Build your own

Came into Little Beet during the weekday lunch rush. The staff were still being trained on new menu items and needed the menu cards to keep the ingredients straight, but it didn't slow down service too much. I got a build your own and thought the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Didn't sit down in the restaurant, but it generally seemed clean and well-maintained and the AC felt great after walking outside. Would grab and go from here again!

A mixed bowl of stuff

My coworkers encouraged me to go here because it is close to my job. Like any place nearby I budget $20 for this excursion. To my surprise, it ran me below my expectations (~$14). But, depending on what you add, you can definitely get there. I ordered personalized bowl but there were some highlights. Beet Falafel: It has a denser texture to most traditional falafel. It's almost "meaty" but, relatively bland. It is a nice source of plant protein meatball. Spicy noodle salad: To be honest, I really liked this for all the wrong reasons. It was more acidic than spicy and I am sucker for vinegar. The noodles were nice and not overly soft. All in all, for the price, I would go again. It's nice place to get food. My only concern is that there is alot of salt so, be careful with the different sauces P.S: Just make sure to come before the lunch rush or order online.

Walked a ways to get here and I was pleased! The food in the assembly line looks fresh and well prepared. For some reason the staff didn't realize they were out of salmon when I asked and had to cook it right then which an inconvenience but I had time so it was fine. My order: Field Greens, charred zucchini, seared salmon (cooked perfectly), chickpea Greek salad & super seeds. Oh and I highly recommend trying the chimichurri sauce if you're ok with a strong garlic flavor !! It was also very nice to be able to sit and eat inside however I didn't see sanitation between visits and there was no access to hand sanitizer. Nevertheless I want to go back!!

One of my fav lunch places honestly. The sweet potatoes and avocado and sauces are all so good! I'm always happy and always have leftovers for dinner!

I have been able to try new restaurants all because new mealpal On this day, I decided to pick up the meal here after I saw the meal was jack fruit platter. I had only tried the bbq jack fruit which had a meat consistency once before and it was delicious. The place used local, seasonal and natural ingredients basically farm to table meals. It was located on W. 51 St by Park Ave (even though address is Park Ave). It has a door cover to prevent the whole restaurant from being cold. Came in and was looking for the QR cold. I noticed it was on the wall next to the meal. All the meals were made and stacked against the wall on the right hand side. You scanned and pick up the meal. The whole process was on the honor system. The dine-in seats are in the middle of the restaurant. This meal consists of organic quinoa, bbq jackfruit, charred onions, black beans, chipotle slaw, golden beets, sesame seeds, avocado, pickled onions, chipotle aioli (gf & vegan). This was delicious, filling and I couldn't believe it is vegetarian. Can't wait to try this again and other dishes.

Built my own bowl, the tofu, sweet potato, rice and chimichurri sauce was so good! Never heard of Little beets before but glad I tried it!

Ok so everyone that reads my reviews know that I am usually a carnivore so when I do venture into a salad or vegetarian friendly place, it's gotta live up to the hype. This place is fairly new to the hood and is already a very well run machine. Tried and true formula, you get on an assembly line ordering system - choose your salad base, the main ingredients and select toppings. I had the "healthy salad" on this visit and all the ingredients were very fresh. The citrus yuzu dressing gave it a nice sour and tart finish. I totally recommend. The ingredients are from locally sourced farmers and their motto is "what grows together goes together"...catchy. Everything did look fresh (even if my photos didn't show it) but I was rushing so couldn't do that and order at the same time. LOL Tips to share: the ingredients could be seasonal so don't expect it to always look the same. So on that note, if you have a favorite, check your local store location online first to see if it's available. And the menu is Gluten-Free.

The Quick: So many delicious healthy options! Lines shorter than most salad spots. Vegan options that are not just lettuce. The Details: Most healthy foods can be boring, but this spot is excellent with tons of lunch options. The line is never as crazy as some of its competitors in the area, and it's just more interesting. Sustainable ingredients you feel good about eating!! The Damage: Most lunches I get are around $9

sweet potatoes, broccoli rabe w' beans, beet hummus, superseeds - DELICIOUS!
Eunice K.

Pro tip, must order online if you're going during lunch rush. It's so quick to pick up your order if you order online instead of waiting on the super long line. I come here often for lunch and it's one of my favorite fast-casual places. The broccoli rabe and white beans is my jam. So is the bbq jackfruit (SO GOOD!), the sweet potatoes, beet hummus, charred broccoli, the list goes on. Need a bit of crunch in your life? Add the superseeds (or the superseed avocado if you're feeling fancy) and everything tastes that much better. Always looking forward to getting lunch from little beet!

Brussel Hustle

If you're looking for food that super healthy but tastes more flavorful than something that looks super healthy, The Little Beet is your place! The lunch crowd packs this place in but if you get here right at 12 or after 1, you're sure to move quickly through the line. I went with two coworkers/friends that had been before and was excited to try the Brussel Hustle. This salad is out of this world! Shaved brussel sprouts, over a bed of lettuce, seeds, avocado, pecorino cheese, pickled onions, chicken, the works! It was so good and so filling that I left half of it and totally forgot to take it home for later....Whomp whomp. They have one other salad that I believe is heavier on the avocado (I'm not the biggest avocado fan **I know what KIND of Millennial am I?!**) so I probably won't be trying that one. They also have a choose your own system where you pick and choose from proteins and sides and ultimately create a plate to your liking. The sweet potato mac & cheese and even the bbq tofu looked delicious. They also offer FREE water (unheard of in Manhattan) if you want to stay in but not buy one of the fancy overpriced drinks in the fridge. There's a few tables if you decide to stick around and eat but move quick once you finish since there's always a wait. I knocked off a star because of the prices. Look, I get it, it's the city. Yes, typically lunch is expensive 'round these parts. But $12 for a salad (which yes is filling and yes is quite delicious) is way too expensive. Will I come here in the future? Absolutely. Will it become a weekly lunch spot? Never. I'm grateful they offer the free water if you dine-in and the line does move quick and the employees are always in a good mood BUT the prices are ridiculous. I do love The Little Beet, though. Healthy food that's actually delicious? Sign me up.

I used to be a huge fan but the portions have gotten way too stingy to justify the price. Take your lunch money elsewhere!

(I know it's assumed that everything here is vegan but I can't help but clarify. ) For desert, I had the panna cotta and my bf had the chocolate hazelnut dome. This sandwich is usually not something that is available vegetarian so i was curious to see the flavors and textures. The steak is chewy and meaty so if you are not a fan of faux meat then i would proceed with caution. I enjoy the cheeses here as they are unique and different from each other. The sandwich overall was okay though not my favorite sandwich ever. - smoked Mac and cheese (7/10): macaroni with smoked goat cheese, cheddar, mozzarella baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with vegan pancetta and breadcrumbs. This was a cozy appetizer especially on a cold day. The flavors of the cheese are rich and smoky with a hint of saltiness from the pancetta and breadcrumbs. I would have liked it to be a larger portion and offered as an entree. WOULD I GO BACK? Maybe. I liked the ambiance and the option to try dishes that are usually meat heavy but the cuisine is not my personal favorite.

The space was super clean, calm, and had a vibe that felt authentic to the cuisine. The staff was also incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and fast, which made the whole experience even better. But the food is what really blew me away. I got the Korean Wild Green Tea First Picked, and it was unreal. Yes, it had that beautiful green tea character, but it was so much more layered than that--smooth, complex, almost naturally sweet, and honestly one of the most memorable teas I've had anywhere. I also ordered the iced matcha latte, and it was easily the best matcha latte I've ever had: no grittiness at all, just incredibly smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. We also had the baby dumplings in spicy sauce, popcorn shrimp, fried Manchurian cauliflower, spicy kimchi pancakes, Peking duck baos, and the duck rice bowl. Every single dish was excellent. I'm still baffled by how well they nailed the shrimp texture--seriously impressive. The flavors across the board were rich, creative, and satisfying without feeling heavy. If you're in Murray Hill and want a standout vegan lunch or dinner, or you're just looking for one of the best plant-based restaurants in Manhattan, Franchia is absolutely worth going out of your way for. Highly recommend.
