Combination Fried Rice This wasn't a bad fried rice at all. It had all the ingredients I enjoy: peas, carrots, egg, pork, and more. The rice itself wasn't mushy, and the portion size was generous. However, it was a little on the oily side and lacked that flavorful aftertaste you usually want from a good fried rice. Still, it was an enjoyable dish overall. Hot Pot Nothing too special about this one. As you can see, there was a good amount of vegetables and a decent amount of meat. Most of the ingredients were the traditional hot pot items you'd typically find at shabu restaurants. I just wish there was more meat included. The soup base wasn't overly spicy but had a decent kick to it. Personally, I wouldn't order this dish again. Honey Walnut Shrimp This was probably the best dish out of the three. The walnuts tasted fresh, the shrimp was fried nicely, and the vegetables underneath weren't overly soggy. The only downside was the honey mayo sauce -- it leaned a little too sweet, which could be overpowering for some people. Other than that, I wouldn't mind ordering this again. Home Eat came up on Yelp with such a high rating, so we decided to give it a try. The crab was pretty small, so that dish was a little underwhelming, although the flavor was good. The lobster noodles and Mongolian beef were both just okay. I was thinking about checking out a different Chinese restaurant today but after reading a bunch of glowing reviews from you Yelpers about this place I changed my mind and headed over here. They have a private medium sized parking lot which was pretty empty when we arrived at 4:40 pm "when we left at 5;50 pm it was jam packed" Walking up I noticed that they had call to order pictures on the outside wall and when we walked in there were " tastefully done," scrolling digital call to order pictures everywhere of their food as well as call to order signs. We were seated right away by their staff (the staff here are fantastic) I asked a few questions on our selections as a couple of our selections had multiple choices. As we were ordering a robot passed by our table "see video" I thought it was hilarious. We ordered the combination fried rice, the pork and chicken wonton soup, and the honey walnut shrimp. They gave us water and a pot and Jasmine tea with our food. $58 for said food. The amount of food they gave us was... well.., way way more than wifey and I both expected "again see pictures" The food: The Wonton soup: while it did not taste like the (American style Chinese wonton soup) it was really really good! Dare I say excellent? 5 stars. The combination fried rice: Now I'm that guy who puts gallons of sweet-and-sour on my fried rice and actually pored one package of it on, after I pored it on I realized that this fried rice is so good that the sweet-and-sour actually ruined its flavor! Needless to say I didn't put anymore on. Their combination fried rice gets 5 stars. The honey walnut shrimp: The batter was nice and crispy but the flavor was a little off for my taste, while it was good, it wasn't great. 2.5 stars "lands right in the average area of taste" will I order it again? The ordering is pretty convenient where you place it with the QR code at the table and all our dishes came out almost simultaneously. A Choy - The perfect vegetable dish to balance between the richer dishes we ordered. It had a great garlic flavor and the vegetables were cooked well, soft while keeping a crunchy texture bite to it. Pork & Cabbage Dumplings - We ordered the classic combination of pork and cabbage and it did not disappoint. The dumplings were pretty large and were piping hot as well as juicy on the inside. It was elevated by the vinegar chili oil sauce on the side which gave it a slight kick and sourness. Service is also very fast and for a weekday night I was seated very quickly. All the dishes were packed with flavor and went great with rice. Wanted to get some Chinese food and this was the best place that popped up. There was a mild amount of parking outside of the restaurant, and the interior was clean with a sleek, monochromatic ambiance. Although Home Eat is designed moreso for group meals (like most Chinese restaurants tend to me), there was no awkwardness that came from the fact that I came alone. The waiter was relatively friendly, and I noticed that there was also a robot that was also delivering food to people. Since I was only one person, I decided to get the Beef Chow Fun. It tasted good and I was able to eat the entire sitting on my own, which I'm not sure is really sad or really impressive. The decor is extremely simple because the main star of the restaurant is the incredible food. There's a main hall with lots of tables and also a banquet hall across the restaurant. When I visited, I saw a wedding reception taking place in the banquet hall. You order online, which is very convenient. I did not try a single bad dish here. Looking through the menu, I'm doubtful there are any bad dishes. Each dish was packed with food and flavor. I was particularly impressed with their spicy pepper chicken wings. There was a whole mountain of them, and each wing was covered in mala spice. The Yunnan seafood rice noodle soup was another tasty option, filled with chewy noodles, plenty of seafood, and an umami broth. I also enjoyed every bite of the chicken chow mein, with plenty of toppings and a savory sauce. The prices were super good given all the food I got. Mass confusion for a small order I called in for Christmas Day. I called in an order for pickup for noon Xmas day and was told since I ordered the small tray, I could pay at time of pickup. Plans changed and I called a couple days after to change to a 11:15 am pickup and they basically demanded I pay at the moment. Uh ok. She texted me the link to pay that didn't work (twice). Noon rolls around and I get a text my order is ready. Then a phone call. Then a text to pay. I called back and told him I already picked up my order. Visited Home Eat for the first time on NYE! We were looking for a filling meal to kick off the new year. When you enter, you can either order takeout at the two ordering kiosks or you can dine in. They seated us immediately at a huge booth. All the tables have a receptacle for plates, chopsticks, spoons, ladles, bowls, and napkins. Super convenient! There's also a sauce station that also has takeout containers for when you're done. I really appreciate when restaurants make the small things available for self serve. It puts less stress on the staff and allows the customer to do things at their own pace. The menu is HUGE and we kinda had a hard time deciding what to get. We ordered a feast to try some of everything. Pickled chicken feet, spicy pig ears, fried fish, spicy beef stew, their classic sticky chicken wings, and some pork & chive dumplings. The chicken wings were my absolute favorite. The sauce clung to the chicken perfectly. They were piping hot when they come out and ridiculously tender. I would come back just for the wings and maybe try another noodle dish. The beef stew was the second runner up for me. It was actually pretty intense with the spice which is exactly what we wanted. We were also so surprised by the generous portion of meat that was in the bowl. Home Eat deserves five stars for their Classic Fried Chicken Wings alone. Coated with an incredible sweet & savory glaze, they always come out incredibly fresh and it's hard for me to stop myself from eating the whole plate. Thankfully the excellent food doesn't stop there as their Combination Chow Mein, Taiwanese Fried Pork Chop, and Beef Wrap have all become must-haves for me. The atmosphere isn't the most cozy, but the service has always been excellent and incredibly fast which is nice when you are stopping in for a quick lunch or dinner. They've even given us free small portions of cake for dessert after our meal each time we've been which has been greatly appreciated and shows they go above and beyond. The final big plus of Home Eat is the price, as they are noticeably cheaper than other Chinese restaurants in the area when you compare the price dish-to-dish. Not only is the food excellent but you feel like you're getting a great deal which always helps you to leave the restaurant a little happier.
