The place is located right out front of our hotel's pool and courtyard. They have a variety of available bowls and shaved ice. Hubby and I wanted something small and split the Kai cup. It was refreshing to have on a hot day in the shade at a table they have available. You can people watch from there too.

Delicious fresh items here and Kona black coffee!! They sell shaved iced, açaí bowls, waffles, and dole whip! There's dole whip specials where you can add toppings like pineapple, coconut flakes, strawberry, etc. Everything is refreshing and moderately priced for being so close to the beach and near the main shops of Waikiki.

I've always been meaning to try this place, and finally did. On two separate occasions, I tried the acai Bowl and the Choco waffle Croissant, and they were both excellent. The acai Bowl was classic so no complaints there. The waffle was nice and flaky just like a croissant. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a snack to come here.

10/10 all around. The waffles and coffee were amazing. The service was amazing. Outdoor seating was cool. We got the strawberry waffle, blueberry waffle, and Hawaiian waffle. All of them were amazingggg. So warm and crispy with fresh fruit and cream cheese filling on top! I also got the iced caramel latte which was delicious! Permanent outdoor stall with some covered picnic tables. They have four different açaí bowls and we got the aloha bowl (I asked for mine without coconut flakes). I loved the transparency of the pricing, the menu states the 16oz bowls are $13.95 (except the Nutella bowl costs $2 more for the same size). I think the options at the Sunrise Shack are a similar bang for your buck, I'd guess their large is a 20oz for $18, but I didn't see other açaí shops in downtown Waikiki with transparent pricing.

While I did indulge in two açaí bowls from here, it was really because of convenience and mother nature had me craving fruit so bad! The first time, I ordered a regular bowl. I am not a fan of coconut so I asked for extra fruit instead. The açai bowl was pretty good but not the best I've ever had. The second time I ordered the açai bowl with nutella. The nutella açai bowl left a lot to be desired, which was surprising considering how much I love nutella. It also seemed to be lacking enough fruit and I don't know if because I asked for extra previously or this was the normal amount. And even though I'm not a fan of ripe bananas, I didn't remove them either time and it wasn't bad. Now this place was convenient, but the customer service was not that kind. There were two people working the stand every time; I believe the same two people. Neither were friendly; I get it you live in Honolulu daily so you're used to it, but the rest of us are primarily on vacation (particularly in Waikiki) and you own or service a customer facing business. They have a few tables outside, where you can enjoy your order however, since I stayed at the nearby hotel, I just took it back to the room.

5 rounded down to 4.5. Fast service, reasonable prices, and great dole whip. I ordered two dole whips on a weekday afternoon and they came out almost immediately! I did notice they also had a variety of flavors which is nice. They have self serve utensils and napkins and it's a short walk from the beach. Clean spaces to sit and eat if you like also, it's just tucked away in a small plaza that I can picture getting crowded.

Convenient spot for shaved ice, acai bowls, and more if you're staying at the hotel beside it or walking along the street! The shaved ice was a little hard and not as smooth as other spots, but it definitely satisfies your craving! Service was pretty fast though and there's seating outside.

During our 6 day trip to Oahu, we came to this spot twice because we liked it so much and it was close to our rental. The acai bowls were so good, one of the best we've had during our trip. Tasted really fresh and came out quickly. The waffles were also tasty. It's a shack style, you walk up to and order then pick up when they call your number. There are a couple of tables and chairs outside available to use.

Yummy flavors and only $1 for dole whip which is soft serve ice cream and it's a very big serving for $1 do def get it on top. The ice cream was already melting when they gave it to us. But it was tasty. And the shaved ice had some consents milk in it, but the ice was a little jumpy and not soft, so we had to break it down with our forks and spoons to make it slushy. Overall tasted yummy with the fresh fruit like mango and pineapple..

Don't walk too fast, or else you will miss this little hidden gem on the strip of Waikiki. Came here on a whim while coming back from a walk and decided to give them a try. I was not disappointed. Unlike other places around Waikiki, Kai's doesn't skimp out on ingredients. I was shocked to see I got strawberries, blueberries and even bananas. (I know its the small things that count) Because of this, the bowl itself is a bit too sweet. I hope the owners can read this and reduce the sweetness of their açaí to allow the fruit flavors to thrive more. They only serve one size but it definitely can be shared. If you were absolutely hungry you can smash this easily, but if you just want to snack on something with someone you totally can do that here as well. Staff were kind, prompt, and fast. My bowl was done before I could even sit down. Highly recommend looking out for this tiny shack!

We came here because we wanted something fruity and refreshing and ended up coming twice during our trip. The first time we got smoothies and they were super creamy and delicious. A really good consistency and not too sweet. They also have sole whip, so we got that the second time we went. They have a pretty large menu with lots of options for desserts. Good service and there is a small seating area outside, it's nice to sit and people watch while you eat. read more

Staying at the hotel right next to this little shop, so I tried to get three soft serves for the family. I ask them if there is a way to carry more than two, and the guy says they have the coffee tray that will work. So I pay and get three soft serves in this paper tray but they don't fit properly, literally within a minute they all fall and make a mess. Had to throw them all out, $30 down the drain. Note to the owner: you do NOT have a way to carry these. read more

The shave ice at this spot was sooooo GOOD! I cannot stop thinking about it since we left Hawaii. I will be going back to this place when we return. Service was also super fast which was awesome! Came here for quick dessert and wanted to finally try an açaí bowl in hawaii! They were open in the evening and I did the basic bowl with fruit. Came out quickly and it was good. I couldn't finish the açaí itself though as it was a bit tart - not sure if it was just this spot or in general that's how it is. read more

The service was good. They let us have a sample of the pineapple whip, which I found to be a little thick and tart. I did try their nutella açaí bowl. It was $16, so it was a bit pricey but it was quite tasty. It was good quanity and was very refreshing. I loved the toppings and the chocolate and açaí mix. read more

The acai bowls would be four stars, but it's five for the shaved ice. The lilikoi (passionfruit) is made with actual fruit, so you'll get the seeds, but it's so bright and fresh and wonderful. The rainbow jelly and popping boba are also wonderful, and the portion size is generous but not insane. Acai bowl was fine, but seemed like it was premade and frozen, which made it tough to scoop. read more

I ordered the Kai cup. At first I was a little hesitant because I didn't know if I would like the combination of flavors but it was delicious. I went multiple times during my stay in Hawaii because I couldn't get enough of their shaved ice. The staff were really friendly and they were quick. I never had to wait more than 10minutes for my order. I enjoyed my shaved ice in the tables they have out front. It was nice to sit and just enjoy the view. read more

Kai Fresh is the little stand in front of the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani hotel. We've been going here for açaí bowls for the last 6+ years, when it used to be called Aloha Coffee. I love their açaí bowls and think they're beautifully crafted, well made with very fresh ingredients, the perfect serving size, fairly priced for Waikiki at $13/per bowl and put together with care and flavors. The classic açaí bowl here is açaí blended and topped with a bit of granola, banana, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, a drizzle of honey and cocoa nibs. I will continue coming to this stand on my return visits, as I've been doing over the years. read more

Kai Fresh is right next to the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel, near the swimming pool area. I got the Strawberry Cream Cheese Croissant Waffle, and also the Blueberry Cream Cheese Croissant Waffle. Both waffles taste so good and they do not taste too sweet. I have not tried anything else other than the croissant waffles at Kai Fresh. I like the ambiance of the place, because they play soothing music. It's a vibe when listening to soothing music and being under the morning sun. I recommend coming here for the croissant waffles. And I'm sure that the other things that they have there are amazing as well. read more

Conveniently located outside of the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani and across from the Westin, this little shack has shave ice, drinks, and açaí bowls. We actually came for açaí but they were out so we got a passion fruit and strawberry shave ice to share instead, opting out of the popping boba. The flavors were good and fresh - I could have done with a little more condensed milk but the jelly was good. I wish they had mochi instead of popping boba but for the convenience, it was alright. Possibly the best waffle I have had in years! This waffle has a great balance of warm, soft middle, progressively chewy to crispy outside. I went with the coconut waffle and large Americano and was very happy. We arrived very early and people watched. The crowd definitely grows as Honolulu starts to wake up after 7am. read more

This is a little shack situated outside of the rear of Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel. Came here for a Macchiato and açaí bowl. The Macchiato was a well balanced cup of espresso with a dollop of foam. The coffee was the perfect roast - not too acidic. Got a Tropical Fruit Açaí Bowl. It was topped with strawberries, pineapple, cacao nibs and bananas. I didn't eat the açaí bowl for about 15 minutes, but the açaí berry blend still had a great smooth texture and did not melt fast in the warm weather. The cacao nibs added a chocolate touch, which surprisingly enhanced the açaí bowl. read more

When visiting Waikiki I recommend trying their shaved ice. It is so delicious. I had Kai Fresh and their shaved ice was amazing!! It was so delicious I kept coming every day for more. You must try it and you won't regret it. You'll thank me for the recommendation. read more

Hot Kona coffee and a tasty waffle to top off my trip . This vendor is right across the Moana Surfrider Hotel and we finally stopped by after the staff kept raving about it . The waffle was so soft with a slight vanilla taste to the batter. The syrup is thick and actually tastes like real syrup . Definitely no artificial taste in it . Prices are not high . Located across the Moana Surfrider Hotel (Besides Crocs) is this small breakfast nook that offers outdoor sitting (4-5 tables). It is shaded, cool tourist ambiance. It's such a perfect place for people who needs a quick bite or cup of coffee and not paying the high waikiki price. They offer "croissant waffle" that almost have a "mochi" consistency when you chew on it. I had the hawaiian which is a classic with fresh berries but the thing that makes it special is the home made macadamia syrup-- it is divine! The choco-holic waffle is a must have for kids or those who just wants nutella for breakfast! There is also an excuse for a full-on dessert with their shave ice that have a dole whip ice cream in the center. It comes with toppings like mochi and popping bobas on the side. The plentiful condensed milk they pour (which is a boomerang-insta pic worthy) balanced the flavor. I also had the acai bowl. The consistency of the acai is the one i prefer, its almost like "ice cream". With all the waffles I ate, I had my acai to-go (still in the freezer as I typed).. For the coffee lovers, all the classic favorite are there and i believe they use honolulu coffee beans. The accept cash/cards. They don't validate parking. Nearest parking is the international market place. Must -try. Staff are efficient despite the amount of customers. The owners are welcoming and working there as well. read more

This might be one of the only places in Waikiki open at 4 AM which is perfect if you've just arrived the night before from the East Coast. The inside of the shop feels homey. They have a display case full of pastries along with additional baked goods set out nearby. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

It was less than three dollars including tax, so definitely affordable. The guava filling was great, but the donut itself was kind of bland. If it weren't so cheap, I would have given it three stars. This place is located in McCully Shopping center and while they do have parking up front, it's not much parking and it tends to get pretty busy here. Just keep in mind that if you pay with a card it is a minimum of $10. There was a couple of times where I didn't have cash and I just had to buy a snack or dessert to meet the minimum.

This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.
