Burnt, dry and old chicken 3. Chicken Bone in Kabob
Reema A.

I ordered two lunch specials - biryani and chicken kabob. Here were the issues: 1. They didn't provide rice or bread with chicken. It was just chicken and chickpeas 2. Chicken was old, smelled and was super dry 3. Chicken biryani was not biryani- they used yesterday's chicken gravy and mixed it up with rice to make chicken biryani - tasteless and again chicken was not fresh. Even egg seemed it was boiled 2 days ago 4. Worst chickpeas I have ever had

Watered. down sauces- we were so unhappy

Used to be our go to for "Butter Chicken." Yesterday, we ordered, and the servings of their food were so small. So embarrassing for a $15 - $20 dish. Well, the Buttered chicken taste is still good, however, we will not come back. We will try to make our own as good from now on. Costco carries a brand of buttered chicken sauce that, if you add heavy cream, will taste the same. Homemade and cheaper. Kabob and chicken, please look at your portions, or you will continue to lose customers. Even your sauce are watered down. I will go to Dulles Mall for their Kabob. Their sauce tastes good, and the servings are better.

Extremely disappointed. 5. Lamb Kabob

If I could give negative stars I would. THIS was $20. Tiny portions with 5 little pieces of meat. Extremely disappointing. Save yourself the trouble

Small hole in the wall that packs a big taste. Food: 4 stars Service: 5 stars With an unassuming exterior and the gyro lunch special signs, I almost walked past...straight to super chicken. The inside is small but clean, with a few dining tables and a spacious outside eating area. Upon opening the door, you can immediately smell roasting meats, fresh bread, and sultry spices. I went with a kabob special and the samosa chaat. The portions were massive! and the bread, the bread was both soft and chewy, light but filling - I could hear the chef pounding out dough every few minutes, making them to order. In fact, I'm certain they made my food to order and it only took 10 min or so. That's a price i'm more than willing to pay for homecooked food. The young man who took my order let me know it would be a few minutes to prepare the food, showed me the tea, and cleaned off a table to sit. This dude was like 6 employees in one, taking orders, preparing sauce, busing tables, and taking the time to chat with regular customers. They offer free cardamom tea and are not cheap with sauces or meat portions. I'll come back sometime to try their weekend specials - It's worth the hike.

Nice flavor fluffy yet not dry

Tried there beef kabob it was over cooked dry I need a sip of water every bite so I wouldn't choke. The rice was ok but they threw a glob of tomato sauce in the rice I ordered spinach received can of oil chick peas tasted like a brown paper bag ( really). Not worth the $30.00 plus dollars. A little sad there rice was great before, absolutely not the same taste no flavor.

I have been to many Kabob places but this place definitely tops them all. The chicken and meat were very flavorful and tender. I really enjoyed the yogurt dressing it came with. The flavor is so different than others I have had. You can tell that the food is made with alot of care and time is taken to make sure it taste delicious. Reccomend Kabob & Chicken 100%. Great customer service as well! :)

This is the best place in NOVA to get butter chicken. They give you the perfect portion for the price. (Comes with a side of rice and home made naan bread) The sauce is creamy, spicy, and absolutely delicious. (There are levels of spicy you can make the sauce as well). They also only use white meat chicken and do not use dark meat at all. My boyfriend and I come here at least once a week for the butter chicken, it is a must have.

Chicken wrap. There was a lot of chicken, but this is a good shot of the veggies

Ventured out for a change of scenery and decided to try Ivy by the Lake. We arrived around 8:30 PM,…read moreand the ambiance was really nice-- really cute spot with good music. We ordered the hummus and pita, which were excellent. The hummus was incredibly creamy and smooth--one of two the most memorable I've had--and the pita was full of flavor and extremely soft. I ordered the Chapli Kabab Burger, which was just okay for me. It comes with two patties, making it a bit too heavy, and while it had some spice, it lacked depth of flavor and had more jam than I preferred. The Brussels sprouts were heaven sent, and the hookah was very smooth. Service was good--nothing standout, but nothing negative either. A DJ came on later in the night, which added to the atmosphere and made it lively and allowing us to talk comfortably. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I'd definitely go back.

While there are some good things about the place, which I will list first, there are some not-so-good things. The good --- When we arrived, the place wasn't busy at all. There were a few people sitting outside. The dining room was empty. Throughout our meal, we had the place to ourselves. Our server greeted us and seated us. Masha was very friendly, polite, and efficient. The dining room was decorated with artificial hanging plants. Also, there was a large mural of Eve holding the apple with the serpent coaxing her to eat it. Now for the not-so-good things --- getting to the entrance wasn't easy, especially for my husband, who is waiting to get his knee replaced. To reach the entrance, you had to walk down a paved path with descending steps after parking the car. Upon entry, we had to climb a somewhat long staircase. On the way out, Masha stated that there was a ramp and pointed to a door leading to the kitchen and said we could go out that way. We chose to exit the way we entered. Also, they don't have any printed menus -- just a QR code to scan for the menu. We found that to be off-putting. Fortunately, we had already decided what to order before coming here. We chose to start with "Zaytoun", which consists of "Mixed Pitted Olives Tossed In Extra Virgin Oil. GF". This was a tasty starter. There were a few different types of pitted olives. However, we didn't think that there was any olive oil in the small bowl; rather, it appeared to be brine. For our main course, we both chose "Beef Kofta" which consists of: "Beef rolls served with Lebanese Couscous, Refreshing Tomatoes, Cucumber, & Labneh". The beef kofta was very dry. Growing up, I sometimes had Kofta, and it often turned out quite dry. The kofta did have some kick, and the small amount of very tasty labneh helped mute the spiciness. The Lebanese couscous portion was huge. That, too, helped give moisture to the kofta. This was a filling meal, and we ended up taking some home. Weighing the pros and cons, the cons, alas, outweighed the pros for us.

After locating my friend, we discussed her recommended dishes since she frequented Cafesano. She eventually stated that I wouldn't be disappointed with the skewers, so, I decided to commit to the Steak and Shrimp Skewers. With the busyness of the Friday crowd, I expected there to be a wait time with ordering our meals, however, the order line essentially was non-existent, which was a win. The cashier was nice and efficient. However, when it was time for my food to come out, it took quite a bit of time. But, eventually my food came out fresh off the stove, which I appreciated. On to the taste of the dish. Unfortunately, with the promising words from my friend paired with the reviews, my expectations for this dish may have been quite high, causing immediate disappointment. I sadly felt like everything on my plate lacked flavor. The meat could have been seasoned/marinated better giving a more flavorful skewer experience. The portion size was good and price was very affordable. As it pertains to parking, the options were abundant.

The menu has a variety of items such as burritos, wraps, and rice platter but the focus of every item is either the chicken shawarma, beef shawarma or falafel. You really can't go wrong with any of their protein options because everything is freshly prepared and offers generous portions. We got the beef wrap which is really a mix of beef and lamb which is exactly what I wanted. It should be noted that the wrap is cut into 7-8 pieces rather than one long wrap is interesting because it makes it harder to eat. Everytbing basically falls apart after the first bite of each piece. I'd recommend getting the full wrap but not cut. It was packed with flavor and fillings so it more than made up for it. Do yourself a favor and get the spicy version. It's not crazy spicy and gives the entree another depth of flavor. I'll definitely be back again to try the other options.

I am a flavor fanatic and need things to be flavor packed and generally in the past, I've had many shawarmas lacking seasoning, toppings, or sauces. HOWEVER, the chicken shawarma here is nicely seasoned with plenty of toppings, sauces, and extra toum/garlic sauce on the side. I never get fries, but even their fries are well seasoned and tasty even when dipped in the garlic sauce! Affordable, filling, big portion, quick service, authentic, well seasoned, and good ingredients- what more can you ask? I'm glad I gave this place a try and will definitely come back when in the area!
