What a great new Tapas place. Right at the end of the train station building on Pine. Ingrid greeted us happily on a Friday afternoon, and we felt like a friends on the first visit. Her husband Nick, we learned, is the excellent chef, and was working on recipes for catering events. The daily special (mushroom) Empanadas are delicious. Try the Manchego & Smoked Paprika Goat Cheese plate. Very tasty. We tasted a local wine from Derby Vineyard and decide on the full bottle of 2016 Project España RED. Perfect with our dishes. We were treated to an impromptu cheese cake tasting as they're testing different crusts and fillings. I heard a rumor that they are catering the Adelaida Wine Club pickup party ;-) Definitely going back. read more

Omg! Everything, and I do mean everything, was just fantastic... From the service, to the wine, to the food, was just perfect!

What a wonderful find on a trip home from Cambria! The food was superb and the service was even better. Our server was eager to make recommendations and he was so helpful in explaining the menu's offerings. We ordered everything that was suggested and truly loved each small plate we shared. The owners made sure to greet their customers and they also took some time to get to know us by lingering at our table. Turns out we have mutual friends and they are from the Bay Area like us! We could have spent several more hours enjoying their food and drinks and lovely company! The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable...well behaved doggos are welcome and their mini humans too. Everyone looked to be having a great time. We will definitely be back for more when in the area! read more

My husband and I moved to Paso Robles a few months ago and have been exploring the town for new and interesting food spots. I came across Junction on OpenTable which showed availability all evening. So we didn't make a reservation and got a drink downtown before heading over around 6:45p. We walked in and the place was hoppin! Although we didn't have a rez, they graciously offered us a place at the bar and apologized profusely in advance for the "bad service" since they were slammed. The service was anything but! They were kind, attentive, and very appreciative of the patronage. It's a family run restaurant so we were happy to support them. To boot, the food is delicious! We got several tapas and shared some wine. Will definitely add this to our dinner rotation and so should you! read more

We were celebrating our 28th anniversary and took a chance on this restaurant, which turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made (besides marrying my guy)! The food was absolutely fantastic and we can't wait to go back and try pretty much everything else on the menu. We started with the albondigas meatballs in a smoky sauce. Perfectly cooked, still tender and the sauce was thick and rich with paprika. When the meatballs were finished we ate the remaining sauce with a spoon. Then came the tomato toasts-garlicky and beautiful with the addition of jamon iberico. We ordered a Tempranillo from Spain which complemented every dish, especially the paella. We got takeout which often puts restaurants at a disadvantage as many dishes are clearly meant to be enjoyed fresh out the kitchen. However, we thought everything turned out excellent. The empanadas (beef for the day), potato croquettes, sautéed spinach, steamed mussels with sliced baguettes, and charbroiled pork on arugula bed all hit the spot for us after a nearby wine tasting. Even the churros which my wife is notoriously picky about received her seal of approval. Will definitely come back next time we're in town. read more

Fantastic local establishment serving awesome tapas/small plates. Husband runs back of the house which I turns out fresh creative dishes like daily empanadas-today was hanger steak. The dough was perfect outside and in. The charcuterie board included Serrano ham and spicy salami with Manchego and more cheese, quince paste Marcona almonds and dried fruit. Piquillo pepper stuffed with goat cheese-yum. Nice big Garlicky sautéed shrimp and a magnificent crustless cheesecake that tastes like a cross between flan and rich cheesecake . So impressed with this place. The food is exquisite. We had the steak, pork, lamb pops and halibut and everything was amazing. The quality of the food was outstanding and preparation was perfect. Everything was simply cooked but done so well and paired with very fresh salads. The tomato with bread was delicious. This is not a typical location for a restaurant m, as we walked further away from the walkable downtown area toward the train station. Junction was our favorite place so far and we've been to Paso Robles several times. Ingrid, our waitress, said her husband is the chef, but he's working the bar. We ordered empanadas with chicken and they didn't disappoint. The next tapas we shared was the patatas bravas, which were very tasty. Lastly, we tried the wagyu bistec a la plancha, which was my ultimate favorite. The steak melts in your mouth. The salad/vegetables that come with it were great and I don't normally eat tomatoes, but the oil and vinegar on it made it irresistible. I paired my meal with the red sangria, which I loved. My husband had a sparkling rose. Nick, the chef, came over and was very kind and sociable. They are from our area and were familiar with the school I work at. They definitely took care of us and made us feel at home. We will definitely be coming back! read more

Came here with 2 other couples for dinner. We tried a bunch of tapas including the daily special pork milanesa with mole and empanadas as well as the fideuá and churros for dessert. It's definitely a well-kept secret in town. Good place to go on Friday or Saturday if you are looking for convenient parking and a nice place to eat besides sushi (they are by the train station in the old D'anbino's spot). They serve Estrella Damm (Barcelona) on tap and are probably the only place in the county that have it. $25 corkage. It's very Spanish, but also Latin American in style with all our Peruvian, Cuban and Carribean favorites rotating on menu. Can't wait to go back. Pics to follow... read more

Don't miss out if you are visiting Paso or are a local! Junction is an amazing Spanish tapas restaurant. I love authentic tapas and Junction is that hands down! The experience was so special from the moment we were greeted by lovely Ingrid and Chewy to the citrus olive oil cake for dessert. The environment is cozy and inviting, and the food is outrageously delicious. My hubby and I shared Papas Rellanas, Pisto Manchega, Fideua (pasta paella), and lemon olive oil cake. The flavors in every dish were outstanding and prepared perfectly. Hats off to Chef Nick and Ingrid!! We will be regular visitors when we come to Paso!! read more

We arrived in Paso on a Friday and had reservations for Junction around 5pm. We arrived in heat but found the inside was nice and cool. The service was very friendly and the food was excellent. We all had a great meal and enjoyed the atmosphere. Definitely going back here. read more

Not for me. The lamb empinadas were good. Had the steak and fries with the tomato and onion salad. Steak was rare and tender but had very little flavor. Sweet potato fries and salad were fresh. Had a the citrus beer too. Out the door $82... I recommend street side or pappys same food and you don't have to sell a kidney. Servers were nice didn't seem like they had much to do and kinda just lingered around. From the outside the place looks like a local pub, inside is like an abstract wine tasting vibe with a "living room" that you can sit and eat in. I thought that was cool but misleading. I think this is just a new business so they are working out the kinks. Will revisit in a few months. read more

And when we asked questioned he was very knowledgeable and when he didn't know, he introduced us to the owner Nick who was so kind and informative and very knowledgeable about the food and region of the cuisine. This review is for their new restaurant Junction. Previous for the Patio Kitchen food truck. We liked the way it was decorated. Cool spot for friends to enjoy tapas and a shareable dinner. Warmly greeted. We started with tapas: potatoe wedges: got the sauce on the side. They were fluffy inside and crisp out side. The brisket empanadas were flavorfull. The dipping sauce that came with the empanadas was so good. We dipped everything in it!! The meatbalsl were good with a smoky flavor. They brought out some housemade potato chips for us...so good! Really enjoyed those. For the shareable dinner we had the roasted chicken, saffron rice and mixed vegetables. The chicken had good flavor and cooked perfectly. The roasted veggies so good. Mushrooms, zuccini, squash, onions and carrots just roasted to perfection. Both of us were not a fan of the rice. Not much flavor and kind of overcooked. The churros where hot, fresh and dipped in nutella so good. To drink we had the sangria. We both liked it and they made it to order so it was fresh! The owners are so nice and welcoming. We got to be a test kitchen for a possible new item and that was fun. Awesome service and ambiance with a cool vibe. Looking forward to seeing how the menu progresses. read more

I came in on 12/30/22 and my experience was fantastic!! I ordered the Yucca appetizer, jamón ibérico platter, patatas bravas, puerco ibérico loin, vegetables en nogada, and the Moroccan chicken empanadas. Nick was great and very hospitable, along with his staff, I had the estrella lager, which is a great beer from Spain that was exciting to see on a tap! Everything came out quickly, hot, and cooked to perfection, that pork sent me on a flashback to my last trip to Spain 4 years ago, and this was legit authentic. Thank you Nick for the beautiful ambience, attention to detail on fantastic food, and the playlist was on point that day as well! I highly recommend this place, and I will gladly return anytime I'm in Paso Robles. read more

We ate tapas for dinner here en route to Pismo Beach. The restaurant is ideally located just a few minutes from the freeway (not that you'd realize it once you are there) with a parking lot right out front. The interior is elegant and not crowded. The hosts, a husband and wife team, were friendly, explaining the menu and checking in. We ate patatas bravas (hot and crispy), the special empanadas (beef in a puff pastry), Spanish frittata, piquillos rellenos, and the special "lamb lollipops". Everything was really delicious. My husband I stoped by for dinner recently. Right away we got a good feeling. The place is clean and staff is friendly. They have music in Spanish playing in the background which was a plus for me :) We had patatas bravas (had a nice kick to them), ground lamb empanadas, serrano ham & manchego cheese board (serrano ham was delish), champiñones al ajillo, and albóndigas en pimienton. I think that four instead of five tapas is plenty for two. I didn't know at the time and we ended up with some left overs but couldn't take it with us because we were only passing by. read more

Excellent dinner for our wine club's visit to Paso Robles last weekend. It's named for being right next to the rail tracks, so once in a while you hear trains passing by. Open 1.5 years it's increasing the restaurant scene in vibrant Paso Robles. Owner Nick worked with our host to fashion a menu that included shared appetizers of charcuterie board (loved the quince paste and the local honey and thinly sliced Spanish style jamon), beef empanadas (dip was memorable), tortilla, salad, and two different cakes, and personal entrees. Mine was the octopus- it was elegantly presented with a very nice Romesco and chile de arbol sauce. There were parts of the octopus that were a bit chewy and could have used some tenderization. My regret was Nick was not serving the oxtail which would have been my first choice. He told me that the chef who created it left, but he may bring it back later this summer. I tasted my wife's order of lamb lollipops. They were tender, delicious and had nice spicy crust and char. We savored some local wines, though after visiting 3 wineries during the day, we were a bit satiated with wines. Overall a great addition to Paso. read more

Friends took me to dinner there last night for my birthday. Atmosphere and staff were amazing. Food was another matter. My chicken was tasteless and dry. Cuban rice mushy. My friend ordered the meat platter. Lamb chops were good but the ribs and steak had little flavor. I will say that the Sangria we ordered was delicious. read more
