They opened Monday and I've been back three times. The beef is not like other Mediterranean food. Very fresh and lean. Not sitting on a spit for four days straight. Lots of options. I love the build your own beef wrap with their tzatziki and special chili sauce and the garlic spread. The best way to describe it is a fresher, higher quality, modernized Mediterranean restaurant. The menu was a little intimidating at first, and I thought it to be odd that it read right to left instead of left to right but that's minimal. I had the falafel salad and hubs had the chicken- Both great. I loved all the toppings. It is essentially a chipotle but for Mediterranean food. We will be making this a monthly lunch date for sure! I am so impressed with this restaurant. I placed a delivery order, and when it arrived I noticed there was a slight issue with a couple small sides missing. I called the business to find a resolution, and I spoke with the owner. He not only remedied the issue, he went far beyond my expectations in righting a wrong. He refunded more than a generous amount, and then delivered the missing items personally. Not only did he deliver the original missing items, he gave me additional items to thank me for understanding the mishap because they were short-staffed earlier in the day. While the food I've tried here has been tasty and fresh, the main reason I'm writing this review is to let others know that the customer service is top notch. Try this restaurant; I have confidence if you are not satisfied, they will go out of their way to make it right. Wow... Where do I even begin. This place doesn't even need my review because anyone who ends up at Just Falafel will love it. It's essentially a build-your-own type of place with a wrap, rice bowl, or salad bowl foundation as options. I came during the lunch rush on Monday at about 11:30 and although there was a line, the wait wasn't bad at all because of how efficiently and professionally the staff was working. Despite how busy it was, Shadi and his staff were incredibly jovial, friendly, and accomodating to everyone in the line. Even though it was my first time, it was a smooth ordering experience because of how well the process is articulated on the menu above the line. I asked for multiple side orders, including one that required cooking by the already busy chef Shadi, but he seamlessly incorporated it into his work flow and neither I nor any of the other guests had to wait longer for it. The care and detail that goes into each ingredient definitely comes off to the customer. All the greens and vegetables are fresh, the ingredients well seasoned, and no corners are cut on the meat with real shawerma style rotating meat columns for all three types of meat. For vegans and vegetarians, there's no cross contamination. Shadi is a consummate professional, and I witnessed him uncompromisingly change gloves between orders. I am an Arab and I can say that not only are the flavors authentic, but that they go beyond the too-familiar nd are innovative and fresh. I ordered the following: Base: Rice bowl, Hot toppings: sautéed summac onions, original hummus (extra) Toppings: Tabbouleh, olives, lettuce, tomatoes, parsley, roasted red pepper, mint Sauce: Tahini, Tzatziki, hot chili Protein: lamb and chicken (double protein) Sides: Original fries, Baklava Beverage: root beer What I asked for wasn't easy, but it didn't slow the staff down at all. My meat came freshly off the shawerma rotisserie thing, and the baklava was excellent. In the midst of the next customers, Shadi managed my additional order of fries, and had the care to remove them from the oil exactly on time, season them while hot and letting them drip so they weren't oily. This shows his knowledge, professionalism, and customer care. The guys right behind me in line were amazed by how amazing the fries looked. All this, and he threw in a falafel when I told him it was my first time and that I'm from out of town. What a nice guy. This is a place that has a vision. The mind behind it all is clearly a master of the proteins, meats, spices, and vegetables offered at this place, while also being a visionary when it comes to customer experience and presentation. There is a simplicity to the idea that make it approachable, and a masterful level of intricacy that perfects customer satisfaction. I went years ago when they first opened and wasn't that impressed, however I decided to give them another try when I noticed they changed their menu from the last time I was there. I really appreciate that they mark which foods are vegan and which are keto, makes ordering so simple. They also have 2 different tazatziki, a keto friendly and regular, when not many restaurants are willing to go to that effort. Will definitely be back. read more

This place was the worst Falafel I ever had! Didn't even know it was possible to mess up Falafel! They were very overcooked and flavorless. Tried two sauces, both were also flavorless. If your looking for real Greek, I would suggest going somewhere else. read more

I am a huge fan of Mediterranean food and I can honestly say that this place is delicious! There are a lot of options to build your own bowl (rice or salad) or shawarma wrap. The beef shawarma was really tasty, the roasted red pepper hummus and the sumac onions really kicked it up in flavor. lamb wrap is great - all the ingredients they use are quit yummy but I gave 2 stars because of the following reasons: - The tahina sauce is just lackluster/boring/gross - The tabouli has almost NO FLAVORs at all that make it tabouli, i'm pretty sure it's missing lemon juice and any other sort of seasonings that are a MUST in tabouli - The falafels could be a bit more flavorful as well... I am generally disappointed in the lackluster flavor profile of the JF options. JF does consider themselves a "street food to storefront" venture - I'd rather find a random street food place than go back to JF. read more

Their obsession with portion control is really off putting. The assembly people are like robots. They seem to count grains of tabbouleh! I'm sure they'll get in trouble if they offered even slightly more generous scoops, which means mgmt is instructing them to serve this way. But in business and life, you don't cut off your nose to spite your face. They could have so many more repeat customers if they just relaxed a bit. Raise prices by $0.50 or $1 if you have to, that's fine, but don't make the customer feel he is on a bread/soup line in the Great Depression. Your approach reeks of low class. Watch your margins, sure, but not to the point where you watch your customers walk to another food vendor.... read more

This place is not only overpriced but also not very tasty... I have only gone here with coworkers who wanted to try it out, but would never go by myself after having had their food a few times. I would get the rice bowl with either chicken or falafel.. And for a place called "just falafel", it is weird that the falafel is not very good. It's a pretty small portion for about $10. What made the experience even worse was that I was charged $3.50 before tax for A CANNED DRINK! That's worse pricing than NRG or even Disney World. Good grief... Highway robbery for sure. Of all of the restaurants in Allen center, I am pretty certain that this place is the most expensive with worst tasting food. If you wanted anything Mediterranean, go up to the street level. I have started coming here regularly as it's one of the healthier options in the tunnel. You can get a falafel bowl or wrap with plenty of nutritious toppings like avocado, radish, green onions, salad, diced cucumbers etc. and tasty sauces like tahini or tzatziki. The staff is friendly and ready to please. I also like the tomato soup they have here which has a red pepper flavor. Another recent delicious healthy side offering is a quinoa salad with bits of feta in it. Decent drink offerings as well such as mineral water and Izze natural sodas. read more

I have tried this place twice and wont return. The falafel is dry and no flavor. The chicken shawarma is not good - rubbery dark meat, greasy, lots of fat and skin - gross! they are not cutting it off the rotisserie fresh - it sits in a container on the serving line. They are not using white breast meat like most shawarma I have had. Got a rice bowl and the rice was greasy. read more
