First time here and in my opinion not up to standard. First of all what kind of sushi place doesn't have Sapporo. The tables only had one soy sauce glass when others have sriracha sauce red or green soy sauce, chili and/or sweetener for iced tea. All the beverages were canned so no refill was available. Went for our first time and we are always hesitant to try new Sushi since we are fans of a great Sushi place nearby. Our experience was great, service was wonderful and food taste good. I wish it was bigger in space, we walked in at a busy time and we're seated at the smallest table, but we we're able to move to a booth quickly after. We had Snowball roll, Spanish roll, Tiger Roll, Spicy scallops roll , Baked salmon roll and spicy garlic edamame and green tea mochi. My personal favorite was the baked salmon roll, and price was awesome. Definitely looking forward to going back and trying more stuff, even as take out. read more

This place doesn't realize that the "Su" in sushi means vinegar. Real sushi has rice vinegar in the rice - otherwise there isn't enough flavor. So this place doesn't serve very authentic sushi. I actually had the Teriyaki Salmon. The salmon was a bit dry (overcooked?) and smothered with too much teriyaki sauce - so much that the rice was completely saturated (which also isn't the way Japanese would serve the dish). read more

This has turned into one of my fav sushi spots! I've only been here about 3 times, but each time I enjoyed the food very much. Some of my favs on the menu is their snowball and crazy bomb appetizer. Their gyoza is so good and the miso soup is very refreshing. Next I'm looking to try the Special Kaiyo roll, pizza roll and their spicy seafood udon! We have been searching Eastlake for a good after church sushi. Kaiyo Sushi is the answer. Friendly staff greeted us as we walked in the door and were willing to move tables to accommodate our family. Pokie sushi, dragon roll, spicy tuna and rainbow rolls were excellent. Bento boxes, katsu and teriyaki chicken were delicious as well. Even the iced tea was fresh brewed and tasty. Sushi is good, however, if this business continues to play music featuring the N-word, the Eastlake community will soon favor other sushi spots down the street. It's not hard to play radio edit music - especially with so many kids present with their families. I am a regular here and have also ordered through doordash and Postmates. Today, I moved into the new house and ordered 3 sushi (and 3 sodas) for my family and I. The driver got here sooner than estimated, all was good until we opened our bag and it didn't have any utensils, soy sauce or napkins. The house is literally empty and I barely moved in so I don't have any of these condiments nor utensils, yet. In addition, I drove my uhaul truck here, and when I spoke to Regine on the phone, she apologized but there's nothing they can do. She advised me I could either ask the driver to come pick it up for us (which would cost me extra) or come pick it up ourselves (which would add mileage to my uhaul rental. Why should I pay more for the service that they should have and always include in every to go orders? They didn't offer me anything to make up for this inconvenience. I normally go to Bento and Noodles in Eastlake, but Kaiyo has better prices on Sushi, so I've been going to Kaiyo for the last 2 months instead. Their Bento Box 2 or 3 combo is not as good as Bento and Noodles because you can only pick 1 meat item and then your 1 or two additional choices are 2 piece sushi items which is not a great deal when Bento and Noodles allows you to pick all sushi items or all meat (chicken/beef/pork teriyaki or tempura). I just called Kaiyo to order some sushi rolls and a small Katsu Chicken Bowl. They tell me they don't sell a Chicken Katsu Bowl. I tell them I've ordered it at least 4 times in the past. The girl taking the order asks a manager if they can sell a Chicken Katsu Bowl because they've sold it to me in the past and the manager tells her "no". So I ask her, "if you have Katsu Chicken and Rice as an option in your Bento box, all you need to do is put it in a bowl and you have a Katsu Chicken Bowl. I've bought it from you in the past, what's the problem?" I went on to say, I want to buy everything from one place. If you can't sell the Katsu Chicken Bowl like you've always done for me in the past, then I have to go to Bento Noodle. You want to lose a $30+ order because you won't put Chicken Katsu over rice in a bowl like you sell your teriyaki bowls? You've always done this for me in the past? I don't understand why this is difficult? Her response was, "I'm sorry. We can't." I said, "Okay.....I'll just have to start getting everything at Bento Noodles." She was nice and said....."Okay. Thank you. Bye." Think outside of the box. Your menu sucks compared to Bento Noodles and your Sushi isn't as great as Bento Noddles, but for the price your Sushi is alright. If they won't put Katsu Chicken over rice in a bowl (they have Katsu Chicken and they have rice and they have a bowl!) to make a $30+ sale, they aren't going to last. Also, they won't give you Miso Soup with your Bento Entree if it's to go. If you have the Miso soup there it's included in the meal, if you order theBento to go, you have to pay $1.50 for it. Decide to try this new place that opened close to my house. The food was delicious! The place was clean, the waitress was friendly, and service was fast, perhaps they have been reading their yelp reviews! :) They had more than enough staff on hand and everyone was working together to make sure customers were happy. The only down side was they have no alcohol, yet. They said they are working on obtaining their license, so hopefully soon! I have a feeling this place is going to be the new happening spot, especially cuz there are no good sushi places around here. One suggestion for the owners, please change up the music from the techno/club music playing. Oh the prices are food too, and they currently have buy two rolls get one free. Yes, please! :) read more
