Finally got to try Junbi Matcha in Garden Grove at Cottage Industries (right next to Eco Now)! After being in limbo for awhile, they hosted a mock day today with free drinks today and are hoping to officially open next week! The owners + staff were super kind, personable, and knowledgeable about the menu. The exterior is sleek all black, while the interior pops with bright, happy yellow -- such a fun contrast. I tried the unsweetened matcha latte (so smooth + earthy ) and it was delightful. Not too overpowering in milk and more matcha forward. The owner recommended their cold brew matcha, which I'll definitely come back for. They also have boba, aloe, and lychee toppings, fruit teas, and more -- all made with pure tea, real fruit, and natural ingredients. My daughter were entertained for hours with the sandbox, giant Connect 4, basketball hoop, and even musical toys. Junbi just opened another OC location. The location was very cute in the Cottage Industries however parking is a little hard to find. We got their mango matcha and madagascar vanilla latte. Both drinks were very light in flavor and the matcha flavor was not strong at all. The place itself is nice to hangout in but the drinks are just alright. Very nice interior! The service was nice and informative. The matcha came out quite fast. The drink is quite enjoyable. I got the cold Madagascar vanilla matcha, and it's unique. It's got a nice vanilla flavor I don't see in many matchas. That said it was quite pricey. One drink with a milk substitute was already 8+ dollars . The flavor and quality is good but not good enough to justify going here that frequently when there are other good and cheap options. I think it's worth a try though! read more

I came to Junbi's grand opening event and it was awesome! The building itself is adorable. There's several indoor and outdoor seating. It's in a family-friendly area with plenty of spaces to hang out whether it's for a few minutes or a while. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte with lychee. I absolutely loved it. Saw the Instagram post BOGO and went to buy drinks but we got there at 4pm and they had close 4pm-5pm for a break. This seems strange to us since today was their grand opening. So we went to buy drinks at 8pm for a few drinks and end up buying 8 drinks. BUT they said "no bogo" today even after their post and their flyer. We don't get this false advertisement. But gave them benefit of the doubt and bought drinks which they said "buy 2 get 1 free". Overall service was bad but the place was decent decor. Stopped by this spot for the first time today and tried the Matcha Mango Latte! The matcha flavor was pretty good, but the normal sweetness level was a bit on the sweeter side for me. Next time I'll definitely go for less sugar. Also, one small downside: the kiosk showed a lot of items as out of stock (like boba pearls), but it turns out you could still order them at the cashier. Hopefully they can fix the kiosk system soon, since it was a bit confusing. The workers were friendly though! read more

Junbi was a wonderful experience! I recently went today at 5 PM on a Tuesday and the worker at the front immediately welcomed me. The moment I walked in, the store felt warm and welcoming. The Matcha-Esque scent hit my nostril. and my senses was filled with this irreversible allure coming from this front-worker. The worker was extraordinary and directed me with several recommendations. It was okay the matcha flavor wasn't very strong, and it reminded me more of a mango milk tea. I've been to so many matcha spots and this one just hits every single time. I always order the Strawberry Matcha Latte and it is SO good. The matcha is smooth, rich, and not bitter at all, and the strawberry tastes fresh and real, not syrupy. When you mix it together it's literally the perfect balance. It feels like a treat but still clean and high quality, if that makes sense. I also love how consistent it is. I've gone back multiple times and it tastes amazing every time. You can tell they really care about the quality, not just making something that looks good for Instagram. This is officially my go-to matcha spot and I tell everyone about it. This is soley based on their rice ball item. I would not recommend getting it and I am honestly surprised by the quality of the item. Junbi is know for quality and taste and this meets neither of those two. The rice ball flight is 14 dollars for 3 and if your ok with just getting a literally rice ball for that price then you're in luck. I ordered the spam and egg, snow crab and salmon. All 3 items were 98% rice with a dab of everything else. I started with the egg and spam only to find that there is no egg and the spam is tiny sliced cubes that barely even filled the center. The snow crab as you can see in the picture was almost non existent. The salmon portion was a little bit better but still lacking in portion and tasted like it was left sitting out for a while. I'm surprised they would cheap out on these things to skimp on the portions of the protein and only serve rice is really disheartening.
