It's a pretty calm place, or at least the times I've been here it was pretty calm. Kabob and chicken is tucked away in the dulls town crossing near nordstrom rack and best buy. This is my new favorite place for lunch in sterling. Lamb Curry is a must have. They have seasoned it in a way where it doesn't taste Haney at all. I thought it tasted like beef. It's amazing! Entree comes with rice and a side salad. Price is med- high for lunch in my opinion but worth every penny. It comes to 10 something for an entree and drink. The restaurant is Penara style in terms of how it works. I did get butter chicken once, it was very good as well. Parking is out front.. Go there, try, and enjoy!!! read more

Stopped by here for a quick pickup since it is right next to carters. I got gyro sandwich but it looks like a wrap. Meat is definitely old and salty. The lettuce are fully cooked. I am not a fan of this place. I tend to go only because one of my co-workers likes it. The lunch buffet is frustrating because they always run out of item and are slow to replace the food when it run out. Very rarely does the buffet actually contain any kabobs, it is usually some kind of Chicken Tandori or some other filler crap. The hummus is some of the worst I have ever tasted. The rice is always overcooked and dry. The staff are not very friendly. There are so many better choices for Kabob in this area. read more

My wife and I eat quite a bit of this type of food so I feel pretty qualified to write a review :-) This was our first trip here and it didn't disappoint. My wife and I both had the lamb curry. Very nice and tender and the brown sauce was nice and rich. I asked for mine to be prepared spicy, but it wasn't "hot" enough for me. I chalk that up to them preparing it to most American's idea of spicy which is far different that most in the middle east. The bread was hot and fresh and the rice was nice and fluffy, not too wet or greasy. All in all a good meal. I will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes and maybe to try out the all you can eat lunch buffet that was advertised. Not bad for $10 per meal! read more

Very very small servings for a big price. They charge as much as other places that serve the same food but then cheap out on the meat portions and rice. Watered down sauces and not fully cooked chickpeas. Their flavor is fine but they either need to charge less if they are going to give these small portions or make their portions match the price. Until then I'm not going to be giving them any more chances to have my business... There are plenty of good Kabob places in a 10 mile radius for me to go to instead. read more

The food at this little hole in the strip mall is a nice change of pace from the mediocrity that we have come to expect from strip mall cuisine. So far I have enjoyed the beef, lamb, and chicken kabobs and I would have to say the chicken is by far the best. The chicken is tender, well prepared and the marinade is superb. The chickpeas are another bright spot on their menu, robust and flavorful, spicy but not overpowering. And the bread... ohh the bread! Pretty much my favorite tandoor bread ever--thick and soft and chewy... perfection! Their food makes me feel as if someone's mom has been cooking for me all day. If I had one thing to criticize it would be the tandoori chicken; probably made too early and left out too long, I found both of my orders dry and unappealing. The flavors may have been nice when the meat was fresh, but were dulled by time it hit my plate. Despite tandoori this little strip mall restaurant is a nice addition the to Dulles area. Not bad. We wanted to give this place a shot so we split a ground beef seekh kabob meal. It came with 2 ground beef kabobs, rice, chickpeas, salad, naan, and a yogurt sauce for $11+. Charcoal Kabob's version is better but this wasn't bad. The kabobs were moist, flavorful, and greasy. The minced beef had sliced onions inside, no other herbs were visible. It had good flavor, not spicy but tasty. It didn't look grilled but more like pan seared kabob. It definitely could have been more meaty. The rice was ok, nothing special. It was brown pilau, short grain, rice. The bread was good but thinned out after it cooled and was not as superior as the fluffy, white naan that Charcoal Kabob serves. I liked the chickpeas. They were hot, well cooked, and tasty. The yogurt sauce was creamy and tasty, not spicy. All the food was definitely not as spicy as Charcoal Kabob but flavored well. I love this place, its small. The portion is perfect for a lunch or dinner. My usual order is paneer makhani wtih naan and rice. Its the best tasting paneer dish i have ever had in NOVA region. Even some of the top restaurants don't match their taste. The Naan bread is so soft and fluffy. The pindi chole is the typical pakistani chole, however it does have a lot of oil floating in it. Tip: Don't ever drink water from their water cooler. Just buy the mango lassi or get some soda. read more

Oh man this place is amazing. The portions are huge! We ordered 1butter chicken, 1chicken tikka masala, a side of chick peas, and a side of spinach; it was so much food it was great. My wife and I are stuffed and have lunch for tomorrow. The butter chicken is on point. The tikka masala is so savory I want to put it on everything. Ordered lamb karahi, beef & chicken kabob, and chicken biryani. in a short version, this place is an embarrassment which I would say worst kabob i've ever had. To begin with I asked extra spicy for the karahi and biryani, but they weren't even medium spicy. they lacked flavor and umami; bland. I've been coming here (in Sterling location near BestBuy) since 2015 and I love the butter chicken they make here. I loved the butter chicken so much, I use to get it several times a week. Back then it was around $11 dollars for the full meal (not the lunch special). I noticed when the pandemic hit, they decided to increase the butter chicken price to $13 dollars, and now it is $15.99. I understand they must've been going through a hard time, but there should be a limit on that increase, especially considering for that price, you could get something much more in quantity or better quality. But that didn't really bother me as much as what they do when I order multiple butter chickens for pickup. They always leave the butter chicken 3/4ths filled, with less butter chicken sauce and chicken. One time I noticed they left the meals 1/2 filled. I did bring it up to them several times but they still leave the portions less than full. I just want them to know, when the price is $15.99, I expect the butter chickens to be filled to the top. read more

Decided to patronize this local establishment during this time of crisis, but boy was i let down. I ordered chicken&beef kabob and a few other items. My usual, chicken & beef kabob I've been getting for years. Instead of a tender piece of beef steak, i was given ground beef compressed together into a stick. For a plate that is basically 20 dollars this is a gigantic rip off. Please keep this in mind when ordering from here & to add the garbanzo beans zero flavor green yogurt sauce that comes on the side also ZERO flavor. Ordered from here the other day and got food poisoning. The food was not fresh nor tasty. Karahi was some sweet type of gravy. Biryani tasted like old rice and the chicken was dry boneless bs. I've had lunch here a few times and usually had the tandoori chicken. The chicken, side of chick peas, bread, etc is nice and tasty but the last time I went, the chicken was different. It was more like Boston Market chicken than tandoori chicken. When I told the manager that this isn't tandoori chicken, I was expecting an explanation of why he served me Boston chicken. I live right across Dulles town center and this is by far one of the best restaurant in this neighborhood serving Indian/paki food. Speaking of food they have a variety of "kabobs" to "curries" to "Karahis" with a choice of different types of halal (kosher) meats. The wait time is anywhere between 10-15 minutes but it's totally worth it, matter of fact this place doesn't serve any pre cooked food as a result everything's made to order, "made from scratch" and totally fresh. The smell of the kitchen all around in the restaurant would make any person instantaneously very hungry. The food isn't spicy at all compared to other restaurants I've eaten at in this neighborhood because the restaurant follows a policy of making it 'spicy by request'. This makes it easier for everyone to try out their food. Hygiene and customer service standards are at their ace. The owner is always ears to any suggestions and feedback and they treat their regulars as a family. This place also does complimentary tea everyday and otherwise they would do complimentary desserts or soups or sides on quite frequent basis To summarize I would recommend everyone in this neighborhood to go try out kabob and chicken to have a nice laid back family dining experience. read more

I visited Kabob and Chicken for the first time today and got take out; from the time I ordered to walking out was about 10 minutes. I ordered the beef sheekh kabob which came with two skewers of minced beef w/ onion, rice, salad, chickpeas, and bread. The beef was mildly seasoned and properly cooked. The bread had probably been rewarmed, but was still soft and a bit chewy. Chickpeas were firm, with a thick, spicy sauce. Signs on the counter advertised daily specials including curries and various tandoori grilled chicken. A mild yogurt sauce comes with the order, but be sure to ask for the spicy green sauce. This is a lot of tasty food for $9, and I will definitely be back. read more

If you live near or visit the sterling area, do not go to Kabob & chicken, 45591 Dulles eastern plaza, they served me spoiled food, and haven't given me a refund yet, and this was 10 days ago. Apparently the person who served me was the owner, and it was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. When I showed him that the tzatsiki sauce he served me with my Gyro was spoiled, he yelled at me and told me I was wrong. I have worked in food service for several years, and even know how to MAKE this sauce, I think I know when it has gone bad. If I could give it a zero I would. The flavor of the kabob was not what I have ever tasted in other kabobs. It was spicy and had the flavor of ginger. The sauce was watery and sour, don't get me started on the small amount they give of the sauce. The rice tasted as if they had put cinnamon on it. Hidden Gem!! I go with a bunch of my colleagues almost every Friday for lunch for the last 4 years. This is one of the few places every one agrees to go. We call the it the "Chapli Place" or simply "Khalid's" ( the owner's name) . We have never been disappointed with anything be it food or service. The place is modest and unpretentious. It is all about consistently tasty food. Service is not the fastest but for a good reason - everything is made to order after you place the order and good food takes time. You can always call ahead and have the food ready if you want the food quicker. We help our selves with some hot complimentary tea while we are waiting for the food to arrive. We mostly get the Chicken chapli kabob served with generous amount of rice, bread, side salad and chick peas and special spicy green yogurt sauce to dunk everything in. Boneless chicken kabob and ground chicken kabob are also very good. Last but not the least, the chick peas are really really special!! I'm yet to see a better chick pea dish PERIOD. Just the right amount of firmness and full of flavor. At the end of the lunch, we all leave stuffed and happy!! SIMPLY AMAZING. I'm new to NOVA and I think I've finally found the perfect Kabob spot. This is a very quiet, small, and tucked-away place but the food immediately makes your forget about all of that. I ordered the very basic Beef Sheekh. It was so wonderfully marinated and packed so much flavor. This place puts Moby Dick to shame (where they don't really marinate their Kabobs which means you have to drown it in sauces). At Kabob & Chicken, my kabobs were so flavorful I barely touched the sauce. The bread is truly the cherry on top. It was crispy at the edges and fluffy in the middle. Ordered online and was given the wrong order an hour and a half late. Spoke to the owner and a manger and explained the food I ordered was the wrong food delivered. I wanted to reorder and I only asked for a side of sauce that was never delivered in my original order-and that their food was great so I wanted another try. No sauce was delivered after I spent even more money at the establishment on a second order the same hour I spoke to the the owner. I really tried to support their business and ended up throwing money away. I hope they improve their customer service and appreciation for their client base or it will wither away. We were originally going for Italian but decided to come here instead. Daughter had the mango lassi for drink and loved it. She thought it was nice and sweet. We also ordered the chicken biryani and 1/2 portion paneer karahi. They were both delicious but I was thought the 1/2 portion paneer was a bit teeny. I'm glad that we ordered the biryani so that we had rice with it. The bread that came along with the paneer was great. We also loved the egg that came with the biryani. Service was friendly.
