My best friend was in town and wanted to get our nails done, so we came here last Friday morning. We booked a mani and a pedi. We checked in and didn't have to wait long for Mymy and Tina to start on our toes. Honestly, our whole pedicure experience well because our ladies were nice and just did their jobs. Here comes the bad part of our experience of when we were getting started on our manicures. We had originally booked two gel pedicure and one gel manicure and one gel builder. We asked if they can do gel builder for both manicure, which they said yes but one of us would have to wait 15 minutes which we said we were fine with. I had Tracy who started on my nails first and for the most part, she was quiet and just did her thing, which I preferred. Sadly, my best friend got Kandy who at first asked my best friend what she wanted for shape and length with the builder gel. My best friend told her she wanted to do a short almond shape. Kandy told her if she wants to do that then she would have to do a longer length, so my friend agreed and said a medium length is fine. I don't think Tracy or Kandy knew this, but we are Vietnamese and can understand everything that is being said!! Because Kandy later proceeded to complain in Vietnamese the ENTIRE manicure about how she doesn't know how she's going to my friend's nails because of what she picked, how she's going to be stuck doing it for a long time, how my friend "insisted" on doing this and how my friend's nails/fingers aren't straight and keep swerving. Tracy was fine for most of my manicure, but there was a couple times she would agree and say "yeah, this lady's fingers too". Halfway through, my best friend and I just stopped talking to each other because I was getting so annoyed of Kandy's complaining. I wished she would've just told us she couldn't do my friend's nail so we could've had another nail tech who would've been happy to do it. I didn't say anything because it was my first time seeing my best friend in months and she really wanted to get her nails done, so I bit my tongue but her complaints started giving me a headache. After Tracy was done with my manicure, she asked me if we were paying separately or together. I told her together, so she punched in the numbers and gave me a total of $295. I gave her $300 in cash and was going to ask for change, but I heard her saying in Vietnamese about how she had little to no change. By the time I looked up after I paid, she had left the table. **I turned over to my friend and told her I had a headache, so I was going to wait outside in the car. I gave her cash to tip everyone after she's done telling her I overheard Tracy saying she didn't really have any change, so my friend can ask her nail lady for change.** When my friend was done and came out 15 minutes later, she told me Tracy came up shocked and complained about how I walked out and didn't tip on a $295 service and how she couldn't believe it - repeating it over and over. I wished she would've waited until my friend was done with her nails, so she could've seen that we were going to tip... My friend said they were a little nicer when she pulled out the cash I gave her to tip, but the whole experience put a really bad taste in our mouths. I won't be back here again.

The first time Diana (stylist at Kaizen Salon) did my hair, she livened up my dull hair with deep color and gorgeous highlights, successfully covered my stubborn grey and refreshed my out-dated look with a stylish new cut...that was 17 years ago and I've been going to her ever since! She has always listened to what I want -even when I don't know exactly what new color or cut I want to try, she takes the time to thoroughly explore and explain the options personally best for me. When asked, she has given me step-by-step instructions on how to re-create the styles I love with styling tools and techniques, and offers friendly advice on all my hair care concerns from thinning hair to the best hair products. The experience the day of was great, except for the roughness on the hair and scrubbing my forehead after leaving dark stains which stayed about 4 days until it finally washed out. My extensions gave me a headache and irritation on my scalp, mind you I have had extensions (NBR) before and this had never happened. I showed my inspiration photos and had grown my hair out for a year and didn't dye it so I could do this big transformation. After the first 2 days I still had a massive headache and the extensions were hurting on my left side but I didn't say anything because she did tell me if they hurt to put oil so I did. She said it would be normal if they hurt so I thought it's part of the process maybe? I finally washed my hair and dried it about 3 days later and my hair was NOT matching. The cut and the color was blunt and just not working. I told myself I could work with it because I am not a confrontational person at all and I didn't want to hurt the stylists feelings. I decided I needed to get this mess fixed, so I went to a different stylist and she recommended I reach out to the stylist and try to get a partial refund, so I did. You cannot get a refund on this service, yes she did offer to fix the extensions, but it's not just the extensions it's EVERYTHING and once you've had something horrible done, you really don't want that person to ever touch your hair again. I paid $1500 for this service Ultimately I'm just wanting to share my story, I appreciate the stylists optimism in wanting to help me, but I wouldn't drive an hour again to have my hair messed up.

I do not know how often this sort of situation happens, but it did happen to me. I did a strand test with Cindy and booked my appointment shortly after. The first time she rescheduled me, she told me it was a clerical error. Then she texted me at midnight telling me to come for my original scheduled appt the next day, then she texted me the morning of 15 minutes before my appointment and rescheduled me. After my appointment was pushed out a MONTH, it came the day of and she asked to push my appointment later in the day. I agreed and she asked to reschedule me again. At that point I was a little fed up as I had tried to be understanding, but I really wanted my hair done so she asked me to push my appt later in the day again. (Screenshots attached of her rescheduling me) When I got to the salon, I waited another 30 minutes before Cindy started doing my hair. Cindy and her assistant were very passive aggressive, complaining to me about how I was their last client and how exhausted they were, how they wanted to go home. All the while, Cindy never explained to me what she was doing and was yanking my hair which made me feel very uncomfortable. This was also my first time getting my hair done so I didn't know too much about the process. She had told me we would be doing a global bleaching (screenshot attached for proof) which is what I paid for but that is not what I got. In the end, the color was nice (although definitely not global) and to top it off Cindy did not give me any Olaplex products as she said she would. She was rushing me out of the salon and her husband was even waiting around while I finished. Overall, I had such a poor experience with Cindy due to her lack of professionalism, the whole rescheduling fiasco to her attitude. I ended up going to another salon to achieve platinum and had a much better experience in terms of both the process and the result. I know plenty of Cindy's clients and read all the good reviews but I will not be returning.

The toning faded quickly and the colors didn't come out as I expected. For some reason although my hair was already bleached twice the blonde didn't come through at all. But thanks to Cindy she was able to help me achieve my perfect blonde all in one session so that I wouldn't have to ever worry about orange payoff again. Her sessions are a bit long but the time you spend with her are so worth it, since she is super patient and only wants the best for her clients. For some reason, the moment I walked through the door and met Caroline, she exuded an air of confidence that made me feel like I could trust her completely, so I said "you take the wheel!" and let her do her magic. I asked Caroline for a warm brown (my hair had been colored ash blonde with babylights for about 3 years now), and to have it at a slight balayage ombre from my roots down. She explained to me exactly what she was going to do beforehand, while also checking in with me to make sure it was what I wanted. She was transparent and honest about what could and could not be achieved due to the color/condition of my hair currently. Now usually the hair coloring process entails a lot of small talk between client and stylist. In my past experiences, I felt the need to keep up with the "cool" and "edgy" aura that the salons carried, similar to how one might feel when surrounded by the popular kids crew in high school. However, talking to Caroline was like talking to an old friend. She came across very genuinely interested in establishing a relationship with her clients, and she was an amazing listener. She even did that thing where she paraphrases what you say and repeats it back to you (lol!!!). Needless to say, I felt so relaxed and comfortable chatting with her through the whole process. Oh, not only did I get my hair colored, I also got BANGS!!! For the first time since....like I was in elementary school!? Caroline was gentle and careful through the process, gradually adding in thickness as to ensure that we don't go overboard too fast. She consistently double-checked with me to makes sure I was happy with what's happening, and I felt very reassured. The end product overwhelmed me in the best way. I did not even recognize myself, but I felt SO myself. Caroline achieved the warm brown caramel ombre/balayage with meticulous execution, and I absolutely LOVED my bangs!!!!! Not only that, she provided very useful hair care tips and product recommendations. It was clear that she not only cared about making you look good for that one day, she cared maintaining the quality and health of your hair as well. I can't recommend Caroline enough! Your hairdresser did not add enough bleach or had the wrong mixture so your hair turned more orange-y now. Also, he said whoever did your layered cut wasn't good. It wasn't professionally cut at all. I never went back.
