Lunchtime! They mostly serve panini's but there are other stuff on the menu like salads and coffee. Good for a light and quick lunch! There's this little asian lady that works here that is super friendly and nice. Service was awesomee!! I split the bulgulgi panini and the chipotle chicken bacon ranch panini. Out of the two, I liked the bulgulgi one the most. FIRST off though, the bread was delicious. Not your typical panini bread with crisp crust that scrapes against your gums, Kaffa serves your panini with a grilled focaccia that is slightly crisp on the outside but so soft and good on the inside. The herbs on the focaccia add extra flavoring as well! So good!! The bulgulgi was super tender mixed with melted cheese, each bite was so good! There's nothing else to say but to try it! On the other hand, the chipotle panini was good, but different. This one had a good serving of white meat, tomatoes, bacon, avocado, lightly dressed with cheese and ranch. Why would I drive more than 2 miles for a latte when there are yummy places like Euro Caffe, Milk n Honey and Gypsy Den close by? Cuz I'm on a latte/sandwich kick, searching for places exactly like Sweet Elle with the comfy, cozy, homey, no rush to leave type place. And I thought this would be that type of spot! If I had my way, I'd like Urth's green tea latte, Milk n Honey's Lavender latte, Sweet Elle's cozy ambiance and Kaffa's yummy paninis, all together in one place across the street from me! Somebody make that happen!!! Ok, so the paninis and salads are great here! Was really impressed with the lemon albacore tuna panini! Tuna with a kick! Loved it! The salmon panini with cream cheese was yummers too! Their bread is perfect - light, crispy and not greasy at all! Mediterranean salad was tasty too. Vanilla latte needed work. It might have tasted better if it wasn't luke warm, guess it'd been sitting there for a while before it was brought over. It was obvious cuz the heart foam pic was unrecognizable! lol! I really like this cafe! If it were closer to me, I'd probably come here very often to study because they have free wifi here too! Sadly, I came on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and they closed at 2 PM instead of 4 PM so I ended up just having lunch there with my bf instead of staying longer to study. I got the chinese chicken salad which was actually reallyyy good! It had more of that shredded wilted look but the dressing was so yummy and I loved the mandarin oranges and the crunchy bits in it! I devoured it! My bf got the BBQ pork sandwich which he absolutely loved too. Their iced latte was also pretty good but nothing really out of the ordinary. When I paid for my cappuccino, I was asked whether I wanted my coffee for here or to go. I clearly said for here and I got my cappuccino in paper cups, double-cupped with no lid or sleeves. I was not happy that I got it in paper cup when I told the cashier person that I wanted it for here. Double cupping is also waste of resources and as a person who values importance of being green, it was very disappointing. Alright, a short one. I was in the area and had just hit The Block. I needed some coffee and nerd time on the 'puter, so of course my iPhones ran for the Yelp App. This joint popped up and I headed over via the map directions. I REALLY wonder what you Yelpers see in this place? Is it clean? Sure. Is it large? No. The staff? Hmm. The bathrooms? Meh. The coffee you ask? So-so. I'm not a huge fan of the main stream coffee joints so I needed and wanted a quaint little place to geek out. Kaffa let me down. Free WiFi with a password they will give you. However, the speed was so slow that we had to tether off my iPhone 4 just to be able to browse. My iPhone's tethering was faster than their WiFi. : / It wasn't even that busy either. Oh and not many plugs here for power so keep that in mind if you are looking for a "sit down relaxing study place". This isn't it. Seems most folks come here for the food. I just ate a bit ago and decided not to order anything this go. It's located right across the street from some kind of medical center and the majority of the foot traffic seems to stem from there. I'm surprised that Kaffa's been around for a few years and I haven't visited. It really is a hidden gem so why the 3 stars? First impressions are everything folks. This place appears small, but it's spacious and clean. I looked around for a table and found the one near the door to be enough for our needs considering we had some work to do so I grabbed it and took a seat. My friend wasn't there yet so I didn't want to order however during that agonizing 15 minute wait; the staff behind the counter kept staring at me and when I went up to get the WiFi code I was told it was for "customer's only." I can understand that but do you really think I'm just going to sit there, take up your space, and not order? I guess some people do that but don't lump me with the masses. Eventually we ordered. It wasn't "Hi, Hello" friendly but sarcastic. How many times are you going to question me if I want a HOT white chocolate mocha and are you really going to ask the same of my friend? Seriously. Yes, we both hate cold coffee drinks and we know it's hot out. We're not idiots. We still want our hot coffee. The customer is always right regardless of what you think. And what's with breakfast being served all day but lunch is only served until 3pm? Hmm. We confused our orders for omelets but got paninis instead. I know we're not stupid people but maybe that needs to be spelled out clearly somewhere or perhaps the heat melted some brain cells after all. Either way, 30 minutes before closing I noticed the doors were locked and cleaning had already begun. That has got to be considered unethical in some business book somewhere. You clean up when you close, you can begin before but doors need to remain open. Eventually the doors were opened and we made it out by 6pm. That has got to be the earliest coffee house closing ever. In either case, the coffee and food is great. Not quite close to Kean but it's up there. I would bump this up a few more stars if customer service experience improved a little more. read more

This review is just for the coffee...I've never eaten the food, but it looks really good and I plan to indulge soon. The coffee is fantastic! I'm an Americano kind of girl, and my husband gets the mocha. Both are delicious. They have a stamp card program, so after 10 drinks you get a free one! They never mention it again after they give it to you, so keep it on you and remember it! I've had both the regular and the decaf, and both are really good and rich-tasting. The barista is a true artist with the mocha, and the ratio is good of milk to chocolate to espresso. The location is in a strip mall right across from St. Joseph's Hospital, and it's kind of a random spot. It does get a lot of lunchtime traffic during the week. Totally worth a visit! read more

Just moved to the area and the ol' ball and chain decided to take me here for a late lunch. The area is beautifully decorated and it was spotless. It wasn't too busy except for a few hospital workers that were lunching there (that's a good sign I think). Had this place bookmarked for ages and finally got around to coming here for a sammich. I'll be completely honest. I was a little put off with the service here. Didnt feel welcomed from the guy taking the orders at the counter. Maybe he was new or something but he didn't make me feel comfortable coming in here. I've been coming to Kaffa for coffee since 2007 and it is by far the best coffee I've ever had! My favorite drink is their vanilla-caramel latte - not too sweet but just sweet enough with a smooth espresso flavor (none of that burnt or bitter taste you might find at large coffee houses). Seriously, it's heaven in my mug :) Freshly ground beans right before they make your latte which really makes the espresso that much better. The baristas are all consistent; my drink is always just the way I like it. If you're into coffee, they also have a lot of special roasts to try that are all unique. I went to lunch at a tiny cafe called Kaffa, which is just a hop, skip and jump away from my work. Their website completely draws me in and if I ever wanted to open up a coffee shop, I'd want it to be as passionate about coffee and tea as this place is. The place is tiny and unpretentious, with a few spare tables but a nice open "bar" that patrons can sit at and drink their caffeinated beverages. I caught the beginning of the lunch rush and went up to the counter to order. I ended up ordering a white mocha (which is definitely pricier than those offered at the chain coffee shops) and I ordered a chicken pesto panini. The sandwich was nicely grilled and I really liked the flavors of the pesto spread with the chicken and provolone cheese. I was pleasantly surprised at the richness of the coffee - it had such a wonderful balance of strong coffee flavor that melded nicely with the white chocolate. The latte was lighter than the mocha, and also less sweet. So if you want something sweeter, go for the cafe mocha... It has lettuce and Chinese cabbage all chopped into fine strips and I was so excited when I could pick up big mouthfuls of salad. I also loved the Asian dressing. I'm Asian and I don't know what's in it, but it was tangy and delicious. The chicken pieces lacked some flavor but the dressing more than made up for that. I've eaten there several times for lunch. There was just one time the older Asian lady didn't call my name until I went up to ask her because I'd been waiting for a long time. I remembered not being a huge fan of their paninis so I decided to steer clear and get myself a salad this time instead. I didn't expect the portion to be so huge, but it was. Their Ultimate Chinese Chicken Salad ($8.49) was truly...ultimate. It included mandarin oranges, cilantro, carrots, cashew nuts, and crispy wontons all over a bed of romaine lettuce. As for dressing, it was a "savory chinese sesame dressing." It was sort of thicker than the sesame dressings im normally used to and a little bit sweeter, but I thought it went well with the salad. Each bite had a crunch and I love how they added in cilantro. Everything tasted great - but most importantly, it tasted fresh.
