Juliet pays homage to the movie theater experience, with a walk up box office, concession stand with nostalgic candy for purchase as you check in, and complimentary popcorn (butter or jalapeño) as you wait to be seated and place your order. I was apart of a party of 15. Reservations were made in advance for 10 and we were promptly seated, luckily the other 5 guests were able to be seated at a near by table within earshot of the larger group setting as not to feel excluded from the festivities. (Side note, there's a $50 no show fee for guests who do not show up for larger parties. Additionally parking is valet only, either $10 or $20 for VIP (No wait).) A new speakeasy( well sort of) in the Houston area. The latest of flashy restaurants/bars opening to fulfill our desire to show off on social media. The front of the restaurant is disguised as a classic cinema. Though I wouldn't call it a true speakeasy as it has an obvious valet in front(it costs 20) When you enter it still keeps up with the cinema theme with a snack bar and the smell of popcorn in the air. Didn't really see if you could buy candy or not. Once you go past the next set of door the environment changes to that of a nice restaurant. Now my lady and I ordered some steak and some ribs along with their truffle fries. I will say their main course dishes aren't that large so I do recommend getting an appetizer. Their drinks are pretty good. A lot of them are more flashy than anything so I didn't really have any favorites from there. Service overall was pretty good and we got tended to. My main complaint though was the cost. For the amount you pay for you can go to better restaurants or bars for better food or drink. Went to Juliet the day before Valentine's Day. They have valet parking for $20 in the front, and $10 in the back... in a lot that is generally free during the day. My bf got a medium well steak, and it was VERY pink. We had to cook it a little longer when we got home. I got lamb chops, and we shared loaded potatoes and brussel sprouts. All were delicious! Finally made it to the flowery wall at Juliet! This is another one that's been on the list for a while. So where do we start? Parking you have 2 valet options. If you want it parked in the back, 10$. If you want it parked in the front, 20$..but either way they valet it. I mean some people may care..just not us...lol. We loved the theater vibe when you first walk in. We were greeted upon entry and immediately lead to our table. Our waiter was Paul and he was awesome. You can tell he loves his job. He educated us on this being the first black owned fine dining speak easy in Houston. He explained how the menu works and detailed out almost everything on the menu. So to the food. You are given a little bowl of complimentary spicy popcorn which is good. For starters we had the pork belly which was awesome and calamari which was good, but the Mr said he likes it fried a little harder. The porkchop was juicy! I had crabcakes for my entree because I was full on Appetizers. They were also good. The Brussels were nice and sweet and crunchy. The Macaroni was pretty good too but could have left out the planko. Everything is a good portion size. Now they did fail me on the side car with the cinnamon rim and foamy top with gold flakes...it wasn't the business!! I just want a normal sidecar. Ok so here is my take on this absolutely GORGEOUS restaurant. I loved the flower wall OMGEEE totally amazing. The ambiance is everything and everyone my party and I encountered was extremely accommodating and professional. The food is a bit overpriced in my opinion but it was DELICIOUS. I had the Thai shrimp and the bacon white cheddar Mac n cheese OMGEEEE it was AWESOME. The reason I didn't give five stars is this: for a fine dining establishment I would expect the toilet to flush and there really be no bathroom issues. Also for the prices being charged this restaurant could upgrade their take out containers but those are the only issues I see that need to be addressed otherwise we had an AMAZING time and our waitress was beyond AMAZING read more

What a neat speakeasy! My friend had a birthday gathering here and invited me. Without doing any prior research on this establishment, I had no prior knowledge and didn't know what to expect. I wanted my experience to be a total surprise and fully intended on ordering what was recommended by the wait staff. When I arrived, I thought it was really a movie theater and checked the address on Google to make sure that I arrived at the correct place! I saw the reviews and they reminded me that they are in fact a restaurant. There was a gentleman at the ticket counter who confirmed that I was there under a reservation. He escorted me inside where you can purchase items like popcorn, movie theater candy and the like. I was still bit confused but, went with the flow. It wasn't until he opened the doors where I witnessed a stunning upscale restaurant/bar! Everything from the fine furniture to the design up the bar! I was pleasantly surprised! I asked for the restroom to which he lead me to the most stunning restroom I had ever seen. A custom checkered floor, floor to ceiling mirror, flower wall, communal sink and a Photo Booth area. The actual restroom were male and female separated. How neat! I sat at my table and I ordered their market half pound king crab with their blackened garlic butter sauce and a side of broccolini! I could taste the inmense flavors of the garlic with black peppercorns and Cajun seasonings, the broccolini was flash stir fried in garlic butter! Everything was so delicious. I wasn't sure what the crowd would be like but we decided to give it a try for date night. We had a 7PM reservation and were seated immediately. They sat us at a table in the nice booth area. Mac & Cheese (Truffle): 7/10 Loved the texture and the cheese sauce. Needed a little umph but there are worst mac and cheese out there. I booked an event at Juliet earlier this month with their event coordinator, Reese, who was very persistent with securing my event. I appreciated her quick response time and was impressed (and slightly annoyed) with how much she called me (5x in 1 day) to secure my booking. She told me that I was paying a higher deposit for my large party to secure the Glass Room in a private booking and the price was fair, so I committed. When I got there, the manager (Marge? IDR) had no notice of my booking being a private party and already had a group that had been in there for a few hours. She was very understanding and mentioned that the other party would be wrapping up soon and that I could start my decorating on the patio until they were done. An hour later (15 mins after I should've been in the room for my event), she promised me she would mention the mishap to the other party and try to get them further along since they'd already checked out and were just kind of mingling at the table. The staff in the room, Janesia and another few waiters, were clearly empathetic and attempting to ensure both parties were good despite the mix up caused by Reese. Thirty minutes later, I ask Marge what's happening as my guests are all arrived and we can't fully set up like we wanted since we needed to readjust one of the tables the other party was using. She was very rude, refused to give me the number to the Director of Operations, and hostile as she spoke to me and my guests. Honestly, I was shocked that this woman was speaking to me so condescendingly when the entire situation was due to the event coordinator promising something she was unable to provide - which I later found out had happened just the weekend prior to another group. (Note: finally got the business card to the Ops Director and he refuses to answer the phone or return a VM. The manager is a direct reflection of this leadership.) Anyway, to wrap up, the manager there is terrible and truly should not be interacting directly with people. The only bright spot in this whole thing was Janesia, our server. She was AMAZING. Top tier service, trying to fix what she didn't cause, and honestly just better than we could've asked. My visit was ruined before it even truly got started due to the manager and event coordinator, but Janesia was able to turn it around. Very grateful to her; that woman deserves the biggest promotion. What a cute atmosphere from the moment you walk in, there is a picture perfect moment around every corner and the 360 camera is so fun. But onto the food... they offer several shareable dishes, I cannot say enough about the crab and avocado salad, it is a MUST if you fancy crab as I do. The shrimp, calamari and wedge salad ( not pictured) were all very tasty and was truly shareable... I can get greedy and don't like to share. My friends and I celebrate my last birthday dinner in Houston on Sunday Nov 13th. I actually found this hot unique restaurants on Instagram, I thought it was an actual movie theater, but when I called to see if they're going to show the Black Panther movie the person I was on the call stated its a restaurant, and their theme is a movie theater. Walking in the restaurant I noticed a valet guy, a sidewalk that wasn't steep, and once into the restaurant you'll see like movie candy concession area where the hostess are. The restaurant Juliet does have a full bar, offer delicious brunch, and private events too. When, the hostess sat my party down the tables are definitely small especially when you have a lot of people at your table. In, the restaurant you'll noticed the movie theme pictures that's hanging on the wall, everyone there mainly the women I noticed dressed up. Our Server brought out jalapeños popcorn for the table, three of us ordered delicious cocktails, and me the birthday gyal ordered a glass of champagne!(not sparkling wine). For, our main entrée we all literally ordered the same thing. Lol. We ordered the fried lobster(3), and for my side was mac cheese. I wasn't a fan of the taste of fried lobster, it was my 1st time having fried lobster, and I might try again. The skillet mac and cheese was so cheesy, hot and fresh. If, you're trying to stay on a budget while at the Juliet restaurant will be hard to do since it's a tab bit pricey, and you're paying for the side separately.
