We're starving so popped in here for brunch yesterday and it was a great time. I did not catch our server's name, but she was pretty nice. We had coffee, mimosas, pancakes, eggs, Benedict, and a create your own omelette. A great mix, and everything tasted pretty good. I liked how they use cinnamon in the pancakes to give it some flavor. The restaurant was pretty quiet. I just wish the service was a tad faster. But I would definitely return.
We had limited options but we're glad to find them open on Easter Sunday! Service was quick and friendly. The Mallorca sandwich was made perfectly to my liking. Portions were large. Staff was knowledgeable and quick to share a bit about the island as well. The aesthetic was very cute. My only down side was the water was cucumber mint which didn't do it for me. Definitely with a stop in!
The Kaffe Haus is fantastic! From the modern, hip vibe to the delicious coffee to the excellent service - I have nothing but praise for our experience. The Kaffe House atmosphere is one where you can linger and not be rushed. Gerardo was our waiter and he was informative, friendly, and made great recommendations. I love the decor, the food, and atmosphere- definitely a highlight of our time in Old San Juan.
There are so many places to eat in Viejo San Juan but Kaffe Haus is an absolute cannot be missed, must visit breakfast spot. Have you ever thought to put oregano in your waffle? Probably not but I'm so glad I tried the waffle and pork belly dish because it was genuinely one of the most unique and delicious things I've ever tried. The waffle and pork belly were topped with guava maple syrup and the sweet balanced the savory perfectly. The drinks were unreal too. My coconut latte was so delicious and they made it half sweet for me. I loved that the whip cream on top was likely cool whip so it didn't hurt my stomach. So delicious, such a good vibe, and the service was amazing too!!
We did brunch at Kaffe Haus for my mom's birthday and she had a great time! The food was good and the food portions are pretty big so you'll definitely be getting your money's worth. All the staff members we interacted with were nice and friendly. I would definitely come back to eat next time I'm in PR!
Based off of our experience eating here, the service was disappointing. Our server did not introduce himself and seemed to be in an annoyed mood throughout the visit. He was not very attentive and never checked on us after we received our food or asked if everything was okay or if we needed anything. As for the food, it was overall okay, but there were some issues. The fried potatoes were a bit too salty, and the bacon was undercooked. Overall, the experience could have been much better with more attentive service and better food preparation.
Came here for breakfast--it was super busy, probably because it's one of the few sit-down spots with a full menu in the area. The space is bright with plenty of seating, and we were seated right away, but service was very slow. It took a while to get water, coffee, and our food (over 30 minutes), with no updates or apologies. The coffee and food were both good but a bit overpriced. They were also out of hot sauce and some condiments. Overall, a decent but pricey spot, even without alcohol (known for mimosas)
Stellar service and coffee with a delicious breakfast to start a full day of walking around Old San Juan. The vibes were great at Kaffe Haus, which also had a good sound level. We enjoyed the Chocolate Tempation, Vanilla Temptation, Veggies Eggs Benedict, and French Toast Montecristo -- and would order everything again. We'll be back!
I would say this place is decent overall. The empanadas were definitely the highlight--crispy on the outside with a flavorful, well-seasoned filling. The queso frito was just okay; it arrived a bit cold in the center and lacked flavor. The chicken sandwich was good, though not particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the lobster roll was disappointing--it tasted like imitation meat and was quite soggy. As for the coffee, I ordered the lavender latte, but even after adding three sugar packets and extra flavor syrup, it remained overly bitter. The best was the location, the decor and the service.
We waited for 30 minutes for a table for two. Which didn't bother us honestly because they took my number down and said they would text when they were ready for us so we just walked around and explored until they texted us. Our waitress was super friendly. She recommended the spinach and cream cheese empanadillas and they were amazing even my husband who is not a spinach fan loved them. The food did take a long time to come out but it was pretty busy. I had the Mallorca chicken sandwich. The bread has been a fave of mine since I was little. The chicken was massive and it tasted good. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich which he enjoyed. The portions are big. I had the vanilla temptation latte. I thought this place was great and will visit the next time I am in Puerto Rico
We were seeking out a cool place to take a break from the heat and enjoy a coffee. This place had an extensive menu for both food and drinks. Pictured are the Marshmallow Bliss iced coffee and the Coconut Passion iced coffee. Each were delicious. If we were hungry at the time I could definitely find us ordering food from their menu. Everything sounded so good.
I had a nice brunch here. We made a reservation and waited around 10 minutes before being seated. We were a big party of 10 people. Service was okay. We didn't get water cups until we got our meal. They also brought glasses of drinks out when we ordered a pitcher originally. But I was happy they accommodated me when I asked for my food to go since I had to catch a flight. Everyone else's food didn't come out long after. I loved my grilled chicken although a little salty. It was very juicy. Veggies and plantains tasted fresh.
This place hits on all the right points for me. Located in the heart of Old San Juan, decided to come here around 10 am for a late brunch. This is the time you want to be in Old San Juan as all the shops and business are open and the cruise ships are in port and everyone is out having a great time! My party of two sat right down at the bar when they make all the specialty brunch type drinks. Got the French toast platter and it was awesome. There were a lot of choices on the menu that appealed to me. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in town. Awesome spot!! read more

Our server was AMAZING!! She wasn't trying to upcharge you. She was genuinely trying to find what we would like. She had so many pictures on her phone to show us examples of each food. The food was good! The breakfast potatoes were seasoned amazingly. Coffees were super cute! The restaurant itself was adorable! Cool on a hot day. Nothing against the restaurant but parking was soooo hard to find in the old San Juan area so just a heads up. read more
Cool hopping joint, great food, delicious coffee, two thumbs up! Came in for breakfast and were lucky enough to get a table for 8 right away. Coffee came quickly and it really is amazing here! PR is a coffee lovers paradise. Food was amazing! They had options for the kids, stuff for the foodies in the group, and staples for the less adventurous eaters. A Perfect Brunch Spot! Kaffe Haus gets 5 stars in my book! The gentleman who helped us was beyond wonderful, offering us insights on the chef's specials and drinks. The tres leches pancakes were amazing--not too sweet, with the perfect amount of coconut and whipped cream. They reminded me of coquito! My boyfriend got the steak and eggs, and the New York strip was cooked to a perfect medium rare. We had no complaints. The staff was very attentive, and with the music playing and the beautiful decor, the ambiance was amazing for our first meal in Old San Juan. If you get a chance, I highly recommend this brunch spot! read more

Kaffe Haus is an adorable restaurant on a side street, we went on a Friday early afternoon, and we were seated quickly. They had live music, which was good. Our server was great, and the food was delicious . If you order the eggs benedict has enough food for two people, haha, but it was great. Overall, it was a great experience. read more

Advance warning: parking is not easy to find, but welcome to Old San Juan! I got the chicken and waffles and my wife got the Monte Cristo French toast. Both were really good. I got a mocha and my wife got a matcha (which tasted like vanilla). Don't be thrown off by the water, it's served with lemon, so you might have bits of lemon / lime floating around in your water. read more

We went here for our first breakfast in San Juan and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was cute and laid back. We loved the servers and the food was awesome. The eggs Benedict with crab salad was so much crab! It was absolutely delicious. My husband got the giant breakfast burger. I was so impressed with the presentation and he said it was perfectly cooked! Would definitely come here again! read more

The place was really cute. They had a couple guys with instruments singing on a Saturday morning so nice ambiance. You definitely need to make reservations though! Otherwise you have to wait and it's not ideal out in the heat! I thought the coffee and food were both better at La Carretta. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything that left an impression. This place felt more like it catered to tourists with their food. Service was good, but I felt a bit underwhelmed especially after making reservations. read more

Saw this restaurant posted a lot on social media platforms (tiktok Instagram etc) so I had to try it out. I made reservations which I would recommend because I see they can get busy. The hostess sat us down quickly and they even sent us a reminder text that our table was ready. The chicken and waffles were amazing. My husband got the steak and eggs which doesn't have a price listed it's based on the market value I believe. The vanilla iced lattes were sooooo good! I couldn't find anywhere else on the island to make a good iced coffee beverage lol! I love the decor of the restaurant and just loved the atmosphere! I will definitely visit them again on my next trip! read more

4yrs later and we finally came with our baby without knowing this was the place where we had our brunch the dar after our weeding. The place is exactly the same as I can remember! We arrived pretty early so we were seated as soon as walked in, but we did wait a couple of minutes to be able to take our order. So down to the food, people! The food was really really good! everything had a great balance of seasonings but I want to shout out the chicken dumplings Those dumplings were the best dumplings I've had in my life OK! Ot is very hard to find chicken dumplings because they are always with Pork so when I saw them in the menu, i had to try them and damn they were worth it! If the food was great why not five stars? well I waited a lot for my coffee and the waiter was nowhere near for me to ask for my coffee. I did ask for my coffee to arrive with my food because I like to have my sips of coffee while I eat... but my coffee arrived after my meal and it was a big no no for me. Started out a little rough, PSA that they open at 0830 not 0800 like the website says. My wife and I got in at about 0840. However, everything following was immaculate. The food was fresh and delicious. The coffee was spectacular and tasted better than any other shops in the area. Last, our server Mark, was great and even recommended I try the homemade Blueberry Jalapeño hot sauce, which was ridiculously good. 10/10 will come back again! read more

So happy we found this place while visiting San Juan. I was worried that the wait would be long by the looks of the small crowd forming but we were able to be seated immediately. This place has a BEAUTIFUL ambiance. There was great music playing, strong coffee brewing & great energy. The food was......chef's kiss. Gia was our waitress and she was super sweet, my only complaint would be she disappeared a couple of times and we wanted coffee/water refills. The eggs were so perfectly fluffy that they looked fake. I opted for the chicken tenders with my chicken and waffles and they were not stingy at all. The strips were perfectly seasoned and there were enough to have with every single bite. We have a place here called Metro Diner that is known for there chicken & waffles. IMO Kaffe's are better and if they could somehow get the recipe for the strawberry butter that Metro Diner uses on their chicken & waffles, I would be in Heaven the next time I go read more
If you're in Old San Juan for brunch you HAVE to come here! Small little gem tucked away in one of the alleyways. The service was amazing! They do speak English and answered all of our sightseeing questions with directions. Super sweet staff! The pitcher of mimosa serves about 6 glasses. The expresso martini was delicious best expresso martini I've ever had! So smooth! I ordered the empanadillas to start with. So freaking delicious. They are greasy, seasoned, flaky, sweet and salty. I had the crab egg benedict with a side of haus potatoes. The crab was so fresh and the potatoes was seasoned perfectly. My friend had the chicken and waffle .. the chicken was seasoned beautifully and made with love. Honestly everything here was seasoned to perfection! read more

We live in St Thomas but always make sure this is our first breakfast stop when we fly over!!! The coffee is fresh, the inside is cozy, the decor is cute and the food comes out quick hot and delicious! The main reason we come here though is the service!!!! We always hope to run into our favorite waitress with the One Piece apron!!! She is always bright and smiley and makes us feel welcomed! Till next time! read more

Coffee martini is aMAZing. Could easily be a dessert drink. Eggs Benedict VERY good. Waitress Zoey had great suggestions and very helpful. Ambience is interesting. It appears to be a modern German Kaffe Haus, duh, but the menu is eclectic featuring PR foods and lots of things made here in San Juan, or right here in house, esp lots of different fruit juices. Only open until 3pm, so grab breakfast, brunch, or lunch. read more

This was my first stop on a self-guided food tour. I ordered the hot & frozen vanilla temptation coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker but I thoroughly enjoyed this drink. I actually preferred the hot over the cold, but both were delicious. Since it was about 85+ degrees outside the cold one definitely hit the spot. I liked the extra large coffee cup and the cute glass they put the cold one in. Nice touches. The ingredient ratio was 3 shots of espresso, milk, 1 pump of vanilla syrup, & caramel. I thought for sure there were more vanilla pumps. Lol. I can only assume this coffee wasn't as bitter, strong, or was just low maintenance & didn't take a lot to make it taste good. It usually comes with whipped cream but they were out. read more

Love Love Love the coffee, breakfast and vibe of this popular cafe in Ole San Juan. Be sure to make a reservation. Thankfully we did and were seated immediately, the party behind us was told the wait was 1.50 hours. We had an amazing cappuccino and macchiato. The steak breakfast burritos were enormous, hot, fresh and packed with favor. The side sauce was especially spicy and delicious! Breakfast was served with crispy potatoes. Service from everyone was top notch especially with our water being refilled on a warm day. I recommend Kaffe Haus to anyone with an appetite! read more

This cafe was lovely, the atmosphere 10/10. Staff were all very friendly and attentive! The chef came out multiple times to see how everybody was enjoying their meal We were a group of 5, everybody was absolutely amazed by their meals & we all got different items. I'm sure the whole menu is amazing !! Mimosa de parcha is a MUST and the coffee is real authentic bold coffee! Live music on the Saturday we were there as well :) Not a single bad thing to say, I definitely recommend if you're in the area !! read more

Hands down the BEST breakfast place I've been to here in Puerto Rico!!!! Kaffe drinks and food is a MUST try here!!!!! I'm a foodie and I'm giving this place 5 stars because the crab eggs Benedict was AMAZING, excellent service. Ambience was perfect! Alennis was our waitress and she was THE BEST!! Ok I seem to come here every time I'm on the island. The food is great the drinks are also amazing and it's such a cute spot. Prices are pretty reasonable and the mimosa flights are 30 dollars which is pretty good, I recommend this spot to anyone who comes to SJ. Also the service is good the food comes pretty quick and the servers are almost always super attentive. read more

Best breakfast we had in our trip to Puerto Rico, server was attentive and the love music was a great plus. Food was fresh and great in portion. The eggs Benedict with pernil were so good!!! Our drinks came out pretty fast but the food took a while so by the time we received our food our iced coffees were hot. Busy on the weekends so be prepared to wait. read more
