10 Piece Wings
Cory R.

I was handling some business at the State Bar of Georgia which is right across the street and I decided to try this place out. I have seen this place for at least a decade. Nothing says Atlanta food like Just Around the Corner.... This place is literally just around the corner from all things Atlanta - Centennial Olympic Park, Mercedes Benz Stadium/State Farm Arena, CNN Center, College Football Hall of Fame, and Downtown Atlanta.  Place is perfect for those Atlanta tourist and equally perfect for residents. The inside is small and is definitely a hole in the wall establishment. We all know that hole in the wall establishment make the best wings and sandwiches and this place did not disappoint. I ordered 10 mild wings and and seasoned fries with a side of ranch. The weather was great and I enjoyed

"Chili Cheese Hotdog"

As soon as I walked in I was disgusted. Against my better judgment I decided to try it out due to the 4 Star yelp rating. I ordered a chili cheese dog with a sprite. I watched them make my hot dog then handle the toppings without gloves. I'm still hoping for the best hotdog of my life due to the other good yelp reviews. When I opened the hot dog up to enjoy it I found the most disgusting microwaved hot dog topped with one piece of Kraft singles, and a spoonful of what tasted like bushes baked beans.

The owner and cook explained that being such a small spot he has to make the food with extra love. Everything is handmade. He makes fresh hamburgers every morning and the White Fish is fresh & delicious. Prices are 1/2 of what a fast food spot would charge. It's nothing fancy just great tasting food.

Stopped by and had the jerk chicken fresh off the grill. Perfectly cooked and juicy, just the right amount of spice, and super delicious. Owner/cook was friendly and kind. Too bad I don't live in Atlanta to come by more often.

Bacon Cheddar Burger with fries (extra)

Ehhhhhh... I really wanted to like this place, especially after so many glowing Yelp reviews. I've always wondered how the food was at this restaurant from passing by it for hundreds of years. Today, I decided to bypass the other options in the area and finally check it out. It has that grimey, "food spot" look that normally yields delicious food so my expectations were heightened. Initially, I was going to order the gyro but another review turned me off so I opted for the bacon cheddar burger instead. I was surprised to learn that a side is no longer included in the price and is charged a la carte... no biggie but my meal was now not quite as cheap as I was expecting it to be. Lol All of the ingredients were fresh, including the beef patty. The man who took my order was nice and handled everything on the grill while another cook prepared my food to be served. The second cook was also very friendly and even caught the fact that the first cook failed to put the cheddar on my bacon cheddar burger. The taste of the food is where things got fuzzy. It wasn't a bad burger but it also wasn't great. I don't know if it was the patty or the sauce but something had a weird, slightly sour taste that started to make my tummy hurt halfway through the burger. The fries looked promising but ultimately were forgettable. For the price I ended up paying, I'd probably come out going elsewhere for slightly better quality.

Great lunch spot! Super friendly staff, great food, quick service. Got the fish sandwich (amazing), Philly cheesesteak (also very good), and the cheeseburger (rave reviews from my friend). Very limited seating indoors but outside seating is shaded under trees so it's wasn't terrible on a 97 degree hot summer day with the breeze.

Great food! Cheap! Best burger in downtown ATL. Can't beat it, and the fries were great too.

The space is clean but not sterile: exposed brick, warm wood, and a bar that glows like it wants you to linger. *The food* skips the tired "burgers and mac" checklist. Think short rib agnolotti with smoked corn puree, charred broccolini with miso-garlic butter, and a fried chicken sandwich that somehow stays crisp under a jalapeño honey glaze. Portions are generous without being wasteful, and everything tastes intentional like the kitchen tested it 10 times before it hit the menu. *The cocktails are the real flex.* The menu changes seasonally, but the bar team leans into flavor over gimmicks. I tried the *Oaxacan Old Fashioned* with mezcal, mole bitters, and orange peel that's torched tableside. Smoky, slightly sweet, zero gimmick. My friend went for the *Cucumber Basil Gimlet* and said it tasted like summer in a glass. No sugary syrup bombs here. Bartenders actually explain what's in your drink if you ask, and they're good at steering you if you're unsure. Service hit the sweet spot between attentive and relaxed. Water refills showed up without hovering, and the server knew the menu well enough to call out what's spicy, what's rich, and what's worth splitting. It feels like a place locals will become regulars at, but it's good enough to bring out-of-town friends to. Creative without being precious, tasty without being safe. Sorry I didn't take pictures,

It's true what they say: you have to ask the locals if you want to find a truly scrumptious meal! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was absolutely stunning. The restaurant is elegant, refined, and beautifully designed, creating the perfect setting for a memorable evening. Our server, LeNarus, provided impeccable service throughout the meal. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations that elevated the entire experience. The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. My favorites were the fried green tomatoes, the tomato basil bruschetta, the whipped formaggio, and the lemon miso salmon, which was cooked to perfection. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and paired perfectly. The Hugo cocktails were also exceptional: refreshing, well-balanced, and the perfect complement to the meal. I honestly wish I could come here every day! If you're looking for outstanding food, exceptional service, and a sophisticated atmosphere, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommended!

There were a couple of Apps ordered for the table and both were very good. We had the Whipper Formaggio and the Spicy Shrimp Crunch. Really liked the shrimp, but I didn't find it spicy at all. There were a number of good options for the main. A number of people got the Lemon Miso Salmon and everyone thought it was good. I was leaning to the Braised Short Ribs but pivoted to the Roasted Pappardelle Pasta. The fresh pasta was excellent. The tomato cream sauce worked great with the shrimp and chorizo. This was a very cool place and there is little doubt that I will return.

I had the Seafood and Sausage Gumbo and a half Po' Boy called Bo Kho, and while both were enjoyable, they're items I could easily make at home. I'd go again if invited but probably wouldn't make a special trip. If you're curious, it's worth checking out for yourself.
