    Antioch Roll, Salmon Nigiri
    Merilou B.

Reasonable price for quality and flavor. Was craving sushi as I was grocery shopping at the market nearby and ordered in advance online. A lot of seating inside but makes sense that for a weekday night most people were waiting for their takeout orders. The antioch roll was great!

My first time ordering today and it will be my last. I got hungry while waiting to pick up my husband at Antioch bart station so decided to order a few items on a whim and boy oh boy, do I just regret it. First off, I walked in to pick up my order and restaurant was empty, and there was no one at the entrance. Walked over to the bar while a customer was being helped and the Asian lady was super rude -- basically gestured me with her fingers to tell me to go back to the door even though I explained I had a pick up order. A younger man later came and helped me. Now onto the food -- I'm from SF and have been to Japan multiple times, so I know what good Japanese food is. 1) ordered salmon teriyaki + spicy pork combo but they gave me spicy chicken in a styrofoam container so all the sauce spilled inside the bag. Salmon was dry and hard. 2) fried calamari rings. Disgusting. Soggy and cold. Not crispy at all. I didn't feel safe eating this. 3) lion king roll. Salty. 4) last but not least -- chicken udon. They mixed the noodles with the broth. Why???? I've always had noodles and broth packed separately from other restaurants. Now it will be soggy even before I start eating it. Taste wasn't good at all either - so bland and tasteless. For all those giving 5 stars and saying this place has the best sushi, I highly recommend trying Neko Sushi in Brentwood or venturing out to SF. I promise you that you have NOT tried enough Japanese restaurants to say this place is the best. Waste of money but all the food except the free miso soup will be thrown out.

Negihama roll minus 2 in my belly and the Philly roll.

I tried this spot during my lunch today and was pleasantly surprised, their miso soup was good as was their agadashi tofu. I got the negihama roll and the Philly roll, and for a girl lunch I was pretty full! I'm pretty sure I will be back again for lunch!!

Nice ambiance, clean environment, decent food, overall a nice place! I went against the grain when coming here for lunch and ordered the Spicy Pork instead of sushi (Everyone thought I was weird). I'm glad I did though as I was craving some comfort food (rice, meat, veggies and a little heat!). Well this place delivered what I was looking for. The veggies were al dente which was a nice touch and the jalapeno's delivered the kick I was looking for! I don't typically venture out into the Antioch area but if I'm ever in that neck of the woods again I'll definitely come back. If you're reading this and your in the area, I you stop by too!

I ordered the Negihama roll (6 pieces) and caterpillar roll (8 pieces). I paid $2/each extra per roll for the red tobiko to be added. The rolls were tasty. I will give them that. I took two stars away because the caterpillar roll was an upcharge from the basic eel and cucumber I was originally ordering... There's barely any eel and just loaded with cucumbers. That tiny dark spot is the "eel". If I didn't want the eel, I would have ordered the cucumber roll. I was pretty hungry so I devoured the first roll - I was surprised how small the size of these rolls were because when I've ordered two different kinds, they've come in sleeves like this by themselves at other places. Both fit in here and I'm still hungry which doesn't happen. Might be worth trying the Buffett for this price.

Having a soda while I wait & the lady gave me free sushi roll keychain when she brought my drink. Friendly service!

Great service stopped in to place a to go order I haven't been here since maybe the late 90's early 2000's well I decided to try it after many years. The sushi was top notch packed with flavor and super fresh! It all went well together with the soy sauce, pickle ginger and wasabi! The staff is very friendly after I placed my to go order I decided to grab a soda while I waited and the lady at the front dropped a sushi roll keychain with my soda free on the house. That was a nice gesture and she offered to refill my drink right away as well. Overall the food was on point and I need to support local business more often so I will definitely be back! The ambiance was very quiet and calm perfect place to get a bite to eat solo or with a group of friends or family. This place is a hidden gem inside the Hillcrest crossroads shopping center at Larkspur and Hillcrest right behind the Antioch Tap house and next to County Market. Check it out! I'll def be back!

De-FREAKING-licious sushi. The chefs looked so professional and focused ! The food presentation was gorgeous. The establishment was cleanly and nice. The only reason it didn't get a 5th star was the waitress. She did not have a good attitude, barely refilled our drinks , so she basically ignored us the whole time.

The layout was nice, the lighting was gentle, and the music made for a comforting atmosphere. The food itself? Amazing! We did the gyoza appetizer and my husband loved the sauce! While it was a little too much of a kick for me, the gyoza was still delicious. The miso soup was perfectly balanced; some places I've tried it's to watery or the tofu is rough but this was blended magnificently. My husband got the String Rolls; he got full quickly but refused to stop eating they were so good! He's had damp fried rolls sometimes but he was even trying to offer me some! I'd partake if I could but alas I'm allergic to avocado of all things. I got the sashimi trio. The salmon absolutely melts in your mouth, it's so perfectly tender. The yellowtail was delightful with beautiful color and the tuna was plump but not chewy! Hands down the best sashimi I've ever had! The cuts were absolutely stunning. 10/10 Will be returning to try more from the menu!

I left disappointed, and honestly, it's not the first time the service has let the food down. On past visits: We stood at the host stand for an extended period while a stressed waiter cleaned empty tables instead of acknowledging us. I requested a protein substitution for their Japanese curry and was told no. Then weeks later, that exact substitution appeared on their updated menu. Last night was the real problem. My meal arrived without rice because they'd run out and said it would take 30 minutes to cook more. You can't run out of rice at a Japanese restaurant. That's not a minor slip. It's a fundamental operational failure. Bluefin has genuine quality and consistency in the kitchen. But the experience around it keeps deteriorating. The restaurant feels disorganized, stretched thin, and unable to keep up with demand. You can't build loyalty on food alone when service and operations keep breaking the promise you're making to guests. If they fix the operational side, this place would be a solid recommendation. Right now, it's not.

They did not last long enough for a photo unfortunately. The fish taco was nice and crispy the fish was flaky and delicious. The spicy chicken taco was tender and flavor definitely top notch. My chicken wings and garlic noodle combo was amazing. The portion is huge and filling. The customer service was okay, I did feel a little rushed to order, but it was busy and clearly this restaurant is popular, but a little patience goes a long way.
