This restaurant had great Chinese food, and everything we ordered tasted great! We ordered family style entrees. We got shrimp fried rice, cumin fried chicken, string beans, and sweet sour fish soup. The spice level was good, not too spicy. Each entree had very good flavor. My favorite was cumin fried chicken. the chicken was tender and crispy on the outside. The beef over crispy rice was tasty, but the crispy rice gets soggy kind of fast - kind of wish they left it as separate components instead of doing the table-side pour over. Would probably favor ordering something else if we came back. Service was relatively quick. Came for lunch and there was no wait for a table. They also have a boba menu but I did not try it. This restaurant was highly recommended and with good reason. The dishes are flavorful without being overly salty. Although the restaurant is leaving this particular area, I'm sure they will reopen in another part of town. The current boiling is being demolished and shops with apartments above are coming in. Today was their second to last day in this building, and the lunch crowd arrived! I hope they find another place to conduct their business because it's a bustling one! Kung pai chicken, fish fillets and orange peel beef were or table choices. Each were delicious! A huge bowl of rice arrived for the table in addition to soup as an appetizer. I tried this place for the first time last night via DoorDash and was really happy with the items I ordered. I really really enjoyed the Dan Dan. The noodles were perfectly chewy. It was flavorful without being overly spicy. A good Sichuan Dan Dan noodles like it's supposed to be. 10/10 Ma Po tofu was fine too. Next time, I'll get it with the added pork. We asked for everything to be extra spicy but it was honestly very tolerable, so don't be afraid if you don't have super high spice tolerance. It looks a lot spicier than it actually is. A South Bay must-try for authentic Sichuan home-style cooking! Met a friend here and was glad we came -- the owner and chef are from Sichuan and the flavors feel very traditional. The Mapo Tofu is incredibly fragrant, not overly spicy, and perfect with rice (huge portion!). The stir-fried pork kidney was super fresh and tender, cooked over high heat and my personal favorite. The green peppercorn Mao Xue Wang has a nice numbing aroma without being too spicy and is packed with ingredients. We also enjoyed the crisp celtuce vegetable, a comforting pork rib & yam soup, and finished with sweet rice pudding and brown sugar rice cakes. I stopped by at JX cuisine for lunch on a weekday and got the crispy spicy chicken - I believe it might have been called the Chong Quing chicken or the Sichuan mala chicken. It had a great spice with that classic numbing flavor of the Sichuan peppercorns. The portions were large but this dish was not included with the lunch special so any accompanying rice would have to be ordered separately. I also ordered a scallion pancake which was a different texture than expected but the flavor was okay. I would recommend going with cash if you can based on the owner's recommendations. The flavor just hit the mark. Their SMOKED TEA DUCK is so DELICIOUS. According to the chef, the smoked duck was prepared and cooked for more than 10 hours. It was moist, tender, and the smokiness really gets into the bone. We love their TRIPLE DELIGHT RICE TREASURE. it was a mixed of seafood and vegetable gravy, poured on top of rice cracker. It's hard to find an authentic Szechuan place that gives friendly service to people who don't speak their language, but I think I finally found a solid choice! Located in the same plaza as Kyo Po Korean market, there's plenty of parking. Cozy yet spacious interior. Service was very prompt and friendly throughout entire meal. Everything we got was so flavorful and delicious. Dan Dan noodles was very saucy with hints of spice, big portion and overall highly recommend. The star of the night was the house special crispy spicy fish fillet - so crispy and flavorful on the outside with light and airy tender pieces of fish on the inside. We devoured this! Some of the best Sichuan food I've had in the bay area. Their version of mapo tofu has extra black bean flavor. It skews a bit on the saltier but the flavor is intense and you keep wanting more. The cumin fried chicken is kind of like laziji with much more cumin. The batter is incredibly crunchy. My only feedback is that its a bit thick. The boiled fish filet (it says hot sauce on the menu) came in a gigantic bowl. There was a good portion of fish. A mountain of bean sprouts was hidden under the fish, submerged in the broth. This dish is my favorite. way to have beansprouts, so I was stoked. The broth isn't too oily, so sipping the broth or having it with rice isn't going to make you feel gross. Their default level of spice isn't bad at all. You might be used to spicier if you'e eaten a ton of Sichuan food. The plaza is closing sometime early this year. I really hope they find a new location. Give them a try before they close! read more
