Over the years I've come to like this place a lot more. In the last 6 months the service seems to be much better and friendlier. The food is really good quality and the place is clean. Some of the things are a little dated but it makes this place pretty cool. I would recommend small parties and large parties here. The fish that uses very fresh and extremely yummy! I would definitely recommend coming here or doing takeout but I prefer to actually come in here as it's very mellow and usually not a ton of people. read more

This is my second time coming to this restaurant & so far it hasn't disappointed me! Whole menu was fairly priced, affordable & bang for your buck if you ask me. I ordered the Bento box with Beef Teriyaki + Shrimp Tempura , A Mexican Roll & Ebi Nigiri. Along with a house side salad (not pictured.) Food was great. Everything was very full filling, beef teriyaki was super tender. Was only able to finish the sushi + salad & had the left over Bento box for lunch the next day! It was just my husband and I for about 5 min then of course a lot more people started showing up to dine in. We were greeted, seated and given menus. Shortly after the server gave us drinks as well. Our order was 2 entrees and 4 sushi rolls. Entrees: Teriyaki Beef& Salmon Katsu. Sushi rolls: dragon, Titanic, Antioch and Red Head. Overall the food was a 5! Service was a 5. For the amount of people in that restaurant we still were helped. Not only did they run the restaurant smoothly but they also had A LOT of to-go orders. It was nonstop phone call after phone call, ordering for pick up. Our total was a bit pricey. $80 total for just 2 people. We can't complain that's normal for a sushi spot. read more

We went to this restaurant last night expecting to enjoy dinner. From the time the order was taken until it was received at our table, took 35 minutes, and the food was mediocre. The waitress said that she was busy taking the ToGo orders. I told her that people who were in the restaurant should take priority, especially when their food was sitting up to be delivered for over 10 minutes. She was rude and started yelling in her native tongue. When we left, I told her that she might want to think about her rant, as there are people who understand what she is saying. Came in during lunchtime on a weekday. The ambiance was very quiet, as there was only one other customer. The service was relatively attentive, though it wasn't busy at all. I've been going to this restaurant for years, and my go-to order is: -miso soup -raspberry iced tea -kiss me roll -philly roll The food is delicious. I would skip the miso soup, however. It came out piping hot with a really good seaweed/tofu ratio. Unfortunately, there was practically no flavor. Not even a little bit salty or umami. If you're just looking for something warm to sooth your stomach before the meal, this would be good. The sushi itself is phenomenal. The sauces are my favorite part. I even dip my philly roll pieces into the others sauces. So good... The fish is fresh and has a good texture. I always feel good after eating my meal here. Everything is priced very well. We went with a group of 6 adults and 2 kids and they accommodated us. They even let half of our table do all you can eat (AYCE), as long as the kids/3 adults ordered their own entrees. Of course we followed the rules, especially cause most AYCE restaurants don't allow that! Keep in mind, it's a $1 for every extra sushi not eaten or full price for wasted rolls / if you get caught trying to pack it home. For a big group, $171ish + tip isn't a bad deal. As mentioned, we were the only big group there and customer service was so-so. Half of our party ended up leaving as the people eating the AYCE rolls were still waiting for their second order that took awhile.. but I mean, I can't complain... it was yummy. Idk, this sushi place is average. The food was good, but the experience didn't "wow" me. If you're just looking for a go-to weekday sushi type place, this place is yummy. Many years ago there was another Japanese restaurant at this location that was a very poor excuse for Japanese food. Because if that I have been very hesitant about coming here but after reading some very nice reviews about it, my family and I gave it a try. Originaly we had come hre for the all-you-can-eat but found out we had the wrong day. Oh well, let's give it a try anyway! Husband had Salmon Donburi and LOVED it. He loved the taste, textue and tenderness of the fresh salmon that was artfully placed on his sticky rice. It was way to pretty to eat! My two daughters and I had the Bento boxes. Each came with plenty of food to fill us up. Very fresh and VERY tasty. As for service, it was great considering there was only one server and she was handling the entire front of the house while a Sushi Chef handled the few at the Sushi Bar. I don't know if it's because of this pandemic or if just over time they've improved but compared to when I first had the sushi at this place to now, it's more flavorful and fresh! I have been coming here for a while. I have eaten in the restaurant maybe twice. Both times, it was extremely clean, the decor is cute, and its very relaxed environment. The service can occasionally be slower, but that's because they're usually busy. The workers are always super kind with smiles though. The food is delicious. Then when I got home I found the poki salad did not have spring mix as described but just iceberg lettuce because they ran out of it but didn't bother to ask me if the replacement would be ok. Also, if you look at the photo there is just a very shallow layer of seaweed and tuna (which didn't look that fresh) spread across. When I called to let them know, they did apologize about the spring mix but told me the portions were fine. This place is always amazing. The staff is so friendly. I take my daughter with me often. Very kid friendly. The all you can eat sushi is a little pricey but it's totally worth it, they have a great selection of rolls that are included and they have a lunch special that includes sushi rolls and honestly it's a great deal. The quality of sushi is pretty good I eat sushi quite frequently and can tell when it's low quality sushi. Their rolls are very creative and tastey. The sushi chefs are friendly as well. My daughter likes to to sit at the bar and watch them roll. Not to mention when it's your bday they make you feel special I brought a party of 12 in and they took such good care of everyone, very attentive on refills and making sure we were all satisfied with our food. I have lived in Antioch for all of 3 years now and never knew there was a sushi place near my house. I went here for lunch on a Saturday and it was pretty slow. The waitress was very helpful and attentive. We ordered a role each: tempura roll and an irresistible roll. Yum! As well as a two item of chicken teriyaki that comes with steamed rice and veggies. Overall everything was pretty good at a decent price. I was actually surprised when I seen my bill because I usually spend more than that on sushi. read more

:'( It was a rocky relationship me and Kabuki. I feel like I owe you guys an update. Last I reviewed, Kabuki and I took a break from each other. We got our space, grew apart, and when we met up again (twice this year) the spark was no longer there. So.. it's official. We have broken up. Obviously don't recognize the staff anymore, but the staff they do have doesn't seem to be much of an improvement. Used to come in with a friendly smile and hello from the server/chefs, last time we came we just got a staredown. Maybe because I put on some weight? Maybe because it's been awhile since we've seen each other? Regardless, definitely felt a little unwelcome. Yea we should've kept in touch, but to get such an icy welcome was harsh. On to the sushi rolls,your once soft, generous, pillow-y fish is now stringy and very meagerly portioned at a much higher price that really doesn't justify what we're paying for. The spicy tuna roll was unevenly seasoned; where some pieces had a lot more sriracha than others. The roll I used to appreciate and find quirky and unique? (Finding Nemo), had overly dry chicken with a huge helping of cream cheese. It was 50/50 chicken and cream cheese, when in its prime, it used to be 75/25. Also got some pretty awful cuts of my salmon on my one of my rolls. It's like they didn't even try to be make it semi-presentable. (There was maybe two other tables at the restaurant at the time, thankfully our wait wasn't too long). Thought maybe it was me.. it's been awhile. We need some time to, you know, rekindle the love. So I came back a second time to give us another chance. We spent so many years together, and I didn't want to just throw it all away in case it was a fluke. But, sadly, the second visit just reaffirmed what I knew all along. What was once there is no longer. So Kabuki, I'll always treasure our memories, the amazing sashimi that once blessed my tongue, the incredibly friendly staff, the sake bombs, but our love story has come to an end. Wish I could give less than 1 star. I regretfully ordered from this place for my sister and when we opened the bag there was no utensils and soy sauce. No big deal right? I drove back to pick it up and the lady said there was no such order because she never forgets to add soy sauce and utensils. So I said I don't mind and it's not a big deal, I can even pay for them if I have to, and she said no, where is your sister? I was shocked by the service by the lady at the front. Very rude and not worth risking a terrible review over a soy sauce packet and utensils that are generally free, in which she forgot to add in the first place. I am usually pretty open minded with food so I am always willing to try new/different spots - you just never know till you do, y'know. Anyways I ordered the teriyaki salmon, spicy pork and some chirashi (12 piece), unagi handroll and some seaweed to go. *sigh* It seemed like the salmon and pork were just boiled in water and then the sauce was mixed in afterwards. The teriyaki salmon is usually accompanied with a salad on the side but the dish came with steamed broccoli which is different than what I am used to but that's okay, I'll eat it anyways. The spicy pork though . . if I were to describe it it resembles those chicken teriyaki bowls you get from Jack in the Box but watered down. The chirashi dish was okay. It was a bit of a let down but it is what it is. Appreciate the experience and the meal but this is not for me. read more
