On a whim, I dropped by on my way home and ordered the fried calamari (about $7). I waited about 5 minutes. It was overcooked where the breading was a dark, dark brown instead of a golden brown so it resulted in it being chewy. Even though I'm not a fan of red sauces, the marinara sauce it accompanied was pretty good. In addition to the pizza, there are also gyro meals. We have ordered pizza from here several times, and this seems to be our "go to" pizza place in the Alexandria area. The food is good, and we would choose this place over several others in the area which we have tried and reviewed. This is similar to the pizza we are used to eating when we lived in Philadelphia. The food is a 5 for the cost! The service is a 3 at best but they always deliver in time, they keep your phone number in the delivery database and they are always friendly and happy to have your business. I have never been in the shop only delivery but the food keeps me coming back. If they could get the service up a bit on the phone it would be 4.5 if we could give that:) read more

I've never used their delivery service because I live so close by, but if you pick it up, you can't beat their speed. I have had at least 20 pizzas here, and not once has it taken longer than 10-15 min. Best of all is the price though. Large pizza can feed 2 for just $9.50 after tax. As for taste, I think it is better than most of the big pizza chains, but I can see how others may not think so. read more

Got a pie here while staying nearby on a business trip. Not great pizza, but it did the job and was cheap as well. $9.00 for a pepperoni pie. Also, interesting pizza cheese they use - a LOT of parmesan in there. That's a good thing, people. read more

The first time I ordered I thought everything was great. After a few more times I became less and less impressed. The pasta was so salty I spit it out. The pizza is good but after reading all the other reviews about the pizza, I expected a lot better. Plus for some reason the prices on the menu never match what they say when you order delivery. Pretty sure they jack up the price if they deliver on top of the delivery charge. They never bring me a receipt so I can't be 100% on that. Juliano's is some of the best pizza in the area. Their margarita with chicken is fantastic and I love it every time. We also typically order a pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom pizza, and my boyfriend enjoys the Hawaiian. I am a bit of a chicken wing snob and I really like their different take on the wings. Not overly sauced, with a delicious sweet bbq or a mildly spicy hot sauce. The pastas are outstanding and might be my favorite thing on the menu. I've tried the fettucini, and chicken and veal parms. Very disappointed as I am (or used to be) a regular customer and I am guess I am just kind of sick of poor quality service. The food is good and sometimes delicious, and often times they beat the recommended 45 minute wait. That said, their phone manners are terrible and their delivery team is inconsistent -- i.e. sometimes on time, sometimes late, and sometimes missing part of the order. Have been on hold many times, for many minutes, only to find out that I missed the delivery cut off by 2 minutes. When they make a mistake -- i.e., forget an item that has been ordered or mix up the order, they don't apologize, and if they do, they don't take action to make sure the customer is happy. This is such a missed opportunity because they have a lot of the "ingredients" to be a solid Alexandria institution but they miss the mark because of lack of good customer service. read more

Jim had the Stromboli with all of the meats. It was very tasty, but not the best of show. The fresh baked bread was soft, the sausage was flavorful, and the sauce was zesty. A little pricey for lunch, but worth it. We'll go back if we're in the neighborhood, but not go out of our way. read more

They have a great gyro and gyro salad. Steak and cheese is good but the service is friendly and quick. I live nearby and this is my choice foe delivery and carry out. read more

Ordered the pizza Margarita with chicken and a custom stromboli over the phone (for delivery) and they threw in the option of free breadsticks or free small pizza. The order arrived in about twenty minutes, everything was hot and fresh. Pizza crust had just the right amount of chewy strength to hold the toppings together without being too thick and the dough was one of the tastiest I've had outside of NYC. Sauce was great, cheese fresh, and basil green and unwilted. The stromboli was a good size, filled with ham, cheese and mushrooms with an excellent red sauce for dipping. The bread sticks were also great, and though we didn't need them (the pizza and stromboli were more than enough to feed a family of four with leftovers for lunch the next day) - we devoured the breadsticks. Excellent texture, spices and the accompanying sauce was delicious. I'm glad we ordered from this establishment, and as a result we've found our new go to place for our weekly pizza deliveries. My boyfriend and I love to get pizza from here. They are really nice on the phone, always follow the instructions I give them for delivery (have the delivery guy call when he's close so I can meet him at my apt. building door), and they always deliver within the quoted time. We usually get the standard...pepperoni and sausage and it's always delicious. I got the chicken parm a few weeks ago and it was just so-so...think I'll stick to the pizza. This is our usual place for pizza pick-up -- twice a month at least. We always order a large pizza half pepperoni/half ham and a side of ranch dressing. Our order is consistently hot, fresh and yummy! They are generous with their toppings and pile on the cheese. The crust is thin-ish and although it is not New York pizza, it isn't cracker thin either. It's just good! The sauce has lots of flavor but not overpowering. They manage a good ratio of sauce to pizza. On occasion we order the wings and they are okay. I loved the lasagna and would order it more often but the kids insist on pizza, pizza, pizza! read more

I generally really like the food & service. The Calzones, salads, and pizzas are very good. The salads all come with olives so I request without olives because I'm allergic. There have been a few times when they put olives on the salad and it's a hassle to return it & get a replacement. I'm always sure to say no olives due to an allergy so they understand it's not something I can just pick off. All in all they're a go-to place for an inexpensive but tasty dinner.
