Came here for takeout after the gym. (They are located around the corner from UFC). I ordered spicy chicken and spicy fried fish fillet. Flavors were spot on! The fish was very fresh and the batter had a nice crunch without being too doughy. I was a bit disappointed that the chicken was cut up chicken wings so there were bone fragments sometimes. Wow I hate leaving bad reviews, esp during the pandemic but I feel like I need to warn others. I ordered 3 dishes via doordash (see pic). The min I opened the food I knew something was off. There was this pungent smell - slightly sour and really 腥气 - I don't know how to say that in English but essentially like meat that's gone bad. Both the sweet and sour spare ribs (which did not have any sweet and sour flavor) and shredded pork with bean curd smelled like that. My partner ate some and confirmed. It was a really horrible nauseating smell. I even tried to rinse the ribs and recook it myself but it still tasted/smelled bad. We ended up throwing everything away and getting a refund from DD. We also ordered a fried cabbage for the first time - worst fried cabbage I've ever had from Sichuan restaurant. I couldn't believe how they f**k it up so badly. The husband found this place that opened around the corner for our place and I have been hooked since eating here. We have tried many dishes here none of them has disappoint so far. Try to come in a bigger group so you can try multiple items. You can come here and get the lunch special and try out different things. We like to come for dinner because its a little far drive from work to come here to eat. My favorite dish here has to be the spicy fish filet.... very tasty, spicy, and has a nice crunch. Just thinking about now is making drool and I crave this dish ever so often. The pork with dried tofu is also another one of our favorites. Strips of pork, dried tofu, and celery stir fried in a brown sauce. They offer this dish during lunch too. So if you come for dinner and you see it on the hot table, tell them you want fresh ones, because it will taste much better than the one that has been sitting there for who knows how long. If you like lotus roots, you have to try the lotus root in hotpot. My cousin loved that and that was one of the first dish we finished during that visit. We also had the green beans, other veggies dishes an other meat dishes. They were all good but the ones listed above were what I remember and stood out to me. I am still waiting to go there with a bigger group to try other items on the menu... but ordering the spicy fish filet is a must for me. During my recent trip to Ding's Kitchen, I ordered Chili-Fried Chicken Cubes ($12.95), Dry Fried Green Beans ($10.95), and a side of Steamed White Rice ($1.50). The chicken dish was essentially unseasoned chicken wings that were chopped in half and placed in a to-go box with a ton of dried chilies. Having ordered similar dishes (chicken and chilies) when I visited Chengdu, China, I had expected something more than what I was given -- I blame myself for not looking at the Yelp photos before I ordered this item. The green beans, while delicious, were way overpriced. It's not often you see a vegetable side dish cost $10.95, but again, it was delicious... As for the white rice, I was given a tiny box of rice for $1.50. The customer service, while slow, was okay. I visited on a slow night, so I didn't have to deal with the dinner rush. Since the woman who works at the front counter doesn't speak much English, you can just point to what you want on the menu, and she'll be able to put your order together. I'll probably stop by again and order something else in the near future. From what I saw during my visit, most people were ordering hot pot, which is what I'll try next time. read more

This is a very casual spot where you can get prepared food to go or seat yourself to order food. Most of the tables are large, shared tables like the ones in a food court, but there are a few booths. My friend and I came on a Wednesday at noon, and we had to walk up to someone to get a menu and let them know that we planned to dine in. The menu has many options at affordable prices, and for a party of two, we spent about $30 total. We ordered the spicy boiled fish and cubed fried chicken, and our food was ready in about 15 minutes. Spicy Boiled Fish (4/5): Large portion and delicious fish! This dish might look intimidating since it was covered in chili oil and red pepper flakes, but it wasn't that spicy and also didn't leave that numbing taste since there weren't many peppercorns. Cubed Fried Chicken (3/5): The fried chicken was good, but we didn't like how the pieces were prepared since it was difficult to eat. Instead of cubed, boneless chicken (which is how most restaurants seem to prepare this dish), they served chicken wings cut in a half. It was difficult to eat since each individual piece was mostly bone and also had some sharp edges. We wouldn't preferred the wings just left as a whole. Overall, food was good but don't expect great service since this is a more casual spot where your only interaction is ordering food. I'm not sure what it's like during dinner, but you might have to go up to someone to ask for a menu, and the tea is also self-serve (in the back of the restaurant). I came here for dinner with some friends on a Thursday evening. We were 4 hungry dudes so we ordered several dishes to try. With all the savory dishes you have to of course order a bowl of rice ($1.50/bowl). We ordered: [1] Fried green beans - This was very good and it's always nice to have some vegetables when eating Chinese food. [2] Beef chow fun - I didn't particular enjoy this dish. It was very oily and lacked what people call the "wok" taste. [3] Cubed fried chicken - My least favorite, it was kind of hard to eat because they cut a chicken wing in half horizontally and deep fry it. It's more work to eat around the bones and the lack of meat didn't make it feel worth it. My ex-friend ordered this so there goes my trust with him. [4] Shrimp, pork and chives dumpling - This was really good. Nicely filled dumplings and you can't really go wrong with this. [5] Spicy fish fillet - AMAZING and highly recommended. The seasoning is on point and it's not super spicy. SERVICE: Could be better, but it's not the worst. We still got our food and we weren't sure if the tea we were suppose to serve ourselves or they give to it. The tea pots are placed near the entrance. Overall I think this place is decent. Although I think the restaurant would function better as a to-go place as oppose to a sit down. The layout of the restaurant looks like it's design more for take out. Came here celebrating CNY with a couple of friends to dine at a restaurant but that wasn't a super packed place. Ding's restaurant worked out for all of us since it was conveniently open with no reservations and not as busy. We ordered numerous dishes but didn't have too many proud favorites. The most we enjoyed were the dumplings and beef pancake rolls. Which were entirely good. Due to the service, our food did take awhile but we were fine since most of the food came out one at a time. Ding's hot and sour soup was the worst I have ever tasted in my life. At most Chinese restaurants, I love hot and sour soup. I do not plan on returning. But for those who eat a lot of food at a modest price, and do not care about the food quality, Ding's Restaurant is a good choice, just not my preference. Employees are friendly.
