Joxer Daly's listed on the following Eater LA list: http://bit.ly/1IWVwEd This bar was EXACTLY what I look for in a sports bar: * Full enough that there is energy during the game, but not so full that you can easily find a seat or put your order in * A bar with character, that could easily pass as a neighborhood bar but has that special something that makes it worth a drive to visit * Ability to see multiple games or see the BIG game every direction you look, (some bars skimp on TVs), Joxer's has walls plastered with TVs, the coup de grâce is a projection TV cast upon a large screen - sure you sacrifice on resolution, but size matters, plus there are enough HDTV screens at all other angles if you want the high-res * The lighting is soft and there is a lot of wood. There are high tables and regular tables and a wood bar to sidle up to Joxer Daly is a proud Irish bar. The table cards read "Order at the bar. Our waitress ran off with a Leprechaun", there is a Leprechaun cutout hung on one wall, and there is a Guinness "count down to St. Patrick's clock" on another. There is a wall of dedication to local policemen and firemen. There is another wall with a poster of all the presidents through George W. Bush with a separate framed picture of President Barack Obama. Some very distinctive aspects of the bar: * There is a large banner reading "Your Home for the Washington Redskins" (being from D.C. area this warms the bottom of my heart) * There is a half a police motorcycle sticking out of a wall next to the bar and the bartenders play the police sirens every time a touch down is scored. This bar gets four stars for authenticity and dive-bar/sports-bar ambiance. The beer selection is good for an Irish Bar: Irish stand-by's Guinness, Smithwicks, though no Harp // plus some american microbrews from Firestone and Anchor. However for a beer snob the tap selection is lacking. The food is what you'd expect and want from a sports bar. The JOXER WINGS are DANGEROUS. I do not recommend ordering them unless you're masochistic or drunk. The vinegar reminds me of mustard gas and the spiciness reminds me of pepper spray. I could only eat two wings. ON THE OTHER HAND, the GRILLED WINGS are DELICIOUS. ORDER THE GRILLED WINGS. AVOID JOXER WINGS. We also ordered chips and salsa. Chips are good. Salsa is weak. We ordered the "garlic bread" and enjoyed the butter toast but did not taste the garlic. However, we came here for the sports and Joxer Daly delivered on that primary objective. read more

My friend and I walked into this bar, security WAVED us in. I really needed to use the restroom so we went straight to the bathroom. Not even a minute into being inside this cramped bathroom, a lady yanks the door open and demands for our IDs. Fair enough, maybe the security guard was just slacking. We are both over 21. I give her my French passport and my friend gives her Utah State ID. She looks them over and says "get normal IDs in the future." What the hell?? She was so rude for no reason and obviously has never seen a non-California ID. Also, why wouldn't the security check ID in the first place? I normally love this place, and come almost every Sunday for Redskins games. HTTR. Anyway, these guys got an advance notice from SoCal Edison that there would be a planned power outage from 10 am till 5 pm on Sunday, and didn't read it and/or tell anyone. They let the bar fill up, ppl all bought beer, food, etc. and then during the first drive all the power goes out. Maybe they don't read their mail, but it's total crap that they didn't do anything for the packed bar of Skins fans there. Nothing off people's tabs, no free shots, nothing. Bar was packed - it's Dallas week - and they didn't do anything. Normally I love this place, but this definitely is far from valuing your customers - and your most loyal fan base. Frequented this place for the first time & had a bad experience with the bartender, Eugene. He was incredibly rude to myself & other customers. Within 5 minutes of my arrival, I went to the bar to get a drink. The bar was pretty empty & when I input my drink order, Eugene was already visibly annoyed. When I paid, Eugene threw the check and pen at me. I was shocked as I had not done anything for him to react that way. Other customers witnessed this & told me that they had a similar encounter with Eugene that same night. Reading through the Yelp comments, it appears that other customers have had bad experiences with him in the past yet he continues to be impolite & disrespectful towards customers. He needs to do better. The only reason this review is getting an additional star is because the DJ was amazing. read more

Mini Sliders: Probably won't get these again. They are not worth $3.50. The meat was overdone and not super flavorful, the bun is too big for the patty, there is just sauce and cheese on it. They weren't awful, just not great. I'd rather spend 99 cents on a burger from jack in the box. Hot Wings.: They kinda look like pigeon wings...they are very tiny! The sauce however is delicious and they give you a good portion for the price. The ranch is also tasty. I would absolutely get these again. I usually pay cash with each drink rather than run a tab but someone complained that they were overcharged on their tab. Who knows when you have had too many too drink. So I have a few concerns with this bar now that they have reopened. When we got there, no one checked our temperature and once inside the majority of the patrons were not wearing masks. The employees did wear masks and were behind the plexiglas behind the bar. But once you're around the bar and even outside none of the customers care about wearing masks nor kept a good social distance. And no staff members cared to inform people to respect that rule. This place is a no frills Irish pub. Cold beer and pretty good grub too boot - I've had fish tacos, fish and chips, philly cheese, buffoon chicken Caesar salad (when I was feeling healthy) and thoroughly enjoyed everything I've eaten. I usually go to catch a game - really good TV set up (even have a big projector) which can be rare these days in LA it seems with all the hip spots that have forgotten that some men just want to watch sports and drink beer and not be bothered. Anyway pretty low key spot with good bar and table seating for large groups and looks like there may be some karaoke/live music going on some nights but I've never stuck around for it. Crowd is typically very blue collar and un-presumptuous. So cozy up at the bar, be ready to hold your liquor like a man and make some friends. read more
