In my recent quest to become Brad Pitt in Fight club skinny, I have been a frequent customer of Just Salad. God works hard but the devil and these calorie dense office snacks been workin harder. The line is long but moves quick, as Just Salad is a finely tuned machine like a Ford assembly line. I always opt to build my own in which I am going to begin calling the "Rockstar Skinny Bowl." Let me put y'all on: Start with an all kale base and add sweet potatoes, pickled onion, tomatoes, and chickpeas and top it off with oven roasted chicken. Light, keyword LIGHT, balsamic vinaigrette and a hard no to the bread on the side. Rule #76 - No excuses, play like a champion. You can taste the freshness of all the ingredients and it is demolishing Chopt in a head-to-head fast casual salad competition. reading and comprehension has been an issue at this specific location for at least a year now. Everytime I order they do not follow instructions, and then customer service says there is nothing they can do. So food is wasted because it is thrown away and so is money because I don't ever get a refund. read more

You expect a good salad when you go to Just Salad...and even pretty good service as you go down the line choosing what you want. But I'm here to extol the virtues of the staff watching the online ordering. I ordered in advance and saw there would be at least a 15 minute wait. But when I got there early, a staff member noticed I was standing around and waiting, she asked for my name and made sure the salad was made promptly to get me out the door. That's service...and that's must appreciated! (FYI, I got the Autumn Ceaser, and it was great!) read more

I've been coming to this location as my primary lunch spot (3-5 days per week) for 6 years. That really speaks to how good I thought this place was when it first opened. JustSalad offers better variety and customization than most midtown spots, and happens to be closer to my office. After a year or so, the shift manager at this location got to know me and I always felt taken care of. I knew with confidence that I could place my order online, walk in, be greeted by name and with a smile, with my salad & utensils ready to go. If my salad was not ready, I would get a sincere apology and an offer to make it right - usually an extra piece of bread, which I'd often decline, but it's the thought that counts. I returned to the office more rapidly and readily than most, and continued to come here every day... until the new location opened up on Madison and 41st. Game changer. Not even because of the location, but because that place immediately implemented an efficient assembly line process that never seemed to be implemented at 5th Ave/39th. I started going back and forth between them, because I felt a loyalty to this 5th Ave location despite the better service on Madison. That is over. The friendly manager is long gone, and the scene here is consistently chaotic and disorganized, and my salad is always late and/or missing items. Today, as frequently is the case, they did not even start preparing my food until after I came in at the designated pick-up time, ~30 minutes after ordering. I asked them to cancel my order, but they told me it was "already being made." Yet I then had to wait another 10 minutes in store before I could finally leave. This never happens on Madison, where your salad is ALWAYS ready by the pick-up time. They didn't even offer to make it right - I had to demand a canned drink as compensation. If this place is closer to your office, consider the walk to Madison as extra beneficial exercise to go along with your salad. This location doesn't need to continue in business if they can't figure out operate efficiently. read more

My favorite branch of Just Salad! I love how this is close to Bryant Park and the layout of the place makes it really relaxing and peaceful. Some of the staff don't really care much but there are a few who are pretty nice and friendly. My go-to order is Roasted Turkey Health Cobb salad. Coming from someone who wasn't a big salad eater before, this salad totally converted me to being one. I actually crave it once a week. So healthy and so delicious! The portion is also pretty generous so I end up eating it for both lunch and dinner! :) read more

I had such amazing customer service! I was greeted immediately walking in and when offered a swap when I removed an item from one of their signature salads! I grabbed the keto (and I'm not keto) and it was EXCELLENT! I swapped the pepper jack cheese for chickpeas and i must say, it was one of the more filling salads I've ever had. They had bar seating indoors facing the street (hello excellent people watching) and had a few tables outside as well. I love to grab burgers, pizza, tacos, etc. but I'm so happy I found a lunch option that tastes good and is CLEAN & HEALTHY! read more

I'm not the eating a salad everyday during work kind of person or at least I never thought I'd be but when your sitting down for the majority of the day you might as well get a salad. Personally I like this place over chopt and I think it generally tastes fresher. The line for sweet green is always ridiculous so this is a more low-key option. The people have always been nice but if you order ahead make sure to ask them for utensils when you get there since they don't always include it. read more

I really like it ! I was surprised, because typically places like this (build your own salad/bowl/whatever) have at least 1/3 of their ingredients wilted. Everything here is very fresh, and orders are filled efficiently. I had a forgers bowl with extra avocado, and it was delicious! Definitely recommend trying this place out, and can't wait to return. read more

Been coming to Just Salad off and on for years. Got a new job last year near Bryant Park, so I started hitting up this location and WOW how great this team is. I haven't gone to another store since! If having to live through a pandemic is not overwhelming enough.... Imagine having to work and navigate through one in NYC. I want to thank Tanisha and her staff at Just Salad (39th & 5th Ave location) for their tireless efforts through these unprecedented times for not only staying open but also braving the adverse conditions. I know you guys are probably tired of seeing me two or three times a week, but I cannot fully express my gratitude especially to Tanisha. Thank you for being so welcoming, attentive, accommodating, responsive.... and all the superlatives you can think of! P.S. This was probably the best Just Salad meal I've ever had. One of the workers named Summer hooked me up with two amazing salads packed to perfection and the best avo blast toast!! Although it took a few extra minute to get my food, the energy and hospitality was above and beyond, it was definitely worth the wait. Just Salad not only offers healthy, delicious salads, wraps and bowls with varying calorie counts depending on how much dressing you like and how fast your metabolism is, but it also has wonderful staffers like Fatou, who are kind, helpful, hard-working and tip-worthy. She created two complicated riffs on caesar salads with tons of extras for my husband and me, without ever missing a beat. They have some pretty good food here, but their treatment of customers is beyond awful and seems somewhat fraudulent. They deliver through seamless and this evening I placed an order at 6:11 PM, and at 7:29 I still hadn't received anything even though the expected delivery was between 5:55-7:05. So I contacted seamless and they called the restaurant and Just Salad told them that my order was placed after they closed so they were going to cancel it... Excuse me? First of all, this location is open until 9:00. Secondly, were you just going to take my money and not ever contact me to let me know? They made me wait an hour and a half for the food they knew was never going to come, now I have to wait another hour for a new restaurant to get here. What an insanely rude way to treat your customers... They also didn't even officially cancel the order until after seamless contacted them. Lastly, that seems extremely fraudulent that they would allow an order to take place while they're still open, take the payment, and then refuse to honor the order. EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE STILL OPEN FOR ANOTHER HOUR AND A HALF. read more

I was a fan when this place first opened, but it has been gradually going downhill. And, today's experience has sealed the deal. The salad I picked up at 12:00 noon was completely stale. Not fresh. Greens tasted poorly. The radish slices were actually "limp." Chicken is rubbery and tasteless. And there was so little dressing that I actually thought they forgot to add it. No flavor, dry and unenjoyable. I finally threw it away having lost my appetite. I noticed the last time just a week ago that the salad seemed "stale." Now I know it wasn't a one time mistake. read more

Horrible customer service no urgency to help guest and thats the beginning. Ordered a warm bowl that was more like an ice bowl everything was cold. They also put what looked to be small pieces of lamb with what was supposed to be chicken. On top of that the portions are tiny. I would never waste a single penny at this place again I ended up throwing my meal in the garbage. read more

Can I just that the buffalo chicken salad is delicious and it comes in wrap options! But the reason why this place is getting 5 stars from me is because Linnett and her team were super on point with a huge lunch order I had. I got annoyed at ordering online for the office lunch so I decided to walk there instead. Linnett took charge of my order and labeled everything for me to make my life easier. She finished a 15 people order in under 15 minutes and most importantly they were accurate! The whole team always exhibit great customer service. read more

Tonight, I worked late and didn't want to cook when I got home. I was walking to the train in Grand Central and saw a new Just Salad around 38th and 5th in Bryant Park. As I walked by given it is new the store was very inviting with a sparkly clean look. It was just 9pm and I thought they might be closed because there were 2 employees inside cleaning up. I thought I would give it a shot given all I eat is salad. To my delight the door was open and I asked the two employees, Bernadette and Miranda what time they close and they said 9pm and now it was 9:01 PM. Bernadette and Miranda could not have been kinder, friendlier or more professional. In short, they were AWESOME - give these ladies a raise. They helped me create a delicious and nutritious salad that I am eating while writing this review - MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Hats-off to wonderful employees and plan to go back for more scrumptious meals. read more

This is the place to go! I started solely going to just salad for lunch 2 yrs. ago, I go everyday. The food is great and the service is even better, especially at this location! The lines can get long, but some how they already know when come in. It's never longer than 8 mins wait, no matter how long the line is. The team is great, they amazing memories for orders and awesome personalities. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the 39th and 5th location!! read more
