So this is our second visit here. The first time was a Tuesday, but it was around 5-5:30pm. It was not busy yet. We waited for about 15 minutes after being seated for our server to help us. Todays visit, same thing. We were seated at the same time as the people next to us. They had drinks, chips, appetizers before we even had someone show up to help us. The taco Tuesday special is excellent. $1.99 for each taco, they have 9 different types and margaritas for $4.99. So the service has not been great, but the food and drinks are pretty good. read more

Food is delicious and prices are excellent. My husband and I were shocked to have so much food for the priced we paid. It was ALLLL so delicious. I had the Chicken Mole--good flavor but not the best I've had. I prefer the really dark, chocolatey kind. They ran out of bone in chicken and gave me shredded chicken which was a little dry. My husband had the Skillet Trio which he said was tasty and worth it. The service was good. We loved the decorations and music...great atmosphere. Will come back. read more

I decided to try Jaunchos Authentic Mexican Restaurant...I heard they offer a lunch buffet served Monday through Friday from 10-2 pm. It did not disappoint. I chose their street style tacos served with either Al Pastor, Chicken or Carnitas. I had one of each. Delicious. Their buffet offers everything from Cheese Enchiladas, Potato Tacos, Menudo, Albondigas, Chile Colorado, Chili Verde, Rice, Beans, and Salad Bar. There's also a chips & salsa bar, a salad bar and a desert bar too!Their lunch buffet offers something for everyone. It's a great value. Sadly I am disappointed to have to write this review... I have previously left a review in 2018...this was one of my all time favorite Mexican restaurants and I preached about it to everyone.. I visited today and was so disappointed in the service and food... What happened??? I ordered a mango margarita and there was no tequila, or tasted like a Jamba juice smoothie... I ordered the Diablo burrito and I remember struggling to finish eating it the last time I had it because it was so spicy...but I love spicy food.... The salsa for the chips was spicier than my El Diablo burrito... I asked the waiter for a side of the habanero salsa they used for my burrito ....surprise surpise....the waiter said they ran out!!! So why did I receive a Diablo burrito when they didnt even have the salsa to make it spicy! It's ridiculous!! I am sitting here writing this review right now at the restaurant....its been 20 minutes since I've seen the waiter....so I can pay to leave.... The woman's bathroom is closed.... I hope the male manager from 4 years ago still runs this place because this used to be my favorite spot and sadly...I likely won't be back read more

I am a frequent customer of Juancho's in Upland as I work very close to the restaurant and I was very dissatisfied with my birria burrito tonight as a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure this was a Carnitas burrito with little to no flavor. The burrito is very pricey for them to give me something with very little meat and no flavor burrito was filled with rice, onions and beans. I am very dissatisfied. Unfortunate since I've recommended this place to a lot of of my customers I will no longer be doing that and will warn them From now on. read more

We had horrible experience with the Manger. I came in after a family funeral service and had a party of 20 people. The manager guy was taking his sweet time to seat us. The tables had already been wiped and cleared yet he took about 30 minutes to "prepare the table" after the previous party had already left. He placed one menu at a time and was slowly shuffling on purpose. Meanwhile my family was waiting patiently and my 83 year old aunt was standing waiting and I told him if we can at least be seated (mind you the tables were empty, wiped, and clean) but he insisted no and we had to wait for him to "prepare the table" and add chips before we could even be seated. His customer service was horrible. I will say the waitress was very kind and helped served us quickly and helped us with all our payments. She did her best and was great. Just the manager guy was rude and needs to be better. This is not how you run a business (unless you want to ruin business) and I hope he reads this and doesn't act stupid with other guests. Food- So, I was here for the $14.99 weekday buffet. Brought a $2 coupon from the Upland Claremont Quarterly magazine. I am more than stuffed! I had so many little tries of a lot of items. I had potato, shredded beef, and al pastor tacos. The taco guy that I am, I really love the potato tacos the best! The chicken molé, cheese enchiladas, BBQ beef ribs, beef empanadas, and chicken that just fell off the bone were all very tasty! For desserts, the red colored cake with the whipped cream, red jello, watermelon, and rice pudding with cinnamon had great freshness and flavor. Service- When I came into the restaurant I was given a proper warm greeting with a smile. I was pretty easy for them to handle as I did the buffet. To wash all down the waitress kept refilling my water. Ambiance- I love the feeling when I am inside here. Definitely feels like I came to another country to get away. Love the decor! Even the outside seating in the shade looks cool to sit there if not too hot. Always enjoy the Mexican music in the background. Always very clean! Overall- It is always a great experience here! One would be foolish not to eat here while charging their EV. Guacamole was made in front of me to perfection. Two baskets of chips, Yum. It was rather filling, so I went right for the flan. I haven't visited this place in a while and in sorry I haven't. This place services a wide variety of dishes at good prices. My cousin was visiting and we had to have him get a taste authentic Mexican food. We got the molcajete, albondigas, menudo, birria and a couple of drinks. First the molcajete which was supposed to feed two was able to feed 5 of us. Albondigas had a nice clean flavor, birria was flavorful and on point with a good consome to go with it. Give your customer a call and let them know. Is the teaspoon of meat your standard serving? Unacceptable. The rice was good, I guess? It's been almost a yr since we've come here, we stopped coming because the food was not good anymore. We decided to give it one more shot, and of course COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED. The horchata was watered down, I ordered a chile relleno burrito which I took a bite of and had to send it back, cheese tasted old, the inside was completely cold. The chicken tenders my daughter got were chewy. My husband's burrito has chucks / pieces of cinnamon sticks. Best thing we had was the beer, soda and slasa. When I tried to speak to the manager he was not there, and I don't want a free dinner I just wanted him to know what their food tastes like. We will never give this place another chance. read more

OMFG!!! I've been here before but I'm eating these as I write the review. Hands down the best Mexican appetizers I've had. Pizza is HUGE, was not expecting it to be that big. Great flavor, if a little brittle. Jalapeño Poppers are the best I've had, sauce is perfect. Must tries when you go here. Prices are normal. Ambiance is really nice, great vibes. My wife and I try to come to Taco Tuesday every week if we're not busy! Taco Tuesday has (I believe) $3 tacos and $4 house margaritas. You order a ticket and bring it up to the taco bar where the lovely taco ladies make you your shell and add the meat - then around the corner is the self serve topping bar with numerous salsas (hot, verde, standard) limes, cilantro, and onions. You can always order off their full menu - they have gigantic mexican entrees, rice, beans, etc. If you come for taco tuesday come early or expect a wait - it's super popular for the college students. Orlando is our usual waiter and he's always super kind, attentive and welcoming. Come try Juanchos when you have a moment - it's one of my favorite mexican restaurants ever! read more

I gave this place 3 chances. After our first visit, I called to inform them of our terrible service and to please train their staff. The waitress did not come once to ask us if we needed anything. The second time was a little better. The waiter asked us if we needed anything but did not return with what we asked for. The third time went back to no service. I ordered a margarita and water to drink. The margarita tasted different from the other two times we were there. It was not good. I left it but drank all of my water. We used to go to Juancho's when it was in Ontario, by the San Antonio Winery. It was a very good Mexican restaurant that made very good food and treated you like family. They moved and we never knew where. We were pleasant to be able to find it thriving at this new location. I'm happy to say the food and service haven't changed. [Food] I really enjoyed their various meats options, it's best to mix with their rice. Also, they have fish, shrimp, meat sauce spaghetti. There are three types of meat to choose from at the taco area, their fresh made tortillas are really good, but I think their Taco Tuesday's meat taste better. In addition, they also have fresh made pancake, omelette, waffles etc. For sweetness, I tried the sweet chips, churros, and also the brownie, all of them are good. [Service] Aways friendly. Date: June 26, 2025 As much as it pains me to admit it--especially to my wife--I was wrong to give Juancho's Upland, Ca. location one last chance to redeem itself. Today's visit only reaffirmed why we stopped going in the first place. Upon entering the restaurant, we stood at the hostess podium for a few minutes. Two or three staff members saw us and simply walked by without so much as a greeting or acknowledgment. Eventually, I took the initiative and followed a waitress to the back to inquire whether the lunch buffet was still available. Without making eye contact, she snapped, "We close at 2!" That was the final straw. I took my wife's hand, and we walked out--again. This was our first visit in over a year, and sadly, it mirrored our last attempt: we walked in and quickly walked right back out due to poor service. Our family used to be loyal patrons of Juancho's, but over time, the service deteriorated so significantly that we chose to stop supporting the business altogether. It's a real shame because the food is genuinely good. However, the service has consistently been the worst we've experienced at any restaurant--and we're not customers who complain often. We're courteous, patient, and easygoing diners who tip well and appreciate good hospitality. Unfortunately, Juancho's has repeatedly failed to deliver even the most basic level of service. Ironically, we live just behind the owners and frequently see their company vehicle parked in the driveway. We've been tempted more than once to knock on their door and share our repeated negative experiences directly. But instead, I'm writing this in hopes that they, or someone who cares about this business, will listen. We will never return. And we'll be sure to share our experiences with others. Perhaps then, the message will finally get through: no matter how good the food may be, terrible service will always leave a bad taste. read more
