Tried this new location in garden grove and this was such a cute little shop! The lady working was so sweet and even offered me a sample of matcha soft serve which was delicious! As for the matcha itself I thought it was pretty tasty. Nice natural vanilla flavor, but I do wish the flavor was a bit strong, stronger and more full-bodied considering this store specializes in matcha and also happens to be a Matcha brand. It had a pretty grassy flavor profile which isn't my personal fav but it was still refreshing. read more

Junbi's got quality matcha for sure! I've been seeing this in Rowland heights and Hawaii but never got a chance to try. So happy they opened in the OC and it's safe to say that it's one of my FAV matcha spots. It's not diluted in milk and you can totally taste the matcha. I loved their Madagascar vanilla, guava, and mango matcha! Price was around 7-8$, typical lol. Service is friendly and quick! There's ample seating outside and kid friendly for the little ones to play. The only downside is there's limited parking and it's mostly street parking but it's so WORTH IT! read more

I was surprised to see they recently opened closer to me and decided to stop by to finally give them a try. I came on a weekday so parking was fine but I can see that being a problem on weekends and once more businesses open up around them. Only one side seems to have a small parking area, while the other side seems to be all street parking. I ordered online and my drinks were quickly ready upon arrival. The two employees were very nice and polite. They actually asked how I managed to order online as they had just set the system up 5 minutes before I had placed my order, so I'm glad to see that the system is in place now (they use Toast, I just searched Junbi Garden Grove pickup). I noticed a LOT of their drinks were out of stock online, but thankfully I only wanted the more basic stuff. Strawberry Matcha Latte: 6/10, the drink isn't bad but I do prefer my matchas a bit stronger, and I found the drink to be more milk leaning. The strawberry was not a very strong part of the drink. Black Milk Tea w/ boba: 5/10, this rating is partially my fault as I asked for it to be less sweet and it made the drink kind of flavorless. There was a hint of tea there but it was not very strong. I also found the boba to be bland which didn't help the drink's taste. Overall, a cute location with nice staff. The drinks don't seem like they're for me but I wish them success. read more

There are a few seats inside (no outlets though if you want to use a laptop). There is plenty of additional seating outside. The outer area is designed for fun interaction. Sososo excited to have a Junbi closer to home! I initially tried them at a Yelp Elite event in 626 a long time ago, and would always drive out to that area to get my guava matcha fix. Now that they're less than a mile from my house, I can have Junbi whenever I want! I came for their mock day and soft opening, and both were such refreshing experiences. Their staff and management are very thoughtful, and it's nice to have more AAPI representation in that plaza. I usually order either their hojicha latte or guava/strawberry matcha, but don't think the former is available at this location yet. I'm sure as they ramp up, their menu offerings will expand. There's amazing A/C that's been coming in clutch with the summer heat waves, which is a selling point for WFH girlies and students that need a place to cowork or study. Overall - 8/10 - I visited the shop for their grand opening event happening at this cute location this past Saturday morning from mid-morning till the early afternoon. The space was in a cute cottage near a community garden and a cute backyard hangout area. The owners of this location were also very kind. There were ample parking spaces in the front parking lot in front of the store and in the neighborhood. They had a limited menu for the grand opening. Drinks - The drinks were free, but if purchased, cost around $6.25 to $7.50. They also had a BOGO drink deal during the grand opening too. I ordered a yuzu dragonfruit matcha cold brew with aloe vera. The drink was not your typical matcha cold brew, which has a strong matcha flavor. The matcha flavor was subtle, and the Yuzu and Dragonfruit flavors were a bit stronger. The drink might have tasted a bit better with a splash of milk. I have had drinks at some other Junbi locations before. I believe the drinks at some other locations tasted better, but I honestly ordered mostly matcha lattes, though. - Overall Experience - It was a fun experience, and the drinks were good, but they could have had a stronger matcha flavor. The place was nestled in a cute location with a place that is child-friendly to hang around at any time. It also had a BBQ place nearby that people can also try, and pop-ups are happening during the weekend. Junbi has been one of my go to matcha and boba spots and I am glad they opened up a location in Garden Grove! This spot is located in a more residential area right next to Smoke Queen BBQ. Street parking will be your best and there is a decent amount of it around the area. Inside, they have a nice and modern setup with about 4-5 tables for seating. They have a similar menu to all of their other locations. I opted for the Strawberry Chrysanthemum Tea and it was solid as usual. They are currently in soft opening so keep that in mind and be patient. Overall, you really cannot go wrong with any of their drinks here. All of the staff are very friendly and welling. I love Junbi and their matchas so I'm glad they're opening another location here in Garden Grove. There's limited parking as it's near a residential area but we easily got a parking since it was still early. Came today in the morning for their mock day (saw on Instagram they may soft open soon) that started at 10am so they had a limited menu but they still actually had a good variety of each type of drink (matcha cold brew, matcha latte, classic teas, and even non-caffeinated drinks), toppings (boba, aloe, lychee), and milk options (whole, soy, oat, coconut). I got the yuzu dragonfruit matcha cold brew while my sister got the strawberry matcha. It was also nice that we can adjust sugar and ice level. The girl who took my order was super nice and helpful. I was intrigued by the matcha cold brew since I never realized it was even a thing lol and I thought the cold brew meant the coffee. Both drinks were so yummy, not only that, they were pretty and aesthetically pleasing with the color layers. The yuzu dragonfruit was a good combination, there was a good tartness from the yuzu and slight sweetness from the dragonfruit. The matcha itself was subtly sweet and as a cold brew it was more refreshing (adding milk was an option too to make it richer but ultimately I kept it as it was). It's a good drink for the summer! The strawberry matcha was a classic, it was creamy and high quality. Overall, I would say I'm very impressed by how fast and efficient they are considering they haven't even soft opened! This is my second review/visit and I was lucky enough to catch these in house sweets they make , their spin on a mochi and Dubai chocolate fusion. The mochi shell comes in three flavors: matcha, ube and chocolate and the inside is a decadent pistachio creme with lots of kataifi! I was told everything is made in house, and you can definitely taste the quality. Every bite is heavenly, I could've eaten 10 of these easily! I am sad they will no longer be making them after this month(due to the extensive and arduous process) so RUN and try these before they're gone! I promise you that you will not regret it. The customer service is always stellar and very helpful, not to mention friendly and patient. They are opened daily from 11 AM to 9 PM with parking out front or in the surrounding area. They have an extensive drink menu to select from along with different types of rice balls and several soft serve flavors. We ordered a flight of three rice balls ($14) listed in order of preference: (1) snow crab, (2) mentaiko, and (3) salmon. This is a really cute spot for a date or to catch up with a friend if you have a bit to chill. There is a big beautiful back yard area where kids can play or to snap some cool photos, its very chill to hang out. They have so many boba options to choose from and even more toppings. So much to try and not too sweet. I was disappointed because I ordered a rice ball but their machine broke, so I wasn't able to try it. I was also a little frustrated that it took 25 minutes to receive my ice cream after I ordered it with my drink. My wife and I have been here several times now and each time has been amazing. The quality and consistency of their drinks is always perfect. They use real(!!) matcha. My go to is the Guava Matcha Tea. They also have soft serve. We tried their green tea soft serve with hojicha sprinkle and it's refreshing after a meal. The service is always fast and friendly. Workers are happy to help you navigate their menu. The inside of the space is well lit with natural lighting and there are plenty of tables to do some work inside and outside. There's also a huge space outside with a playground that is good for toddlers and kids. Overall a great spot to go to for a tea/boba and soft serve fix. What a dissapointment. My girlfriend and I drove down from Los Angeles for the snoopy collaboration, we specifically wanted the snoopy keychains and some drinks. We got in line at 10 am, we were probably the 70th guests in line. We finally get in around 12:35 only to be told, " so were sold out of most of the merchandise, all we have is the tote bag, the matcha whisk and white shirts in XL." I stood there so confused cause I couldn't believe they underestimated that there would be so much interest in a snoopy collab. I share my disappointment with the worker (which I know it's not her fault) and she says, "we'll be restocking in 2 weeks" I explain we came from Los Angeles and she just apologizes. We order our drinks and leave, but for us and so many others to wait for 2 hours with no communication on the status of the merchandise is absolutely ridiculous. In line, the people in front of us also talked about their experience at the miffy collaboration and it sounds like a similar experience, that after hours of waiting all they had left were cans of matcha with miffy on it and we're dissapointmed. They really need to stop underestimating their collaboration drops and order MORE then they anticipate. This is ridiculous. read more

We just finished shopping and wanted to pick up bubble tea on our way back home. This was one of the options on the way, and had some tasty-sounding fruit tea flavors (I only drink fruit teas). I especially went for the Yuzu Dragonfruit Jasmine Green Tea, since I've never seen that flavor before. My cousin and I both ordered that, and also the Strawberry Jasmine Tea and Hibiscus Fruit Tea. I was happy to see they finally opened Junbi in Garden Grove. This is now the closest to my home, and also technically on my way home from work. The cottages are super cute to begin with, with a great outdoor area for kids to run around. I feel like Junbi really preceded this trendy matcha phase, so I consider them an OG in that space. They make their own matcha powder that they source from a farm in Japan. I love so many different items from their menu, but recently I got the guava matcha latte and strawberry matcha cold brew. I always find the cold brews to be more refreshing and summery, and the lattes to be more filling, so I'll really change my order depending on the weather. First time I tried Junbi, I ordered through an app for delivery. I was impressed with their takeout bag and how carefully it was packed. The second time and third time I went to their actual store. The place is clean and the staff were nice and helpful. I have tried their Matcha Mango, Matcha Strawberry, Matcha Guava and Matcha Vanilla Madagascar for the drinks and liked all of it. If it's your first time trying a drink I suggest to not lower the sweetness level so you'll get an idea of what the actual taste is. Their ube oreo cookie is always a favorite cookie flavor that I get. For their rolls, the salmon roll is the best for me and the crab one is also okay. read more

Honestly, I thought this was fake news they were building a location here so I gave up until I randomly saw it on the map! Turns out, they've been open for a month. It's a bit of an odd spot and to access Junbi in particular, make sure to head to 8th street and not 9th to the parking lot for the BBQ spot (unless the gate is open on that side, you'd have to go to 8th street). I love their guava matcha latte, but the puree was out (who knew it had to be shipped in!) so mango matcha it is. The puree is fresh and definitely worth the addition to the matcha. There's a nice outdoor area to sit and the interior is very modern. Will definitely visit again with the close proximity! I ordered the strawberry matcha latte but got mostly milk. Where's the strawberry puree?! I didn't mix or drink it when I took the photo. Service was extremely slow. I've been to the Irvine location over 50+ times and their drinks are way better! This costed $7.50 and I'm so disappointed The location is connected to a community garden center with a ton of outdoor seatings. Great for enjoying the SoCal weather! Location is amazing! The space is nice. A few tables and seats inside and a few outside. You can find parking right outside or in the surrounding neighborhood (look for cottage industries parking). It is self order so the ordering process is easy. Would say that the matcha is alright, the guava matcha was pretty refreshing so I do recommend that one, but I tried the regular matcha latte and it was alright. Nothing particularly special especially in this saturated matcha market. The boba is good though, so I will say if I want more of a "boba drink" over matcha, this is still a decent spot. I wouldn't come here looking for a regular matcha latte though. These drinks are quite pricey ($8-10). Stumbled upon this place when we drove here to eat at Smoke Queen BBQ in Cottage Industries. First time and won't be my last! I didn't even know they were a chain but it totally makes sense! Strawberry Matcha latte Matcha was so diluted it doesnt taste like anything and then strawberry puree didnt match well with the matcha. I felt like I was drinking flavored water. Came last week for their soft opening bc i was itching to try their matcha, had the regular matcha latte and hubbs got the vanilla matcha latte. We both liked it. Today is their grand opening but we didn't make it to the first 100 customers that received a free drink and a match goodie bag. The line was already long at 11 AM, they opened at noon. It was BOGO after the freebies which was cool. I got the mango matcha latte while hubbs got the strawberry matcha latte. Both less sweet with oat milk, we enjoyed it very much. After being in limbo for awhile, they hosted a mock day today with free drinks today and are hoping to officially open next week! The owners + staff were super kind, personable, and knowledgeable about the menu. The exterior is sleek all black, while the interior pops with bright, happy yellow -- such a fun contrast. I tried the unsweetened matcha latte (so smooth + earthy ) and it was delightful. Not too overpowering in milk and more matcha forward. The owner recommended their cold brew matcha, which I'll definitely come back for. They also have boba, aloe, and lychee toppings, fruit teas, and more -- all made with pure tea, real fruit, and natural ingredients.
