I came here with a party of 8 on a Saturday night. We came in an hour before they close but still got speedy and good service. Techno music was pumping in the background. We ordered a beef chow fun, a choy, cumin lamb, nap tofu, beef wraps, and combination fried rice to share family style. The chow fun is good and has good texture. The beef was tender and had a little kick. The cumin lamb also had a good crisp to it. The beef wrap was so much bigger than I imagined it to be. It was definitely the highlight for me. It had plenty of veggies (including whole green onion chunks) and plenty of beef. The a choy also felt pretty fresh. Finally, I really like how the fried rice had some pickled mustard greens. They gave fortune cookies at the end. The biggest downside about eating here is that basically everything is oily. My friend and I came over for an early dinner at around 4 pm on a Saturday and with the spacious seating inside, we got a table immediately. The ordering is pretty convenient where you place it with the QR code at the table and all our dishes came out almost simultaneously. A Choy - The perfect vegetable dish to balance between the richer dishes we ordered. It had a great garlic flavor and the vegetables were cooked well, soft while keeping a crunchy texture bite to it. Pork & Cabbage Dumplings - We ordered the classic combination of pork and cabbage and it did not disappoint. The dumplings were pretty large and were piping hot as well as juicy on the inside. It was elevated by the vinegar chili oil sauce on the side which gave it a slight kick and sourness. Tidu Sliced Beef Pot - I was a little worried this would be too spicy but it was a good balance with the spice and had a slight sourness. The meat and fishballs were my favorite, coated in their rub. My friend highly recommended this place because of the quality of food and the very affordable prices which I agree with after trying these dishes. I've eating Home Eat serval times at the Great Mall location. The Santa Clara location was the first time I sat down and ate the food super fresh. The portions are huge and come out piping hot. Service is also very fast and for a weekday night I was seated very quickly. All the dishes were packed with flavor and went great with rice. There was a mild amount of parking outside of the restaurant, and the interior was clean with a sleek, monochromatic ambiance. Although Home Eat is designed moreso for group meals (like most Chinese restaurants tend to me), there was no awkwardness that came from the fact that I came alone. The waiter was relatively friendly, and I noticed that there was also a robot that was also delivering food to people. Since I was only one person, I decided to get the Beef Chow Fun. It tasted good and I was able to eat the entire sitting on my own, which I'm not sure is really sad or really impressive. When I visited, I saw a wedding reception taking place in the banquet hall. You order online, which is very convenient. I did not try a single bad dish here. Looking through the menu, I'm doubtful there are any bad dishes. Each dish was packed with food and flavor. I was particularly impressed with their spicy pepper chicken wings. There was a whole mountain of them, and each wing was covered in mala spice. The Yunnan seafood rice noodle soup was another tasty option, filled with chewy noodles, plenty of seafood, and an umami broth. Visited Home Eat for the first time on NYE! We were looking for a filling meal to kick off the new year. When you enter, you can either order takeout at the two ordering kiosks or you can dine in. They seated us immediately at a huge booth. All the tables have a receptacle for plates, chopsticks, spoons, ladles, bowls, and napkins. Super convenient! There's also a sauce station that also has takeout containers for when you're done. I really appreciate when restaurants make the small things available for self serve. It puts less stress on the staff and allows the customer to do things at their own pace. The menu is HUGE and we kinda had a hard time deciding what to get. We ordered a feast to try some of everything. Pickled chicken feet, spicy pig ears, fried fish, spicy beef stew, their classic sticky chicken wings, and some pork & chive dumplings. The chicken wings were my absolute favorite. The sauce clung to the chicken perfectly. They were piping hot when they come out and ridiculously tender. I would come back just for the wings and maybe try another noodle dish. The beef stew was the second runner up for me. It was actually pretty intense with the spice which is exactly what we wanted. We were also so surprised by the generous portion of meat that was in the bowl. The food comes out super fast, but while you wait, there's plenty of TV to watch in the meantime if you're not up for talking, because it is a bit loud inside. Mass confusion for a small order I called in for Christmas Day. I called in an order for pickup for noon Xmas day and was told since I ordered the small tray, I could pay at time of pickup. Plans changed and I called a couple days after to change to a 11:15 am pickup and they basically demanded I pay at the moment. Uh ok. She texted me the link to pay that didn't work (twice). Home Eat deserves five stars for their Classic Fried Chicken Wings alone. Coated with an incredible sweet & savory glaze, they always come out incredibly fresh and it's hard for me to stop myself from eating the whole plate. Thankfully the excellent food doesn't stop there as their Combination Chow Mein, Taiwanese Fried Pork Chop, and Beef Wrap have all become must-haves for me. The atmosphere isn't the most cozy, but the service has always been excellent and incredibly fast which is nice when you are stopping in for a quick lunch or dinner. They've even given us free small portions of cake for dessert after our meal each time we've been which has been greatly appreciated and shows they go above and beyond. The final big plus of Home Eat is the price, as they are noticeably cheaper than other Chinese restaurants in the area when you compare the price dish-to-dish. Not only is the food excellent but you feel like you're getting a great deal which always helps you to leave the restaurant a little happier.
