Soooo good, but I admit I would've enjoyed it more for lunch! For drinks I got the chai latte which was a little on the watery side for my taste. I typically like creamier/richer tasting lattes. My friend got the Egg Toast in a Box (not pictured), and really enjoyed her meal as well! Both of us felt the ingredients were high quality and the menu items were perfectly crafted! Second time to Joya's, once for brunch during the farmer's market and once for dinner, and a great local spot in Worthington with great food. Really small spot (three tables and some bar seating) and the food comes out PIPING HOT. Order at the counter and they bring your food tableside--very accommodating for food allergies and great knowledge of coffee drinks and every dish on the small but great menu. The Joya's Fried Rice is a perfect umami with a crispy fried egg on top and fried pork belly, fried chicken balls, and crispy garlic with an addicting, slightly-sweet seasoning. I wish the chicken balls were a little easier to eat, but definitely a great crunch against the soft and hot rice. They have a great variety of spice options for each dish. Some bakery options earlier in the day, bottled bevs, and some loose leaf teas and bagged coffees to take home. Arrive to Joya's early. Space is limited and tight, so you'll most likely be waiting in a line next to the tables while trying to avoid making eye contact with people eating their food. Don't let the long line stop you though, the wait is worth it! Despite the wait, service is quick once orders have been placed at the counter. This place was super yummy! We came on a weekend, and decided to take ours to go since it was so busy and a bit small (so much so that we went outside to wait for our order despite it being winter). The inside is really colorful and they have cookies in a "take one" jar that you can snack on which I thought was really thoughtful. The breakfast sandwiches were all delicious! We ended up getting the Joyas breakfast sandwich, Bobby's breakfast sandwich, Cheese Chapati, and the Kati roll. I'm not even a huge fan of eggs but devoured the breakfast sandwiches , and the added fried inari in the Bobby's sandwich cut through the egg with a nice sweet umami flavor. Definitely not the first time to Joya's, but I am a first timer for their Breakfast sandwich. If you happen to be going for the Worthington Farmer Market, then you will have to add a breakfast/lunch stop at Joya's. I ordered my breakfast sandwich with Bobby's way and you totally should too. From the start to finish, you can experience a different flavor profile from each of the ingredient combine. Things that stood out to me is the super fluffy scrambled cheesy eggs, crispy GBD Jumbo Chaatbrown and both the black pepper and the spiced maple bacon. Everything just bind together nicely. If you are looking for a flavor packed meal then you've found the perfect spot. I had been meaning to check this place out for forever and I'm so happy I was finally able to get in. Caveat, if you go on the weekend don't let the line deter you because it moves so quick and we got our food so quick! Everyone in there is super friendly and I love how cute and comforting this restaurant is. It is smaller so once you see an open spot be sure to snag it. If I could give this place 10 stars out of 5, I would. Everything I tried here was amazing, and the wait staff was very helpful and pleasant. I just wish I had tried the place sooner as it is a gem in Worthington. Parking in downtown Worthington can be tricky, however, there is a decent sized parking lot behind the restaurant if street parking is not available/not your thing. The place is small and is always packed (for good reason), although, on my visit, there were more available spots in the bar area than the tables. Either way, make sure to bring time as the wait to find both parking and a spot to sit is completely worth it. On this visit, I tried the Samosas, the Breakfast Sandwich, the Kati Roll, and the Fried Rice. I also had the Thai Tea. Everything was delicious, and as busy as the place was, our server was very accommodating of my customization requests. They were able to swap out the lamb for chicken in the Kati roll, and also take out the bacon in the fried rice. The Kati roll was some of the best I have ever had, and the fried rice is better than any fried rice you will find in the best Chinese/Thai places in town. The Thai tea was so good that I devoured it before taking a picture of it. Chef Avishar has now created two amazing (and completely different) concepts within a very small span of time - Agni and Joya's. His semifinal nomination (at the time of this review) for "Chef of the Year" award in the Great Lakes region from the James Beard foundation is a testament to his hard work and talent getting national recognition. A small group of us stopped at Joyas after hitting up the Worthington Farmers Market. It was packed!! Be warned that seating is not a guarantee, but our group of 3 did get lucky with seating at the bar. I ordered the Joya's breakfast sandwich in the regular size ($13). I can see why people stan over Joya's. Everything on the menu looks and sounds great, and it's packaged in an small, inviting Old Worthington space with a well-known, engaging chef. And the food generally backs up the acclaim. I came expecting to love the Breakfast Sandwich, but I left loving the Kati Roll. It's perfect, from the wrap itself to every internal filling. The Breakfast Sandwich was anchored by a nicely seasoned bun and a large, delicious, moist and fluffy cheesy egg. The bacon, chutneys and chives also add sweet and savory profiles that enhance all elements. On the downside, the Scotch Egg can be skipped. The shell was on the mushier side and the insides were lacking in flavor. The accompanying condiment mix couldn't save the day either for this side. The red sauce tried admirably, but it was overwhelmed by the blandness of the green sauce. Despite the Scotch Egg, which isn't one of their featured entrees, I was pleased with Joyas. Cute breakfast spot in Worthington! I stopped in on a rainy Saturday morning with friends and it was packed. The inside has only a few small tables and bar area which makes it hard to sit down and eat (many people seemed to linger at their spots once finished despite people obviously waiting for seats). The breakfast sandwich was tasty - a little greasy (as are some of their other items based on friend reviews) but still flavorful and a good portion. They were also giving samples of a chai latte that was tasty! There are few places in Columbus that I have tried harder to finally get - the hours here are a bit wonky, but if you can make it work, it is well worth it. The Kati Roll was absolutely amazing - the crunchy exterior made for such a good contrast from the mushy interior. The flavor profile was so unique too - rarely do you get those kind of things (lamb kebab, egg, pickled onion, maple chaat yogurt, chutneys) for breakfast/lunch but alas I tried it and I would do it again 1000x over. It just WORKS. Tried my sister and cousins meals as well - the tacos and (not) pad thai, also super unique and delicious. The decor inside is undeniably creative and gives off a really authentic vibe to the place. Not a ton of room to sit - and typically the line is fairly long - but they file through it fast and make it well worth your time. GO GO GO!!! read more

I tried to come late morning on a weekday and I had no luck finding parallel parking nearby. The place looked busy. Tons of people sitting inside and outside. I gave up and went home. I tried again the next day, showing up 15 minutes after they opened that morning. Some Yelpers mentioned if you go during the day, it'll be hard to find a seat. Makes sense since there aren't other coffee shops nearby. There's not really any cafe options around here to hang out at. I was able to parallel park right in front! When I walked in, there was an older couple sitting and drinking their coffee, and a woman who looked to be waiting for her breakfast before heading to work. I tried the mini breakfast sandwich and the cafe de olla. The barista described the drink as something similar to an americano. It was sweetened with mocha. Not bad! I'm not usually an Americano person but I'd come back to try the drip coffee. As a note, they do have alternative milks. As I didn't see that listed on their menu or online. The sandwich was delicious! It had egg, candied bacon, and a sauce in it. The bread was dense but not heavy. Substantial even though it was the mini. It's a good size if you're not into a heavy breakfast. It kept me full for a couple hours. I'd come back to try other stuff from the menu! Prices are a bit elevated but it makes sense for the area. It's also Bengali. Not something you can find around here. Staff was nice! Friendly and really helpful to explain the menu. They do have a good amount of seating inside. Finally we got to try Joya's!!! We've been wanting to for a long time and we only have weekends to make it out that way. We lucked out!!!! Came this Sunday morning with no line!!! We ordered Kati Rolland breakfast sandwich to share with two Nitro chai. The chai transported me back to Kerala.... Both sandwiches were incredible. Seasoned to perfection. No additional hot sauce needed ( I am a notorious about hot sauce added to any dish and have to force myself to enjoy the dish as created) Not today tho. Mmmmmm! I finally had time to try Joya's - owner Avishar's brainchild that he opened after his stint on Top Chef a few years ago. Met Yelp friends for a later breakfast, so there were seats inside (albeit, in general, there's one very small two-top table, and three or four bar seats, so space is a premium here), but the four front patio tables were occupied and had to wait about 10 minutes for one to open up; at any rate, no biggy. I went with their Breakfast Sandwich and it was very good! I did feel like it was a bit lacking on the price-to-quantity ratio, but now that I think about it, $13 is pretty fair considering the costs of products and labor nowadays. The flavors melded really well, no odd spicy pops, great cheesy eggs, definitely would get that sucker for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Also tried the Nitro Chai, and it was very good! Joya's is so small that it is amazing the restaurant seems to work so efficiently while having such a warm, welcoming ambiance. The staff out front including the hosts/cashiers and baristas were all so wonderful to interact with and watch work. There was such a lovely sense of camaraderie among them that only added to the warmth of the whole package. Even though tiny, I've managed to get seating the times I've chosen to go into the fray. Plus, I know I'm burying the lede here--the food is fantastic. The Tofu Crispy Manchurian sandwich is mind-bogglingly delicious. It's twice-fried Manchu glazed tofu (or chicken) is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Now that I'm talking about it, I'm craving it again. I don't see how they sell anything else once someone tries these sandwiches. Granted, the people I came with did seem to think their own food choices were equally as delicious, including a breakfast egg sandwich in a box. And my companions all loved their lattes. I've only heard good things about Joya's and was excited to finally go! It's a nice area, nice cozy restaurant, and warm ambiance. There is limited seating and limited bar seating and they mostly do to-go orders. I'm sad that the hours are so limited and I can't go after work, but would have to take the day off or go on the weekend. There's street parking around the area and other shopping and dining spaces. The menu is short and simple, you really can't go wrong with any choice. I got the Kati roll, which is incredible, and so delicious. It's made well, has a unique and super flavorful sweet and tangy sauce and the lamb is so good. I also got the milk chai and that was good, I feel like it could have used a bit more spice. I tried the nitro chai and really like it, it's a bit sweetener and bolder in flavor. For the roll and a cup of chai, it's about $22+tip, which is a tad expensive but really delicious food. I want to try everything else because I've only heard good things, but I'll have to try to find time during their hours. Staff was nice and service was pretty quick and easy. They don't have a ton of seating, but we went really early and got a table but it quickly filled up to no seating room. I recommend this for breakfast, lunch, a quick bite, casual date, and a unique and flavorful food experience. What a great addition to Old Worthington and Columbus food scene! Chef Avishar has done it again. I have been waiting to try this place for months and was lucky to find my way during my birthday weekend. It was a treat to say the least. Ambiance is cute cafe style. It was packed on Saturday at 12pm and we had to wait a few minutes to be seated. I tried the Kathi Roll was glove bomb in my mouth and it was large enough to share. This is the only place in Columbus that does it and does so much justice to the Kolkata street food, I have had back in India. It's packed with flavors that works harmoniously together. The Roti is crispy and flakey. The lamb kebabs inside was juicy and well seasoned. The mint chutney and pickled onion added so much flavor to the roll. The sauce has a sweetness and kick to it and you get the punchy pickled onions between bites. I also tried the drip coffee Joya's way which reminded of the South Indian filter coffee you get back home. Another of my must try drink is Joya's milk chai. read more

I finally got a chance to make my way to Joya's! I was interested to see how they'd make such a small space work, and they managed to make it cozy without feeling cramped. There's not a ton of space to stand at the counter is multiple people are waiting to order, so I'd recommend doing the classic anxious millennial move; look up their menu before going so you'll have a good idea of what they have and what you'd like. Even with my menu prep before going in, I still panicked and ordered the first thing on the menu. I ended up with breakfast sandwich and I'm glad I did! The bun and eggs are soft, the bacon adds some texture and saltiness, and the sauce here really stands out. Herby and just the right amount of spice. The staff was very nice and let my kid order just a side of toast and bacon, he's not a very adventurous eater so I'm thankful we found a place where we're both happy.
