Philadelphia Roll (no cucumber) and Salmon Nigiri

One my favorite sushi restaurants in the area. Rolls are filling and service is good.

Tried to eat with my family for lunch on a Saturday. They weren't busy. Our 6 year old won't eat this type of food. We had just stopped by the nearby mall and brought a bag of Wetzel Bits, so we could still all eat together. We were barely seated when the server said we weren't allowed to bring "outside food", so we left. I'd understand if we brought in a lot of food from somewhere else, but it was a bag of pretzel bits for a child. We had every intention of ordering most of our food from this place. Too bad they don't accommodate for kids here. An absolute turn-off.

What an exceptional attention to detail, my son came from a soccer game and the chef made him a soccer ball of rice! Truly grateful for the kindness. It gave my son a million dollar smile and cheered him up.. the ambiance is so calm, positive, happy and clean. Great tasting food always. Not crazy expensive. Never got sick. Ate several times. Very healthy.

California roll, tempura roll, and a specialty roll that was tempura roll like, with spicy tuna.

It is a clean, inviting restaurant with open doors and the California breeze blowing in. A smiling hostess greeted me, sat me down, and brought some of the best-tasting iced tea I've ever had. The sushi rolls were out in less than 10 minutes and were huge! The rolls weren't over sauced, and were made with fresh ingredients. It's the best sushi I've had in a long time. The man making the sushi was either the manager or owner, and I got the impression that he doesn't tolerate anything less than perfection in service.

First time having sushi in Chula Vista and this place didn't disappoint! Came here on a Tuesday night. It wasn't busy at all. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. The menu selection is large. We ordered the; samurai roll, Philadelphia roll, combination nigiri, and the beef plate for our one year old. We loved everything!! Our favorite roll was the samurai. The food was super tasty and better than I expected. One thing they can work on is putting less rice in the rolls. We felt like some of them had too much rice and less fresh fish. The restaurant is small but quaint. Semi-loud ambiance. They have a few booths and tables. It's family-friendly with high chairs available upon request.

love this little place, super convenient by our house. not a fan of the 3 course and limited to how much but everything is so yummy. Everything comes out fast kudos to the chef

Bottom : Kaiyo special roll and crunchy " Philadelphia " roll- on menu the phili roll does not include crab idk why it was added!

Food is really good here and so is the customer service. Front end people are very kind and the service is relatively fast (for sushi).

Hahaha! The drink choices were also really good. The staff had good drink recommendations for us and were friendly. I can't wait until summer to have them open those side windows and sit outside. I was also here on my own a few weeks back and had the burger. Holy mole, it was amazing! My heart was so happy and full! I love coming here and look forward to my next visit.

A server who happened to be walking by finally took our drink order and brought us menus. She recommended the carne asada fries, so we ordered those along with chips, salsa, guacamole, a Coke, and a Long Island Iced Tea. Even though it wasn't busy, it took about 15 minutes to get our drinks. The guacamole was the star of the meal--fresh, flavorful, and honestly some of the best I've had. It was absolutely delicious! The carne asada fries, however, were a huge disappointment. For $24.99, there was barely any carne asada on them. They were mostly French fries with cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, cilantro, and sour cream, with very little meat. They also lacked flavor and definitely weren't worth the price. The fresh guacamole saved the meal, but the slow service, being ignored at the bar, and the overpriced carne asada fries made for a disappointing experience

This is always a great sign. The manager, Ben, is awesome. He greeted us and added us to the waitlist. We were seated after 10mins of waiting in a great spot. Our favorite server, Nathan, is a lead now. We were seated in Matt's area and he was our server. Nathan came by to say hi and greet us, this is excellent customer service here. Matt was also great and customer service oriented and he took our order for table apps and drinks. The ambiance here is fun, family friendly, cool, and good vibes all around. They have a DJ some Saturdays. There are also very cool theme nights. Tonight was "Wing Wednesday". I posted a photo of the theme nights. For example, Thursday is Teachers 15% Discount Day and Karaoke. The walls, seating, and table decor is very nice. The design element here is wonderful. Hubby got the cobb salad which was a large portion but otherwise just ok. note that there is no outdoor seating so leave Fido home. Probably would not bother coming back here.

We got there around 9:20pm & instead of being welcomed, the first thing we were told was that they actually close at 10 cuz it was "slow." That was already frustrating cuz if their hours were updated correctly, we wouldn't have wasted the drive. We left to look for other options next door, but since everything else was closed, we came back literally 3 mins later. From that point on, it was obvious the server was annoyed we came back. The service was disappointing from start to finish. She barely checked on us, never came back to ask how the food was, and my boyfriend had to wave her down just to get a refill. It felt like we were inconveniencing them the entire time. To top it off, when we asked if we could get churros to go since they seemed in a rush to close, we were told no. Even drinks and certain menu items were apparently limited cuz they were trying to shut down early. SMH. The food was okay at best, but the service and overall experience completely ruined it. If your business says you're open until 12, honor those hours or update them. Customers shouldn't feel unwelcome for showing up during your posted business hours. Being slow isn't an excuse for bad service. If customers walking in during POSTED business hours feels like an inconvenience, maybe the hospitality industry isn't the right fit. We won't be coming back at all.

I don't think you could have a really bad view anyway. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. This was the first time my grandson went to a Teppanyaki restaurant. He loved it and it brought joy to our faces to see how much fun he had. The expression of joy, and also how the chef interacted with him, left us laughing. The chef was very entertaining and landed all the tricks. We had so much food we were busting at the seams. I personally had a filet mignon dinner. The steak was done at a perfect medium. The salad was as expected. The noodles, the vegetables and the fried rice were delicious. They were two things I didn't really like that we were given. One was the hibachi soup and the second was the Tokoyaki. The soup tasted like steak seasoning to me and the Takoyaki was too mushy. The only thing us adults were really bummed about was there was no bar there. They did have Japanese beer, sake and wine, but they were mostly bottled or canned. I wasn't in the mood after that for the alcohol so I just chose a Japanese creamy soda that was melon flavored. It was OK. I didn't really care for it too much as well. I expected a more stronger melon taste. For appetizers, we got the crispy calamari. It was done to a light crisp, which made it enjoyable to eat. My grandson got the french fries which was a huge basket for a little kid. He loved it. We had a fun time together as a family, laughing and enjoying each other's company I would definitely go back again, even though they didn't have a bar.
