Every time I eat here, I feel like I am doing something good for my body. Everything is fresh, delicious, nutritious. My favorite is the "Waldorf Our Way" salad... tons of greens, assorted veggies, nuts, chicken (real chicken, not that nasty processed stuff), blue cheese, apples. Of course you can get smoothies and juices too, loaded with flax oil or protein or wheat grass. They've got all the goods. The prices are fantastic too... where can you eat lunch in the downtown area for less than 7 bucks? If you're having trouble finding it, look for the massage bar at the bottom of the escalators and head down that hallway by the Citywide Concierge center towards Gold's Gym. I was excited to eat here, but I should've been more skeptical when my manager (who lives in Seattle, where there is no sweetgreen) described this as "the closest thing to sweetgreen." As a huge sweetgreen fan, I got my hopes up a little too high. The menu here is very.... strange. My team ordered their bowls for lunch the other day and proceeded to experience a weird hodgepodge of flavors and textures. The bowl I got (foraged mushroom) was quite misleading, because the menu described "local mushrooms + zucchini + roasted sweet potato + cauliflower in a warm coconut cream herb stew," so not reading too carefully, I thought it sounded like a great mix of veggies. What it actually was, though, was all those veggies blended into a gray stew, that was then poured over raw spinach leaves, and then placed over quinoa and brown rice. Sure, it's all very healthy, but it was incredibly incohesive and weird. I did order their Skin Beet Beautiful juice, however, which was fantastic. Super spicy because of the ginger! Overall tasted very fresh and healthy. I don't think I'd come back here for the food, but definitely for the juice. read more

I could not rave about this place more if I tried. I had an emergency surgery today, knowing I could not eat any solids, and my immune system being weak, I started looking for juicing options. I found juicy cafe by chance, and contacted them on their website past midnight, i live in Edmonds, outside of their delivery area. Abigail responded incredibly early in the Morning, and immediately put my situation first and said they'd be able to 1) prioritize, and 2) deliver my way, putting me in touch with Anna. I had been in the hospital all morning and could not talk on the phone, but Anna, was super gracious, offering me the best solution, answering questions, and taking my order online. Not only that, she personally delivered this order to my door, including a get well note and additional nutrients to help me heal. When I think of how rare this is, especially in the largely transactional business environment we are in today, this effort, service, going the extra mile, i saw today, are nothing short of exemplary. Anna, and Abigail went out of their way to help a complete stranger in a lot of pain. Not asking for anything in return, Nothing. I visited the Juicy Cafe while attending a conference at the Washington State Convention Center. I was tired of the few other options available, and had heard good things about this cafe. After perusing the menu, I opted for the Italian Pesto Bowl. I was really excited, and my excitement grew over the pretty lengthy period of time that I had to wait for it. I had seen the place busier the day before, so I don't know what was going on on this particular day, but it was a bit too long for a little bowl of food. The pesto bowl was pretty bland. I like healthy food and pride myself on making healthy but flavorful meals. This one was the type of meal that turns some people off of healthy food! I was pretty disappointed. It did get better toward the end when there was a bit more of the pesto sauce, but only barely. "Meh" definitely describes how I felt about this place. read more

Well... after going on a mad search for this place (it's in some huge convention center type building) we stood in line and were quickly asked what we wanted... This being our first time here and needing to read the vegan options, I felt rushed and just chose something. It was pricey and the food was... weird. I expected something entirely different and couldn't eat much of it due to soggy mushiness. It is definitely my least favorite place when it comes to vegan friendly restaurants. There are some places that just make you smile when you go them because they have exactly what you wanted and had been looking for. I've been searching for an açaí bowl place to rival the one I ordered from every Sunday morning in NYC. This place is it! Their large açaí bowl with oat milk is a 10/10. Their granola is homemade, you can just taste it. The açaí isn't runny, which is a big no no in my book because it is so easy to feel like you're slurping down some chunky purple gazpacho bleh. Friendly people, amazing concoctions. They are located in The Washington State Convention Center, which is just a throw from the building where I work. The first time I visited, I had the Green Monster. Oh wow, it was so yummy - the mix of veggies, fruit and almonds were heavenly. It felt good to drink something so yummy and know it's good for me. I was so excited to go back and try it again! It was even better the second time around. I also was introduced to the Fast Eddy, which is even sweeter and perhaps more yummy. Great juice. Not super expensive either compared to a lot of other juice places I've been to. I paid like $8 (might have been less, I'm not sure but I also am not a big "fan" of receipts) for a giant green smoothie with kale and other green stuff but also some stuff that makes it taste good and not like I'm just slurping down a salad with no dressing. I also really like coming here cuz it's in the Convention Center which is a really nice space. Lotsa natural light and hella plants. I think place is so-so. I've gotten smoothies (Green Monster and Chai-licious) here and while they've been good they've also always been gritty. There's this place in Paris called Bob's Cafe. I was there working for the fashion company Marc Jacobs and on a quest to eat all the fois gras and amazing cheeses and wines and breads...basically everything that is poison for my digestive system. Bob's is this amazing vegan place near the Muse Pompidou run by British and American expats. Most of the dishes had kale, and they had really great juices and the staff was friendly and the whole place just beamed with health. After a few days of eating there every day, I corrected some of the wrongs that my fois gras rampage had caused me and was feeling like myself again. Finding Juicy Cafe felt a lot like finding Bob's. It's in a screwball location in a hard to find spot in the convention center, which kinda tells you its got to be good if it can survive there. It absolutely BEAMS with health...no frills or show, just real and super honest ingredients being whipped into amazing and healthy meals (most with kale...yay kale!) by super friendly and honest folks. When I'm working within walking distance of Juicy, this will forever be my go-to for lunch. Really really good. Weird name, and a terrible location, but the amazing staff and amazing food more than make up for the unfortunate name and location. This place has great food and great potential. But there are still some kinks for them to work out: 1) They constantly get my order wrong. Today I ordered a Banh Mi Bowl. Nowhere on their menu does it say there's rice in it. Still, there was rice in my bowl. In the past I've asked for extras (and paid for them) like avocado mash, and not received them. I've even written down what I want on a piece of paper and handed it to them, only to have items left out still. This can get frustrating. 2) Their pricing is confusing. Sometimes "Build a bowl" is an all-inclusive single price. Sometimes they charge you for everything beyond the base. I don't want to argue, so sometimes I just go somewhere else to eat. Cannot say enough great things about this place. I work in the convention center and have a gluten allergy so I pretty much eat here every day if I can. I've really come to love their soup bowls and the ancient grains instead of rice!! The rainbow Cobb is my super new favorite. Everything is so yummy and healthy and affordable. Extremely grateful to have this so close all the time when I'm working. I recently heard there are four locations and that the owner has expanded! Okay, I GET IT! There's a serious line here, I mean like waiting for a sold out concert line. And when I get to the end of the line and get my stuff, I... GET IT. If I worked closer or they opened more locations where I could park and get to it easily, I'd be a regular. Big time. I had a ginger lemon smoothie I can't seem to find on the menu to tell you about. I also had just some chicken and rice (no veggies because I eat like a 5 year old) and a wheatgrass shot. The smoothie was OUT OF CONTROL DELICIOUS. The rice and chicken were bangin' with that peanut sauce. The wheatgrass wasn't as sweet as I'm used to so for me, it was a bit hard to finish the double shot. Ok, I have a HUGE crush on Juice It. Went here just over 2 weeks ago and I can't stop thinking or talking about it. I see strangers on the street and say, "Have you been to Juice It? If not, go now! Run there and do not pass go!" You can find this amazing gem in the first floor of the Seattle Convention and Visitor Center. Order at the counter, then eat in the lobby outside of Juice It or go a few floors up where there is a better view in the Convention Center. They have a number of brown rice bowls with fresh cooked and/or raw veggies that can be vegetarian or served with meat or fish. My bowl also had a light cucumber dressing sauce and almonds. I ate every single piece. I left nothing behind. So fresh, so healthy, and so good! Again, I can't stop thinking or talking about this place. This is a must see in downtown Seattle! Service: Kudos are nearly deserved for taking orders from the waiting line but then why do they fulfill the orders in a somewhat arbitrary queue? It's like an efficiency lottery, some days you'll be first out, some days you'll be stuck for 30 minutes waiting for them to put 4 ingredients in a blender and hit a button. Ambiance: While you wait for an indeterminate period in juicy limbo, take time to reflect on dulcet tones of the caterwauling boss lady as she implores her staff to miraculous manifest order from chaos with choice phrases like "long line! long line!" and "dave? dave? dave? dave, take care of the [berries|dishes|spill]". Oh and then glance around you at the sad/dated features of the building you find yourself in... it's a food court... in the convention center... be-badged convention zombies walking around in their frumpy suits fresh off a plane from Sheboygan... now look up- Why the heck is the food court ringed by tacky LED scroll signs vomiting slogans from your junior highschool journal... you know, back when you discovered Henry Rollins... "Class is a plastic concept", "Sloppy thinking gets worse with time", "You chains are in your mind"... ugh. Food: Juice. Rice Bowls. Yawn. While I was waiting I noticed a cooler with sodas and water. Admiring the options I noticed Smart Water and Diet Pepsi and thought, "How awesome. Here you're not tempted to splurge on something that's really bad for you." If you intend to come here for a good, healthy meal you're getting it. Even the chips and snacks are of a healthier nature and there are fresh sandwiches and pieces of fruit to by too. I really appreciated that! So I get to order my drink and looking at the menu I asked for a suggestion. There's a drink with strawberries, beets, apples and a few other ingredients... Those youthful days of waitressing and running around all day like a mad-woman are over. I gladly embrace my current sit-on-my-butt all day profession, but my hips, unfortunately, do not lie. They tell a sad truth that involves tales of buttery pastries at morning meetings, coffee with sugar and cream and weekend brunches chock full of Carbs n' Bacon. So it's with a happy heart I give Juice It five stars. What this place lacks in atmosphere, it makes up for in taste, attitude and healthfulness. The brown rice bowls with tofu and fresh, raw veggies are downright delicious despite how similar to rabbit food you would expect them to be. And the fresh juices and smoothies are made from real food, not powders or mixes like most other "juice" places downtown. Drinking these fresh concoctions, I can actually feel all the cells in my body rejoicing. It's enough to make me want to go on an all-out health kick. It is a little ironic that I work in a hospital and it is hard to find something healthy for lunch. The cafeteria salad bar gets really old, and seeing people make a salad of tiny shrimp, cheddar cheese, and blue chese dressing can really put me off my lunch. Anyways, I'm happy that there is a place close by that truly seems have fresh and moderately healthy food. I have only been once, but the buddha bowl and tomato soup were delicious. They have a mix of veggies that they put on all the rice bowls with cucumber, brocolli, spinach, and cabbage. The bowls have different dressings and extras and you can add protein of your choice. I think that they could use to improve their ordering "system" (are yellow post-it notes a system?) They seemed to forget and mix-up quite a few orders, and I ended up with tomato soup, rather than bulgur. read more

I popped over here for a quick lunch the other day and there was no line, yay! The space is teeny-tiny, so it doesn't take much for a crowd to form and if there's one thing I don't tolerate well, it's crowds. They have a big menu posted so you can read it without being in others' way, and a small case of sandwiches, salads, etc. that are packed and ready to go. I went with the chicken, brown rice, and veggies in a pesto sauce and it was both tasty and healthy! The pesto had a strong flavor, which enhanced rather than overwhelmed, and what's not to like about feeling virtuous about your 'fast food' lunch? Some of the other sauces sounded really good, so I'll have to come back and check them out. They sell bottled water and other beverages, but I really appreciate that they also have a pitcher of free water (flavored with cucumbers) as well. The only two negatives are that the price is a bit high, though not unreasonable, and that the chicken curry sandwich I had later was not good at all. I don't know if it was too much curry powder or too much of some other spice, but I only managed about three bites before throwing it away. So I would recommend staying with the freshly-prepared rice bowls and skipping the pre-made stuff. read more

The Spicy Ginger Peanut bowl was filling and chock full of healthy vegetables, brown rice, peanut sauce and tofu. Their other bowls offer the same base veggies with various proteins, grains and tasty sauces. They also offer some great juice cleanses, power balls (basically a health packed cookie), grab 'n go items as well as breakfast! Misleading Yelp description. Juicy cafe is not vegan, they're menu is heavy on whey protein, honey, and chicken salad things. I once asked if a free juice sample that looked what I wanted to order was vegan, a woman who worked their said yes so I drank it, but it was a smoothie with all of 5 ingredients in it, one of them being whey protein, and I'm allergic to milk. On top of that I was already sick. Oops? They have oat or peanut butter "balls", raw, instead of cookies. They taste like you would expect. The smoothies come in either 24 oz or 16 oz. This is because, I've heard, you have to put in a lot of fruit. And for this, I have a revolutionary patented technology I'd like to sell them at a nominal fee: cut it up beforehand, use less. Though the cafe itself is chaotic, the convention center in which you will enjoy or at least partially consume your giantic beverage is calming, open, and full of plants. Above the store, which is hidden in the far NE corner on the 2nd floor, is a post modern conglomeration of scrolling electronic marquees spouting new age philosophy and save the children quipisms. It's a bit out of place, because all the staff seemed pretty conventional to me, but none the less appreciated. Discard the menu(s) that decorate the store. Apparently, I've been told they're wrong. But the prices are right and actually very decent. Let me say this once to all those who think a smoothie everyday is a good idea: Fruit smoothies are a great way to pack in the sugar and calories if there ever was one. It's a shame that the only reason I would go there is because I have no other options for healthy trendy food within 2 mile radius. Their food is overpriced and not tasty. To add on to this, I noticed that their food price listed on the menu is incorrect. I was charged 13 dollars for an acai bowl when in the menu it says that its 12 dollars. Not only that, the acai bowl was pasty. it had a weird texture and it did not taste like acai bowls or smoothie bowls I had elsewhere. I've read somewhere in the review that jamba juice's bowl tasted better and I would have to second that. If it was just the mediocre food it would've had a 3 star, but what brings it down to 1 is really the attitude of some of the employees working there. There is greeting or a smile, just an expressionless: "what can I get you." I get the vibe that they hate their job. read more
