With all juice places, this can be an expensive, but healthy habit. I got the Tree of Life and absolutely loved it! I wanted something on the spicy side, and this definitely had a kick, not to mention Asian ingredients that have their own set of benefits, such as tumeric and ginger. My friend got a fruitier, sweeter one -- can't go wrong with that. The location was very Austin-y with a fountain and large tree and weird trinkets around. There was also a cool flyer with a map of nearby eateries and things to do. It was nice seeing all the runners and cyclists coming in the morning after their workout for a drink. I was unpleasantly surprised to see the menu change, and the new look at my old daily juice. I suppose it could be like most, I'm a bit resistant to change...but when you have something SO GOOD, why change it? I didn't really want anything in particular on the new menu...the prices seemed higher (was that my imagination?) and when I finally decided on something that sounded okay...the girl at the register took my nearly full (9 spots full) "Daily Juice Card" and said she would switch it over to a new one. (?) At the time I didn't know all the locations weren't all changed...so, I was pretty upset when I got to a true-blue Daily Juice and presented a full card for $5 off they wouldn't accept it! I can't blame them...there was no way for them to know I hadn't spent all my money with them. I don't even want to go back to the JuiceLand location...now I have to. I guess it will give them a chance to redeem themselves, but I'm not sure that they can. The people are nice enough. There is still a funky vibe and the awesome raw treats...but...the menu look, prices and choices just ruin it. I'm not a happy camper...what's happening to Austin?! I love the Daily Juice concept. This location looses a few stars for me for a number of reasons. 1. My drinks aren't as thick and tasty as they are at the Duval store. I don't know why, but I plan on asking next time I'm in. 2. It's a complete waste of your time if you're driving, there are like 2 parking spots. Great if you're walking (cyclists get 15% off I think) 3. I called my order in ahead (which they are always very pleasant about accommodating), very nicely thanked the gentleman for taking my order on the phone because I was running late to work. He then engaged me in 20 questions when I arrived at the store which normally I would consider great customer service but I had already told him I was running late so I actually considered this rather rude. Funny - I could have written the last 2-star review myself. I wonder if this guy went to the new location at 45th and Duval? Smoothie good but not worth the pain (at least at the new location 45th and Duval) The only difference from his review is that the person taking my order was nice enough, but after that was dreadful. After 25 minutes and a 2-year old w/ no smoothie I got the wrong order (oops...now we have to remake another one) and then finally the Bananas and Rice Milk - not exacty smoothie mixology - arrived. There were about 5/6 customers and the same number of employees in the place, so it was really mysterious what could take so long. The Daily Juice is one of my favorite little local Austin finds. I can't believe people are actually complaining about the wide variety of raw foods sold here! There aren't that many places in Austin where you can even get raw foods, but this place has a great variety. Is it pricey? Yes. I wouldn't go there every day, but there are cheaper drinks you can get. And you feel so great after enjoying a fresh, raw juice drink here. If you need a boost, I highly recommend getting an organic wheatgrass shot. It's a great treat that gives you instant energy. read more

Love this place! Menu options are delicious, though it's a little overpriced (be prepared for a $8 12oz drink) and sometimes slow. They also carry some packaged natural foods like granola, dried fruit, gogi berries etc. natural baked goods/lunch options, and some knick-knacks. A good place to stop for a last minute gift if you have a vegan friend. I had a pastry from their bakery case and was underwhelmed, but it may have been vegan/gluten free so I won't judge too harshly. Much hype about this place, so I had to try it out on a recent return to Austin. I ordered the Strawberry Limeade and also tried my friend's Tsunami. Both were good, but there were some things that made this place only a 3-star in my eyes. First off, parking SUCKS. Circled around the block a few times before managing to squeeze into one of the parallel sports. Secondly, this place is expensive!! $7 for a smoothie? Meh. And finally, you would expect this place to be more refreshing, but the drinks were lukewarm at best...and a lukewarm smoothie does not make me feel good. Things I will give them: a really diverse and interesting menu that pretty much embodies the Austin vibe. I do love Daily Juice and think they have the best smoothies I've ever tasted. I've lived in some pretty crunchy towns, so that's saying a lot. Try the one with pecans and chocolate chips. It's more of a dessert smoothie and probably has a billion calories, but it's well worth it. Minus one star for the fact that they always fill the cups only 3/4 full. Daily Juice 1 Everyone Else 0 I don't like other smoothie places because they use dairy. As a lactose intolerant individual, this is very upsetting. I also don't like sugar. The Daily Juice uses none of these things (though you can add yogurt to most smoothies for 50 cents. What a bargain!). First, I do have to say that parking sucks and I have no idea how anyone drives to this location on the weekends. Very tasty and fresh, especially if you've got that urge to eat something brightly colored and of fruit/vegetable origin. They do all of the juicing in a back room, which makes me visualize the wood-chipper scene from Fargo (you know what I'm talking about), but other than that, I have no issues. The Waldorf is especially tasty, as is the ginger-carrot. The add-ins are also a plus, especially cayenne pepper! Taking your juice to a taco stand is totally acceptable, as is taking it to the park, or whatever. Parking can be a little hairy on Barton Springs, but most of the time there is a space. read more

One of the best things about living in South Austin is the accessibility to some of the icons of Austin: Zilker, Flipnotics, SoCo, and the Daily Juice. Get on your bike and ride over for a 15% discount (since there is no parking). This place has tasty, refreshing, and natural drinks. If you haven't had the Banana Nut with Chocolate Whey Protein, try it soon. The staff seems to really care about their customers and their products. The only thing I'd ask for is a slightly bigger choice of snacks. They have some interesting, quirky raw foods and snacks, but not enough of a selection to please someone looking for a big, chewy protein bar to help them with the bike ride home. read more

As far as I know, this place is the Austin mecca of healthy beverages - they have juice, smoothies, froths, and even cleanses. (So, if your friend decides to back out on a dinner date due because of his/her cayenne pepper lemonade diet - no excuses!) They've got add-in standards such as bee pollen and spirulina, but also things like hemp oil, raw maca, and himalayan crystal salt - things you've never heard of. I'd always wanted to go there because I thought it would be fun to sit on the roof. When we asked if this was possible, they said it's not really meant as a sitting area, but that we could go ahead and do so. Coming back from the pool, I decide to give it a try. Walking up, there is a nice, shady outside seating area. The inside is small. The selection of juices/smoothies is intimidating in its extent, literally dozens of choices, combinations you will never see at a Jamba Juice or any other big chain. Was at Juiceland twice last week. The first of two experiences (Wednesday) was so horrible I swore I would never go back (was dehydrated after a bike ride on the Greenbelt on Saturday and it is hard to pass up when you're headed down Barton Springs...) On the first visit last week (Wednesday) I left a friend waiting in the truck after a ride on the Greenbelt. We were both exhausted and he needed to get home. If there would have been more than 3 people in line I would have just left because of how slow their service is. There was only one person in line so I decided to go for it. 25 minutes later................ Unruly. No excuse. On Saturday, I text in my order as we were loading up the bikes onto the truck. I got an automated response which made me nervous. When I got there the cashier was aware of the text order and went and checked and said they were making my order next. It still wasn't quick service but at least I now know the text-to-order service speeds things up a bit. If only someone would open up a competitor in the area.... read more

What the deuce? I am obsessed obsessed OBSESSED with Juiceland, so its not reasonable that I don't have a review. I love the juices and the people. I have some thoughts: (oh, rehly) 1. Tikal: minty, limey, delicious green smoothie. If you like mojitos, you'll like this. This is my favorite drink. 2. Orange Kush: weird, orangey, delicious. Tastes a little....weedy. 3. Unicorn Blood: this is the stuff. Beets and watermelon are now friends and that is awesome. 4. Medicine Man: Oh jah. This is the stuff. This spicy little gazpacho will make you feel great, so try it. I could go on, but that's a good starting point. Every smoothie here is a little weird and a lot of yummy. Having been a tried and true patron of this wonderful juicer, they have always made my day, especially when it's not been a great one. Go here, and one step in the door and I'm happy. The vibe, the people, the juice, the food. It's all great and ready to bring you good cheer. So, here's the rules for bulk juice cleanse orders as I've had the frustrating experience of finding out, the hard way: - You MUST order online. The cut off is 3pm. The website is a bit confusing, so highly recommend you check it out beforehand, otherwise you'll be frantically clicking every button trying to get your order placed. ( I can't comment as to whether or not it's ok to order in store. I've had my own experiences with this, and found online is just the best way to go, and the way they prefer. You might experience headache otherwise.) - You order 4 quarts of juice. They can all be the same or each different. That's fine, but if you build your own, not all the juice cleanses are listed. So, you have to pick one, then in the notes of your order, state the correction IE: "In place of the 4 quart of Apex Twins, I want Liver Cleanse". - If you realize you cannot make it to pick up your juice on the day you specified in your online order, you MUST call. They will throw it out otherwise. While this isn't always the case in our experience, it does happen and they state that they have no space to store bulk juice in their fridge. Totally ok with this, just wish it had been clearly stated in more than just our invoice. (which I didn't receive when being told this, it was only later when it was resent that I saw this rule). I've been told by Leilani that the bulk juice orders are new and they are working out the kinks. I wont quit ordering my juices, but getting to a point of feeling like I've got a grasp on the situation, has been trying. I hope that this review helps others have a more positive experience, with the right expectations. As I told the girl when I went to pick up my most recent order: No relationship worth having, that doenst have it's ups and downs. I wont quit you JL, just keep trying to make it better. I can't visit often due to the cost, but I think their prices are fair considering what you get. Besides all the fresh organic veggies, they have every fancy, healthy, yummy add-ons you can dream-up. Daily Juice is a huge step-up from Jamba's frozen fruit and powders. I had a Thai something, and I tweaked the recipe a bit. They totally nailed it! Smooth and yummy. Just ordered from Juiceland on Barton springs for my first time ever. Was excited to try the acai bowls, and ordered 2 for online pickup. Wow, what a huge disappointment. While I dont claim to be an açaí bowl aficionado, I have had a couple from other places and enjoyed them. I LOVE this place! I went this morning and got the "El Paraiso" smoothie. It is heavenly. I have had my fair share of green smoothies, but this one tops them all. The new place is cute and has a warm atmosphere. I think they need to do a little landscaping outside or at least put some potted plants around though to make it seem more inviting. It used to be an old car shop, so its not the most attractive building, but what they did with the inside is fantastic. I am a big raw food enthusiast, so I was very excited to hear that they will be serving raw vegan meals for dinner. I have only tried their raw lasagna, but it was pretty dang good. I've tried a few juice bars in my days. None were memorable, which is why I can't remember them. I remember my Mom trying to attempt to make juices. She would basically mix whatever she could and it would end up with me crapping my pants, I was terrified. Since then, I've always given juice bars the stink-eye. But I read the reviews for Daily Juice and I decided I needed to nut up or shut up. Besides, Kiddo was thirsty and being a health-conscious Mom, I wanted to give him something healthy but not out-of-this-world. When we drove up Daily Juice, I wish I had arrived by bicycle. Then again, I wish we had gone everywhere in Austin via bicycle. Austin has that effect on you, it seems. Moving along. It was small. Homely. I liked it! I don't know how they manage to fit so many people in there. It's impressive. They're quick (as they try to avoid the pile up), but their haste doesn't ruin their quality and that's good! I ordered El Paraiso, mango, pineapple, spirulina, with other yummy goodness. I remember a yummy sweetness that I wanted to pass along to my son. He really enjoyed it. I go here regularly, meaning three times a week or more. So i figured after all my patronage to Daily Juice (now Juiceland) I should write a review, because I have never had anything less than a stellar experience here. The nutrients you can consume at Juiceland trumps just about every other food service establishment in the Austin metropolitan area. Chuys, Salt Lick, Tex -Mex? Forget it, this place is truly an Austin icon- one that doesn't make your waist bulge or put you into an enchilada coma. Everything here is delicious, healthy, and well worth the time it takes to produce. You don't need to be on a crazy cleanse or adhere to some alternative lifestyle to get a smoothie here, you just need to love tasty food. The people working here should be proof enough of what a healthy diet can do- their skin is glowing, their hair shines, they all look radiant. Every Juiceland employee is extremely polite as well. But even if all their employees were intolerable, I would still find myself frequenting Juiceland for a fresh pressed juice- the produce is just that good. I discovered this restaurant/ drink house a while back and I have had their juice so I can definitely write a review about it. The juice is made from all different things. It's good for young people but please don't bring any older people here because the menu can be difficult to understand. Some of the ingredients cannot be purchased except on the internet (hey its 2010 people;) As you know I NEVER give five stars to ANY restaurant so the three is pretty good. A lot has been written about this place and I am certainly grateful it's walking distance to my house, but I gotta knock off a star based on a few factors. First, there is entirely too much crap sold in this little shop. I get the feeling that any product that has 'natural', 'holistic' or 'organic' on the label is sold here. I'm waiting to see actual 'snake oil' on the shelf one day. Secondly, the place is kinda pricey. I mean, sure go ahead and put the word 'organic' in front of every ingredient on the menu, but that doesn't justify $7+ for a medium juice. I can't imagine rent is that high on a 10X20 building. And I don't want to start making Whole Foods comparisons, but if they are considered expensive, I'm not sure what to make of Daily Juice prices.
