Assorted BBQ skewers (Fish Tofu, Chicken Soft Bone, Shiitake Mushrooms), potato slices, and baked rice cake

The 3 dishes I would say are the standout star dishes (especially delicious) of my Friday night dinner were 1) Lamb Kebab/skewers (spicy and very flavorful) Excellent 10/10 2) Pork Rib soup (very warm and comforting) 3) Dessert (stewed pear with rock sugar) Also good were the potato slice and fish tofu and chicken soft bone

Hot dry noodles and beef, pork, quail egg, fish tofu skewers

Food was great and service was very fast. Feels like a very authentic Chinese restaurant and staff were very friendly

Pretty decent chinese bbq place in the same plaza as Top Cafe and The Brit. Tbh, growing up in Cupertino, I never knew this place existed. The sizes of the meats on the skewers were sufficiently large and tasty. The noodles were also flavourful, and some good sized pot stickers. I liked the pickled cucumbers. The service can be a bit... not as smooth... if you don't really speak chinese. Luckily my party speaks decently enough to get by. It ended up being a little more expensive than expected, but I'd definitely return as the food was tasty.

So authentic. Love this place. My friend brought me here and the following weekend I came back with my husband to enjoy these tasty skewers again. Soooo good! Suggest to order the veg: long beans and chives too, underneath the skewers they're even more tasty!

Hankow Cuisine has been a hit and miss the multiple times I've been here. Sometimes the skewers are juicy, sometimes it's tough. In general, the lamb skewers here are better than the beef skewers. Tendon was bland. The hot dry noodle is always good, simple and the peanut sauce is tasty. Beef noodles are average. Make sure to call in advance to order, to prevent a long wait! Food takes about 10-20min to be ready.

Hankow specializes in Chinese skewers. They have an assortment of meat, from normal lamb or beef to more exotic snail meat and gizzards. Must Try: - Pork Rib Soup: This is one of my favorites and it's only $10 for a giant bowl of noodle and soup! The flavor is excellent. I always get clear noodles with this. There is a good amount of pork with the soup. Love this! - Scallops: Scallops come by the half dozen. It is delicious and flavorful. There is a generous helping of garlic for each scallop. I like to take the noodles from the pork rib soup and put it in the scallop shells. BBQ: After coming here many, many times, I have calculated a perfect ratio for hungry people. For skewers, I usually order ((#of people) - 1)* 10. - If you're looking for something chewy, get the chicken hearts and gizzard. - Fish balls taste amazing. I recommend trying this. - If there are lamb lovers at the table, order more lamb than beef. The lamb tastes very good. - Quail eggs are not worth it. - Enoki mushroom always tastes like dirt, not sure why. - The stinky tofu is not stinky and has a very mild, mediocre flavor. - Chicken is okay. - Though I think the mild is quite spicy, I like to order that anyways, because it adds flavor to the skewers. The servers are quick about replenishing your water. Looking for a change of flavor: - Cucumbers: The cucumber dish is very refreshing, especially after you order a ton of meat. It cleanses your palette. I love coming here. The food is comforting and authentic.

Pretty good variety of things to try on a skewer. The seasoning is very cumin dominant with some red chili powder for spice. All of the skewers had this seasoning and tasted similar. The noodle bowls were definitely a good "palate cleaner" between rounds of skewers. Great for family style with multiple people so you can try many dishes. The interior is cozy and the tables are a bit small

Really wanted to have some authentic Chinese street style bbq, and tried this place. I felt it's more like Hubei-style street food fusion. The bbq tasted pretty bland and the meat cut was dried. The bean curd snack and grilled yellow croaker fish were good. And there were lots of items out of stock when we tried to order so...

I ordered through DoorDash and the food was quickly prepared. The bag was missing the order of oysters and scallops, we have to checked the bag to realize it and go back to ask for it. The lady had no reaction and simply walked off to get the food in the kitchen and gave it to us with no apologies. The food got cold by the time we came back, it was mediocre. I was looking forward to the oysters, but it just tasted like steamed oysters with big chunks of garlic on top(flavorless). I had a better experience when I dined in before, and it could have done better this time.

I have visited this restaurant for years , and the food quality has been very consistent. It has a unique taste of peppercorn oil and chili powder. Very tasty. They'd apply the same seasoning over the variety of proteins and veggies. They also serve noodles and beers. I'm quite fond of the place because compared to other kebab places nearby, their price is unbeatable over the years even though price has increased. Very nice staff and the interior has been renovated recently.

Quarantine Eats #64: A must try spot for lamb skewers! Came here on a Friday evening for takeout and the pickup process went without a hitch. The lamb skewers were still seasoned well and not tough to chew despite being eaten to go, and the BBQ bread (kao man tou) was a nice starchy compliment to the skewers (albeit being soggy from oil at the bottom). The rice noodles are also a fantastic meal for a cold winter's dinner, with the chicken soup clay pot soup providing a hearty and comforting finisher to the meal. Would definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys chinese kebabs!

The best skewer to order here is the stinky tofu in my opinion. Some other skewers I recommend are lamb, king oyster mushroom, gizzard, corn, and fish balls. The beef was a bit too dry and chunky for me. It's probably healthier for you since it isn't as fatty but I don't prefer it. The lamb was juicier and more flavorful. I think I'd come back here for the stinky tofu though since it's harder to find at other locations. I also ordered the hot dry noodle which was simple but good, pretty much what I expected. The portion was pretty large.

Hankow serves authentic Chinese BBQ skewers and an assortment of noodle dishes. I stopped here after class one night hoping to grab some food to take home so I didn't have to deal with cooking since it was late. The food was overall just okay, a lot of the things I got did not contain that great of a flavor hence the 3 stars as taste is my number one factor. The other good thing is that the portions are pretty large compared to Chinese street skewers and their skewers are not as burnt as those I remember getting. I got the following: Good: 1. Angus beef skewer: this was my first skewer and I thoroughly enjoyed it Big chunks of beef, seasoned and grilled perfectly, had a charcoal taste and overall delicious. 2. Shrimp: one big shrimp on a skewer. I felt as though this one was a little pricey as it was just one shrimp on a skewer for like $2 but the freshness and taste of it was good so I guess it made up for it Not so good: 3. Turkey gizzard: tasted fine, chewy and tastes as expected of gizzards, probably would not get again. 4. Chicken wings: comes with two per order, grilled well but highly disappointed as I figured this would be the easiest one to make tasty. Had a charcoal taste but was overall very bland. 5. Snails skewer: Thought this one was unique and it was what I imagined. Lacked 6. Beef Tendon: first bite was fine as it had good flavor but easily got tiring. 7. Dry noodles: very salty and lacked the scallion and flavor of a good scallion dry noodle. I would come back and give it another try but now I know what to get and what not to get

    Oyster, bon, lamp and beef.

The cornbread comes with the platter. Ribs were St. Louis style with the bits of cartilage at the end that I really love to chew on. Meat was delicious and fall off the bone. Bbq sauce is ok the sweet side by balances well with a few drops of hot sauce. Portions are very health. The beans were delicious and almost reminded me of chili. Mac and cheese was on point. Overall I highly recommend checking them out. Whether you are in the area or just looking for a great bbq joint in the bay, Jackie's place won't disappoint. For the vegetarians, try their jackfruit "pulled pork" bowl! Also their desserts selection is amazing. Will have to come back to try their peach cobbler and lemon pie!

The location that we went to is located next to Maggiano's Little Italy in Santana Row on Olin Ave. There is a free 2 hour parking structure across of the restaurant where my boyfriend and I parked at. We came during their Lunch Specials (until 4pm) and Happy Hour (from 3-5:30pm) which worked perfectly as we wanted something smaller in portion compared to the dinner portions. We started off with drinks. I got their Pig Ol' Bitties Blonde Ale, and my boyfriend got their Friday Beer & Shot special of This Little Piggy Went to [Mark]et with a 16 oz Dirty Little Pig IPA and a shot of Benchmark whiskey. My fault for having him get a whiskey shot on an empty stomach, though HAHA. He did like how smooth the whiskey was at least! We shared a 2-meat BBQ Lunch Combo Plate, and honestly, we should have gotten 3 meats because of how tender and delicious everything was! We got their Tri Tip and Sliced Brisket with their Garlic Mash and server recommended Sweet Potato Tots. Ahhh, everything was so good! Aside from the tender, flavorful meats, the two sides, especially the garlic mash, were sooooo good. We both loved everything! It was definitely a great choice coming during lunch as we were quite full after ordering one of their happy hour shareables of Chips & Queso (kind of pricey even for happy hour in my opinion for chips and cheese). Honestly wished we got their Chili Cheese Fries or their other fries which were the same price than just chips and dip LOL. But it was a good hold over food with us drinking a bit (at least for me). Shoutout to the only server who was working on a late Friday afternoon as she was doing her best to accommodate everyone + trying to clean up the previous tables. It was kind of sad seeing that the other workers didn't help bus the tables in my opinion. Overall, a great place to watch sports and have some good whiskey as this restaurant is known for their whiskey selections! The lunch BBQ exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely come back for another lunch special meal but probably with 3 meats this time!

I've been to 3 others Redwood City BBQ, South Winchester BBQ (San Jose), and Canyon's BBQ (Castro Valley) and I've reviewed most of those quite favorably, except for 1. But they have about 4 others that I haven't been but are on my list. I guess now I'll know they are more the same than they are different. I knew walking in that I was going to like it. A strong aroma of wood smoke hugs you upon entering. A cool mural outside, lots of beers and bbq on the tables, cool tunes that was all over the place genre wise. 2 Meat Combo ($26/4.5*) Crazy solid combo. Not as juicy as I would prefer but between the perfect smoke content and their seasoning just makes me happy enough. Brisket: Their brisket is awesome. Not as juicy as some of the top notch places here in the Bay, but the flavor was perfect for me. Assertive smokiness without being overbearing. Get a piece with a good layer of fat and it was basically hearty beef bacon. I rarely put sauce on brisket but theirs is not bad, maybe just a dot or 2. Ribs: Also drier than what I like but the flavor and meaty texture was enough for me. Definitely have to pull these off the bone a bit, does not easily fall off, which I actually prefer. I like toothsome versus mushy meat. These ribs do have a layer of bbq sauce cooked into them, so it has a sweet and tangy flavor already in it. But they still can accept extra sauce, as it will not only moisten the ribs further but it will amp up the tang and sweetness that pork ribs are natural for. Tried 2 sides, beans and coleslaw. The beans aren't the super sweet kind, which I liked. More chili-like very hearty and complimenting to the smoky bbq. The slaw was perfect, crisp with a creamy yet slightly sweet dressing. Crazy good, I could actually eat their sides alone as a meal. Their corn bread here is strange. It is cooked in a sheetpan and cut into squares much like a brownie. But that square is then griddled til golden brown so I totally thought it was garlic bread at first. The other bbq spots I tried from this same company didn't make corn bread like that, so this was a first for me. Probably the only miss for me here. Also tried a half pound of Tri Tip ($20/4*) Very meaty that they were able to keep it a nice pink medium, which I like. But much milder in smoke than their brisket and ribs. I ended up making sandwiches with these at home. They are sliced pretty thick so you may have to slice some of them further. It bites easier in thinner slices versus monster thick slices that will pull out of the bread with each bite. I learned that on this out so just throwing out a tip. A solid bbq throwdown with a cold frosty one, plus lots of leftovers for work lunches the next few days, is just an out I can repeat over and over. Glad I found this spot!

The Porterhouse was solid: balanced seasoning, clean grill flavor, no unnecessary tricks. A lot of restaurants can do a good Porterhouse because the cut already has drama -- bone, fat, tenderness, presentation. But Sirloin is different. Sirloin exposes the kitchen. Especially that strip of fat running along the edge. If the grill work is careless, that fat becomes chewy, greasy, or wasted. Henry's handled it beautifully. The meat stayed true medium rare, while the fat edge was properly rendered, lightly charred, and full of beef aroma. That is real steakhouse skill. Medium rare lean meat plus properly rendered sirloin fat is not automatic. It takes timing, fire control, and experience. The baked potato was simple and correct. The salad was classic old-school steakhouse style. Dark beer still feels like the right companion here. Henry's is not trying to become trendy. It is not chasing presentation. People come here to eat steak, drink beer, and trust the kitchen. Prime Rib is still the ritual. But this visit proved something important: Henry's is not only a Prime Rib place. They know beef. - Dr. C Fire controlled. Fat rendered. Medium rare verified.

Favorite kbbq spot around!…read more But always a long wait, plan accordingly or else waitlist is full! Worth it though :)

Loved the japchae as it had flavor unlike other ACE shops where the japchae was flavorless. The side dishes were good. Liked the mashed potato salad, the bean curd strips. The cabbage salad could would have been better with more dressing. Also had the steamed egg which was just ok and the tofu stew with a really large shrimp in it and two big pieces of tofu. It was a bit spicy but overall, the spiciness was ok. Stew also had other seafood tidbits in it which is a surprise as other ACES only offer bits of meat. Stew is a must item. The waiters were fast in delivering meats, clearing empty dishes, clearing empty tables and setting them up for new occupants. I must say this is the first ACE that I have seen the servers were very motivated. However, what they probably forgot was to change our grilling tray but it was ok as we did not sear it black. Biggest surprise was the dessert of a scoop of strawberry ice cream with a. piece of fried banana. Never had any ACE given me dessert! The place was busy but the wait did not seem to be long even without reservations. Overall, this is a must return ACE!

Updating my review to add commentary about the catering for a party…read more It was an absolute crowd pleaser! I ordered ribs, brisket, chicken, potato salad, beans, Cole slaw, garden salad, and garlic bread. The favorite was the brisket but they truly loved every bit of it. Very impressed with the packaging and presentation. They were packing it up as I arrived and everything was hot and fresh. The staff were delightful and even helped load everything into my car. The portions were very generous and I felt a good value for the money. We were all very full and happy. Received many comments about how good it was. I will tell anyone looking to cater or serve a crowd to order BBQ Pit. I ordered using their website and it was incredibly easy to do, and appreciated the email confirmations and follow-up.

They also carry cans as well that are not listed and you can just grab it from the fridge and pay at the register. There is a good amount of seating inside and there are a few tables outside as well. I ordered my stout and i let it sit as the foam settled and realized that the pour did not fill up the glass. I let the staff know and they fixed the issue by topping off my drink. The staff are very friendly and understanding. During my first visit, we ordered the ribs and brisket as well as a tri tip salad. The brisket was very tender and juicy. I usually avoid ordering briskets since most BBQ places in San Jose that I've been to have made them very dry. There was only one piece that wasn't juicy which I expected since it had no fat on it. It was still tender and not dried out. The ribs were also good. It was tender and didn't stick to the bone as much but it wasn't as tender where it just slides off the bone. The seasoning on the ribs was neutral and the BBQ Pit have their own special bbq sauce (regular and spicy) which goes well with the meat. My wife ordered the tri tip salad and she enjoyed it. I stole some of her greens to balance the meat and beer and the veggies were fresh. The salad came with cornbread but I didn't try it. On my second visit, I decided to get the tri tip woith a side of baked potato and coleslaw. The baked potato was $3 extra. The tri tip had really good flavor and texture. It ripped apart easily when pulling. The coleslaw was ok. I might get the mac and cheese or beans next time. My wife ate the baked potato and ate most of it. I tried a little bit where it was just the potato and it was not overcooked and not too undercooked. It was easy to scoop with the fork without too much effort. If you are in the area and craving for BBQ, I highly recommend trying this place. The portion is not as big as BBQ joints in Texas or KC but they are on par with the ones around San Jose. The pricing is decent and like I mentioned, is also on par to San Jose pricing. If you have a big group, there are plenty of tables to accommodate folks. The location is close to the highway so that's a plus. The staff is very helpful and will give you a good recommendation if you are debating on what to order.
