Just opened a week ago and though I'd check it out with the family. Had to walk out from the disgusting service before we even got to try the food. Had to ask 3 times to have a highchair cleaned for my son and they brought a dirty one with old food stuck in them. The menus were already worn out and dirty like they came from an older restaurant. Food was ok. Food did not look like the pictures. The full menu was not available, which was not worth the price without the full menu. The grill was not working properly and must be set to high. Which burnt the meat faster than cooking even with excessive oil being used. We never received all of our orders even though it was only 10 items for two people. Only 7/10 items arrived before we finished eating and our server never asked us if we wanted to order more. Our server came to refill our water after we finished but took over 15 minutes to come back with the water. We asked the server for our check and they brought our check within 1 minute and we left after. Ambiance was decent. They didn't have chopsticks available and no one knew where the chopsticks were located in the back. I can't really say that we had an amazing experience. I think the food and the ambience were great but our server is inexperienced.. She struggled attending multiple tables, not attentive and she took so long taking our order. There were moment that we didn't have any more food on the table and we waited for about 10 minutes just for her to take our order. We didn't get all of the food that we ordered. The most awkward moment is when she asked us to pay our bill already after we just got our second round of meat and we're sitting there for about 45 minutes. We were still grilling meat, I thought that was awkward and lack of courtesy. She definitely needs more time to train and learn a little bit more about customer service. Overall, the food was great and hopefully we get a better server next time we visit. read more

The ambiance is perfect. This is my second time eating at Jpot and I specifically requested Tevee because she provided awesome service the first time. The food is good, the short ribs are my favorite! They have a bar of appetizers of all shorts. And a bar to of many different ingredients to concoct your own sauce/s. You can add $5 for the ramen bowls/pots, every one at the table would have to pay $5 each. (Have yet to try the ramen). The price is better than other bbq spots I've experienced and well worth it. read more

My wife, and I were spending the weekend in Corpus Christi. We saw J Pot Korean BBQ on "restaurants near us", on my phone. Sounded good, and we decided to give it a try, We were completely surprised. Our waitress Mariam was very patient, informative, and personal. She explained how their menu worked. It turned out to be a great eating experience. We loved being able to enjoy our drinks, while grilling the different meats. The flavor was incredible. The garden bar, sushi, sashimi, 15 various sauces, crab legs, even the small fridge with the ice cream was the best. Not to mention the saki bombers we had! We definitely plan to introduce J Pot to our friends. The best part was how reasonably priced the food was. It's was shocking to see how reasonable the price was, verses how much we both ate. We really can't say enough about this place. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, looking for a fun experience, along with good food! read more

Previously, my son had eaten here when they first opened this restaurant. He said that there were a lot of service personnel and food was immediately brought to the table. With this experience, I went today at lunchtime with my son. We were seated and our waitress Tevy, was friendly. Our first order of meats arrived in 5 minutes. While grilling the meat, I didn't see our waitress so I asked another waitress to take our order for our second batch of meats. We ate the first batch of meat then waited for the second batch. 15 minutes went by and nothing arrived. I flagged another waiter and he said he would check in the kitchen. He went in the kitchen then came out but completely ignored us. I waited 5 minutes more then approached the lady manager. I explained to her that we have been waiting for 20minutes and are very hungry already. She said she would check in the kitchen. She went in the kitchen then came to our table to say that they will bring it out shortly. So we waited again. By that time, it was already 30minutes and still nothing. I approached the lady manager again and told her that the wait time is already ridiculous. She again went in the kitchen. After 40minutes, our second batch of meats came out. We had ordered beef brisket, bulgogi, beef skirt, Toro. The meats were okay for the price. However, I won't be going back with this bad experience, especially from the manager who couldn't care less for her customers. read more

Food was great, but management needs a massive lesson in leadership skills. We personally witnessed staff working hard and tending to customers, while the manager consistently and negatively critiqued staff leading by intimidation and making comments in front of customers. I am not willing to frequent a restaurant where the staff is treated poorly by leadership and ownership, no matter how good the food. Great concept but the way the prices work is crazy. We ordered at lunch time, two of us wanted the dinner options but then we were told we all had to pay dinner. My husband and I wanted the grill side and our kids wanted ramen, we had to pay the price upgrade for us all unless we all chose either ramen or grill. Kinda sneaky way to make the most for them. Giving low review because of that. Our server didn't tell us there was a time limit and at the end told us we were coming up to it. So then we felt rushed. She also kept forgetting stuff that was essential for eating and we had to ask repeatedly (bowls for our soups, knives for steaks, no drinks for two of our kids, refills). First time here. Our server Icie was new but was still very helpful with recommendations and choices. We both picked the hot pot option. The food came out quick and we were able to add spices from the spice bar. The ambiance is great for date night. Excellent music and the decor is nicely themed. Second time around and it just got better ! We asked for Andres again And thank gosh he was luckily working. He did an amazing job last time and he did even better this time!. We did both the hot pot and grill this time , and he pretty much ran the show started us off with the new Broth and the new cuts of meat so we can try them out. The tonkasu was mine fave, my wife stayed with her miso . Still non the less amazing. Andres started us off slow cuz last time we didn't take his advice and not overwhelm ourselves with a bunch of meat. So this time we listen to him and it took it piece by piece three meats and then three meats and then we kept on going because we noticed that it is a lot of food. And he recommended saving the best for last which is the filet mignon, and that was the best advice as well. That was so good. I definitely recommend that.! 1st time there and no instructions and very little help on what to do then when we figure it out the waitress recommends us not to do something specific. Paid $140 for 3 people and never received our final request of shrimp that we ordered. Soda was flat and I asked for tea and she brought me sweet tea and I didn't know there was a choice.
