Warm Thai Ginger Peanut Bowl ($13.55) and Maui Wowie Smoothie.

A healthy and vegan-friendly take-out spot in the second floor of the Seattle Convention Center Arch building. The menu changes regularly and primarily consists of both savory and sweet bowls, smoothies, and juices. Plenty of tables are out front. Visited this spot everyday during a weekend-long convention as it was quite convenient and the food was tasty. Bowls are customizable in choice of protein (including tofu) and base (such as coconut rice, sweet potato, tossed salad, or half-and-half between two) and cost around $13. My favorite was the warm Thai Ginger Peanut Bowl: fresh cilantro + coconut flakes + roasted peanuts + roasted sweet potato + pickled onions + radish + pickled ginger + red pepper. Topped with sweet chili peanut sauce. Others bowls I tried in order of most liked to least: - Taco Bowl - Salmon Lemon Dill Bowl - Meatball Marinara Bowl - Poke Bowl - Gyro Bowl As for the two smoothies that I tried, I liked the Maui Wowie Smoothie more as it incorporated banana so had less of a watery consistency. - Maui Wowie Smoothie: mango, orange, banana, pineapple - Sweet Tart Smoothie: orange, pineapple, strawberry, vanilla

First time at a Juicy Cafe after hearing a friend rave about it, left me a but disappointed. The salad ingredients were surprisingly sparse; since grapefruit was listed as a main flavor was I surprised to find just one small piece. It also was not a very hearty salad for the price. Being this one is in the convention center, prior to our arriving they were feeding a huge team of event-attendees premade salads, which could have explained the scarcity of ingredients in my salad. Also, while I wouldn't say the ingredients were stale, they so weren't very fresh but seemed to be chopped up much earlier in the day. Yeah, I'm a bit picky when the meal is a salad and things just dont seem fresh cut....maybe you wouldn't be. The drink was a smoothie off matcha, almonds and a spritz of rosewater. That was excellent and I'd get again without hesitation if in the area. While inside the convention center, the ambience is outdoorsy, being on the very edge at entrance into Freeway Park. The atrium is filled with real tropical plants and a lot of glass windows with striking views of the some buildings. I'd likely try a different salad next time, but only if in area...not really a place to go out of your way for.

We came in around 1:45pmish and it wasn't crowded. They had an amazing selection of pastries, though I didn't try any. I got their Caramelized Banana Latte to satisfy my sweet tooth, and it wasn't too banana-flavored nor too sweet; the black sesame in it balanced it nicely. I also got the Urban Pesto, which was SO yum. I was little skeptical of the focaccia - sometimes I find it to be too puffy, and thus hard to eat the sandwich - but this had a lovely panini press on it that made it easy to eat. The in-house herby cheese in the sandwich made each bite just that much more delicious. The staff was also super nice and accommodating to my parents' requests and questions. Can't wait to come back to try their other food and bev options!

Tempting pastry case with savory and sweet choices, the usual bevs, as well as, cocktails. Vibrant place to visit solo or meetups with others. The 16oz iced mokka (mocha) I had was well crafted. Both counter folks were personable and welcoming. I was able to sit at a two top and remain cool during my brief visit on that hot Tuesday early afternoon. Key Points: - Iconic khachapuri "bread boats"…read more- minor drawback: limited coffee customization options and only forks available The Fam and I stopped by Skalka for some breakfast/brunch before perusing the rest of Seattle during my birthday week. I saw it on a few YouTube food influencer videos and was really impressed by what I saw. The their staple is their Georgian khachapuri. They're the iconic bread "boats" filled with cheese, butter, egg, and whatever comes along the variety you ordered. TBH, I actually thought they looked like little volcanoes, which is something I figured The Little One would enjoy. What we ordered: - Stroganoff: one of the popular items listed on the yelp page. The beef was rich, succulent and comforting, with a creamy, savory filling. The pickles added a bit of bright, tangy contrast to balance the richness. - Adjaruli, the classic version with cheese, butter, and egg. To me, this seemed like the plainest version, but I figured The little One would be more likely eat this because she hates anything that resembles a sauce or toppings. Both dishes were fantastic. The bread boat sort of reminded me of a pizza crust: crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, and perfect for tearing off and dipping into the cheesy center. The Little one did especially like the crust since she's a big pizza-crust fan. Surprisingly, getting her to eat the cheese and egg was tougher, as she usually likes those. I guess that's just being a kid? Inconsistent fluctuations of opinions and likings? The Mrs. and I happily finished everything she left behind. The restaurant itself is a small, casual spot with self-service kiosks for ordering and open seating. Nothing fancy, but it's efficient. We also appreciated that they had high chairs available, making it easy to visit with a child. We did see other families with kids there too. My only gripes: - once you've submitted your kiosk order, making changes isn't really possible. The staff is so busy going in and out of the kitchen, that you really don't have any opportunity to flag them down. We actually wanted to make one minor change to our order, but by the time I managed to talk to someone about it, she informed me that the order was already being made. - If you order coffee, you need to decide on cream, half-and-half, and sugar ahead of time, seemingly preset amounts. It's entirely prepared in the kitchen, not self serve, and you can't exactly customize to your liking. - Only forks were available. No spoons, no knives. Knives would have been helpful for cutting through the thicker bread crust. Those are very minor complaints, though. The food was excellent, the concept is unique, and the meal was memorable. Won't dock any points off there.

It's bright, yellow and welcoming, and that same playful energy carries through the space and menu. We did some very important mango and matcha research, and the mango series was easily the standout for me. If I'm recommending one drink, it's the mango yuzu green tea with lychee bits. Bright, refreshing, made with real lychee and dangerously drinkable. I would come back for that alone. The matcha itself was okay, but in a city with so many really good matcha options, it didn't stand out quite as much for me. Some of the flavor profiles could use a little more R&D to really bring them together, but the concepts are creative and there's plenty on the menu I'd come back to explore. What made our visit especially memorable was getting to spend some time with the owner, James, who walked us through the story and vision behind Junbi Seattle. You can tell there's genuine thought and enthusiasm behind what they're building, and the hospitality throughout our visit reflected that. The mango series? That's where they got me.
