We weren't even talking to our waiter at the time and didn't realize he was within earshot, but my friend had mentioned how good the potatoes looked and that she wished she had ordered them. I wish I could give 0 stars. Brick, the manager, was so incredibly rude and dismissive when I reported that my phone had been taken from my table. Find my Phone App showed that it was there at the restaurant, but he refused to be at all helpful. He wouldn't even look me in the eye to discuss it. This happened at the end of lunch-time. Such a cute place! I've been wanting to come here for a while now, make sure you make a reservation! It's gorgeous outside and the indoor area is totally open with giant windows and open doors, giving a good mix of indoor/outdoor. The service was very good and kind. The majority of our food was delicious, however two of us ordered eggs Benedict and it came out so much later than everyone else's. I believe they ran out of the sauce...so they took forever, was given to us cold with no sauce on it (while we waited for them to make more sauce). It ended up being pretty good, but cold and extremely after the others. They did compensate for our two meals, including the drinks we ordered which was very nice of them. Wow!!! I was so excited to try The Pink Cabana while visiting Palm Springs. You walk through the stunning boutique hotel to get to the restaurant and right when I walked in I loved it. It is decorated in gorgeous pinks/greens/blacks. It's so beautiful that you don't know what to look at. The food and service were incredible...we ordered the steak and fries and the chicken harissa and both were delicious! Jennifer checked in on our table and went above and beyond by even letting us try their mouth watering key lime pie (I am not a key lime fan and thought it was fantastic)!! Took a little bit for our food to come out and when it did only three of our five orders came out. They were very apologetic and said it would be a minute but we waited for quite a while. When I found out I had to come back in the area for work there wasn't a doubt in my mind where I wanted to stay, here of course. I was worried I'd miss my dinner reservation but I didn't and I'm so glad it worked out. This time I ordered the gluten free Fritto Misto (rice flour), it is cross contaminated in the fryer so tread cautiously for those who are sensitive. The menu updates seasonally because last time I was here was winter and it was different. I'm always a fan of a seasonal menu to keep it fresh. The fritto misto was yummy. It has green olives, artichokes, and calamari in the dish (all coated and fried). It was a little heavy but what do you expect with a fried dish, right?! I also ordered the Alaskan Halibut which was served on a corn puree with fresh garden beans and cherry tomatoes. The halibut had a nice crusty sear on it, still flaky and moist inside. Perfection! No dessert today, but last time I had the key lime pie which I saw on the menu again and it was DELICIOUS last time. I'd come back for the vibe alone. The bar here is exceptionally beautiful, but in general this whole place is picture worthy. The service was standard nothing really stood out. Parking can be a challenge so if you're visiting maybe reach out to see if they are hosting an event. FACILITY: One of the best in CV, off the road, quiet, secluded and beautiful landscaping around pool area. MENU: Simple and chef driven, not a lot of choices but all will be well prepared. FOOD PREP: Nicely done with intent not just placed on the plate. We had humus appetizer and four meals. FOOD QUALITY: Not the best I have had in CV, but good enough. Scallops were expensive $49, and not that great for three small scallops that did not pop. They said large and they were not even close, well prepped but disappointing. Salads were great, I had a Chicory Salad and it was huge and perfect for a warm evening with a glass/bottle of wine. LIBATIONS: Our very professional waitress, Mel, Meg ? sorry I am in a fog, She made the drink ordering and delivery interesting and a bunch of fun and she was fun. Exceptional Service for our table made the entire dining experience worth the expense. WAITSTAFF: Excellent, everyone was so professional, from servers to people bussing the tables a 10. The hotel and restaurant are beautiful, and I genuinely wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, our experience raised serious concerns about how food allergies are handled. One member of our group requested that tomatoes and onions be omitted from her meal, but the request was not honored. We simply removed them ourselves and moved on. In hindsight, it raised concerns about attention to detail when it comes to special requests. The more serious issue involved my sister, who has a severe egg allergy. Before ordering, she clearly informed the staff of her allergy. Multiple members of our group reiterated the severity of it and specifically asked for confirmation that her meal contained no eggs, that ingredients had been verified, and that precautions had been taken to prevent cross-contamination. She was also asked whether she had any additional allergies, such as dairy, and confirmed that egg was her only concern. After taking a single bite of her salad, she experienced an immediate allergic reaction. Given the speed and severity of the reaction, we were extremely concerned that she had been exposed to a good amount of egg as opposed to a little contamination. As staff became aware of the situation, we were repeatedly told that the dish contained no eggs and asked whether she might be allergic to dairy. While no one in our group was confrontational, we were focused on addressing a potentially serious medical situation. The responses felt defensive rather than investigative, and we did not feel reassured that the situation was being handled appropriately. What stood out most was the lack of acknowledgment of the seriousness of what had occurred. Even after management was made aware of the incident, several members of our group (including my sister) were told, "We hope to see you again soon." While likely well-intentioned, the comment felt out of place given the circumstances. I do not believe anyone intended harm. However, when a guest communicates a life-threatening food allergy, there is very little room for error. This was an adorable place for brunch or lunch, with good food and excellent service. It has a small but smart menu with really good avocado toast and a perfectly poached egg with bright orange yolk. The toast was soft enough to eat with a fork and knife, which I appreciate. We shared a fruit plate, and it was all ripe and flavorful. The drinks include iced mint tea and Turkish coffee. The server helped us decide on a few things and responded to a couple picky requests without batting an eye. The manager introduced themselves and was working the room in an attentive yet non-invasive way. Everyone just seemed happy working there. Went to Pink Cabana during Coachella weekend (so it was packed), and Isabella was honestly amazing. Even with how busy everything was, she stayed super nice, calm, and on top of everything. She checked in on us, made sure we had what we needed, and never made us feel rushed. We were disappointed with both the food and service today at The Pink Cabana. 2 orders of Harissa Chicken were overcooked and difficult to cut through, even with a steak knife. The server had very few tables but seemed bothered by the request for replacement entrees, and with any request our party of 6 had. The replacement were entrees prepared better. Service today I would rate as a C- , our server rarely stopped at our table. The ambience of this restaurant is lovely, but this spot requires better food and service.
