This week is Da Yolk cafe. While the food is gorgeous and delicious, it took 20 minutes to get our food because they forgot us, even though we checked on it several times.

Today's takeover restaurant was Chriche, and they were slaying with their regional slider/sandwich selection.

Their coffee is exactly how I like it--bold, smooth, creamy, and never overly bitter. My go-to is the Dirty Chai, hot or iced depending on my mood, and their cappuccinos are just as good. My son is all about the Polar Bear, and neither of us has ever been disappointed. The pastries and desserts are dangerous in the best way. The no-bake cookies are ridiculously good, and if they're running the buy two, get one free deal... good luck walking away with just one. One of my favorite things about this place is the atmosphere. There are plenty of seating options, people from all walks of life, and it's just a great place to slow down for a bit. I also love watching the baristas--they're fast, friendly, and somehow keep cranking out incredible drinks without missing a beat. They recently updated their menu, and I can't wait to go back and try the Southwest Bowl for breakfast. They also opened another business that's connected to the coffee shop on Cherry Street, which is fun to walk through while you're waiting for your drink. If you're looking for one of the best coffee shops in the Tulsa area, this place is absolutely worth the drive.

With it being Resurrection Sunday, they had a rush prior to my arrival so I had to request the table outside on the patio to be wiped off. Within a minute it was address. The Coffee house on Cherry Street lives up to its peaceful slow paced ambience. If your palate is looking for something sweet there is an extensive selection of baked goods.

The owner is incredibly nice. I got a lavender matcha with oat milk. The matcha is the real deal not the premade stuff like hot chocolate. Also, ordered a snickerdoodle latte for my wife. I dropped it off at school (she's a teacher) and she texted me a couple minutes after I left to say "yummm". Since it was an iced latte he gave me a separate cup with the ice, which was great because it didn't water down the latte before I got it delivered. The sausage roll was really good too. Almost like it was wrapped in biscuit instead of the kind of bread that is on them at donut shops. Full after eating that but had to take one bite of the peanut butter cookie. Perfect! Lots of space inside. Tastefully decorated with Tulsa/TU stuff. WiFi available. Small parking lot. Locally owned. Go support them. (Sorry I forgot pics)

I appreciate how easy it is to strike up conversation with the crew, as they make you feel like a regular even when you aren't able to make it as often as you want to. He whipped me up an Iced Matcha latte and sent me on my way. It was also busy that day but it still felt like the staff manages "game speed" as if they are never tied down by the crowd.

I ordered the Hunter, which comes with Rabbi's Pastrami, Russian Dressing, Swiss Cheese, and Sauerkraut. Typically this comes on Rye bread, but they'd run out by the time I got there. The Housemade Club was a fine replacement though! This sandwich was so good. The sauerkraut was a 10/10 and the house cured pastrami was extremely flavorful and filling. The sandwich options come in both 6oz and 12oz. I personally think the 6oz was more than enough! Each order comes with a pickle and chips. I ate half of my sandwich right away (amazing) and then half a little later. The pastrami and saurkraut are so juicy that it did make an impact on the bottom piece of bread, BUT I still ate every bite and would still highly recommend. Just keep in mind that it is best when eating soon after you've gotten your food! Either way, you'll need some napkins close at hand.

Kinda hard being a first visit. Went for brunch with daughter. It is exactly as others (Yelp,…read moreGoogle) have reviewed. It is strictly serve yourself. For us it took a bit to get use to even in the smallish area. It's arranged in a sort of circle -- staff and food in the middle and you walk around it, getting drinks, napkins, silverware, etc. The staff seemed nice enough, opposing other reviews. They gave us menus that we took to a table to look over. It was quite small. I didn't see pastry offerings, but it was our first visit. I want to see signs -- What it is & how much$. I hate it when grocery stores can't get their signage in line with their pricing. Honestly, I don't recall which sandwiches we ordered but we both had their house cured meat. She liked it, I didn't care for it. To me it was like Sunday beef roast on a sandwich. The little shopping area is really cute. We didn't have time that day to poke around. I hope this helps you navigate your visit. It's always a good idea to know what you're getting into. We'll go back, with better knowledge.
