I love this place! I have basically come to the conclusion that if I come to Walnut Creek, then I must get their Ghormeh Sabzi. So were in town last week and got a regular and vegetarian Gormeh Sabzi. Both were delicious and made quickly. The only thing that makes me sad is that they don't give you the hot out of oven flat bread anymore and they don't have any seating. So I either have to devour it in my car or drive home and let it get cold.

*****Customer Experience During the COVID-19 Pandemic***** Located in the San Miguel Center on the south end of Walnut Creek, Kabob House is a small restaurant that has been serving up mouthwatering Middle Eastern food for more than a decade. I came here on 09/26/2020 in response to a family meal deal promotion posted on the Facebook page of a group called Help Save Walnut Creek Restaurants. The family meal deal was a one-day event. For $55.99 plus tax, it included chicken kabob, beef koobideh, grilled tomatoes, onions, and green peppers, hummus, rice, naan, and baklava. It was advertised to serve four to five people. I called at around 3:30 pm just to make sure they were not talking about little people. The lady confirmed that the meal would serve four to five adults. I placed an order and asked for it to be ready at 5 pm. I walked in a few minutes before 5 pm and they were just putting the order together for me. I took a look around while waiting. The interior was very clean. The owner and her staff all had masks on. An automatic hand sanitizer dispenser was situated near the cash register for customer use. Everything was neatly packaged and nicely presented. The meats were seasoned/marinated well and charbroiled nicely. They were both juicy and flavorful. The chicken had a nice hint of coconut milk from the marinade and the beef was spiced just right. The hummus was pretty decent. It had a nice taste but was a little bit grainy. It went well with the naan, which came room temperature. I should have heated it up in the oven before eating. The two types of basmati rice, flavored with saffron and coconut milk, were the perfect accompaniments to the meats. The baklava was a nice sweet way to end the meal. The portions were very generous and definitely enough for four adults. We ended up with lots of leftovers. The owner and her chef were very nice people. They were polite and appreciative of my business. Overall, it was an excellent experience. The ordering was easy, environment was COVID-safe, and the food was delicious. Hopefully they will run this promotion again. Even if they don't, I will return. BONUS MATERIAL: - Curbside pickup available. - Major credit cards accepted.

Their chicken kabob is my absolute favorite! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for Persian food!

I have reviewed Kabob House before and felt compelled to write another review. Kabob House is my go to for great Persian food. It is the best around (and I have tried several others that don't even come close). We ordered the beef Koubideh kabob, chicken kabob, tadig (crunchy rice that you hav to try), and yogurt with mint. Try to zereshk pollo (white rice with burberries - gives a sweet and tangy taste). The staff are pleasant and the food is delicious. All middle eastern food is not the same and neither is all Persian food. If you want the really good stuff - Kabob House in Walnut Creek is your place.

It's so difficult to find good Persian cuisine in the east bay and being down the street from my house, we gave it a go. Service was amazing! Super caring and attentive during our carry out process. The Soltani was a little dry for my taste but was a large portion which I like. We also ordered four orders of koobideh which my teens devoured before I can snap photos. The fesenjoon with chicken was delicious and will be my go too. They will definitely be our new go to when we're craving kabob nearby.

There was a period when both the food and service had declined, but I believe in giving credit where it's due. Over my last several visits during the past two months, Alborz has been absolutely outstanding. The koobideh kabobs are some of the best I've had in a long while; truly mouthwatering. The flavors were explosively mouthwatering and unforgettable. In my opinion, great koobideh needs three essential qualities: it should be flavorful, juicy, and chunky in texture. Alborz's koobideh delivers on all three. The accompanying rice is perfectly cooked; fresh, fluffy, glossy, and delicious. Their bread also deserves special recognition. It's baked fresh daily in their tandoor, and you can absolutely taste the difference. The restaurant's interior has been beautifully updated and feels fresh and inviting, and the service has improved tremendously. The staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel welcome. After these recent experiences, Alborz has earned its way back to the top of my list for Persian kabobs. It's wonderful to see a longtime favorite return to the high standards that made it so special in the first place. Keep up the fantastic work, Team Alborz!

We ordered one potato bolanis for appetizer with beers and five orders of kabob. There were no kabob leftovers! Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. The kitchen was kind enough to serve the food family style and there was plenty of spare naan and rice, but the delicious kabobs were all gone. Folks really liked the lamb, but my favorite is still the mildly spicy chapli kabobs! I took a bolani home. It is perfectly crispy after a few minutes in the toaster oven. It is a smallish restaurant but Yasmeen manages the front end well with a helper. Highly recommended!

Not a simple order by any stretch. Getting the owner (?) on the phone to place the order took some persistence, but once we connected, she was fantastic. She helped us figure out quantities, steered us toward the right dishes for the vegetarians and the kids, and was upfront about what contained nuts. She even threw in extras (salad and dessert) to complete the meal. I felt like she treated us like family. Pricing was very reasonable, everything arrived on time -- delivered by her uncle, no less -- and there was so much food that every guest went home with a takeout container -- the true mark of a successful spread. My husband was considerably less thrilled that I didn't save any of the meat dishes for home (he still laments it every time we talk about this awesome catering experience to others). For dine-in, our favorites are the lamb kebob, the Qabili, and the chicken kebob. We'll keep coming back.

What made it so much better was I found the Yogurt sauce in the back. It's all you can eat. I used 2 on their small containers of sauce. And it really needed it as it was dry without it. My mom loves fries so that's why I ordered this dish. I think she was disappointed that they were stuffed inside and wasn't a side of fries. My mom did smother then wrap with ketchup which I thought was odd, but she enjoyed it and that's all that mattered. Next time I'll order her the Kabab Fries($14.90- Crave Fries plus protein. I think that will be bigger hit for her. My dad had the Chicken Protein Bowl ($16.90) Saffron Chicken Kebab (huge pieces), SuperGreens (aka lettuce), feta, hummus, tzatziki, crispy chickpeas (Crispy but not crunchy like a corn nut), red cabbage slaw, romaine, pickled onions, tomatoes, cucumber, and garlic yogurt. He then smothered it with the Dill Yogurt sauces from the back of the restaurant. The Dill Yogurt and Original Garlic Yogurt are both kept on ice which make me fill more comfortable as they are both milk products. Ambiance was good. I felt like I was in a Kebab restaurant. You order a the counter and they give you a buzzer. The buzzer will buzz when your order is ready and then you go to the back counter and pick up your order on a metal tray. The condiments are help yourself in the back along with the soda machine. The have 2 unisex bathrooms with hand dryers that took a bit to turn. On. I almost gave up on it and air dried my hands. The sensor must be off. Parking is a little tricky during meal hours. It's part of a strip mall with a shared parking lot. All the spaces were taken out front so we walked behind the Thai restaurant closer to Safeway and found parking. It was a little bit of a walk compared to all the spaces our front, but not bad for able bodied individuals. I'd come back now knowing where the extra yogurt is as the wrap was a bit on the dry side. I wish they would put more sauce on the inside and add a little more flavor to it. I found it a bit on the bland side. Next time I'll try some of their spicier yogurt sauces. Also next time I'll order mom the loaded fries. I didn't know she was such a big fan of fries.
