Had a really great experience at Juniper Table last week. Went to Palm Springs to check out Desert X and was recommended by my Airbnb host to check out this place. Don't let the casual vibe lead you to believe the food is casual too. My boyfriend and I were impressed so say the least. Started off with some veggie appetizers: Brussels sprouts, potato with turnip purée and the cauliflower dish... all delicious and had unexpected yet nuanced flavors. The Brussels sprouts were my favorite of the three. It's not hard to make veggies taste interesting, yet so many restaurants lack a good veggie dish. Next we shared the octopus dish with Chimichurri potatoes and Romesco sauce. The octopus was so fresh and tender. Finally a place that cooks octopus correctly! Loved the Romesco sauce as well (spicyyy). Next course I had the Branzino. The fish was cooked perfectly, crispy skin and juicy fish. My boyfriend had the Porchetta and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lastly we got the s'mores. Every part of the dessert is made in-house, including the rosemary fire salt! The marshmellows are placed on rosemary skewers which also infuse their flavor. Omg!! We go to Palm Springs often, and we stumbled upon this hidden gem at the Rowan Hotel. We had the Pasta e Fagioli, Farm Green Salad, Chicken Cacciatore, and a Pizza. They all were wonderful. My favorite was definitely the Pasta e Fogioli. It was nice and light, definitely not what comes to your mind when you think of pasta. Kudos to the chef! Everything was spectacular, Rachel the manager was very nice and chef Roy even came out to our table to make sure we enjoyed our meal! This is what hospitality is about. This place is "order at the counter" and they add a gratuity if you are a party of 6. Even though they don't have servers ...we said we would sit at different tables and paid upfront separately. but they said they still need to charge us cause we walked in together. Seems like a solid place to get breakfast, coffee, or a quick lunch however I made the mistake of planning to go for dinner. It's basically a hotel coffee shop that happens to have a dinner menu. Juniper Table is a cute cafe/restaurant located inside a hotel in downtown Palm Springs. There is a free parking lot located near the art museum and takes less than 2 minutes to walk over. The dining menu at Juniper table is not as extensive as I would have hoped, but the options are noteworthy. I got the B.L.A.T which is their version of a BLT and it was great. Good portions and lovely side of fries. I also balanced my meal with a side order of roasted cauliflower. The cauliflower side was great and had raisins and nuts to give the overall side dish a sweet tangy flavor with a crunch. Cool spot to check out if one is looking for a classy meal near the downtown area. read more

The pictures will speak for themselves for the QUALITY of this place. Not only is this my favorite go-to place in Palm Springs, but there's no other restaurant like it. The flavors of every dish are sooo explosive, you just can't get tired of it. Every plate is unique and different! The chefs are just spectacular and they represent that through their amazing food. Walked to this restaurant from our hotel for brunch/lunch. My husband very much enjoyed his Breakfast Skillet. I ate almost all of the Date and Citrus Salad that I ordered (few too many dates for my taste.) Great service and nice outdoor patio. Recommend that they replace the inside ordering at the counter with table service especially since it is part of a hotel and should be a little more higher end. read more

Food it's okay and definitely overpriced. They charge for bread as well. Ingredients are mediocre (the burrata was cold from the fridge and the prosciutto old and not from Italy). Even the rucola was okay, the best dish was the impossible burger... impossible to get it wrong... Nice location, I guess that is all it was about. read more

What a pleasant surprise at the Rowan Hotel in Palm Springs. The service was wonderful and the food was incredible. I had the watermelon soup which was out of this world and a rib-eye sandwich which was wonderful. Even the sour dough roll was amazing. In other times probably a higher rating but we got takeout during COVID and were treated rudely by staff at pickup (tipped 20 percent in advance btw) and order was wrong, (chips not fries). The outdoor dining is nice, smelling the exhaust fumes, not so much. Menu seems pretty limited and also pricey for what is being offered. I ordered the fried chicken; I received a small chicken breast with mashed potatoes and green beans. The best thing on the plate was the green beans. I wanted an iced tea to drink but was told they were out of iced tea. I've never known a restaurant to run out of iced tea before. I ordered the cookie skillet for dessert. I received a single cookie about the size of a Chips Ahoy cookie with some ice cream on top. I won't be going back, that's for sure. read more

This review is for a lack of safety practices. They have a sign on the windows stating masks required, but when I arrived two people ordering at the front counter were not wearing masks. It made for a terribly uncomfortable wait to order my food as they were taking their time deciding. They were moving around and then turned around and walked right past me to get to the door with zero consideration for spacing. I almost walked out and left but I had limited time to get lunch. The cashier is a very nice woman but never once said "There is a state order to wear a mask, can you please put one on? " In fact she went out of her way to be overly accomadating to them. I'm sorry but when Riverside County has 99% capacity of hospital beds full and covid-19 surging again, restaurants must enforce this REQUIRED order or be called out. I'm calling you out. read more

Beautiful day outside in the morning with my wife enjoying a very tasty and well prepared Farmer's omelette with peppers, mushrooms, summer squash (that was a first), goat cheese and smashed breakfast potatoes. Coffee was super tasty. My wife raved about the Breakfast skillet. The feedback is the long line and slow order taking that has to be done at the counter. Very nice location and decor. Our server was very nice but the restaurant was understaffed. It took the kitchen over 30 minutes to serve us avocado toast and charcuterie appetizers. Entrees took well over an hour. And there was literally 10 people in the whole place. Live music was perfect. Loved it. Drink and food prices are higher than the quality of their products. I had the pork and the center was dry. Everything else was fat. The side was just brown mush. Not sure what it was supposed to be. I would go back for a drink and the music, but I would not eat there again. There are too many great places nearby that are better quality, better service, and more affordable. read more

Juniper Table is a fairly new place in the Rowan building downtown. It 's very attractive. The pizza was fine. Our friend liked his burger. Special derision, however, must be given to the panzanella salad, which is basically a $17 bowl of croutons. I doubt that anyone has ever finished one. read more

Ordered the kale caesar with chicken, it was only ok, a little on the salty side but ok, I'll eat it. Then, it just got to a point where my eyes would squint and was WAY to salty, I couldn't eat it. Maybe halfway. We let the server know and he offered me something else, but at that point, I didn't want anything else from there. But no offer of a refund or even a dessert or beverage on them. Also, manager never came to check in, just cleaned the tables around us like she was afraid to talk to us. Disappointing, won't be back. Maybe because they're part of the hotel they assume we're tourists and don't care, we were one of the only people there. Visited Palm Springs for the night and chose to go to Juniper Table! The service was amazing and the food and drinks were even better! We got the fried chicken and the truffle lobster Mac n cheese. The fried chicken was amazing but the Mac n cheese was the best I've ever had before. The amount of lobster they give you is amazing too! The restaurant is in a prime location in downtown Palm Springs and we were seated right away, despite the downtown crowds for Village Fest. I ordered the Broccoli Date Crunch and my fiancé the JT burger and they were both hard to beat. The broccoli date crunch was very fresh yet loaded with flavor. We felt like we found a hidden gem! The "breakfast potatoes" were ok, fried but no discernible flavor added, I used the ketchup provided. Fresh spinach on the side. Also I ordered the "fruit bowl". Fresh and tasty, with lots of blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, cantaloupe and honeydew. I was pleasantly surprised by the tea offered, a bagged loose left that was very good (Breakfast Assam). The food was well prepared and attractively plated. My only real dislike is having to order at the counter. I will return for another excellent omelette. read more

The restaurant was properly socially distanced, employees were wearing masks and they had disposable and digital menus available. I ordered the Ancient Grain salad and added chicken which came out to $24. My wife ordered their date pizza which was $22. The other members of our party ordered sandwiches and an omelette which were all $15 or less. My salad was tiny, and I mean TINY. None of the "ancient grains" or root veggies on it amounted to anywhere near $16, and the $8 chicken addition was over cooked and stringy. Believe it or not, chicken breast doesn't need to be cooked to death. It can still be tender and juicy. My wife's pizza was delicious and the size was worth the $22. The other entrees were large, delicious and worth the much smaller sums of money. If you go, avoid the salads and avoid chicken at all costs. read more

Walking in you have to order at the front and sit your self. I order the French toast and side of potatoes. The only thing I could taste in the French toast was the honey and fruit around it and also the uncooked egg and batter. The side of potatoes was flavorless as well. My partner order the citrus date salad with chicken and it had no dates and dressing was flavorless. The chicken in the salad had a small bone. Did I mention it took for ever to receive food too. Had lunch at Juniper Table in Palm Springs today. What a horrible experience. First of all there was nothing on their website that said this was a cafeteria style restaurant...you wait in line to order your food, take a number, and wait and wait and wait. We waited in line for 10 minutes to order our food and then waited over an hour for it to be delivered. We ordered alcoholic drinks which never came until I asked for them 30 minutes after we sat down. There was only one person delivering food. Staff was not friendly or apologetic. The girl at the cash register was putting on deodorant. She reached under her shirt and rubbed deodorant under both armpits. This was done out in the open. She didn't even try to hide what she was doing. The only reason I gave this restaurant 2 stars was because the food was good but certainly not worth the wait. Terrible customer service. At one point, the waiter came over after we had ordered and asked if we just wanted our check instead because the service was so slow/awful. He forgot our appetizer until he came to get our entree order. 1 hour later we received our food which was disgusting. Kraft cheese on my burger and a bun that was so dry I put it to the side and just ate the meat. The waiter was rude and did not apologize when he forgot our app but then suddenly changed his behavior when we said we would rather stay and get our food/when the check was arriving. read more
