Ordered egg drop soup and got egg drop water.. un-edible. My Szechuan Pork was really bad. Dried out rice that seemed to be very old and overall tasted terrible. Normally I would not write a negative review but this is not the first time we had issues with the quality of the food. read more

Meh. I was really craving Chinese food and picked this place only because it was closest. Not a very good idea. I ordered chicken and broccoli and a small wonton soup. This place utterly shocked me tonight, not only with the disgusting food we paid $41 for, but the service was absolutely horrible! We have ordered from this restaurant several times and never had an issue, but tonight was different. We ordered shrimp lo mein, of which there were only 5-6 shrimp and the noodles were SLIMEY & DISGUSTING! We ordered a side of lo mein as well, which was exactly the same. We also ordered bourbon chicken and I've never seen chicken like this chicken we received. I don't think it was chicken which completely turned my stomach. We ended up having to throw everything away and when I called to let the "manager" know that I did not have the usual experience, he promptly told me I could "go somewhere else" and hung up on me. I called back to find out how I could speak with the owner and was hung up on again. Called back from my roommates phone and a very young girl answered the phone to inform me that the owner only speaks Chinese and that this was a family business but couldn't give the name of the manager I spoke to who rudely hung up on me. I do not recommend supporting a business where you can't even speak civilly to anyone and where the manager/owner does not speak some semblance of English. I will never give them my money again and I'll be contacting Tallahassee first thing Monday morning to report this restaurant's practices. read more

This place is right around the corner from us, so when we don't feel like cooking it is very common for us to order General Tso's chicken with extra sauce as it is our favorite. Tonight we placed our order and asked for extra sauce as usual, however when we got home there was literally no sauce in the bottom of the dish. We called the restaurant to let them know we didn't receive the extra sauce we ordered and asked if we could come back and get some extra sauce. We picked up the sauce and returned home to eat our dinner. First bite it became very apparent that the cook somehow took offense to us returning for sauce as the sauce was made ridiculously spicy at a level that made our dinner inedible. If this is how they choose to treat locals who are regular patrons, I can't even imagine how they treat guests to our city. No way we will ever return and we caution anyone else who may be thinking of ordering from this location. Unbelievable business decision Joy Luck. read more

Your typical Chinese-American food. Prices are good and they have lunch specials for under $5 which include a drink. Fried rice here has a better flavor than most places. General Tso chicken is very good here and you can request them to spice it up - mmmmm. My wife likes the chicken wings (fried) which are lightly breaded and not too greasy. Wonton soup lacks a little in the flavor department in my opinion. Lo-mein is good here too. Overall, one of the better choices for Chinese food in the area and they are consistent.... read more

I wish we had this on the east coast! Just recently tried this place when I was visiting my uncle and it tasted just like New York Chinese! They even do the pork fried rice perfect! Got a takeout order not impressed the fried wontons for the egg drop soup were stale and the soup was lacking in flavor, that was a problem with all the food we ordered, very bland. Portions were a good amount we had leftovers and added seasoning they were good for a second day, not the soup threw it away. read more

This is the WORST food, let alone worst Chinese food I have ever eaten!! Both entree's taste bad and order wasn't not cooked as requested, asked for light sauce and got dark sauce on the entrée and I asked for vegetable fried rice instead of pork fried rice and they gave me pork fried rice anyway. read more

Edible, but short on flavor, Sesame chicken had maybe 2 dozen sesame seeds sprinkled on it. Sweet and sour soup was sad and I'm never gotten yellow fried rice before. 1st and last visit. read more

This restaurant was beyond a disappointment place was dirty the food was cold had to have them reheat it and the food was cooked in two different places one dish was cooked up front but the rest was done somewhere else where you couldn't see it The seafood dish was synthetic they used imitation crab and tiny tiny scallops along with some shrimp The cook was wearing an undershirt. There is definitely a language barrier The CDC should definitely look into this restaurant they serve the food in takeout containers A very unsanitary place. Table was left dirty from the time we got in there until after we left. Not a safe place to eat all our food that was left over went right into the garbage. We got into town late so we didn't place our order until 9:15 pm (they close at 10PM). We were afraid that so late at night the food might not be fresh. We were wrong! Food was great - I had Hunan Shrimp and my husband had curry chicken. All vegetables crisp, flavors good and really hit the spot. We did take out. You could eat there if you wanted to. They are right next to Publix, so while they were cooking up our order, we went to Publix to pick up a couple of things (beer) to go with supper. Very pleased. Good prices too. read more

Without a doubt one of the best Chinese food places to eat (do not confuse it with the place of the same name in Edgewater whose food is horrible). We get take out from the Joy Luck in New Smyrna at least twice a month...never had a bad meal. In fact, it is consistently delicious...very authentic! read more
