We had an excellent experience with the lunch buffet today. Everything was very fresh tasting, hot and good. A huge basket of naan came with the buffet lunch and was the best I've ever had. As a matter of fact, this was the best Indian style food buffet I've had. I look forward to coming back to try kabobs and other menu items. Ambiance isn't great, but there is plenty of space, so it doesn't feel crowded. Everything was clean. This new location was a big step up from their place on West Capitol, and I was pleased to see a lot of customers, and this was on a weekday lunch time. I was not impressed; everything about this place was unfortunate. I went during lunch and ordered from the menu rather than tempting what was being offered for buffet. The chicken tiki masala wasn't cooked to spicy as I asked, the base being heavily canned tomato and mostly that alone - hardly enough chicken to share with my partner. The saag paneer was cold. My rice came from a steamer off the buffet table that was put in last on my order. Sadly, they were also out of carrot halwa which is most of the reason I go to Indian. Amazing buffet (less than 10 bucks). The naans, suji halwa, and channa (chikkar cholay) were the best. I live in San Mateo County. Whenever we are passing by Sacramento, we stop for lunch or dinner at Kabab Corner located at 1001 Jefferson Boulevard. The dishes are prepared very well and the food represents authentic cuisine of Lahore in Pakistan. The restaurant is run by a family and I have noticed that they do catering as well. The variety of dishes provide good flavor and taste. You cannot find a better place for authentic Pakistani food at a reasonable price anywhere in California. We recommend this restaurant highly. I wanted to love this place but it's awful. We got here and the place was empty. The employees were arguing in the front and they were putting together a huge catering order. The only waitress greeted us and was making small talk (some of which was extremely inappropriate) and wouldn't not leave us alone. After we got the food and sat down we waited a good 20 minutes before our water and naan got to the table. The food was pretty bad, the chicken tikki masala was extremely sweet and had too much cinnamon in it. They had cold veggie pakoras and the warming lights were off on all of the buffet dishes so everything was barely warm. They offer some Chinese food that is absolutely disgusting and interestingly constructed. Checkout took 5-10 minutes because of how slow the machine was and I just wanted to GET OUT OF THERE. This place is very good! I am not sure why some of the people have had such bad experiences but I have nothing but good things to say about it. Their tandoori chicken is solid, their bread is not too dry (I have seen them very dry over the years- almost crunchy), and their service is average: courteous and friendly. Granted, it does not have a huge selection of food at buffet time, they are pretty cheap and I certainly like spending my money here than getting something at mcdonald or elsewhere. People are nice but food tasted a day old and the weird guy who stands in the front is constantly itching himself all over his body as he touches the food,money, himself and probably everything else in the kitchen. Greeting me when I drove up to this newly opened Pakistani restaurant were the children of the owners playing outside. They waved and the parents invited me in. Inside, I found a very clean, neat dining room with a good choice of items in the buffet. I tried everything and found each dish delicious. I found the food similar to Afghan and Indian food in the choices of dishes, but the spices were quite different. I particularly like the "slow burn" in some of the spicier items. A "slow burn" occurs when I eat something, notice the spiciness, but a few minutes later my mouth is on fire. Fortunately there is a delicious flat bread to put out the fire. A great plus for Kabab Corner is the buffet is open on weekends. Even better, the price is the same as during the week. A locally owned, family run business is always my top choice. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Went here a couple weeks ago because all the usual delicious buffets were already closed for the Sunday afternoon. So when I called and they were open I thought how bad could it be?? Oh boy. Not just bad but terrible. Disgusting. The so-called buffet consists of about 5 items which includes a stale dessert. Every dish was horrible even the hard crusty pieces of naan they bring you. Not surprisingly, we all felt a little ill a few hours after eating here. Nothing was fresh. Stay away. Far far away. This is the worst indian restaurant I have tried, and I love indian food!! The curry sauces were very runny, and it looked like they hadn't filled or replenished the buffet in awhile, this was especially disappointing since we went for the dinner buffet which was more expensive. We had been wanting to try kabob corner because we would pass by it all the time on the way home. A friend had told us to stick with pooja (which by the way is superb!!) but we gave in and finally tried it one night after getting in late from work and being really hungry! The location is off the main drag in West Sac, in a not so elegant building. The interior is humble, the service is slow, but the warmth is like home. A good home. Having driven by Kabob Corner many times and noticing that they offered lunch and dinner buffet, I decided to try it out one night. When we walked in, there were only two other occupied tables. My first initial observation was that it looks like it's a family owned and run restaurant (support local business!). The restaurant itself was much bigger than I thought. After we were led to our table, we immediately went to the buffet line. The buffet didn't offer much selection to choose from. Thankfully, there was chicken tikka masala. Another thing I noticed was that they don't put that much food out since there probably wasn't too much patrons here that night, which is a good thing cuz they're not making a whole bunch and wasting it. While the buffet failed to "WOW" me, I would like to give Kabob Corner one more try. This time, I will be ordering off their menu because judging from the other reviews, the kabobs do sound really bomb right about now. read more

I have eaten at many indian Pakistani restaurants and I must say that the food here at Kabob Corner is the FRESHEST. For this reason. So, now this restaurant is my primary "go to" place for Indian Pakistani food. The chicken biriyani, included in the buffet, does taste like Chicken Biriyani unlike elsewhere in Natomas where there is no meat in it and then eventually, the guy told me to take tandoori chicken if I want chicken to eat with Biriyani. I guess he did not know I am Indian descendant myself and I found it offensive that he said that to me. But Natomas area is expensive and so they cannot afford to do like here at Kabob Corner I guess. read more

Our family drove from Arden to West Sac to visit Kabab Corner frequently, the food is decent for the price, it's all you can eat dinner for $11.99, however tonight they were catering and hosting a party and cooked up a storm but didn't want to bring out any more food for the buffet. We asked the ladies there about three times to bring two specific dishes, the goat curry and tandoori chicken and they said they would, but didn't. We sat and waited for another hour and watched tons of food trays come out as the buffet area went empty. A family came shortly after and asked if more food would come out, the ladies lied to us and the other family. The other family looked upset since there was hardly any food there as well. As we went to pay I asked the clerk what time they usually close and their hours are until 9pm. I asked why they didn't bring more food out for the buffet she stated that because they were cooking for the parties they decided not to bring out more food and that we were their last customers and were only taking Togo order. I would have appreciated it if they had told us that instead of allowing us to wait an hour for nothing. The service is friendly but they seem kinda racist since they gave excellent service to their own kind and started ignoring other customers there. It's safe to say we will not return. read more

Finally had to try it since my favorite eating places were all closed on a Sunday. What a treat! Ambiance was less than exciting but food was delicious. We had the buffet for just $7.99. Not too many choices but enough to fill you. Since it is Pakistani food, there was beef which was delicious. The food is spicier than I've had at other Indian restaurants but not so bad that you didn't enjoy the food. Tikka Masala and Chicken Chilli was excellent. But what I enjoyed the most was the Kheer (cardamon flavored rice pudding). It was flavorful and really topped off the meal. I've had this at other places but this was the best I've tasted. Absolutely the worst Indian buffet I have ever been to. Not only is the selection scarce, half of the food that was supposed to be there was empty. Usually I am used to having mint and plum sauce to eat naan with, they didn't have either one, they offered sweet and sour sauce I was starting to wonder if I was at a Chinese restaurant. It was the first Indian buffet I've been to where I had to pay for rice pudding and it had no flavor. I wouldn't recommend this place if it were the last Indian restaurant on earth. I've been a regular here for a while now. Normally, my family and I have had great service along with awesome food. Unfortunately, yesterday was an exception, and will be the last time we support this business. When we got there, the food options for the buffet were very limited, and looked like they were ready to be replaced with a new batch of offerings. My brother had asked if they would be bringing out more items, to which the two ladies up front stated yes. We decided to try what was left of the buffet, knowing that they would be replenishing the food items. Mind you, it was only 6:00 p.m., and per the sign, the buffet was open til 9 p.m. After the first round of food, another small family came in and ordered the buffet as well. By this time, we had already been waiting for 30 minutes for more food to come out. Both families asked if more food would be made. They said they were, and that they were almost done cooking up a fresh batch. After another 30 minutes, they began dismantling the buffet equipment. They mentioned that they were hosting a party and no more food would be made, which contradicted what was previously told to us. Had we known they were not replenishing the buffet, we would have chosen a different place that night. I completely understand the business situation in hosting an event. However, they could have told us the truth from the beginning. I would have rather been disappointed to travel here and be turned away for the event, than eating the minimal food they had remaining, and being lied to, by the staff stating that more food would come out. Again, we were regular customers! I would normally give businesses a second chance after a bad experience, but this experience is the reason we will never go back. read more

My friend took me here a while back. It was the first time I had had Indian food. The place was a bit dark, but quiet. The lights were a bit dim. The room was filled with traditional wallpaper and furniture. I love trying new food and I was impressed! The waitress was nice and friendly. If I remember, we ordered naan bread with garlic and onions. It was so good! I think we also ordered chicken and bread with different sauces. Hi, my co-worker and I stopped by this place last week located in the front of the Reno Club on West Capital Avenue sort of across the street from Togo's on the North side of the street. I believe the sign says Indian and Pakistani food but it all looks like Indian food to me. Anyways this place is a buffet and was 7.99. There were about 7 different entrees which I thought were fine. The guy working there said the food rotates daily so some dishes will repeat while some new ones appear maybe other days. We were the only people eating there but a few customers came in to get take out. Not much business but the place does not look like a restaurant from the outside. It probably is the front part of the Reno Club with a wall built in between the two places. There are about maybe 10 tables and a TV to watch while you are eating. The TV was on a foreign news station in Urdu (according to my Indian friend) but you can figure out what they are talking about . . . sort of . . . The place is cash only so be prepared. The place is not all that pretty but the food was fine. I could go back if asked but probably would not go again by my choice. Now the food was fine; the place just needs a little sprucing up. I was excited to try Pakistani restaurant with one my best friends who is Pakistani and recommended this place. I quickly recognized all the dishes as those I was familiar with in the Indian food setting, which I love! Same curry chicken, Tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, etc. Always nice to try all the different dishes in buffet style. I was especially impressed by the spicy goat curry, which I expected to be gamey but was actually super tender and without any after taste. Those looking for super spicy would likely be disappointed, but the spice level is perfect for those with milder tastes. The naan (both garlic and regular) was some of the best naan I've ever had! The rice pudding dessert was also super tasty. For ~$10 for buffet dinner, Kabab Corner was a very good value and delicious. read more
