Good food, great service. Like their big sister Lottie's, Jude's has interesting and well done versions of standard "new american." The place is made better by friendly and accommodating staff. Take out is a little spotty from a portion stance, but their food is better fresh anyway. read more

Love the atmosphere, food, drinks and service. We just stopped by for a quick drink and appetizers. We got the fried cheese curds, cheesy bread, slaw and cider. The cheese curds come with a marinara and a ranch type sauce. I wish I could eat these every day. And the cheesy bread was on crispy focaccia. The slaw was great too. Erin was our server/bartender. She was so nice, answered my questions, and joked around. Great prices, too! read more

Great place with a solid menu. The food was really good - I had the special (some kind of fish dish) that was eaten up. Good drink menu plus they have the "fish bowl" of some infused liqueur. It's on the way if you are heading to Renton. Check that - when you are heading away from Renton!! I would give it the five star but service was a little slow. read more

This place is amazing. It is a great little gem with authentic NOLA/creole influence. I've been in search of the best poutine in the greater Seattle area and Jude's is winning hands down. (At first I thought their Rosemary beef gravy was a bit heavy on the garlic but the four others I've brought here to try it all disagree, so it's clearly just me!) Jude's is a warm, welcoming place with great food. It feels like someone's living room. A new addition to Rainier Beach, it's run by the same people who own Lottie Mott's in Columbia City. That means they have years of experience creating menus, hiring and training staff, and generally creating a positive dining experience. The menu at Jude's is the right size. Big enough for everyone to find something, but not so large that the kitchen is trying to be all things to all people and doing nothing well. It's most hearty, rich food. Though there are some salads and other light bits for people who want that instead. It's sold as family-friendly, which it surely is. There is a whole section of the menu for Mac 'n' Cheese. This place was a lot better when it first opened. It is overpriced, bad service. Had to ask young waitress with blue eyes, for water. With prices like these, a person should automatically get water. Well drinks are way too much. I ordered a gin and tonic. Did not taste like tonic. I like the lemony taste. Apparently tonic is made there. Why wasn't I given a choice. I ordered French fries. Took forever. I wanted typical chicken wings, or nachos, regular bar food, not happening here. Paid $5.00 for French fries. ugh. read more

Homey, comfortable, and welcoming. Amazing food, carefully conceived and executed. Great drinks, unique specials, and good service (every time I've been there!). I live in Southern CA, but visit Seattle frequently. Despite many, many dining options, I always leave room in my schedule for a meal at Jude's. Jude's is the real Columbia City to me. It's a classic joint that feels as comfy as your favorite shoes--with a brand new pair of socks. The staff is friendly, and if you go there much they'll get to know you. I love Jude's!! read more

Great neighborhood bar and restaurant. I have tried several entrees and never been disappointed. My favorite is the Tommy cheese curds and their version of the Moscow Mule with ginger infused vodka is delicious. It's a small place so I wouldn't recommend for groups larger than 8-9 people. read more

I really like this place. Nice atmpsphere and super friendly staff and patrons. This is just what Rainier Beach has been needing. Really nice beer and drink selection and the moscow mules come in these really cool copper cups. The food was good but I do wish they had a little better selection; maybe a few less sandwiches and a few more entrees or maybe a Friday special. If they can hook that up, it'll be my regular Friday night joint. It's just as it is now I probably won't go every week just because I've had everything on the menu that I want to eat. My girlfriend and I love Jude's. While we are not locals, whenever we visit friends in Rainier Beach we always insist on dinner (or at least happy hour) at Jude's. Living very close by I was excited for this place to open. I've given it a few tries and I just don't like it. It's small, during peek hours you can't get a table. Because of the small size it seems very bar like which is fine. However children are allowed and encouraged, so there are lot of them. It's just odd that there is a metal guard rail that divides the bar from the restaurant thus allowing children. But you have your regular bar folks sitting at the bar doing their bar thing which isn't very kid friendly. The food has never been good. I had a fried chicken sandwich and the actual breast was tiny and insulting relative to the bread. The chicken didn't cover half the size of the bread. And the bread was loaf bread grilled. The gumbo is light years from any legitimate actual Southern gumbo. Same with the tiny corn bread muffin. If you've had The Ale House gumbo in Columbia City that is light years better. I do appreciate their attempt at beers on tap. read more
